Anyone using Tunes4Mac Video Converter Platinum???

Hi all
I bought this program a while back so i could have another method of backing up all my itunes ( legally purchased ) videos, tv seasons etc after suffering a HDD failure and loosing a fair chunk. I now have nearly 3.5Tb of data that i would be very unhappy to loose due to another hardware problem.
The T4M VCP program seemed to work fine without any hassle to start with then after about 3 months it started to just convert audio and then nothing just producing a 8kb output file.
A load of emails to the makers ended up with another download which seemed to work even though the version i had said it was the latest !!!
all went well  for a while, about another 3-4 months and then same sort of problems again.
this time i was told to down load and use MV4ConverterPlus not platinum.....again seemed to cure it although i'm pretty sure this was a cheaper program and a refund of some sort should have been due.
Now......3 months again you guessed it same old problems......
Currently waiting on a response from the makers again but this is getting beyond a joke.
Anyone else using this program and suffered from similar grief???
It would not be so bad if i was trying to pirate stuff but all my files are all paid for and for my own use only so its not bad karma etc :-)
any help or info appreciated.

Don't use these generic offbrand converters to get footage into FCP X. they re-encode your video and cause loss of quality. If FCP X cannot import your video then use a utility that simply re-wraps it into a quicktime file with no transcoding or loss. I prefer Clipwrap which works great and is updated frequently but there are free alternatives like Media Converter or Rewrap.
But version 10.04 of FCP X should import it directly from camera as long as the folder structure is complete and you are not trying to merely import it from single mts files.

Does anyone know a video converter for a video file for internet video recordings. IVR file. I can get it to work on real player on my windows but can not open it on my mac.

Try downloading and using VLC. It is a very popular media player that plays just about every file format out there. That way you would not need to convert it.

    Everything is fine.
    -They are the right format
    -Quicktime is updated
-I have tried simply dragging them into the 'movie' library
-I have tried going to file<add file to library
Nothing works, has anyone else had this problem and found a way around it?
    Any and all help appreciated.

In addition to Mike's suggestions,  you only have 4GB of RAM and Mavericks does use more RAM than other versions. You may also want to look at the apps that startup on login and the possiblity of upgrading RAM.

  • What setting for .MP4 using Magic Video Converter?...

What setting do you use for best video when converting video files to .MP4 using Magic Video Converter?? To play on Nokia N95 8gb.
After you have chose to convert to MP4, you can chose a load of diffrent "setting/format" for the MP4 file. But what would be best?

    Here we go again.
    Best for what?
Video quality, smallest size, TV-out, etc.
The best for TV-out is not the same than the best for watching in phone.
If you want the best size to quality compromise then a different setting may be better.
For example best quality to size compromise would be something like:
    Container : MP4
    Res: 320x240
Codec: Mpeg4 AVC h264 Baseline profile
    Bitrate: 256 kbps
    Framerate: as per source
    Audio: AAC 44100 Hz @ 64 kbps

  • Image from a camera using a video converter to USB

I tring to capture in my LabView app the alive image of a camera that is transmitted to a Tv tuner. I´m using a video  converter to USB (PC) I don´t need to process the image I just want to see the image of the camera alive.
When I use a Microsoft LifeCam (usb) conected directely to the usb port I can see the image in my app.
When I use Windows Movie Maker to see the image of my remote camera I can see the image alive.
But, when I use my app with the remote camera it doesn´t work. I can´t see the image.

    Dear Christian,
I don´t know if my device is directshow compatible. May be not, because I tried to see the image using NI Measurement & Automation and I couldn't, besides the device appears in NI-Imaq devices list.
But before this Labview app I made the one that is attached, using labview 8.6 and Imaq for USB. It woked right but because of the property page object every time the app ran a window was open and no matter was checked ok or cancel it worked in the same way. I thought using Imaqdx objects I didn't have this undesirable window. Do you know why it worked using Imaq for USB objects and it didn't using Imaqdx objects?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Anyone using Elgato Video Capture with good results?

I've got some VHS tapes that I want to edit in iMovie '11 (and/or FCE).
Viewed on a TV monitor, the image quality of the tapes varies from acceptable to very good - but I am very disappointed with the quality of the video once imported, using Elgato Video Capture, to my MBP. It is very indistinct and washed out. Only the audio remains as clear as the original.
Anyone had any success with using Video Capture to convert old tapes?
Any advice and/or feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks Coolmax - I tried that, but no discernible improvement unfortunately.
These are the tech specs from the Elgato site:
    Video resolution: 640×480 (4:3) or 640×360 (16:9)
    Video format: H.264 at 1.4 MBit/sec or MPEG-4 at 2.4 MBit/sec
    Audio: AAC, 48kHZ, 128 kBit/sec
I've tried both H.264 and MPEG-4 without much success. The resulting footage is always extremely grainy and 'muddy'. Any other ideas?
If I understand this correctly, Elgato can save your footage either in H.264 or MPEG-4 and you tried both. If the original file plays with ok quality and the resulting footage after being finalized by iMovie 11 look worse, I think we need to determine what are you finalizing to?
In "Export to Quicktime", you can choose the compressor to "none". Do this with a short clip as the resulting file will be big. Play back this video.
If there is a degradation in video, then you know it is iMovie 11 process that is causing it. From here on, you can further compress the video using Handbrake and adjust the settings to give best quality vs size.
There are software available on the PC side that can enhance and resize an already weak VHS captured footage and make it look better before you import it into iMovie 11. But this require quite a bit of computer horsepower to complete it in any acceptable time frame.

