Hey Guys,, whts up? Well i am now really confused between both the white models (1.83Ghz and the 2.0Ghz). If you have a 1.83Ghz macbook, why did you choose it? Is it working well enough? Is the difference between the Ghz worth it all? Is the DVDRW worth it? Thx a lot.

DON'T BUY IT unless u don't kw what to do with your $$, because it runs slower than my window98 m/c.
Worst, the MacOS alone took-up 1/3 of the standard 60Gb hardisk space in which the Apple salesman never tell me during the purchase. If I knew it, I could have upgrade the m/c or stayed with my window98 notebook.
I'm speaking the truth, I bought this m/c from Singapore as an overseas student under educational purchase. Now studying in Sydney, the Singapore Apple office refused to honour the return of my m/c in Sydney except global warranty despite there're plently of Apple store in Sydney there. Instead, they expected me to incurr my own expenses to have the m/c courier into their Singapore Office.
It's a complete nightmare for me..........i simply get very very ANNOYED & FRUSTRATED everytime i run this MacBook:(

I am trying to use the locate my macbook that was stolen. How do I know if it is set up on the service. It shows on the list but just says it is offline and doesn't say when or where it last was. I am trying to either locate it or erase it. HELP
Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

time capsule only allows 2 devices at a time as a router. If I am using the iphone and macbook pro, it bumps the roku offline. Any suggestions?
At a guess you have cable internet connection.. please confirm exactly what you have.. two public IPs are allowed by some ISP.. once you use up the two IPs, there are no more..
Make sure the TC is in router mode. And to get it working you probably need to shut off the cable modem.. if it has battery backup remove the battery.. try 5min off .. if not long enough try 20min off. then overnight. The ISP equipment must reset to allow a new MAC address to capture the IP.
If you cannot work it out.. plug in the old router again.. and set the TC to bridge mode.. which I suspect it is in now.. and plug it into the main router.. it should work fine like that. -
Can you use the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display straight out of the box, or do you have to charge it up fully before you can use it. I do not want to damage the laptop by misusing the battery.
Attach the charger and start charging the battery to 100%. The good news is that after you have connected the charger, you may start using the MBP as well.

Why my safari browser is not opening pdf files?I'm currently using the lat 2013 macbook pro with os mavericks and all my software is uptodate?

If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -
Has anyone successfully used the Intuit Quicken compatible with Lion upgrade for investment tracking?
Although I gave up investment tracking for personal reasons (I had used Quicken Deluxe 2002 for many years for that reason), my understanding is that the new Quicken 2007 for Lion/Mt. Lion is completely the same feature wise as Quicken 2007 for PPC. It will run on Snow Leopard, too.
For $15, why not download it and just try it and LET US KNOW! -

It seems to me that because the decision point happens before the tabular form is rendered (via the tree right?) you don't really need a "On Change" DA.
I think you either need find the hms field c030, which could be hidden or visible, as depending on that value go hide or show the hms_info field.
You'll want to do this either on Page Load or After Refresh or both, it depends on how the tabular form gets refreshed.
Your DA On Load would be

One of my sons has an ipad mini and the other a larger ipad. The one using the mini needs a larger ipad for school, so they need to switch. They want to do so without losing their individual app progress. Can I simply switch the SIM cards?
SIM card has nothing to do with your Apple ID or apps.
IOS devices do not store anything on the SIM card.
BAckup everything on the iPads.
REstore tbe ipad from the backup of the other iPad.
REpeat for the other one. -
Any one using the Lacie d2 Quadra USB 3
I was wondering if anyone was using the Lacie d2 Quadra USB 3 Drive. If so, I was also wondering if the included management software can be deleted and just manage the drive via Disk Utility.
I just bought an OWC Mecury Elite Pro. I like it, except for the fan noise.I have 4 of models with USB 2.0 which are almost identical. When you connect to the Mac for the first time the Lacie will sense it's connected to OS X and format correctly. After that simply forget about software or re-format the drive (Mac OS Extended (Journaled)) in Disk Utility and that will wipe the drive clean.
Congrat's on getting the drive, I have had mine for 4.5 years with no issues at all. -
I have in the past created an Apple ID for use with the UK itunes store, because I want to read in English. If I sign in it seems that this ID will only allow me to purchase from the UK store. But I live in Belgium, so I can't download from the UK store. So I tried to create an apple ID for the Belgian itunes store. But I want to use the same email address as I used for the first apple ID I made (because I'm fed up of having to remember which email address I used for which account). When I tried this, I just get a message saying that the email address is already in use for another account (which I know, because it's me who made that account). Does anyone have a workaround for this?

