Anyone use Credit Karma?

Im getting mixed reviews with CK, and my scores they have I kno are fake!! Anyone like that site?If you want free weekly credit reports from TU and EQ, then yes, use CK.  If you are looking for FICO scores, then look elsewhere but CK reports are convenient to have nonetheless.

Many people use CK.  I use it to monitor my TU and EQ reports since it updates weekly.  Just be aware of what it provides and keep that in mind. As stated above, CK's scores aren't FICO's but allegedly some creditors use Vantage Score 3.0 in their credit decisions.  However, I have no idea how you'd confirm who uses them as a primary decision factor.  If you happen to know you have a creditor that uses the model and TU and/or EQ then CK's scores may be relevant. You always have to keep the specific scoring model in mind whether FAKO or FICO and you cannot use a score generated by one model to determine a score generated by a different model.  Different models uses different algorithms that weigh the data differently.  You should expect different algorithms to produce different results.  Different models can be coincidentally close or even generate the same number in a given situation but keep in mind that coincidental and causal are two entirely different things.  Even with FICO there are many different models used by creditors (see also the Understanding FICO Scoring subforum and its stickies) and the speicfic model will have an impact on the score generated from data in a report. Also, don't overlook prior discussions.  CK is a very common topic here and all of the above has definitely been discussed in prior threads.  If the search feature isn't working for you then try a site restricted Google search.  To search this site just add site:ficoforums.myfico.com to your keywords.  An example relevant to this thread is provided below:https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=credit%20karma%20site%3Aficoforums.myfico.com&es_th=1

  • My fico vs credit karma vs equifax credit monitoring

As you all can see I am new here and have just begun my credit repair journey I'm hoping that some one can shed some light on credit score questions and educate me in the differences.
I have recently started using credit karma and they tell me the my credit score is 603 on trans union and 605 on equifax so not a huge difference however I was told by a lender that my score was 521. Can anyone educate me where the difference comes from.
Also I was looking at paying for one of the monthly subscriptions here on my fico for monitoring purposes as I have written a lot of GW letters and was just sucess ful at disputing a collection account that was not mine
What do you guys use and what are the pros and cons thanks

There are many different credit scores out there and they are all "correct" based on their own score model. Of those scores, there are FICO scores and Non-FICO scores, or "FAKO's" as they have come to be known. FICO reports that 90% of top lenders use FICO for credit decisions. It is clearly accepted as the industry leader. Your FICO score, just as any credit score, is based on the information in your credit report, you have 3 credit reports from the 3 main credit agencies, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, and you will have a FICO score for each of those 3 credit reports. Your credit reports may have different info in them thus your scores may not be the same. In addition, the info in your 3 credit reports is always changing, even on a daily basis, thus your FICO credit scores are not static and will change with time, sometimes daily based on new info added to your credit reports or simply due to the passing of time (time is one of the major factors taken into account in you credit score). Additional info:http://www.myfico.com/crediteducation/questions/different-scores-for-3-credit-bureaus.aspx

  • Which Trans Union score is more accurate - Credit karma or my fico?

Credit Karma lists my updated TU score at 644 (uses fico 04? or some other scoring model?)My fico report list my updated TU score at 666 (uses fico 08?)And report from TU own webpage lists my score at 724 (which I believe is the vantage score) Which one do you think would be the most accurate?  I know my lender pulled score will be lower so not sure if I should ask him to pull yet or not as I have to be at least 620 on his pull and the end of August pull was only 613 I am good to go on EQ and EX so only waiting for TU to come up before I ask him to do the tri merge pull again.thanks

Shooting to add my income to hubby's current mortgage pre approval so we can raise the pre approval mortgage amountto get a better estimate at what your TU score really is, without taking the HP hit that having your mortgage broker pull it would be, I would recommend going pulling a report from iQualifier.com I've found that this one will give you a much better idea of where you really are.  Barneygirl: I can't find anything on their webpage which suggests what score is being provided?  Do you know explicitly that it's TU 04 Classic, or EQ Beacon 5, or EX Risk Model II?Oh Google is my friend: appears to be the old CE score that Quizzle used to use. Not worth spit as far as scores go unless Google is wrong (which does happen).iQualifier is the tool created by Credit Plus, which is the company that is used by MY mortgage company to pull credit reports    It may not be perfect, but it was spot-on for a TU FICO score the last time I had my CR pulled by my mortgage company.   It may not be "perfect" but it's a lot better than any other place I have found as far as providing me a place to check my TU score without having to have a HP every timeThere doesn't appear to be any place you can pull TU 04 Classic anymore.... at least not that I've found... and I've searched... a LOT!  So if anyone has found someplace, please let me know so I can quit paying for iQualifier There isn't unfortunately to my knowledge (I wish there were, I'd even occasionally pay for that score); however, I wouldn't pay for a FAKO at all personally.  The information found on this forum is far more valuable than an "educational" score in my estimation.  When FAKO's equate to a FICO, it's pure coincidence unfortunately, and statistically is unlikely to remain that way as time passes. Right now mortgage qualification estimation is DCU for free monthly, or Equifax for instant-in-time FICO pull: both are EQ Beacon 5.0 which is a common mortgage score.  Really isn't any other game in town unless you happen to be fortunate enough to be a member of PSECU on the assumption they're still providing an EX Risk Model v2Interesting... I just applied to DCU.  I only have a few weeks till my mortgage process starts up full force... so hoping I can get through their estimator quickly. Equifax, for me, is a mess.... SAME information as on my other reports, however my score is seriously like 30 points lower.  It's my lowest of the 3, so I at this point it will get tossed out, so buying EQ Beacon is a waste of money   Experian was my highest at my last pull, and is my highest (by about 30 points) on myFICO.  Not worried about that one... the wild card for me is TU.  That was my second-highest score in July... and the one that'll determine where my rate will land... so that's why I need TU 04...  It's a silly game... and I wish they would bring back TU 04 on here... I'd be willing to PAY for THAT one, as the one on here now is useless.Grin, I told them that with a lot harsher language but it didn't go anywhere.   Re: Beacon 5.0 - actually I'd love to get my lowest score (and it probably is of the three in my case) as that way I know at a floor for what I'm looking at rate/downpayment wise.I'm in the same boat! I just figured that out tonight. How far off is the score on TransUnion's website if you pull it? From the Mortgage TU Classic 04. Either way, I think TU may have bumped up into my 2nd position!