  • Error message using Flash Video Converter

When trying to encode a simple mpeg file using Flash 8 Video
Converter I get an error message - as simple as that, no
explanation, just a "Encoding is not possible because an error
    occurred".
I've also tried importing the mpg onto Flash's stage and
going through the steps of the "Progressive download from a web
server" - again, nothing happened, just an error message.
    Any ideas, help, advice?
    Thanks, Raf.

meaning the file is not flash compatible.
Try to resample or another format.
Not all mpegs are compatible, they come with very large
    variety
of compressions for video and audio while flash has very
    particular
    range, specified in help files.

  • Used ipod video converter but still cant get through the sync.

i change the format of my vids using the ipod video converter which it successfully did it..it changed to mpeg4
but when i tried to sync it, it stated 'there's a problem occurred'..
    what happen??

Try highlighting the video in iTunes. Then go to "Advance" (top menu) and select "Convert to iPod. This will probably help. Then you just sync again.

  • My mac gets really hot once I start using a video converter like HANDBRAKE or MIRO VIDEO CONVERTER!!Is it normal or shd I do smthin bout it!?!??!:/

The fan begins to oscillate a lot faster and the laptop gets heated up in like 2 minutes:/

Yes, this is completely normal and it's nothing to worry about. Macs, and all computers really, get hot and the fans are used intensely when doing big tasks such as converting videos.
    Hope this helps,

  • NO AUDIO during playback after converting the VIDEO using Creative Video Conver

    I have a ZEN 2GB/4GB/8GB/6GB/32GB.
I tried to convert video from a dvd using Creative Video Converter.
The video is fine but there is no audio during playback.
    What am I doing wrong?

"If this is the case, the original video file may be in a format that contains muxed (multiplexed) audio and video, and cannot be exported with audio."..."If the format is "MPEG1 Muxed" or "MPEG2 Muxed," the audio portion of the file may not be retained with QuickTime Pro or iMovie."
I have read that article and I thought it ment that the sound will work after you convert to the MPEG4 format, which I did.
Are you saying that if it starts out as "Muxed audio" then there is no way to convert it?
If that is the case then in what situation would you need to use the Videora Converter?
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • Video Converter~~ MP4--RMVB/MKV

    HI~
Can anyone suggest some video converter for me? I want to convert my MP4 format files to either RMVB or MKV format, but I dont know which converter is better to use..
    Thanks~

No, you will need to convert the files on a PC before they can be used on the phone. I don't know of any app that can convert video files on the device.

  • Video Converter Probl

I am trying to use the Video Converter. The problem that I am having however is that the software will not recognize my player. I have a Creative Zen Microphoto. It states on the webpage that it is fully compatable with the Microphoto. As well I have the updated Firmware, and updated Creative Player/Organizer as well. Why will the Video Converter not recognize my Microphoto?-MLow90

My Zen has been nothing but a hassel since Ive bought it from Dell a year ago. Oh Why did I not buy a Ipod?
but Ok if you can help PLEASE HELP ME . I just bought another new PC from DELL a 64bit Vista top of the line.
I came here and dl's and installed all the 64bit apps for the Zen.
The Media Expolorer seems to work ok. However the Creative Video COnverter ,,after I add the file and go through the app, and hit Convert . It just hangs at zero percent . Then when I try to touch it WIndows states it is not responding.
I have tried several other films. I have converted films to the Zen format with several other apps and stilll the Zen/Creative
player insists it is not compatiable and will need conversion. Even when it is the correct size etc. yea I used to be a programmer and a Network supervisor so I know what goes on "behind" the front end of apps.
I just dont get that but I got used to it all last year.
and on my thirty two bit PC the conversion took hours but worked.
Can anyone tell me. give me a clue why it is not working now? Why it insists on converting files that are already converted , well. that is something I really do not have the time to care about. I just figure bad programming.
Oh God if I had the time to write all the problems I have had with the Zen eight gig since last year. From having to hit the reset button to sending in back , to all sorts of issues.
I know , I should have bought at least the Microsoft Video Player. or the Ipod. for some reason they seem to work.
I have been a customer of Creative Labs since 993 when I was so excited to get my "Multimedia kit" to play a game named "Myst"
it included a sound blaster sixteen and a two speed cdrom.
    Worked great.
Wat happened to Creative? Is it the hardware or the programmers that are dropping the ball>?
The web site is looking good.
well if you can help you may save a life long customer. I just do not have the time to write WOT's or deal with things that do not work.
One Peev. just one.... You state in all your descriptions of players that they play all these formats. and list several.
This is a lie... Every single file of video must be converted to WMV .
When did Creative begin to bend or use "marketing" language instead of just being techinical?
    OK Im done .
Just some facts. If you need proof of any let me know , [email protected]