I'm presuming you went ahead and set up a new Apple ID, yes? Using the same password in more than one Apple ID has worked for me in the past, but I haven't tried it in a while so the tightened security may have changed that. You could use the same password but add "-UK" and "-BE", or something like that, to make it easier to remember.
I understand what you mean about losing the ability to deal with UK purchased stuff, but this is becoming so inconvenient that I do want to delete that UK apple ID account. I have looked everywhere I can think of on the apple website (apple id, itunes, support etc) and I can't find a link/eplanation/contact point that deals with deleting apple ID and itune store accounts. Surely this must be possible?
It's possible, but Apple is very reluctant to do it, and it's not something a user can do on their own. It would be better to just stop using the UK account rather than trying to get it deleted. Just remove your payment information and there should be little reason to have the account deleted. If you really want to try, though, you'll need to send a message to iTunes support specifying that you want the account cancelled.
On a completely different matter, I have bought my son an ipod touch. But since he is younger than 13 years old, how does one go about using the itunes store to get music onto his ipod touch?

Has anyone successfully used the ZTE Open C with an AT&T microcell?
I have a ZTE Open C and have had no issues with initial setup w/AT&T. However, like most newer phones the voice signal reception is very weak.
I've had an AT&T Microcell before, but I don't have one now. For those that are unaware, the microcell allows 3G phones to connect via a 3G signal, but the call is routed through a home broadband internet connection.
Has anyone successfully used a ZTE Open C w/Firefox OS AND used an AT&T microcell? If yes, did you need to do anything special on the phone or with Firefox OS.I don't use a ZTE Open C, however, I do have a ZTE Open (Original) on AT&T and so I'll see if I can help ;D
I know someone who has a Microcell, and I have used it myself a few times. However, the microcell only works if you have entered in your phone number into settings of the Microcell.
Check the Microcell settings.
Check the data connection settings on your FxOS device
Make sure your Microcell is properly connected to WiFi
and check the AT&T support page for more info

I have recently installed this hookup in my vehicle. it's pretty cool and works well. it displays the song title and info on my xm ready stereo. The only problem i have is when i skip to the next song it skips one too many and skips over the next to the next song. Does anyone have this product and have you had similar problems?
that is true Angela...toyota uses the same unit for all the cars...the only issue they seem to have is when trying to integrate with the toyota's that have the factory NAV system, or the built in 5 disk changer in the dash.. I think the most flexible unit that I have found is this one....

It allows you to use 2 different modes, one being direct control from the iPod, none of the others that I have found allow you complete control from the head unit, they all seem to want you to make up multiple playlists and treat those lists as a CD's in a trunk mounted cd changer...which to me seems a bit clunky. -
How To Use The Same Library - MacBook Pro's And Windows XP Pro?
Background: I have a fully configured MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.3. Also, I run Windows XP Pro SP3 using Parallels Desktop. My primary iTunes Library and all content is stored on an external hard disk and the iTunes is "pointed" to that location by setting the iTunes' Preferences' Advanced Settings to the full path where the Library is located. Everything I have inside iTunes works perfect - the size if the Library is over 225GB!
BUT, when I install and use iTunes on my Windows XP Pro operating system (under Parallels), the contents of the Library SEEMS to work okay (while I'm in Windows) but the Windows' iTunes Library location in Preferences' Advance Tab is NOT THE SAME LOCATION AS IS THE MAC's LIBRARY LOCATION! It is not at the same location as my main/primary iTunes Library is "pointed to".
The problem occurs when I close Windows and return to the Mac OS X and then try to use my primary iTunes. All of the contents (and any content) within iTunes no longer work! When I attempt to play ANY song, movie, TV show, music video, audiobook, etc., a message pops up saying in effect "Location of 'x' can't be found, do you want to locate it?" I can then click 'yes' and navigate to the Library file that contains the song's file and it will then play fine, as it should. BUT, ONLY THAT SINGLE SONG WILL WORK - THE REMAINING 225GB STILL DON'T WORK!!!
So, I am forced to go into iTunes' Preferences' Advanced tab and click on "Change Location" then navigate to the proper library file (NOTE, THE LOCATION HAD BEEN CHANGED TO THE LOCATION FOR THE WINDOWS' LIBRARY LOCATION!!!)! Doing this corrects the primary iTunes functionality, but only after being forced to deleting the "iTunes Media Folder", quit iTunes, restart iTunes and Consolidate the Library - a whole bunch of steps and time to get back to "normal"!!!!!
Again, this all happens by going into Windows, opening its iTunes, then THAT triggers the entire scenario I've described above - EVERY TIME!
Thus, I avoid iTunes when I go into Windows, but I should NOT have to avoid using iTunes inside Windows! I hope I have described the problem/issues well enough that someone of you experts can provide a practical solution for me.
A potential remedy I've thought of is: Go into Windows' iTunes then go into its Preferences' Advance tab and change ITS location to be the exact same location as the primary Mac OS X's, click OK, then immediately close that iTunes.
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE IT WILL WORK - I.e., USING THE EXACT SAME LIBRARY LOCATION FOR BOTH iTUNES?????
IF THIS WOULD WORK, WHAT ELSE MUST I DO TO EITHER iTUNES OR TO BOTH iTUNES TO USE BOTH iTUNES

LarryNote that sharing a folder between different OS that use different file paths is not recommended as some files can have an absolute path or other OS specific data.
You can click the Choose Folder button if you want to create or use a folder in a different location.<br />
Make sure to select an empty folder (you need to create this folder in advance) and not a folder that already has files as Firefox will use the specified location in this case.
