Anyone successfully installed SOA [Advanced] & Service Registry 10.1.3.1 ?

Hi all,
has anyone found a reproducable process for a clean install of:
- Oracle Database 10g Express
- SOA Suite 10.1.3.1, advanced install (as required by Service Registry)
- OracleAS Service Registry 10.1.3.1, standalone
all on a single Win XP machine ?
I have no particular requirements regarding config/topology at this stage, I would simply get it all up and running locally, to get to a state where I can reproduce http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/soa-suite-best-practices/reusable-soa.html.
I have followed the documentations in:
- "Oracle Application Server Installation Guide", sections 1.3.5., 5.2.2
- "Integrating Oracle BPEL Process Manager with the Oracle Application Server Service Registry" in "Oracle BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide"
- "OracleAS Service Registry 10.1.3.1 Product Documentation" bundled with the OSR
- the directions appearing at the end of the OSR installer
For the installation of the OSR, there are several issues:
- you have to specify an admin e-mail address, as there is a constraint in the underlying database field requiring a mihn length of 1.
- the new "Data Source" wizard page appearing during the install is not documented. It says that data sources should be needed, but the default values is disabled. Do I enable and leave the default name for the data source ?
- it is not clear if an installation without any HTTPS/SSL is possible
- the various documents describe different processes to be carried out after executing the OSR installer, which combination of steps is correct ?
- following the directions at the end of the installer, do I need to redeploy ? I assume I do have to, but this fails due to file locking problems.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for your reply. I prefer to share this discussion with the forum, if you don't mind. We can take it offline once it gets too specific, I suggest.
With regards to your first comment: "The Service Registry application does not require that you supply and admin email address":
I found that if I leave the e-mail field in the installer empty, then it fails with the stack trace below. I'll leave it to you guys if you want to take notice of this, as there is a workaround (i.e. specifying a bogus e-mail):

  • OVD 10.1.4.2 - anyone successfully installed the patch on Windows?

    I have OVD 10.1.4.0.1 installed on the WinXP machine in front of me.
    I've tried to install the 10.1.4.2 patch/upgrade, but it just bombs out with a fatal windows exception reported in setup.exe (although the command line reports an AttachHome error, see below).
    NB; this machine never had OUI installed before (OVD 10.1.4.0.1 didn't use it). I've since added OUI, but the error continues.
    The only mention in metalink is Note:565514.1 Patch 10.1.4.2 Fails to Apply with 'AttachHome' failed .But this does not properly describe or address the error I am seeing.
    Has anyone successfully installed the 10.1.4.2 patch for OVD?

    AttachHome Failed.Oracle Home already exists at this location. Select another location.

    Thanks for the suggestion Kiran, but it doesn't help.
    In fact the D:\Oracle\OViD\inventory\ContentsXML\comps.xml file is created by the patch, and doesn't contain any home information.
    I'm thinking the 'AttachHome' is a red herring. The forked setup.exe process is actually crashing with an exception, and it is the parent process (OVD10142_Server.exe) that seems to be interpreting this as an 'AttachHome' failure.
    I've given up on this - word I got from Oracle is to wait for the 10.1.4.3 patch which should be out soon.
    But I'm still interested - has anyone installed the 10.1.4.2 patch on Windows? [Kiran - you didn't explicitly say whether you had]

  • Anyone successfully install a epson artisan 810?

    greetings all,
    has anyone successfully install a epson artisan 810 on a macpro 3.1 with Leopard (10.5.8) on it or any mac with 10.5.8?  I have tried numerous ways after reading others posts all over.  I just ordered a wifi card to see if that would get it going as wifi, the 2008 macpro basic model did not have wifi.  I can get it to print out of all my graphic programs connecting it thru usb direct using the artisan 835 driver.  It will not scan out of photoshop I have to use Espon Scan (the bundled scanning software).
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    Hmmm...accordin' to Epson, the software you needed should have been included on a software CD. Epson sez you can add a printer via Bonjour. I see various versions of the all-in-one software on Epson's website, including stuff for 10.5.8. and no, it'll probably not scan via Photoshop. I think you have to install some kinda Twain plugin for the Epson scanner from the Photoshop DVD (optional install??).   You may have to find out and manually add the printer's IP address...sorry I couldn't be of more help

  • Has anyone successfully installed a SimpleWifi antennae on Os 10.6.8?

    Has anyone successfully installed a SimpleWifi antennae on OS 10.6.8?

    Looking at their website I don't see any driver section.  For USB that would be especially important.  Direct to ethernet though wouldn't typically be a problem.  I would contact their support and ask what they have available for your machine, and/or your WiFi router you use.  The router is whatever distributes the internet wirelessly from your modem (sometimes the modem itself).  If you are trying to pickup someone else's WiFi, note the security of it may not always be reliable unless you know their WPA2 password is fairly good.

