Anyone suggests a barcode font paid/free that really works with Crystal Report?

Hi fellow B1 Users,
I am having difficulty producing a print of crystal label report that produces barcodes which can be scanned.
It seems like I have not been lucky getting barcode fonts and its dimensions (size with height and width) right so it can be scanned by simple
barcode scanners.
Anyone got their crystal label to be scan-able?
Please suggest.
Thank you,
Syed

Hi Gordon,
Good to see you still active in SAP B1 forums.
I tried fonts such as CCode39.
However, I got lucky this time, the font IDAutomationHC39M worked for me, size 18.
Did not have to do much setting on barcode scanner though I have done it before
Thank you.

  • Is there ANY car stereo that REALLY works with an iPhone 3GS?

Right now I use an older iRiver MP3 player with an older Pioneer headunit in my car. I have to control the player directly, which really ***** when you want to find a certain song while driving. Very unsafe.
I want to integrate a digital media player with a car stereo (to be controlled with a wireless remote or steering wheel remote). I also plan on getting an iPhone 3GS hopefully in the next few months. I don't want to mess around with multiple devices, so I would prefer to put my music on the iPhone and use it as an iPod.
I've been looking at several car stereos from Pioneer, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, etc. that come with iPod control built-in and a USB cable for connecting the iPod or iPhone to the stereo. Most of these advertise iPhone compatibility, but many reviews I've read says the iPhone compatibility, especially the 3GS w/ newer software/firmware is spotty at best.
I really don't want to deal with issues like this, so I'm wondering if there's any particular models that really work WELL with an iPhone 3GS, preferably in the $350-under range.

I went to the Apple Store and they told me that there wasn't a cord that would allow me to play my music from my iPhone to my car stereo.
    So...
I bought an iPod because I wanted my music in my car.
I also bought this Kensington Digital FM Transmitter/Auto Charger for my iPod as well. I found a radio station and it worked perfectly.
I thought to myself, why not try to hook my iPhone up to that cable and see if it worked.
Well it did and so I took my iPod back and now am able to use my iPhone in my car using the Kensington cord!!
Here is the link to that cord:
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=F92 F7BFD&nplm=TD145LL/A
It just goes into your cigarette lighter and then you set a radio station on the cord and then tune onto the radio station on your car.
    Hope that helps,
    Sam
P.S.- Your iPhone is going to tell you that the product is not compatible with the iPhone and would like to know if you want to put it into airplane mode.
Well just select "NO" and then your phone will work like normal and play your music through your speakers and it will still be able to receive calls while listening to your music, the music will just fade out while you are driving and allow you to answer your call and then once you are done, continue playing your song right where it left off.

  • Is there a USB 3.0 Hub that really works with the Mac Mini?

My Mac Mini's four USB 3.0 ports work fine with my four USB Seagate GoFlex 3.0 hard drives. The drives mount at startup, and perform at expected USB 3.0 speeds. But, when I connect the drives to a USB 3.0 HUB to free up the Mac's USB ports for other devices, typically two of the USB Seagate drives will mount at startup, but two won't. There's a fix for this: after startup, I simply disconnect AC power from the drives that didn't mount, and reconnect the power a few seconds later. Now all my drives are mounted, they perform properly, and other USB devices connected to other Mac Mini USB ports (a mouse, a USB midi interface) work just fine as well. It's annoying, though, to have to perform this extra disconnect-reconnect step every time. I've tried two different USB 3.0 HUBs -- one from Uspeed and one from Satechi -- and I have exactly the same problem with both. Question: Is anybody else experiencing the same thing with a late 2012 Mac Mini and a USB 3.0 Hub? Has anybody found a 3.0 Hub that doesn't have this issue with the Mac Mini?

The USB 3.0 hub instability problems extend beyond the Mac-Mini, as addressed below.
At long last we're seeing progress in getting 2012 Macs to work with USB 3.0 hubs. As discussed on this and other discussion groups I've had a horrible time with my MacBook Pro Retina  being unstable with USB 3.0 hubs. I know many of you have also or you wouldn't be reading this posting.
In June 2012 I bought one of the first 2012 MacBook Pro's with a Retina display. It's been a battle since with Apple selling what appears to be an incompatible or unstable system to effectively communicate with the USB 3.0 hubs. You'll see vendors now making comments that Apple is the source of the problem.
I've been through USB 3.0 issues with two MacBook Pro Retina laptops. I've also tested a Uspeed hub, with 3 portable USB 3.0 drives connected, at the Apple Store. This was on a newer model MacBook Pro Retina, and also on a 27" iMac. All had instances where drives failed to mount during the short period allowed for testing. (Because of time constraints, we were unable to test at the Store for spontaneous and unprovoked unmounting of drives connected to the hub. These problems have existed since the beginning on my rMBP.)
I am now on my 20th hub that has been purchased, or provided for testing. They varied from 4-Port to 10-Port powered hubs and involved 11 brand names. Comments were posted on Amazon, Tiger, and others for most of the ones purchased, and some that were tested. Some, like the HooToo specifically warned against use with Macs in the manufacturer's manual and, as I learned, for good reason. That was reflected in my comments for the drive on Amazon.
The Plugable 7-Port USB 3.0 powered aluminum-finish hub that I have been testing since October 13 was provided  by Plugable after the first one, purchased through Amazon, was returned as unreliable. This 3rd, and newer generation Plugable hub uses the VIA VL812 chipset with the new version 90.81 firmware. My experience over the last 4+ weeks with this hub has been solid. While there have been problems with Eject errors, none were traced to the hub electronics. (Problems with intermittent connections at the cable connectors  appeared to be the cause of the disconnect errors. Almost all of the failures were traced to intermittent Micro-B connectors, but that's another story.)
In addition to the greatly improved reliability of this hub, I find several features of this Plugable to be a plus including:
The plug engages fully to the "hilt" when plugged into the hub giving a solid connection, as occurs on the MacBook Pro Retina USB 3.0 ports. Others hubs typically had a gap between the "hilt" of the connecting end, and the hub allowing for lateral movement. With some hubs this allowed for intermittent connections if the cable was disturbed.
The on/off switch on the hub allows the hub to be powered down when not in use.
The full size Type-B connectors on the cable at the hub end engage solidly. Hubs with Micro-B connectors have presented intermittent connections in the cable connector.
The aluminum case looks attractive with Macs, IMO, but not a reason to buy.
Overall, Plugable's support is the best I've encountered. I've found their response to questions to be prompt and thorough. This, coupled with their online support articles has put them at the top of my list. They provide news and information that I've not found with other hub vendors.
The article titled "Plugable USB 3.0 7 Port Hub Firmware History" at the below link gives insight into the history of the problems that we've been having with the USB 3.0 hubs on Macs and the firmware updates, regardless of the brand of hub you have.  Apparently, if you have the VIA VL 812 chipset, firmware version 85.81, you're in safe territory.
    http://plugable.com/2013/10/30/plugable-usb-3-0-hub-firmware-upgrades2
(One of the Plugable hubs appears identical to the black 7-Port Uspeed hub, and both use the VIA VL 812 chipset. They appear to be from the same manufacturer with the real difference appearing to be in the VL812 version of the firmware in the hub.)
Some of the firmware can be upgraded, and some can't. Contact Plugable or Anker if you're affected.
Uspeed has made improvements, but they were still unstable as of the last one I received for testing. In her last reply on 10/13/13 Sunnie with AnkerDirect Customer Support stated:
Unfortunately, the new Firmware version (908x) does not work with the model "68UNHUB-B7U" you have. The hub bellow has much less complaints about Mac issue. We suggest that you order this one.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009Z9M3DY
    AnkerDirect Customer Support
Note that the above hub recommended by Anker has an 8th port just for charging iOS devices. Some will see this as a plus. However, the lack of such a port is not seen as a big problem. It's easy and relatively inexpensive to purchase extra 5V power adapters for charging, which is my preference. Plugging and unplugging devices on a hub that is powered "On" presents the potential for movement of the cables. This could interrupt a cable connection  and disconnect a drive during data transfer resulting in corrupted files. With 7 and 10 port hubs, and all the cables needed, this gets risky.
I believe the USB 3.0 hub issues we're having are the result of poor design of the Mac's USB 3.0 implementation at the start. Unstable hubs that I've had a friend with Windows 7 test, said they "performed like a dream" on his PCs. This indicates the problem is with Macs, not the (twenty) hubs I've used.
A statement from a support person dealing with USB 3.0 hubs tells what's I've long suspected: " -- the evidence is pointing to something specific to the Apple design (perhaps external to the chipset, like the signal re-driver….."
If you're having USB 3.0 problems, be sure to let Apple know by sending in a Feedback comment to Apple at:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I'm told they read and treat the feedback seriously (although the duration of this USB 3.0  problem makes me wonder if Mavericks and iOS 7 haven't had a higher priority and distracted from this. Microsoft got USB 3.0 right, how about it Apple?)