  • Vendor Payments using Credit Card

We are trying to use credit cards as a payment method in F110 for vendor payments. Does anyone have any documentation or please share your experiences on paying vendors using credit card?
Process would be : Pay vendors using Corporate credit card and then pay credit card company.

I would set up a GL account for the credit card company and use it like a bank account, assigning it to the payment method credit card in bank determination in FBZP. Then you can use F110 to clear the vendor items and credit the credit card account. You probably pay the credit card company by direct debit so this can be posted aginst the GL account directly from the bank statement.

  • Has anyone used infin to assist in troubleshooting ?

I had a security problem when my firewall was temporarily turned off.  A tech company named "infin" assisted me with the problem and with a printer problem.  Since assisting me, the tech said that the company will no longer be in business.  Has anyone used "infin" for assistance because the tech said his company does a lot of work on Apple products. I am trying to find out more on the company.

How did you find that company?
Did you allow them remote access to your computer?
Did you give them credit card details?
If you google their name, you'll find several entries. I've never heard of them. And no, I've never used them - nor would I ever. Why deal with an unknown company when I can call Apple tech support or visit a Genius Bar in the Apple store free of charge?

  • Credit Karma recommendations

I logged on to credit karma a while ago to check my credit scores and I was surprised to see a recommendation for the capital one quick silver card with a fair chance for approval. I then went to the capital one website to see if I pre qualified for anything and I didn't get any prequalifications. In addition to the four credit cards below in my signature I also got an auto loan this past April is reporting and all of my payments have been on time so far.  I planned to wait until my credit sores get above 600 before I apply for another card. I realize that credit karma is not the most accurate and I do plan to purchase my scores from this website at some point. I was wondering if anyone ever applied for a card based on credit karma's recommendation and gotten approved?

It can go either wY. Approval odds discover it poor but I was approved. Amex Ed good was approved, and chase freedom very good but denied( too many cards in 2 years) I don't think ck is up to date with new policies either. Funny thing is after I was denied, ck is still saying very good odds. LolYeah CK also said I had poor odds for getting a Discover card but yet I got one with a 21k starting limit. Amex ED and Chase Freedom are both always suggested for me even though I have them.

  • HT2589 I don't use credit card but debit card, is it acceptable in itunes

I recently bought iPad 4 32GB but am unable to download even the the free applications, reason ITunes need me to review my account and indicate my credit card which I dont have. I only use debit card and I need to download applications otherwise my iPad becomes irrelevant. Anyone there to guide?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Shopping the App Store/iTunes store requires an iTunes Store account. When you create an iTunes Store account, you must provide a payment method for your purchase. The available payment methods vary by country, but typically you can use credit cards, gift cards, store credit, or PayPal.
In countries where the iTunes Store only sells applications, the accepted payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Other payment types such as gift cards, store credit, monthly allowances, and PayPal are not accepted. Depending on your App Store country, prices are listed in either US Dollars or Euros.
If you have a gift card you can redeem it to open an account.

  • Apparently Credit Karma isn't accurate at all, huh

So I bought a one-time equifax report/score directly from Equifax and then compared the numbers to Credit Karma. While the reported balances and all of that are the same, my "real" credit score from the direct pull from Equifax is 50 points lower than what CK reports...**bleep**?! Well, guess that makes CK basically worthless.  With that being said, I am looking for a 3 credit score/report monitoring service which I can somewhat rely on to be accurate month to month. I realize that this site has some products, but $350 a year seems a little excessive, especially only to get quartley reports. Are there any more affordable sites out there where I can watch all 3 of the big boys for a better price (and month to month)?