  • Anyone successfully install on iBook G4?

    I have 3 iBook G4 12" 1.2Ghz. I tried on all, but they all can't read the disk. But, the same disk successfully installed on MBP and Powermac G4. Any advise? Thank you.

    I've successfully installed on an iBook G4 (1Ghz, 512Mb), as well as a G4 iMac (flat panel, 700Mhz(!), 512Mb), a G4 Mac Mini (1.25Ghz, 1Gb), and 2 Intel Macs (with a family license pack). In fact, the iMac and the Mini both have non-functioning CD/DVD drives, and so I installed on them by rebooting them in target disk mode and connecting them to the iBook, where I could read the Leopard install disk. I'm actually seeing reasonable performance on the iMac, even though it has below the minimum processor speed and the minimum amount of memory.
    With a few minor difficulties, I've got Time Machine running on all of them, and backing up across the network to a big drive hanging off the Mini. I still have yet to see any real problems on any of the machines: no crashes, not even any need to force quit applications. I know some people are having problems with Leopard, but in general I think it has worked quite well on a broad class of machines. So hang in there.
    For this particular problem, clarify whether your iBook cannot read the DVD, or whether the problem is that its drive is not showing up in the installer. If its the latter case, I'd guess its detecting the slow processor (less than 867Mhz) on the machine.

  • Anyone successfully installed CPS on Linux?

    We are having one hel of a time getting CPS to install on
    redhat entrprise Linux and Fedora 5. The main error was a /TMP
    forlder execute problem, now once we have fixed that we can't get
    the installer to work in either graphical or console mode.
    Has anyone actually installed thsi on a Linux box?

    Originally, the problem was that CPSLin.bin was extracting to
    /tmp/ and attempting to execute installers from there, while my
    server had a noexec property on the folder. Once that was solved,
    we encounter our current problem. ./CPSLin.bin extracts the files,
    begins loading the installer, and then gives me the following
    output:
    quote:
    Launching installer...
    Preparing CONSOLE Mode Installation...
    ===============================================================================
    (created with InstallAnywhere by Zero G)
    =======================================================
    Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported
    Unable to load and to prepare the installer in console or
    silent mode.
    =======================================================
    After a lot of Google searching, all I could find on the
    error is an issue with InstallAnywhere not running in Windows due
    to the username, but since we're on Linux, that's quite unhelpful.

  • Has anyone successfully installed OSX, Windows 7 and Linux on macbook pro 8, 2

    I just want to know before I take a shot at this, if there are any success storys of this or similar model macbook pro
    also i want to do this while having a shared partition for music movies and pics to share between the 3 os's
    also i would prefer all efi, but understand that i will most likely have to at least have windows in bios mode
    so please post your fails and successes as this may help me
    idk if any tianocore bootduet works on macbook pro either if anyone knows more about that please post
    and i will post my results and attempts
    also the linux i will use will most likely be ubuntu
    one more thing, when i first got this macbook, the superdrive wasnt recognised in ubuntu so it would boot, then fail while trying to load the files
    so i tried many things, couldnt get even cd combined with usb to work, so i waited, now with the recent release of 12.04 LTS, ubuntu will boot just fine on my macbook so i know it can now be done

    No problem installing on my windows 7 x64 systems.  Try uninstall AIR seperateley and then reinstalling it.  Then reinstall IB.  Note the more recent help systems also run Air so you can test that as well.
    I believe this is the url for air (or try off the adobe home page)
    http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-AIR
    you need to make sure you get the most recent as IB and AIR are more current then the ELEMents installs.
    Don't uninstall elements.

    One question, when you setup the Username/Password fields, do you put the text "Username" and "Password", or do you look for what those fields are called in the Name and Address Book (which in our case is ShortName and HTTPPassword)? I'm guessing it's the former.

  • Has anyone successfully installed AIR on Huawei Ideo U8150 running android 2.2?

    Hi,
    I am trying to get AIR apps running on a Huawei Ideo U8150.  When I sync with AppBrain, I see Adobe Air show up as an installable App, but when I go to install the Aop, I get an "Item not found" message.
    Has anyone had a more successful experience with tyring to install AIR on this model of phone?

    This is not an Android 2.2 issue. Your device can't run Adobe AIR because it doesn't have a compatible processor. This is why AIR doesn't show up in the standard Android Marketplace search from that phone.
    AppBrain unfortunately isn't tuning out incompatible apps, which is why you can see it there even though you can't run it. There's a few similar posts around this forum for other devices.
    Devices need an ARMv7 processor, you have an ARMv6 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=a7201a&c=qualcomm_msm7201a).
    Ouch, hope you haven't blown your cash on this

  • Did anyone successfully install the Realtek Audio update?

