Anyone successfully syncing a Samsung SCH A-870 via bluetooth?

I’ve managed to pair my Samsung SCH A-870 with my MacBook Pro via blue tooth with no problems. However, I cannot send any v-card info from the addressbook to the phone, and the Mac is not connected to the phone via the Bluetooth preference pane in the system prefs on the Mac. Paired and configured settings both say Yes in the system pref pane on the Mac. I’ve tried using the Onsync share ware, but also get some arcane error when I try to link a contact from the Mac to the phone. It seems that there is some restriction with the phone contact set up, but why won’t my Mac “connect” to the phone. I also have discoverable set to on on the Mac. Naturally, Verizon has been of no help to resolve this issue. Any advice welcome.

sorry, no help here... just posting that i'm having the same trouble... but i did find some info on samsung's site regarding how limited the feature set is for the phone regarding the phonebook... it mentions that verizon's office connect software is the only way to get contact info in, but as you already know - verizon really isn't mac friendly :P and the software is windows only.
in any case, i knew i wasn't going to get many features from the phone, but at least dialing from address book would be nice!

I'd love to sync my iPhone with my MacBook Pro via bluetooth but when I use the Bluetooth set-up assistant to add a device it doesn't even find my iPhone. I wondered if maybe it wasn't possible to link the two. Also...when I was in bluetooth and "browse device" my bluetooth kept quitting. Not sure if a)Bluetooth cant connect the phone yet b)my bluetooth on my MBP isn't functioning.
If anyone who can help with suggestions it would be great..

Transferring music, video and photos is slow to me with USB 2.0 instead of using Firewire, so it would be like watching paint try trying to transfer such data via Bluetooth file transfer.
Not supported with the iPhone regardless.

Help syncing zire 31 with windows 7 via bluetooth

I am trying to sync my palm zire 31 to windows 7 via bluetooth. So, far no luck! i want to know if it is even posible with my zire? I recently purchased my zire via ebay. So, I have yet to hotsync! help me Please! And, is this the best way for me to try to hotsync in the first place? I have tried repeatedly to hotsync via usb.....but no luck!

The Zire31 does not have a BlueTooth radio in it... The method you are trying will not work.
There are no USB drivers in Vista64 or Win7 64 bit, so syncing via a cable is out too.
Your option is using IrDA (Beaming). Please read the large "Windows7 and Vista HotSync instructions here" thread for some guidance.

Anyone successfully sync with a 1.1 USB Port?

I have a four year-old iMac with a 1.1 USB port. Is it absolutely necessary to have a 2.0 USB port or can the iPhone by synced with a 1.1?

More than likely the problem is a conflict with the driver for the 2.0 PCI card and the phone.
You may need to contact the card's vendor to see if there is an update in the works, or you may want to remove the card, uninstall the driver, and try synching with the built in port. You may be able to leave the card in and just uninstall the driver but it is hard to say.
That is what the error code, 0xE8000025 is indicating to me anyway. I believe that is a "sense error".

Outlook 2007 + Exchange. Anyone having success syncing calendar?

There are a ton of messages here about calendar sync issues with Outlook but few describe how Outlook is being used. When Outlook 2007 is connected to Exchange the default setup is to use an "OST" file instead of a "PST". Is anyone successfully syncing their calendar when Outlook is using an OST file? I can sync perfectly if I copy my OST data to a PST, but not if I want to keep the OST. Moving to a PST isn't an option since it downloads mail to my laptop instead of keeping it on the server.

Why do yu need an OST?
I hte working in Outlook cached mode with OST. Turn off cache mode, then disable offline folders. You can then sync jut fine.

Well, syncing isn't the only use for Bluetooth. You can also use it for file transfers, wireless headsets, wireless modem etc (if the phone supports such features)...
When choosing your new phone, be sure to check out iSync compatibility first with the following pages:

The service provided by the Samsung SCH-LC11 Mi-Fi device, and/or the 4G LTE service, is unusable.

I got the Samsung SCH-LC11 Mi-Fi device and 4G LTE service from Verizon about one week ago here in the Chicago area.
(Note: the first thing I did was update to the latest firmware (EF07) per the Samsung website.)
I am using it with my AT&T iPhone 4 with "Cellular Data" on the phone turned off completely.
I ran all the speed tests, 10 megabit up/down, wow, great.
Unfortunately, there are at least two major problems with it:
1) I noticed almost immediately that push emails stopped coming to my iPhone after a few minutes.
After looking into this in more detail I realized the following:
   a) The modem inside the Mi-Fi device is being assigned a 10-Net / "carrier-grade NAT" IP address, not a real Internet IP address. Fine, I don't really care as long as it works. I am not trying to use a VPN, or do VoIP, or run some webcam somewhere. In other words I'm not a "revenue leak" in Verizon "parlance" (I worked at Motorola during the OBEX fiasco days), but it's nice to know I'm being treated as such right off the bat.
   b) The "carrier grade NAT" appears to have a TCP timeout of no more than two minutes. I verified this by opening a telnet session to somewhere and not typing something for two minutes. After the two minutes I typed another character, but it never got echoed back and the connection was dropped. After waiting only a minute and a half, it lagged a little but sprang back to life.
   c) Problem is, push email relies on having an open TCP connection that is idle the vast majority of time. When an email comes in, the Exchange ActiveSync server sends a message back out to the device (over the existing connection) saying the mailbox has changed. Unfortunately, after two minutes of idle, the "carrier grade NAT" has dropped the translation entry a long time ago, so the connection is dead.
So I emailed support about this. (the ticket is "WFM87599752").
In the first round they told me to go look in the device's settings @ http://192.168.1.1. Yeah, did that already.
In round two, they blamed the dormancy timer. That's obviously not it, since the modem is layer two and knows nothing about TCP at all. Just to be sure though, I performed the test again, but this time I had a DOS window pinging Yahoo repeatedly so the modem wouldn't become dormant. Problem still happened. I saved the Wireshark PCAP here so anyone can see: http://home.comcast.net/~abcbwtxyz/two_minutes.pcap Frame #339 is where I try to type again, never to hear back.
2) The other problem is that as soon as a second person connects to the Mi-fi device over Wi-fi, the first person gets dropped almost immediately, and can't even reconnect again afterward. I mean, really? Made this video to illustrate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iadz4DGXFRM

