Anyone seeing form field display glitches in Safari 6?

Things like text that disappears as you type (but it's really still there) in heavily styled form fields. Might be a CSS issue. It seems to crop up after running the app for several hours and can be helped by restarting.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Quit then relaunch Safari.

Single Record Form: fields display with the wrong width

I'm laying out fields on a single record form and notice that the width of the fields displayed when I run the form is less than the width I specify on the "Edit Page Item" page. Here are 3 examples:
field 1: Display as=text, Width=100, Maximum Width=100, ==> displayed width=76
field 2: Display as=text, Width=50, Maximum Width=50, ==> displayed width=46
field 3: Display as=textarea Width=100 Maximum Width=100 ==> displayed width=100
Anyone know why this is happening? I'm trying to layout the form so that it has a pleasing look. It's hard to get the fields lined up when they don't display according to the widths specified.

Setting the Width of the Page Item sets the input elements "size" attribute. HTML rendering based on size attribute is not a precise as you need. You should use CSS for precision. See Compatibility Notes

Form Field Display Only

Is there anyway within ADDT to specify a form field that is input on insert but display only on update? Marking the field read-only makes it so for both. I would like to let the user input the data, not be able to change it, but still see it for reference.

If I understood correctly you want to allow the user to input data on insert but only be able to see the field value on update. You can make a form field available on insert/update/or both and have it display as text (so that the user can see if for reference but not be able to change it) by clicking on the Manage Dynamic Form wizard icon in the Developer Toolbox bar and changing the corresponding settings.
<br />These options however don't cover your scenario as you want the field to be editable on insert only. I tried tweaking the generated ADDT code but it didn't work. The only other way to do this that I can think of would be to add the read-only attribute dynamically, that is on update only. The code to add to the field would simply be:

This code simply checks to see if a record ID is being passed to the dynamic form page and if it is then we know we're on an update page so the readonly field attribute is added (I code in VBScript so the code might be slightly different in your case).

Form field displaying but not in session state

I have a form which displays data depending on node selected in a tree. The data displays ok and allows me to update but If I try to access a value ( I want to filter a select list ) its empty.
Displaying all session values reveals that only the primary key of the form is held in sessikon state. I have set the value I want to read to 'Display as Text ( saves state )'

I have 2 regions, a tree and a form. The form was created with the wizard and I added the tree afterwards.
The tree nodes are links which branch to the same page and set the value of the primary key field .

Can't See Form Fields in Acrobat 9

I created a form using the wizard. When I went in to create additional fields in the form field editor all the fields were gone and each field I added disappeared as well. My OS is 32 bit Windows 7 Pro. Everything is patched up to current levels. Someone told me they though this as a Windows accessibility setting my those must be for XP or something because the same settings don't exist in my version of Windows.
I can't see forms in any document in the forms editor.

I concur with TSN. What I see is shown below:
That looks reasonable. I assume this is also what TSN was seeing. The fonts are all normal Arial fonts. Even if you are on a MAC, I think the Arial would be replaced by Helvetica for viewing. 2 of the fonts are not embedded and you may not have the fonts on your system, explaining the viewing problem. The same is probably true for all the other PDFs you mentioned. You may want to see if you can add the Arial fonts to your system (again, we have no idea what that is).

Adobe Form field display based on user

Dear Friends
   I am creating one form. which has the three fields :
   1) Telephone:
   2) Email:
   3) Portal Id:
   My work scenario is when form reaches via workflow to Telefone person he / she only can enter data in the telephone field where he / she cant enter data in email and portal id field and this for all the fields like email guy has access to enter data only in email and portal will be for portal id, except concern person's field all other fields become read only.
I have design the form and successfully trigger it via UWL as well. but all the field are allow to enter data as i dont know how to controll them. I have the role in my bsp's controller do_init method but dont know how to utilize this info to set as read-only for non concern users.
Is ther any way to achieve this please tell me how I can achieve this functionality. your any help will be appreciated.

Field displays AFRange_validate in PDF template

I have created a pdf template, and added a few fields for calculation. I have set validation rules for the field, but when I run the report, the form field displays AFRange_validate as the default value, I have tried giving default value as 0, but no success. Anyone out there to help?

PDF templates do not support barcode fonts in the same way as RTF templates. I have to admit, not having tried it Im just thinkning out of the box. But you ought to be able to hightligh a field in the Adobe form and set the font to a barcode one on your client. The key will be to ensure that the PDF engine can access the font on the server. And thereby hangs a tale - does the PDF engine 'look' for fonts when processing a PDF template. I'll drop the dev team a mail to ask.

Help needed in RTF form field to display yes or no based on xml value

Hi,
I have the data in xml as follows: <CP_ZERO_COST>2</CP_ZERO_COST>
Now my requirement is, if CP_ZERO_COST is 2 then the column should display 'No' and if CP_ZERO_COST is 1 the column should display 'Yes'. Now this 'yes' or 'no' is not coming in xml tag. I need to do that in RTF form field.
Could anyone please tell me how to do that?