    I've tried several times to install the Realtek Audio update version 6.0.1.7358. Each time I lose all sound on my laptop. I've tried all the obvious solutions, but the only one that works in the end is to uninstall Realtek and delete the software. What's restored is the generic 'High definition audio device' component.
    I don't get any crackling with this, but the volume is not as loud as before. I would like ideally to get the best out of the Yoga. Has anyone had success with 6.0.1.7358?

  • HT1338 Has anyone successfully installed Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC software inside Windows 7 Pro inside Parallels 8 inside Mountain Lion running on a Mac Pro built in 2013?

    I wanted to ask if anyone using a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, Parallels 8, and Windows 7 Pro could run XP Mode?
    My experience has not been encouraging in that I progress to the end of the final mile, that is configuring XP Mode for first use, then an error message appears saying I should try again, that is I should attempt to configure XP Mode again for the first time use.  An endless loop, with no visibility into the nature of my configuration failure.
    I understand my problem is a narrowly focused, microsoft-centric issue, however, I would imagine this XP behavioral Mode running inside Windows 7 Pro is a common goal for many users, so I thought this question was reasonable to ask our group.
    Please advise, and thank you.

    Hello FatMac,
    I wanted to let you know that your "requires a patch" feedback looked--at first--like the piece of the puzzle I was missing.  Turned out, however, when I downloaded the 64 bit version of the patch, then attempted to install it under Windows 7 Pro, my installation was first searched, then my patch installation returned a message saying this patch was not applicable to my system. (BTW:my Windows 7 install is 64 bit) This failure to install surprised me because, based on an earlier evaluation for hardware virturalization support, my MacPro does not have virturalization hardware support.  I mean, based on this no hardware support feedback, and based on the nature of this patch, it looked as if the patch should install and set my problem right.
    Nevertheless, the patch won't install, and I don't know a way to query or coerce it.  I'm approaching the point of diminishing returns with this problem.  I have two applications (Adobe Illustrator 10 and Framemaker 7.0) which will run, but they don't behave properly, under Windows 7.  BTW: I did make somewhat extensive use of the Windows compatibility tool early on, but nevertheless, FrameMaker 7 simply quits at the worst possible moment, and Illustrator 10 graphics are very often blank black areas where pallettes should be.
    Thanks again for your thoughts and help.  I believed we were heading down the right track, but for reasons not visible to me, (the user), the patch that should fix this problem will not install...
    If there is any saving grace to this situation, my problem is repeatable.  I mean, it's not on-again/off-again.  When I attempt to configure XP Mode for its first use, the progress bar turns red at the final second, then complains that it could not complete its setup.  Please Try Again recouts its final advice.  (Famous words marking the beginning of an endless loop:-)
    Were it not for Illustrator and FrameMaker, I would not have taken us down this dark road.
    So long for now, and hope to talk to you all again soon...

  • Is anyone successfully using Mobile Field service - laptop version  in 12.2.X ?

    We need this type of functionality but we  are on 12.0.6.  We are considering upgrading but we were going to upgrade later this year.  However, we need this type of functionality as soon as possible.  Is anyone using Mobile  Field Service in 12.2.X with laptops?

    Hardik,
    I am using an O2 XDA II with Pocket PC 4.2. I am using IAS 9.0.4.0.0.
    I have defined a service in my midtier which outputs XML with a signature box:
    <SimpleFormItem name="p_signature" type="signature"> etc
    My PDA displays the signature box correctly in the web browser.
    When I sign the box and press Submit the following data items are returned to the midtier:
    Query String: "sigSubmit=mySubmit&sig_width=200&sig_height=100&sig=&personName=tim"
    Notice that the sig data is null.
    I know that my IAS version is a little low, but, the problem appears to be that the plug-in in the browser is not returning any sig data.
    Do I have an old version of the plug-in?
    Have you used this plug-in?
    Has it worked for you?
    Do you know where I can get a newer version of this plug-in as it must work with Oracle Apps?
    Regards,
    Tim.

  • Did anyone successfully install 7.8.2.14 and configure BI Publisher for 7.8

    Hi,
    I am installing 7.8.2.14 to gain BIP support but I am running into some issues.
    This is what I have done so far:
    * installed 7.8.2.14 and followed steps for ACR483 (BIP Integration)
    * installed QF0E02 (Actuate and BIP co-existence)
    * installed QF0E03 (IE8 support)
    * installed QF0E07 (bugfix)
    BIP server is installed and running. Siebel security model is set up, all web services for siebel are imported and so on.
    The problem:
    Whenever I try to generate a report from Siebel, the component "XMLP Report Server" just crashes and is restarted. Then I receive message "BIP failed to generate report" after about 2 minutes.
    Further investigation showed that BI Publisher is actually receiving the job and generating the report. Generation is sucessful as I can open the .out file with Acrobat Reader and read the contents. It just does not seem to bring the report back to Siebel.
    I have no ideas ???

