Anyone use Adobe Media Player?

Hi, i posted this question in that forum:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/593289?tstart=0
But to simplify, here're the questions:
System: WinXP, CS4
1/ How do i clear the list of played or attempted to play clips from the left hand panel?
2/ There seems to be no way to resize the window excpet by going to the tab on the Taskbar and clicking 'Size' and the using arrow keys
3/ There seems to be no way to change the window sizes within the main interface... meaning one can't reduce left panel and increase right play window, etc., etc.

What version of Media player do you have, I believe if you ae in your favorites it will allow you to check mark a specific entery and then at the bottom choose remove.
You can resize the whole player by clicking and then holding for a short delay then drag the left right bottom and corner edges.
You cannot as of yet customize the size of the side bars of the display area.
I think the idea is performance first and then features such as user customizing.

My purpose for copying to a CD or DVD is so that I can make copies and send to friends and relatives. What is the best way to get these files on a CD/DVD with the right codecs?
The easiest thing to do is to simply tell your friends and relatives to copy the files to their local hard drive before playing them. Your basic problem is that data discs have a limited real time transfer rate. Since you say VLC plays the files fine, I might suspect its player is likely buffering the data while the QT 7 Player is not.
Data discs made for playback directly from the CD or DVD are normally encoded using MPEG-4/AVC (H.264) video with AAC audio. This is a modern codec which has specific settings to re-package the data (i.e., must be encoded using the multipass option and then select the "optimize for CD/DVD" option).

  • Sick of not being able to use adobe flash player. Anyone else?

Purchased iPad to watch sporting events on Internet  while traveling. Much to my disappointment, iPad does not support Adobe Flash. What gives? Ready to trade for Zoom and will recommend others to purchase same if not resolved SOON.

Sick of not being able to use adobe flash player. Anyone else?
    Not at all.
    Ready to trade for Zoom
What is "Zoom"? Perhaps you mean Xoom?
and will recommend others to purchase same if not resolved SOON.
Then you should contact Adobe and see what they are doing to resolve it since Flash is their product and they gave up because they could not complete a version for iOS.

  • Is there some way one can change the port used by Adobe Media Player?

After I installed Adobe Media Player I am unable to access my IIS web site. Is there a way to hook-up Adobe Media Player to another port? I guess the problem started after installing Adobe Media Player.

Because I've my original response I've been getting email updates about this topic and decided to install Adobe Media Player and test myself.
On my main system (Windows XP SP3) IIS is not blocked when installing and running Adobe Media Player.  I suspect your problem may be related to something else entirely.  (Flash Media Server or frankly any other httpd could cause the issue you're experiencing).  (I can watch videos with the player and concurrently debug websites using http://localhost, http://localdomain:80 as well as http://localhost:80
I'd try to pin down exactly when the problem started happening and see what was installed.  It's also worth noting that there are a lot of malware programs that monitor / intercept and direct traffic on port 80, this can cause all sorts of havoc on XP with IIS.
If you happen to find that it is indeed Flash Media Server, their forums are here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash/flash_media_server
    Just my 2 cents

  • How to make Adobe Media Player work online?

    Hello,
I have Adobe Media Player. When I launched before, I was able to see the content. Nowadays, it showing just blank screen saying "You must be online to view this content" Although JavaScripts already enabled on my safari web browser and my personal firewall is On.
p.s firewall was always On When I was able to see adobe media player content!
I would like to know if anyone tell me how to make it online?
    Thank you.

The flash add-on is not available for Safari on iOS. Never has been and in fact Adobe has ceased support for flash for mobile devices in general. Your options, depending on the specific sites:
See if the site or sites in question have their own apps availabel in teh app store
Look into some browsers such as Puffin adn iSwifter (there are others, I beleive). These browsers use a third server site to translate the flsh content into a form that the iPAd can use and restreams them to you. They may not work with all content.
Use a computer capable of running flash.
Seek a source of the conent that is designed for non flash use.

  • .F4V playback in Adobe Media Player

    Hi Guys,
Here is the backstory in a sentence or two:
An event my company filmed and webcast had something wrong with one of the feeds, we did not know until after. The company hosting the webcast asked me to recut the video and upload it for them. For some reason the deck recording the audio for the event crapped out on me, but the audio for the webcast was fine. So, I asked the webcast company for the encoded file they used for the webcast and had saved on their computer, which I got in .f4v format, and I am going to recut the video and sync it with the audio fro the original webcast.
My problem is that, first of all, I cannot get the .f4v file to play in or open in anything. It was encoded in Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder for the webcast, but it will not play in my Adobe Media Player, despite the fact that the webcast company says it plays for them. Secondly, I cannot seem to convert the file into another format despite trying various trial software, and a plug-in for Adobe Premiere from Moyea'.
If anyone has any advice as to how to either get the .f4v file encoded by Flash Media Encoder to play in a player, or ideally, to transfer into a format that will be usable by Premiere CS4 that would be great.
Oh yea, and time is important as well, haha.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

Solved it with a forum search, mods can delete the post.

  • Codecs for Adobe Media Player

I have Adobe Media Player installed, and it works fine for Adobe Flash.
I got rid of Apple Quicktime some years back - it was a PITA. I now use the
VLC player for MOV files. but I'd also like to use AMP for MOV files. I've
seen a few sites that offer an MOV codec for AMP.
Does anyone have any feedback on this, and can anyone recommend a good
source for an MOV codec for the Adobe Media Player?
    Thanks -
    Ron Hirsch

This is extremely frustrating, I have downloaded the videos numerous times and ran into the same problem. I hope someone from Adobe will provide a resolution to this problem soon.

  • Adobe Media Player download stalled

I've been trying to download Adobe Media Player. I go through all of the password entering and let it install Adobe AIR as it said it needed that to support the player. The download window comes up saying it's "installing application" but the progress bar doesn't even start. Is there a way to download the installer and install the program manually? Has anyone else run into this problem?

I've got the exact same question!
Also, what is the latest version of Adobe Media Player? I have version 1.1? I saw a google result tht said version 1.7?
    What version do you have?
1.1 on my mac says it can't play any of Adobe's content. I've had it open all day and it hasn't notified me of any available updates. Using the help menu sends me to a 404 page on help.adobe.com
If I visit this page: http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/
and click "GET ADOBE MEDIA PLAYER" all it does is launch the version I already have instead of letting me download the file.

  • Rendering from AECS5 (Mac) for someone using Windows Media Player 11?

Does anyone know if it's possible, and if so what settings, I could render out of AECS5 on a Mac to a format someone using Window Media Player 11 in Windows XP so they could view the file?
They are unable to install any other software or codecs other than what comes stock with the XP install.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

MPEG-2 should work. If you include audio, you will get a .mpg file which WMP should play.
Edit: Sorry, I am wrong about that; they would need to have a DVD decoder pack installed which apparently doesn't come standard.

These tools you are talking about, did you configure the tnsnames for them?
If you plan to change the default listening port, you need to modify the listener.ora file under $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
After 9i, Oracle has service registration
A feature by which the PMON process automatically registers information with a listener. Because this information is registered with the listener, the listener.ora file does not need to be configured with this static information.
You can try to run one listener, see if both instances can register themselves in even they are different versions.