How to display/edit timestamp in a Form Field ?

Hello,
i have a table which has a TIMESTAMP column and i have a form based on this. What i want is to be able to have a user see it during displaying in a form and be able to insert or modify these timestamp values. I looked through the various DATE pickers in Page Item | Display as, but i didn't find a suitable one for TIMESTAMPs. The closest one to my needs is that of DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI but if i use it the user can't provide seconds and if form in update mode, when the user presses save without actually making any modifications the seconds part of the field is lost.
Any idea how to solve this situation? Have you had such a similar problem in your implementation? How do you implement in your applications TIMESTAMPS?

In our applications we have used non-database date fields to handle the user display/entry side of life and then manually populated these fields from the (hidden) timestamp fields during record 'build' and then used a process to set the timestamp field to match the user-updated date field during submit - in our case we're also using timezones.
It's a pain... I'd like a better alternative!

Copy and Paste from Safari to MS Word Text Form Field adds a trailing space

I know this is just a minor issue, but an inconvenience for me nonetheless.
When I go to the same page and copy and paste the same text from Firefox, the trailing space is not added.
What I find puzzling is that when I paste the same copied text into notepad from Safari, it does not add the trailing space.
So it is likely an issue with MS Word's method of pasting text, but strange to me that it does not happen from Firefox.
Is there a way to inspect the exact contents of the clipboard to see if there are any differences?
I just did a little bit more testing, and found that Word only adds an trailing space when I paste into a "Text Form Field" from only Safari.
Maybe the solution is to stop using MS Word. (Ha, Ha)

OK, I think I found another way to describe my issue:
When I copy text from a webpage in Safari, some form of "meta-information", or formatting data, is kept, and when I paste into MS Word, the formatting from the webpage is retained. In my default setup of Firefox, this formatting meta-information is not retained, it only copies the plain-text.
So my question is actualy: How do I prevent Safari from retaining formatting data, and only copy the plain-text?
I have been testing some clipboard managers, and have yet to find one that will auto-filter out formatting data from text that I copy, but they can after interaction.
The other, current, method I have been using is to:
1. select and copy the text in Safari
2. paste text into notepad
3. select and copy text from notepad
4. paste de-formatted text into MS Word
Or in Firefox:
1. select and copy the text in Firefox
2. paste text into MS Word (no formatting retained)

Issue with filling out form fields in Safari?

Has anyone noticed any issues with filling out form fields (specifically text boxes) in Safari 6.0.2 on Mac OS 10.8.2? When I attempt to test forms I've created, there is a delay when typing values into text boxes. Other types of input controls (check boxes, drop down lists, etc.) appear to work fine. As far as I can tell, this only occurs with Safari 6.0.2 in Mac OS 10.8.2. Prior versions of Safari do not have this issue, nor does Firefox in the same OS environment. When I refresh the form, the delay is not as noticeable. I'm searching the WebKit bug reports as well, but nothing seems to point to this issue. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone use acrobat 9 to set form fields that auto center?

I am trying to set form fields for a form and am having trouble. The input needs to go all the way to the left when done but spaced evenly ovver a set area. This is confusing I know/ I have attached (2) samples. # 1 is the way I want to be able to fill the form. And # 2 is the form I am trying to set up. Any help would be amazing.

Customer wants to see Discount Field and Quantity field in Sales order Form

Highly appreciate if you provide the solution for below issue:
My customer requirement is to see Discount field in sales order lines screen...They want to know how much percentage of discount they are giving to customer, if they want to modify for respective line they modify in that field.
Standard functionality discount field is NOT there in SO lines for because they manual enter discount in SO form, system should calculate Discounted price.
One more required if they enter Item code, able to see available quantity bottom of the form Sub inventory wise, Availability, resealable.
Current standard functionality supports - Click Availability button to check the availability..Its very difficult for them to check for each and every line item, is there any functionality to support this issue.

Both of your requirements should be customised.
There is no standard functionality which attains your requirements.
For my present project, we have customised 2 seperate reports, one which shows the availability of the items in subinventory and locator.
Also a report which shows discount for all the lines and for the entire order.

How Do I Display A Hidden Form Field On Executing A Button (Yes Again But In More Depth)

Yes, I just asked this question but was not specific enough. Ive looking for code within a JavaScript that will enable a hidden form field within a PDF to be displayed.
What I am attempting to do is to display form field 'Text1" when the button is pushed executing a check of the system date. Im looking for the code to execute the following:
If the system date is equal to or greater then '2009/02/01' (yyyy,mm,dd), then display 'Text1'.
I'm using Adobe pro 8.

You could so something like the following in the Mouse Up event of the button:
