ANYONE REALLY DEPLOYED EXCHANGE 5.5 PORTLET

Hi,
I would like to enquire that I have configured everything as
per the installation guide by Oracle. The test with the exchange
resulted a "valid" output. I added a provider with the schema
Portal30. I got an error "500: Internal Server Error". I created
one user called test on both in Exchange server and here in
Portal. When I entered through "test" user, it asked me the
authentication screen. When I entered "test" with the password,
once again it shows "500: Internal Server Error".
Please let me know if you really know something regarding
this. I am anxiousely waiting for your earliest reply.
thanks in advance,
Hassan

Hassan,
Could you provide me with the details of your environment?
- Exchange 5.5 (SP4?) on Win NT4
- IIS (version?) on ?
- Portal version?
- JPDK version?
- DB version?
- are exchange and IIS on same machine?
- did you install outlook web access on the IIS machine?
Thanks,
James

  • Exchange 5.5 portlet refresh fails

I have installed Exchange 5.5 Portlet, onto POrtal 3.0.9.8.3 running on 2000, and everything seems to be fine - the test pages of IIS worked, as did the External APplications test. When placed on a page, the Inbox and Calendar portlets appear correctly on a page. Items can also be succesfully opened, with correct prompting for SSO and OWA logins.
However, the following actions cause the portlets to be redrawn as just portlet header bars, with no data being displayed, and no apparent way of re-populating them other than closing the session and starting again:-
    - going to the customize screen and returning
    - clicking on the Next link for the next 10 messages
    - refeshing
    - using Back and FOrward buttons.
Does anyone have any help to offer me on this?
    Many thanks

  • How to deploy a JSR-168 Portlet in Weblogic?

I am running WLS 8.1 with the advanced JSR-168 support installed (not yet running

    portal?
    Thanks!
    -David

You cannot simply "deploy" a JSR 168 portlet into Weblogic using a WAR file in
my experience. This is what I did to achieve deployment of a JSR 168 portlet in
    BEA WLS 8.1SP2:
    * File | New | Portlet | Java Portlet
    * Just type in the name of your view class name when asked for it.
This creates a "YourAppName.portlet" file, which I believe Bea requires for any
Portlet in order to make it available for use in their portals.
    * Add your files (*.jar, *.java *.jsp, etc).
    * Modify WEB-INF/portlet.xml to include all required descriptor elements that
you have in your WAR file (keep in mind that there is only one portlet.xml for
all portlets in a single web application)
I was unable to use redirects for some reason, but it worked fine with include.

    Hi Garima,
    Please check the following:
    1. Add dhbcore.jar also to aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda and deploy it.
    2. Check the existence of your JMS drivers.
    3. Check the following link and Install the drivers as the way it is mentioned in the guide 'How To Install And Configure External Drivers For JDBC & JMS'

  • Deploying Standard JSR 168 Portlets Without JDeveloper

Is there a way to deploy standard JSR 168 portlets without using JDeveloper?

    Yes,
You can use the Enterprise Manager web-app to do it, or you can do it from the command line on the server you want to deploy it to, or you can do what we do,
which is use an ant task which uses the jar from jdeveloper to do the deployment.
The tools dont care if it is a jsr 168 portlet or not, it just knows how to deploy an ear.
Let me know if you would like to see the ant task.

  • Exchange 5.5 Portlet, versions, and CDO Error

I am unable to get the Exchange 5.5 Portlets to work. I am
running Portal 3.0.9.8.0, Exchange Server 5.5 SP3 (does it need
to be SP4?), and IIS 5.0 on Win2K. The Exchange Server is
running on another box (WinNT SP5).
When running the test.asp file I get the following:
    CDO Version: 1.21
    Collaboration Data Objects error '000043ed'
    [ - [(80004005)]]
    /ExchangePortlets/test.asp, line 33
I added the line reporting the CDO version this machine is using
(it came from the MS Outlook XP install) Would this cause
problems seeing it is slightly newer then the CDO library on the
    Exchange server?
Anyway, I continued through the instructions despite the above
error and added the portlet, however it simply reports the "User
authentication failed. Please..." message all the time,
    regardless of the credentials entered.
Another note, when attempting Stage 5 step 2 of the
instructions, Login to the Exchange External Application, after
I enter the details I get a plain looking form with all the
field boxes again, empty. I had seen someone else mention this
behaviour but there was no solution.
    Any help out there?