  • Custom font [OCR A Extended] not working in Crystal Reports 2008

We created a report that prints numbers using a font that makes the numbers look the numbers on the bottom of a check book (i.e. a check font). The font used was OCR A Extended.
On the development machine the font worked well. It printed the numbers with the right font. When we tested the report on another developer's machine that apparently didn't have the OCR A Extended font, the numbers printed using an Arial-looking font - which we didn't like :-(. So we added the font to the machine in the %Windir%\Font directory. Having done this, the report displayed the numbers correctly.
However, when we deployed the report in production on the app server (as Crystal Reports embedded in a VS 2005 application), the fonts would not get applied despite the fact that we installed the font in the %Windir%\Font directory.
What else do we need to do to get the font to work correctly?
    Any help would be appreciated...
    Thanks.

I don't have an answer, but I do have an idea. I am quite sure that the worker process is not seeing the font. E.g.; if you'd use the font in a text box, I'd bet that the font would not show up there either. Probably the best way to figure out what is needed will be to run Process Monitor and see if the logs tell you where the process is looking for the font. You may want to compare working and non working systems (a bit onerous as the logs are large - do ensure you filter for your process to keep the logs as small as possible).
    Oh, Process Monitor is here;

  • Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative to iCal that will interface with the Cloud? I find iCal to be poorly designed and not very efficient.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative to iCal that will interface with the Cloud so it works on the iPhone and the Macbook? I find iCal to be poorly designed and not very efficient. I waste a lot of time entering information because you can't go to a specific day and enter information, nor can you navigate between months and add information on a specific date by clicking on the date. You can't easily scroll month-to-month and once you do by scrolling through nine months to get to where you want to be, you cannot enter information by clicking on a specific day in the month and entering information. I just called Apple and they verified that this is the way it works. You cannot go to a date and enter information, you keep getting thrown back to today and then you have to go into the calendar and change it manually on the screen. It is just not efficient.

    APC, CyberPower are reliable.
    Look for 1500VA. As example:

  • Can anyone recommend a print server that will work with Mac & PCs?

Can anyone recommend a wireless print server that will work with Macs and PCs ?

Wireless has a disadvantage for many Powerbooks.  Unless yours supports 802.11g, it is not secure.  So it must support Airport Extreme on the Powerbook to have a secure wireless network.   Also many printers only support 802.11b, making matters worse, as that is not secure.  See my FAQ* on printing:
    http://www.macmaps.com/printersx.html
Some printers have ethernet ports, which would allow you to use a Wireless ethernet bridge that is 802.11g.  Similarly you could use one on the Mac, and then you'd have your wireless printing.  Ask the printer manufacturer what might be possible.  The last thing you want is an insecure network, especially if you are at most 4500 meters/1500 feet from someone who could pick it up and log into it that you don't want.

  • I need to install an App that will work with my iOS. How do I get an earlier App that is not now in the App Store?

I have an iPod Touch that can only run iOS 3.1.3. I have had Zinio & PressReader (both free Apps) installed on it for many years, and subscribe to a number of Magazines and Newspapers. I had backed up the iPod in September 2012. Today, I had to restore the iOS from the backup, but saw that Zinio and PressReader had not been installed. I am aware that the iTunes store explains that the latest versions are for iOS 4.3, but I need the latest version that will work with my iPod on iOS 3.1.3.
Does anyone know how I can get hold of the earlier versions of the "ipa" files, short of asking the publishers themselves?
And, should I expect the Publishers to release the appropriate ipa to me?

