Anyone try to configure "wine" on solaris 10???????

Hi,
I am trying to configure "wine" in solaris10. I downloaded the package from " http://www.blastwave.org/wine/" & trying to configure . If anyone do this plese share the process.
Thanks
Partha

I could use some help with this as well ... so far I have been unable to find a clear and concise document that can walk me through configurin gSNMP. Clean Solaris 10 installation, snmpdx is running - now how do I configure it? Better yet, how do I disable snmpdx and run net-snmp?
Please, someone help or at least paste a link to an article somewhere...

  • Unable to configure LUN in Solaris 10 (T3-1)

    Hi everyone,
While trying to configure a LUN on Solaris 10u9, I'm running into a problem getting it configured and available in 'format'. These are the things I tried:
    -bash-3.00# cfgadm -o show_FCP_dev -al c5
    Ap_Id Type Receptacle Occupant Condition
    c5 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
    c5::200400a0b819d8c0,0 disk connected configured unknown
    c5::201400a0b8481acc,0 disk connected configured unknown
    c5::202500a0b8481acc,0 disk connected configured unknown
    c5::20340080e52e4bc4 disk connected unconfigured unknown
    c5::20350080e52e4bc4 disk connected unconfigured unknown
And if I try to configure it:
    -bash-3.00# cfgadm -c configure c5::20340080e52e4bc4
cfgadm: Library error: failed to create device node: 20340080e52e4bc4: Invalid argument
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Apparently it was a faulty configuration on the SAN side, the issue was fixed and now I can see the LUN in Solaris without problems.

  • Wine on Solaris

    Hi,
has anyone managed to get wine to work on solaris yet?, and could they advise me on how they did it?
    Rob Putt

I believe it will compile on sparc, as long as your not looking to run binaries compiled for x86, although I've never tried it myself. Its just a windows API. If your looking for an x86 emulator you might try bochs, also available on blastwave.

  • Install and configuring SAMBA in Solaris 8.0

    Hi
Can any one help tme to install and configure SAMBA on solaris 8.0
    Thanks in advance

We don't provide sudo for Solaris 8, but you can try with the package available there : http://www.sudo.ws/sudo/download.html#binary
They don't provide a specific package for Solaris 8 but may be will the binary working correctly in your zone.
An other package, and is builded for Solaris 8, is available on www.sunfreeware.com website.
Regarding the configuration, the method can differ depending on which version you will use. You can find a lot of examples on Internet if you want for details.

Try to "bypass" the X11 server configuration, and finish the
    installation in text mode.
Once solaris is installed, try to install:
    - the latest solaris X11 video driver patch (109401-10 )
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=patches/xprod-Solaris_x86IntelDrivers&nav=pub-patches
    - or the Solaris XFree86 Video Drivers and Porting Kit
    http://soldc.sun.com/developer/support/driver/tools/video/video-index.html
Try to configure the video card with the "kdmconfig" program,
when logged in as user "root".

  • Steps to Configure Sendmail in Solaris 9

Can anyone provide me the SUN documents URL to configure sendmail in Solaris 9.
Any other good link will also do.
    Thanks.

    I have some questions:
The server in which I want to configure is running as a DNS client. and I want to configure a local mail so I think that i need to configure mail rather than configuring sendmail.
I get a document for configuring mail in solaris from docs.sun.com. The doc name is "Mail Administration Guide for Solaris 7".
This document has the steps to configure mail but my question is:
The server is already running as DNS client, in this case Do I have to install a new naming service to configure it as mail server?
Can we configure a server as NIS server when it is already a DNS client?
Suppose there is only one server, how do you configure mail server and client server and host server..can all three be done on only one server. Here there is one server and a few PCs need to be connected to it as clients.
    Any suggestions?

Check pkginfo -l for each package.
export the PATH variable where the packages are installed, like /usr/local/bin and etc.

  • Mail app crashes when I try to configure my Exchange account

Just bought a Sim free iPhone 6, 16 GB (A1586). Successfully configured the Mail app with my Gmail account. However when I try to configure my company's Exchange account, the mail app crashes.
Reset the network settings, but the app crashes upon verifying the credentials for exchange account.
Just updated my phone to iOS 8.1.3 but the Mail app still crashes.

    Hi KingMak,
This is not an issue with your credentials for the exchange server, as that would give you an error when trying to log in rather than completely crashing.  The issue with the app crashing indicates a software issue with the phone  -- potentially a corrupt file within the iOS installation itself. You're on the right track by updating your operating system and resetting settings, but these will not necessarily repair a corrupt file.  I would recommend backing up your phone to iTunes or iCloud and then using iTunes on a computer to completely reinstall the iOS software.  This will erase EVERYTHING off of the phone (including the corrupt file) and then install a fresh, clean copy of iOS 8.1.3.  Let us know if you're still having issues after that!
    Good luck!