    Hi mroshaw,
    so now I am back in the office and can provide some details.
    * Uploading templates from Siebel to BIP is working fine (so I assume the NS XMLPJvmSubsys seems to have correct Classpath etc??)
    * Requesting a report is also working (report is generated on BIP, but then after ~ 1minute I receive "BI Publisher engine failed to generate report. (SBL-RPT-50524)" on Siebel.
    * The last lines of XMLP Report Server Log before the error occurs:

    regarding the Web Services:
    * I have one one outbound Web Service in Siebel which is called "PublicReportServiceService". The port name is "PublicReportService_v11". It has 64 operations - authenticatrion is set to "None" for all of them.
    * I have two inbound Web Services: "BIPDataService" and "BIPSiebelSecurityWS". The second one does have a service port called "XMLP Driver Service" which has 4 operations. These operations are called "Authenticate", "GetRoles", "GetRoles2" and "GetAllRoles".
    I am wondering about the message in the XMLP component log called _"Error 22171 invoking method "GenerateReport" for Business Service "XMLP Driver Service""_ since GenerateReport is not a valid operation for the XMLP Driver Service here.
    Any ideas? Could you tell me about which service ports and operation you have configured for your "BIPSiebelSecurityWS" ?

  • Has anyone successfully installed JAXM 1.1.2 with JWSDP 1.2?

    I'm unable to get the /jaxm-provider app from jaxm 1.1.2 running on jwsdp 1.2. Tomcat gives a failure message when I try to start the app manually but no detailed error message is logged. The jaxm samples that do not use a messaging provider are working fine. Has anyone else gotten the jaxm 1.1.2 provider to run?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Problem solved. I had installed Axis 1.1 as a web app. log4j-1.2.8.jar is copied to JWSDP_HOME/common/lib as part of the Axis installation. When I removed that jar, /jaxm-provider started with no problem. Axis complains about the missing jar but it seems to work anyway.

  • Has anyone successfully installed RPM on Arch?

    I've read the numerous threads describing how to convert .rpm packages into pkgbuilds. But I'm trying to install Intel's VTune, which apart from being distributed in closed-source rpm packages, is also installed via a series of complicated shell scripts that rely on queries to RPM.
    I've tried installing RPM from the AUR, as well as building it from source, but in both cases I get a series of errors when running it -- mainly that it cannot detect anything on the system, not even /bin/sh. Basically `rpm -q` turns up nothing. I guess I'm probably missing some set-up steps, but I couldn't find any good documentation to help me here.
    Since it's available on the AUR, I figure some people here must've done it successfully. Any tips?

    I created an Arch package for a commercial binary rpm application, you may see it here:
    pkgname=Maya2009
    pkgver=2009.0
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="High-end 3D animation suite."
    arch=('x86_64')
    url="http://www.autodesk.com/maya"
    license=('proprietary')
    depends=('tcsh' 'libjpeg6' 'libgl' 'fam' 'libxp' 'libxpm')
    makedepends=('rpm' 'cpio')
    source=(Maya2009_0_64-2009.0-423.x86_64.rpm \
    postPkg.sh)
    md5sums=('48646ed435722682857b92c5bfa79d02'
    '3072e06e004e273b0e85637fc6d5d7ce')
    build() {
    cd ${pkgdir}
    rpm2cpio ${srcdir}/Maya2009_0_64-2009.0-423.x86_64.rpm > Maya2009.cpio || return 1
    cpio -idmv < Maya2009.cpio || return 1
    rm Maya2009.cpio || return 1
    cp ${srcdir}/postPkg.sh ${pkgdir}/postPkg.sh || return 1
    sh postPkg.sh || return 1
    rm postPkg.sh || return 1
    Basically find out somehow all the dependencies and add them - I knew this already and didn't bother to find a method using rpm or something, then run this to extract the installation scripts from the rpm:
    $ rpm -pq --scripts <PackageName>.rpm > scripts
    Now edit that "scripts" to add/remove whatever necessary, maybe not a very easy task, for example Maya requires a directory called /usr/tmp and some symlinks, I put everything in that file. In a quick and dirty manner, I renamed this file "postPkg.sh" and run if from the build() function in the work dir (some path-related things), but afaik the pacman way is to put them in the "*.install" script to restore the modification when removing the package, and so on.
    Finally build your package with 'makepkg -s', as usual.