They only make money off CC recommendations and advertising. I'm quite sure that the reason free sites like CK don't give accurate scores is because they can't, because they don't have access to the algorithms that generates a FICO score. Accessing the true FICO algorithms likely costs money, and that cost gets passed on to the consumer if they want to see their true FICO scores. Right, also it's not the CK is inaccurate, it almost certainly is accurate at producing the score that it claims to be using, Vantage Score 3.0.    The problem comes in that few if any of the issuers use that in a major way.    But if I look at a report pulled from here, focusing on EQ: FIC0 845 (This is the 08 score)FICO: 800 (Score 5, for mortgages)   OMG, FICO is inaccurate by 45 points!   (If I relied on the 08 while mortgage shopping) FICO: 847( /900) Auto score 8FICO 817(/900)  Auto score 5  FICO 873 (/900) Bankcard 8FICO 807 (/900) Bankcard 5   So 67 points different! At least now this site shows you those scores, but if you don't know what score an issuer users, you can get as big as a surprise as with CK

  • Credit Karma app crashes after all troubleshooting steps

I got the Credit Karma app a few days ago on my iPhone 4S and it's never worked for me. As soon as I log in it crashes
I did all the troubleshooting steps
    - have the lastest iOS version
    - turned phone off and on
    - deleted app and reinstalled it
    - restored iPhone as a new phone
When I restored my phone as new I downloaded it again, and it still crashed.
The same app works on my brothers phone, he has a 4S too
Anyone know what the problem could be?

Hi! I work at CK and can assure you that we're aware of this issue. We're currently working on a fix for it. Thanks for your feedback!

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here. Have you checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account on yoru computer's iTunes), and have you (or anyone who access to your devices) made in-app purchases in apps and/or have you taken out any subscriptions in apps ? If not then you can contact iTunes support via this page and ask for help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Has anyone used Apple TV abroad?

I will be living in South America. Is Apple TV 2 a good platform for me to get TV shows not available on satellite TV? Has anyone used it abroad?

I am from the UK and live in Switzerland. I discovered this great work around so that I can access the Apple TV UK store (so that I can get English language movies) without need for an address in UK. Simply buy itunes vouchers from the UK, register those in your itunes account (change to United Kingdom) and hey presto, you're in!  You then simply run down the credit as you rent or buy movies and buy more vouchers when you need them. Works great!  Guess it would also work for other countries that sell itunes vouchers??

  • Is anyone using testing seeing compiler lock-ups? [SOLVED]

As the title says, is anyone using testing seeing compiler lock-ups? I've been seeing them for about two or three days. Sometimes the system will hang for a few seconds at "Starting make" with 100% CPU usage, then will continue normally. Other times it will stop in the middle of compiling and CPU usage will drop to 0. Also, I've been seeing small hang ups with patches. Maybe four or five seconds when simple patches are being applied. Bringing MAKEFLAGS down to the default 2 from 3 seems to help a tiny bit.

fakeroot would put it in the right time frame. I linked to your bug report Anarconda as it seems like the same problem. As always if anyone has anything to add, please do:

  • Is anyone using the Calendar Server to send external invites?

Is anyone using the Calendar Server to send external invites?
We have a Mountain Lion server running DNS, Open Directory, File Sharing and VPN. We have recently stood up the Calendar server and it is working very well. Internal invites work fine and are instantaneous to computer, iPhone, iPad. We have the ports working so that calendar items created outside the network work fine as well. Only problem is we cannot invite anyone with an external e-mail address. Each time we do the Calendar Error Log populates with:

We have set up an internal e-mail address. I have confined that it works fine. I have tried more than one internal account. I have also verified the settings through the command line by typing "sudo serveradmin settings calendar" The iMIP sending and receiving information is correct. There is no authentication type setting listed in the command line output even though there's a place to choose it in the Enable invitations by email - Edit button on the third screen. No matter what I choose it goes back to "login" and still doesn't work.
The command line settings mention a port number 62310 as being the MailGatewayPort but opening that port on the network's firewall makes no difference. As I said external set up works fine from Mac/iPhone/iPad and push notification works fine as well.
    Is anyone using this functionality?

I'm sorry. I forgot to add Mail to the list of services. I AM using mail on that server. Here's the iMIP portion of my settings output from Terminal.
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Sending:Server = "boardwalkserver.kuhnwitt.com"
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Sending:UseSSL = yes
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Sending:Username = "calendarserver"

    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Sending:Port = 465
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Enabled = yes
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:MailGatewayPort = 62310
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Receiving:Server = "boardwalkserver.kuhnwitt.com"
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Receiving:UseSSL = yes
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Receiving:Username = "calendarserver"
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Receiving:PollingSeconds = 30
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Receiving:Type = "imap"
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Receiving:Password = "password"
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:Receiving:Port = 993
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:AddressPatterns:_array_index:0 = "mailto:.*"
    calendar:Scheduling:iMIP:MailGatewayServer = "localhost"
So Add mail to the services being used. Since Calendar is running on the mail server one would assume that it could communicate with it fairly easily.
