Anyone try GSkinner's AIR Panel for Flash?

I recently downloaded Grant Skinner's AIR panel from his site
to allow me to convert my Flash projects into AIR apps. But it's
not working for me on CS3 for OSX. I hit the TEST button and when I
do, nothing happens. When I try to Publish to AIR it publishes a
.swf and .html but not an AIR app.

ow, totally my bad, i switched the splash screen and that
screen.

Flash Panels for Flash Builder?

Hi,
It would be great if Flex Developers can create their own Flash Panels for Flash Builder. Photoshop and Flash CS4 has this feature, why not Flash Builder?

Hi. I'm trying to do the same thing (create custom xmp panels) and I'm having miserable luck following the XMP Fileinfo SDK.
I've installed Flash Builder 4. I've installed Apache Ant. Dumped the appropriate .jar file in the plugins section. Downloaded the AntView plugin and installed that and then created the MySample example.
It runs fine as a web application from FB and it appears to publish correctly (creating a .swf file in the target bin and writing it all out to the proper location in the Adobe xmp custom panels folder) but when I access the File Info screen in an Adobe product, I get a tab with MySample but the dc field doesn't show up.
I assumed it was a Flash trust file issue and created one, but it still doesn't work. I'm getting no errors and I've tried this a dozen times with the same results.
Was there some step that I missed that you see by any chance?

Adobe Air Update for Flash

I installed the AIR update for flash cs3, when I boot flash
on the welcome screen there is now a "create new Air document"
option in it to create new air documents.
However if I already have a file open in flash I cannot see
the welcome screen and when I go to FILE>NEW there is still no
option for a new AIR document. this is becoming very frustarting
because if I have several files open I have to close everyone to
get the welcome screen back so I can create a new Air File.
Is there a way to atleast get the welcome screen to show up
when other files or open or any other way to create a new air file
without having to close every other open file???

You can, instead, create a new standard Flash document then
go to the "publish settings" and select the AIR profile. This
should convert the Flash doc to an AIR doc. You still may have to
edit the the "AIR - Application and Installer Settings", though.

I recently released my Kuler Panel for Flash CS3. It allows
you to browse, search and select Kuler color schemes from within
Flash CS3. Selecting a scheme will create a new layer with the

Is there any (public) timetable for the release of the Flash
Lite for BREW Publisher for Mac? My ideal development scenario (due
to the fact that I only have one legal license of Adobe Flash CS3
and it's for the Mac) would be to develop using Flash CS3 within
OSX, and then port my MOD/MIF files to my BREW device using
Parallels and WinXP.
Alternatively, I could have a dedicated version of Flash set
up for BREW development (which I do with Flash 8). Obviously,
however, buying two licenses of CS3 just to publish MOD/MIF files
is less than desirable. Please let me know either way.

I just want to say why I use cracked copy because I can not buy a
good copy from my country.
2) I do not steal or crack software I'm a multimedia
developer and I had to use flash cs3, and if you want to judge me,
go and judge cracker who put cracked copies on the internet first
(and by the way in my country that you do not care about it there
is no cracker we use cracked copies your country do).

You can use Photoshop CS4. The process is the same but Photoshop CS4 is more powerful and can do more stuff.

A very interesting NOTE to this thread. In order to try and get the "ignore permissions" box to show up in GET INFO (so I could execute Matt the Magician's solution to file sharing issues)-- I ran the terminal command for disabling ACLs on my internal HD / start up disk (as indicated in the linked thread to BDAqua's forum).
Although I understand that this was useless for disabling permissions on the start up disk (as everyone here pointed out) and allowing me to see the "ignore permissions" check box - somehow it did seem to fix my file sharing problem...and that was the root problem I wanted solved in the first place! After doing the terminal command and a quick reboot, I went in and tested file sharing on the chosen directory and I can create new files or work from existing files in the directory, with both users being able to modify / and save from both machines and each machine sees the revisions and can build from them. Bottom line - I'm stoked and want to thank everyone for their help.
The only other tweak I made was going over to my wife's machine and instead of using her log in / password, I just used my name and password to connect to my main machine that was sharing directories. Maybe that's what fixed the problem or the ACL disable but either way...I'm up and running the way I want to be.
Hope this thread helps anyone else who has these file sharing / permissions issues with Leopard. Especially for anyone wanting to do such a simple file sharing set up between 2 computers. I wish I understood exactly which tweak fixed the problem, but at least it works the way I want now.

Google Maps for Flash in AIR for Android: ~2 minutes to start up

I have a "Hello World" style AIR for Android app using Flash Builder 4 Burrito/Flex Hero.
When debugging on device (stock HTC Desire) using Flex version v1.20 of Google Maps for Flash (map_flex_1_20.swc), it takes 1 minute and 50 seconds for the app to startup to display a simple map:Map3D on the home screen. The same app without the map:Map3D object starts in just a few seconds.
There are no startup delays using the simulator.
Anyone know what might be causing the severe startup delay when running on device?

You'll need to add a valid Google Maps API key and corresponding URL back into the maps:Map3D object:

This shows the same behaviour as described above - around 2 minutes to start up when debugging on the device.

I did it the .dmg way alone and has problems with itunes crashing. This is a better way to ensure that there is not anything left behind to cause issues.
You need to backup your computer then uninstall I-tunes and reinstall itunes.
Delete iTunes
Deleting iTunes is not recommended unless you know what you’re doing.
Launch Terminal from the UTILITIES within Applications
Type the following commands:
cd /Applications/
This brings you into the Applications directory, the next command deletes iTunes itself:
sudo rm -rf iTunes.app/
Enter the Administrator password to confirm
There is no warning or confirmation other than entering the admin password, iTunes will immediately be deleted, effectively uninstalling it from the Mac.
Deleting the iTunes application will NOT delete the ITUNES or music, and any purchases bought through iTunes will still remain tied to the Apple ID used to originally buy them.
You can download the newest version from Apple, and running their installer will bring iTunes back to life on your computer.

than anything else, some websites etc but now I realise I am going
to need to learn more actionscripting to do what I want, I have
come to terms with the simple stuff like goto – basic
variables – load mov – enough to programme up website
navigation.
I ideally want to learn more about the dynamic side of flash,
mostly for designing user interfaces and websites etc
I’m after a book that doesn’t get too heavy too
fast yet I’m a little past the more basic functions

mine too (iPad 3/WiFi) hasn't this features.
Especially the flash can't be realized because there is a simple lack of a flash light.
Why there is no compass, calculator (I'm using the Wolfram App instead), or the weather app etc. I don't know...