  • Has anyone managed to configure aggregate tables correctly?

    Hi all,
Although OBIEE supports the use of aggregate tables in fact tables as an additional source (for performance improvements), has anyone actually correctly configured them for metrics that use AVGs?
We are seeing that if you create an aggregate table which already calculates averages, when these values are used in further aggregations at the higher levels, they are actually incorrect, as they are based on the pre-calculated averages of the aggregate table, and not on the average of the lowest grain of detail of the fact. This is not a problem for SUM, MIN or MAX metrics, but is a problem for AVG metrics.
This is partly logical, but is a serious limitation for the use of aggregate tables. These tables are correct for all the dimensions included in that aggregated table, but not when you remove one of those dimension in an OBIEE request.
The only workaround we see is to redefine the metric as a metric with a logical definition:
SUM(column that contains value which we want an average for) / SUM (no. of columns in question)
At the lowest detail this has no impact, but on the aggregated levels above, this would assure a correctly calculated average.
Any advice? Opinions? Prior experiences? anything?

    Thanks Wildnight.
Yes, it seems logical that with sum all would work correctly, however i think this is only one type of common metrics in use in any datawarehouse. If anyone has any other ideas let me know.
There is also the possibility to play around with the aggregate configuration based on dimensiones (maybe introducing some clever formula in the 'Others' dimension option), or maybe defining AVG in the actual metric definition in the column mappings, and setting the aggregate rule to None.

  • Configuring networking on Solaris 10

How do I configure networking on Solaris 10, is there a single command or must I edit each file individually?
If so, what's the format of /etc/hostname.hme0

    turnstile:
That advice will only work if the original poster has
a Sun SPARC system with certain integrated 10/100 Ethernet.
They didn't tell us what system they actually had.
The device instance name applies to its associated chipset.
HME is different from ERI, is different from DMFE, is different from DNET, is different from IPBR, etc, etc, etc.
    etcetra:
Do the sys-unconfig procedure. If you have a recognized network controller,
it will prompt you with sufficient questions to configure it,
particularly if you do not know what actual chipset you might have,
and want a setup that survives a reboot.

  • Configuring IPSec in Solaris 9

    Hello Friends,
I want to configure IPSec in solaris 9 so that a win2k/XP machine can communicate with that solaris m/c using IPSec. Could anybody help me regarding this. I have a basic idea of IPSec. I just want a step by step instructions for how to configure it. I have searched through google and found many docs which instructs how to configure IPSec between solaris only and also between windows only and I have succeeded to do so. But failed to configure it within solaris and windows.
    Thanks and Regards

yes, you can use oracle thin driver.
Your connection pool configuration is actually using datasource of oracle thin driver.
    1) download oracle thin driver from oracle
    2) .jar need to be kept in AS_INSTALL/domains/<domain-name>/lib/ext
    3) restart AS
    4) set all the necessary properties for Oracle thin driver - conn. pool (refer App Server Administration Guide > JDBC Resources > Config. for specific JDBC Drivers > Oracle thin type 4 driver
    5) Ping conn. pool
If you are still getting the failure message, please post
    1) exception got during ping, from domains/<domain-name>/logs/server.log
    2) connection pool configuration
    Thanks,

  • Has anyone try to embed graphics in a sheet ?

Has anyone try to embed graphics in a sheet ?
I want to embed in the same sheet a matrix ANS a graphics of the data. Of course I want that the apparence of the seet stay when the user print it.
Next I plan to have many (4 or 5) matrix from different sources on the same sheet. This will sumarise many important information. A sort of synthesys of my activity.
    All advices are wellcommed.
    P.S.
Sorry for my bad english. I'm french ;)

Interesting challenge you have here. I have never embedded graphcis into a report and am not sure how it would work within the End User Version (Desktop) but the viewer might be able to handle this. You could try and place the URL to the graphics so that when it is displayed in the browser it would run off and get the pretty picture.
Now with multi matix on a single page... Not sure what your trying to do. You will mostlikey need to break the single report into multi sheets. each sheet with its own matrix.
    Good,

  • Error when I try to configure eclipse

    hello,
I have installed eclipse. when I try try to configure it I have an error :
Java.lang .UnsatisfiedLinkError : E: \Server_Apps\ContentServer\bin\lldebug.dll:the specified procedure could not be found

    Not enough information to help.
Explaining what you mean by "configure" (what was the last exact action before the error), and pasting the stacktrace of the error *might* give people an idea of what's going on.
