Anyone notice it depends on what songs your downloading .. iTunes Plus ?

I can't see this mentioned in the posts I have read but some iTunes plus downloads download really well.. and others don't.
Take Enigma.. downloads really fast.
Paul Van Dyk .. Have been waiting days for it to work..
Anyone else seeing this strange behaviour.. ?

My problems appear to be somewhat "alphabetical"--but I also am guessing the more "popular" tracks downloaded okay for a reason. I'm having trouble getting less mainstream tracks to download at all right now----GRRRRRR! Things seem to be somewhat alphabetical--but--I've got a few David Gray songs (from an album I downloaded!) that are trying to prove me wrong! Others in the mix include Dianne Reeves, The Band, Steve Miller Band, and Simply Red. They simply won't download for some reason! GRRRRRR!

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

  • HT1414 anyone noticing a decline in battery life after downloading ios7????

anyone noticing a decline in battery life after downloading ios7?

I have an iphone 5. Ios 7 is a disaster for battery life! It used to drain about 1% every two hours, 5% over night roughly (not being used). Now it is draining at double the rate. It drained 10% over night and it isn't even doing a thing. I think something is clocking up usage when it's idle.
    Screen brightness is minimal.
Background app updating is restricted to one app which isn't running the majority of the time.
Dynamic wall paper and other stupid stuff is all turned off.
I can't turn off the stupid clock animation. I wonder if working out how that is displayed is the issue???
It shouldn't be draining at 1% per hour when not even being used.
Favourite locations is still switched on.
Is there any benefit in turning off wifi and using 3g data only? I had the issue before that having 3g enabled meant double the battery drain so I only used it when I was out.
Ipad mini seems fine though. Battery life is same as last ios6 ie about 14-16 hours use.
I now have caret running to find out what the rogue thing is. The majority of the time few apps are running at all.
My general average usage is 12-15% per day if lightly used and 25-45% if it is moderately used. Now the phone is draining at 25-33% a day when lightly used!
Beats me why an ipad mini which is advertised at up to 10 hours on wifi nearly doubles that and the iphone which is advertised at the same rarely reaches it. I usually get 8 hours of active use if I'm lucky. Now it's more like 5-6 which is hopeless.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

  • No songs available via iTunes plus

    Hi,
I was delighted to see that with the new iTunes plus announcement I would finally be able to free my iTunes songs. Unfortunately it seems that is not the case. I have updated to iTunes 8.0.2.2, but I can't see the link to iTunes plus in the iTunes store. Today I finally found an iTunes plus ad on the store site, but when I clicked on it I got a message saying there are no new songs available to upgrade.
What might be wrong? I have about a 1,000 songs, most of them from the iTunes store. I would have thought that at least some of them would be upgradeable.
Could this have something to do with a problem I had with iTunes plus when it was first announced? I tried once to upgrade a bunch of EMI songs, but I just got an error after which iTunes plus always told me that there are no songs available to upgrade.

It's possible, I suppose, that none of your tracks have been made available in iTunes Plus format yet, but it's unlikely that none of them are unless you just happen to buy only artists for whom their label hasn't yet come on board. You can check by doing a Power Search for some of the tracks/albums you have and see if they're listed as being iTunes Plus. If they are, then assuming that you're logged into the iTunes Store using the account through which those tracks were purchased (if in doubt, get Info on the track and look at the Summary pane), then it's probably one of the errors or overloads that the iTunes Store is struggling with right now. Wait a couple of weeks and see if the matter clears up on it's own, and if it doesn't, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form at the bottom of the Purchase Issues FAQ web page and explain the problem to them.
    Regards.

  • "Your upgraded iTunes Plus music..." pop-up

iTunes keeps telling me that my "iTunes Plus music will replace the original purchases in (my) library (...)" through a popup. Is there a way to keep this pop-up from popping up...? It's really annoying to have to click on OK all the time.
I have a few thousands songs to upgrade... I would like to keep my sanity through this all!