So just to follow up on this. I called to cancel today. The CSR wanted me to talk to tech support about my problems and talk me out of cancelling so I said fine. Summary of conversation:
1) Immediate acknowledgment that the two minute timeout of idle connections is by design, and no dispute that it breaks push email.
2) Disagreement with the claim that a second person logging on kicks off the first, even though I offered proof. Dismissed my point that other people have seen the same exact thing, saying that if you look up problems other people are having on the Internet, people say anything and everything.
Anyway, I continued with the cancellation; to their credit, they waived the activation fee and credited me for "time served", so I won't owe anything. I did appreciate that.

Samsung SCH-LC11 4G WIFI Standby

I know this is a result of the awful firmware with the device and want to see if anyone has figured out a fix.
My Samsung SCH-LC11 unit locks up and Green Light under the WIFI button stays constantly lit. In the manual it says that it is in Standby mode.
How do I get this to stop ?

Based on the user manual, simply press the power button to get it out of standby mode. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the device will go into standby mode. Please view the link below for access to the user manual:

Samsung SCH-LC11 edit settings file

Does anyone know how to edit the settings file on a Samsung SCH-LC11. Specifically I want to allow it to still operate as a hotspot while charging.
I've seen a post on Cnet for a different Samsung hotspot for this. When I export the settings file on the SCH-LC11 it is not readable in notepad. What program do I need to read the file?
Any help would be appreciated.

The LC11 hotspot can be used while charging. Simply, turn it on and connect your wi-fi enabled devices. Once connected, you can plug the hotspot to the charge and the charger to a wall socket. Voila! If you have any additional questions then don't hesitate to reply to this message. ^AH

I successfully got a swap out of my Fascinate with a Droid Incredible 2.
I private messaged VZW agents on these forums the following message and through the course of 3-5 days I successfully was granted an expception and allowed to swap out my device (with no contract extension or upgrade eligiblity extenstion). This was after several phone calls and numberous wasted hours trying to convince them the Fascinate was not a good phone.
If I have been rude in any way during this message, I sincerely apologize, I did not mean it. I am a frsutrated owner of a bad piece of electronics. I am aware it is not VZW's fault, but I think you need to stand beind the phones you sell and rectify situations that are bad.
I am a Samsung Fascinate owner and to say the least this phone has been the biggest source of frustration I have ever had to endur in the 20+ years I have owned a cellular phone.
The have been number rous issues with my original phone and the replacement (certified replacement) phone I have gotten. These issues include, but are not limited to:
1. glitchy UI
2. constant forecloses and freezes
3 auto reboots
4. inoperable phone for 20 - 30 minutes at a time. Can't access apps, can't make calls, can't send texts, phone is useless to me.
5. not receiving calls/texts
6. missing voicemails
7. increased battery drain
8. random flickering of screen lights while using the phone.
Now I have performed the following steps at the suggestion of VZW tech support on both my orginal phone an replacement phone
1. Hard resets, factory resets
2. Soft resets,
3. Clear cache on the phone
4. Removing apps
5. Updating roaming capabilities
After all these issues and all the suggestion on fixes, the phone still performs poorly and is not a reliable phone at all. Like I stated previously i am beyond frustrated.
I am aware these problems are software issues not a hardware issue; a refurbed Fascinate will not correct them. Hard resets do not fix the problems. I have scoured the message boards on this website (VZW forums) and I am aware the VERIZON is aware of all these issues with multiple Fascinate users.
I am asking to be allowed to swap my Fascinate for another, DIFFERENT model of phone. I am fine if that is a refurb, as long as it is a DIFFERENT model of phone and not a Fascinate. I know this is possible because users on your very own forum are stating it has been done. I am asking it be done in my case
Best thing I can say is stick to it....sitck to you guns and don't back down and don't be allowed to think there is afix when there is not.

Samsung SCH-U370 - In Store Pick-Up - Still Confirming Store Inventory?

I had ordered a new Samsung SCH-U370 on September 22nd (11 days ago) as a cell phone upgrade, which, at the time, was available only online, and only via in-store pick-up. The SCH-U370 is a serious step up from my current phone (and all the other phones on Verizon.com that don't require a data plan), the price was right at $29.99, and luckily I had a Best Buy Gift Card to cover it, so I went ahead and purchased it. Shortly after completing my order, I received the order confirmation email, letting me know that my order is being processed and that Best Buy will "get my order ready as soon as possible." After a couple of days without receiving the pick-up confirmation email, I decided to search for the phone again and check if it's still available, only to find out that it's completely sold out online - practically just after I had ordered it! I've been patiently waiting for 11 days now. I sent two email inquiries to BestBuy customer service, only to receive the same useless automated response telling me to call 888-BEST-BUY if I'm looking to cancel or modify my order. I'm not looking to cancel or change my order! I just want the phone I ordered! Can anyone from Best Buy give me some kind of update on my order? If the phone is even still available? And if it's not, that's really messed up, Best Buy. When I found the phone, it was available, and so I bought it - I should get the phone I ordered, not be told that I can't get it anymore. But if that's the case, can I least get refunded on my gift card?