    I've found out what's causing
    [Collaboration Data Objects - [MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND(8004010F)]]
to appear in test.asp. (By the way, if you are getting this in
test.asp, your portlets will not work).
EXPLANATION: When an ASP page uses CDO to logon to an Exchange
mailbox, IIS creates a temporary .mmp file to store
necessary profile information. However it stores the temporary
file in the directory where Windows is installed. Users who do
not have permissions for that directory will not be able to
access the .mmp file and they will get the
    MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND error.
FIX: Configure the Windows Messaging Subsystem to store the
.mmp file to a directory that users have access to.
    - Start Registry Editor (regedt32.exe) on the machine that has
    IIS.
    - Go to the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows Messaging
    Subsystem
    - On the Edit Menu, click Add Value.
    - Value Name: ProfileDirectory
    - Data Type: REG_SZ
    - String: Path to the directory you want the .mmp files to be
    created in. E.g., C:\temp
    - Make sure everyone has change permissions for the temp
    directory.

You can consume a Web service from a JSF page for example using the ADF Web service data control:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/bulldog/webservices/ws.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/wsdc/wsdc.htm
You can turn these JSF pages into portlets using WebCenter's JSF to Portlet bridge.

  • Exchange 5.5 Portlet CDO error

    Hi,
I'm trying to implement the Exchange 5.5 portlet. My specs:
    IIS 4 on W2k Workstation

    Exchange 5.5 SP4 on NT4 server SP5
I've followed all the directions (and suggestions) but stil run into the following error:

The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available.
Either there are network problems or the
Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance.
[Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store - [MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER(8004011D)]]

    It just times out.
OWA alone works fine. Exchange is working fine.
I'm authenticating OK. But then nothing.
    Any Help, Please????

Can Steve or anybody who has experienced the same error (as Steve has), while trying to install microsoft portlets, let me know whats the solution ?
I have Exchange 2000 though and have the latest (June) PDK, URL services and Exchange 2000 portlets. IIS and Exchange are on different machines but the same domain. OWA is installed on a different machine from IIS.

  • Exchange 3.2 Portlet Customization

We need Community Calendar functionality on a my page with Community prefernces set as Admin preferences . How can we implement that ? Alternativey we need to display read Only access Exhange calaendar, with users having no ability to add/modify or delete a calendar item. All they can do is simply read it.

This functionality is provided in the Exchange Calendar Community portlet. This portlet can only be added to a community page. Unless the community users have create/edit/delete permissions, they will have read only access to the calendar items.

  • Deploy exchange 2013 with current Exchange 2007 organization

    Dear All
our company will update exchange 2007 to exchange 2013, on AD site we already update Forest functional level and Domain functinal level  to Windows 2003 ( can not up to windows 2008 yet because have some ad that run windows 2003 server
) but one thing that I'm not sure, between migration we can not full tranfer mailbox form exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 in one time, we need to migrate on night time manybe one day we can migrate only 100 user per night, my question is
    1. which exchange 2013 server role that we will install first ( mailbox or CAS)
    2. on migration time, can we let's user used exchange 2007 to main of OWA and SMTP or not? we need all user's mailbox tranfer to exchange 2013 complete first after that we will switch OWA and SMTP

    1. Mailbox, or install both on the same server at the same time.   (Edited:  First I said CAS, which used to be true, but now you need the Mailbox role to run PowerShell, so you have to install Mailbox first.  Consider a dual-role server,
however, because there aren't a lot of cases where you need separate CAS and Mailbox role servers.)
    2. You cannot.  Exchange 2013 mailbox users must use the Exchange 2013 CAS.  You can have users use their respective CAS while migrating, but that requires two sets of URLs and is therefore more confusing for the end user.  I recommend planning
to deploy Exchange 2013 CAS, a legacy URL for Exchange 2007, and switch your hostnames to Exchange 2013.  This is all spelled out in the Exchange 2013 documentation.

  • Autodiscover after deploying Exchange 2013 CAS in a Exchange 2007 organization

I am deploying Exchange 2013 CAS in a Exchange 2007 organization. Will all the clients be directed to the Exchange 2013 CAS servers for autodiscover. Will there be any issue with outlook clients connecting to their mailbox servers in Exchange 2007

All clients should be pointed to the Exchange 2013 CAS for the autodiscover service. This means:
    A. For local clients
You need to modify the autodiscover Internal URI on the Exchange 2007 server and point it to Exchange 2013. For example, if you are using split-brain DNS on the Local Network and mail.yourdomain.com is resolved to Exchange 2013 local IP, the Exchange 2007
Autodiscover Internal URI should be "https://mail.yourdomain.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml"
Exactly the same way, you should modify the Exchange 2013 Autodiscover Internal URI and use the same address "https://mail.yourdomain.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml"
    B. For remote clients - all clients will hit the Exchange 2013 CAS first (ex. mail.yourdomain.com)
If the user's mailbox is on Exchange 2007 server, the correct XML will be generated and provided, and the user will be proxied for Outlook Anywhere/ActiveSync and redirected for OWA/WebServices
If the user's mailbox is on Exchange 2013 server, the correct XML will be generated and provided
Bottom line - based on the location of the user's mailbox, Exchange 2013 will generate and provide the correct XML file (there is not proxying involved in providing the Autodiscover info).