Hi, I've been on the phone with Apple for about 35 minutes, trying to get this resolved. Hmmm, may have figured this out.
Go to iTunes, Preferences, Store, then deselect "Automatically check for available downloads." and deselect "Automatically download prepurchased content." Click OK. Close Preferences.
    Quit iTunes.
    Start iTunes.
You should get a pop-up that gives you a message asking if you want to automatically check for downloads. Select no. Tell the pop-up not to do that for you. Then, you should get the message: "Your upgraded iTunes music will replace..." Select your response, and see what happens.
    That cured my problem.
If I get some new information, I'll post it.
Hope that helps. Please reply to this, either way.

  • Upgraded to 7.6 and still can't download itunes plus songs

iTunes requests that I upgrade to a newer version in order to purchase iTunes Plus songs. I've downloaded the 7.6 version about 10 times and still get the message that I need to upgrade. What's up???

Did you actually install the new version or just download it?

  • Downloading iTunes Plus song upgrades problem - network connection msg

I recently upgraded to iTunes 10.1. I also purchased the iTunes plus song upgrades for most of my library. When I try to download these upgrades, I get the same message, which is something like "iTunes Network Connection Time Out". However, I have purchased new songs since and been able to download without issue. I have tried all of the following fixes with no avail.
    -Uninstall and Reinstall
    -disabled firewall completely
    -Flushed DNS Cache
None of the above have had any impact on the problem. If I cannot fix this, I will contest the charge for the upgrade with my bank since no one at Apple has been able to help.

I am having the exact same problem. I tried contacting Apple support - I explained my problem and provided the info from running Diagnostics. What I got in return was a cut-and-paste answer about being sure to log in and check my cables, as well as " please note that the iTunes Store cannot investigate every user's connection issue". So what's the point of sending an email in the first place? I'm very frustrated - my iTunes plus upgrade was over $400, and it was billed to my credit card weeks ago while I've been trying to get this solved. I am about to call my bank as well.

  • Can't download songs from my Itunes Plus upgrade

    Hi,
I upgraded 262 songs to Itunes Plus this past Saturday and I've been unable to download them. I've downloaded lots of songs before so I know I can download songs.
Everytime I go to the Downloads tab it shows "262 Itunes downloads available" at the bottom of the window but when I click the down arrow to start downloading, Itunes says it's "checking for downloads..." for a while and then says:
"Unable to check for downloads. The network connection timed out."
Can someone explain what the problem is?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi Tim,
I got things to work. I ended up emailing iTunes support and explaining the problem. He cut back the number of songs I had to download to 150 and after he did that I was able to download all of them. He then enabled the rest of the songs for download and I was able to download them. I think there is a limit to how many songs can be downloaded at one time, maybe 200 I think I saw somewhere else on here. So if you have more than 200 songs you are stuck until you contact iTunes support. But once I did it was very straighforward the the support guy responded very quickly after I downloaded each batch. So I think you'll need to email support and explain the problem.
    Hope this helps.
    Nick

  • How can I easily manage what songs go to Itunes Match

I have about 50k songs in my music library and not unlike other people I only ever listen to about 10% of it. So I want to be able to easily manage what is in Itunes Match and What is not. Besides clicking each individual track is there a way to Manage by genre or artist ?

iTunes Match is all-or-nothing. If it is in the iTunes library it will be included in the initial scan, match and upload. However, with your library you will not be allowed to even activate the service. You will need to remove over half of the tracks from the iTunes library for it to be eligible for iTunes Match.

  • Has anyone noticed that the iphones set up system on itunes is down?

My iphone will not set up online on itunes, It is the original iphone, it has worked before but not now, anyone know what to do?