You aren't being left in any lurch. Your hardware is obsolete, and the software world has moved on. If you have a qualm about the matter then discuss it with the software's developers. Apple is not responsible for software they do not develop. This is technology, and you will just need to get used to it.

  • Looking for a WiFi printer that will work with my Nexus WiFi hotspot

On a recommendation, we have bought an Epson NX530 WiFi-enabled printer.  It does not work with the WiFi hotspot feature of my Galaxy Nexus.  The support tech at Epson suggested that we get a WiFi router rather than trying to use the Galaxy Nexus.  I told her that I would rather trash the NX530 and get a printer that would work with my phone.
    So we have 3 questions:
    1) does anyone know how to make an Epson NX530 work via the Galaxy Nexus hotspot?
    2) does anyone know of a different WiFi enabled printer that works with the Galaxy Nexus?
    3) does anyone know if the Galaxy Nexus is inherently unable to work with any WiFi printer?
    Thanks,
    Craig

This website should be able to assist you.  http://www.galaxynexusforum.com/forum/galaxy-nexus-help/8520-wifi-printing.html   I use an app called Printhand from the Google Play Store for my Android tablet and smart phones. I have a Canon  Pixima 3220 that functions great. I also have a higher end HP Envy D410a that also works great with printhand.  The Canon is cheap at BJ's at $40 when I bought it. The HP is about $269 at Staples and other outlets.  Good Luck

I used to own an older Mac, a 2010 Mac to be exact with the disc drive in the side of the computer.  I downloaded HIDDEN CLEANER to get rid of junk files that showed up when I transferred music to my Sansa Clip +.  This Hidden Cleaner worked very well.  I now have a new 2015  Mac with Yosemite Operating System, and the old Hidden Cleaner will not work.  Can anyone recommend something that will work with my new Yosemite Operating System.  I have put over 1000 songs into this and would like to add about 500 more however, I am stuck. Please help.  Anyone.

For automated tools, I was only aware of Hidden Cleaner and KopyMac, the latter of which I believe disappeared a bunch of years back . . . .   Hopefully, some Mac folks will have other suggestions.

Most website hosting services will work with iWeb created sites so long as you choose a Linux account.
If you are new to FTP, you should choose a host who has good 24/7 tech support in your language of choice.
A couple of examples are shown here...

The first one allows a trial period and a 30 day money back deal. The second has a free version which you can subsequently upgrade to a paid one with more facilities once you are satisfied with its performance. Several years ago I purchased a desktop Labtec microphone that plugs into the computer jack. It is not a Logitech product.
After all these years, it is still working helping me generating great narrations with various versions of Premiere Elements on Windows XP 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit. I am not sure if the brand/model is still around and whether or is compatible with Mac.
When I first went looking for a desktop microphone, I could not find a USB type that worked. But, it took me a while to find the "right" desktop microphone even for the ones that plug into the computer jack.
I will post this Adobe link for narration in case you ever need it.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WSED45334D-D309-445e-AF34-2AB3E3CCAA8D. html
But, I would mention something that you might want to consider if all else fails...if your preferred microphone works with it,, create your narrations with the free audio editor named Audacity and then import the .wav narrations into Premiere Elements with Premiere Elements Get Media/Files and Folders.

We will be watching for your progress.

  • Looking for shelf system that will work with 5th gen 8g Nano?

    Hi,
I'm looking for a shelf stereo system with integrated iPod dock that will work with my 5th gen 8 gig Nano that I received as a gift. I've been researching this and have a found a few candidates such as the JVC UX-GN8 or UX-LP5, or the SONY CMT-BX20i. But... have been unable to confirm if they work with this new 5th generation model. Anyone have one of those units, or something similar, that works? Also, is it true that the Apple Cradle ($49.99+cable) has some problems docking the 5th generation Nano in the sense that all the features are not accessible (audio, video, etc.)? Thanks for any and all responses.

have been unable to confirm if they work with this new 5th generation model.
If their websites do not specifically state that their product works with the *iPod Nano 5th Generation _with video,*_ its more likely their product is not compatible. You can try calling them if possible to confirm.
    Have you checked MacMall's website?