The iTunes store is up and running..
Try resetting.   Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
IPHONE ORIGINAL, iOS 3.1.3, BRAND NEW
If this iPhone is really running 3.1.3 you need to update the software to 4.2.1
Connect the iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes.
    Select the Summary tab
    Click:  Check for  Update

  • What song data does iTunes Match sync?

iTunes Match seems to be completely broken in iOS 6. While ratings sync immediately, play count only does from time to time and last played never updates.
While being far from perfect, things worked better in iOS 5. I'm definately not going to renew and try to get a refund from Apple for my current subscription, since the product does not work.

iTunes Match has always had poor performance with Song data (metadata), see earlier post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3760002.
Agree IOS 6 has not improved, however, unable to see any information from Apple promising such performance - it is as though the limited IOS 5 capability was not a priority and has simply been left out of IOS 6.
It would help if Apple clearly stated the scope of intended iTunes Match / IOS capability - it appears limited to automatic sync of Song files grouped as playlists or Albums with no undertaking to share metadata beyond limited information such as Song names, album, artist and so on.
Have to agree that the service is limited, you can only assess the value on the limited capability available - for me, with multiple computers and iDevices (including Apple TV) it is still very good despite the limitations.

  • Does anyone know how to edit artist/song names in iTunes 12 for Windows?

Usually I could click on "Get Info" and change it from there, but now it won't let me do anything with the Get Info page. Help!

I had this same problem and I started messing with it a bit then I remembered it was a read-only file that's why it couldn't be changed. So to take this off go to the song right click it. then left click show in windows explorer. After that it will take you to where the song is located at. Right click that then left click on properties. Once that opens uncheck the box Read-Only. Then left click apply then left click ok. Close itunes. Open it again and go to the song you wanted to edit. higlight it then left click file, which is in the menu bar.(to show toolbar press ctrl+B). Go down to get info and hover mouse over it. then press shift right click it and at the same time left click it. The old get info pop-up should show and you should be able to edit from there.

  • Has anyone noticed apple tv is not updating content from itunes?

Also movie list only goes a few letters of the alphabet. i confirm this on three different sets in my area now.

    goofy69 wrote:
    thanks for the reply.
for example all hd only goes to b for listed titles.
They go to c for the selection from the UK store
it used to go all the way to z. etc.
Are you sure, how long ago was that.
What you are seeing is the first 200 movies alphabetically. As the movie selection grows then the list will end nearer the beginning of the alphabet, rather than just showing movies starting with specific letters. It's possible that in the early days, 200 listings would have been sufficient to list all the movies.
Or are you saying it used to list more than 200 movies before.
itunes usually goes to get new movies and tv shows each tuesday. but i think this is a slow week for releases and not related.
i use itunes canada store usually but us store does the same.
By way of example the latest rental available in the UK via itunes was released on August 3, it is not available via the apple tv, the latest purchase available via itunes was released August 31 and it is available via the tv.
I originally assumed you were saying that they had stopped adding movies to itms for apple tv but not for itunes, the purchase example above would suggest this wasn't the case.
Clearly they aren't adding all the movies to itms for the apple tv that they are to itms for itunes, but hasn't this always been the case.
If you are saying that generally new movies have slowed down for both itms for apple tv and itms for itunes, then I'd agree with you. If you are asking if there is anything significant about this in light of the 'it's only Rock n Roll' announcement tomorrow, then I don't know, you'll need to wait and see.

  • Anyone else unable to make music purchases after downloading iTunes 7.5?

I tried to download the new Alicia Keyes album today from iTunes. A message popped up stating that I need to upgrade to 7.5 to purchase this music. I attempted to purchase the album after downloading Quicktime for Panther and iTunes 7.5. When I select 'buy album' or 'buy song', I get the spinning clock while my hard disk grinds for about forty-five seconds. I tried about three times before I gave up. I don't want to blow out my hard drive. Any suggestions or solutions?

I've posted about this problem on my blog at http://techgeekblog.com Either go there and DIGG the story or go here to do it directly http://digg.com/apple/TheiTunes_Store_is_unable_to_process_purchases_at_thistime
Maybe if we DIGG it enough, Apple will hear.
