Anything equal to Cont+Alt+Del from windows?

I am having an issue where WoW will crash ( think its due to blizzards last update )
Once it locks up, I have to Power the iMac down and power back up.
Is there a way, like control alt delete from windows to just shut the game down, so I don't have to power cycle the mac?
This is a 3D game thats played in Full screen mode. Even Control M ( run in windowed mode ) wont work once it locks up.
I know mac has its own little system of magic buttons to reset this or do that, however, I know none of them since I am new-ish to Mac OS.

You can bring up the Force Quit menu by pressing Command + Option + Escape. This gives a list of running applications and the option to force-quit any of them.

    1.  I have an Revolve 810 G1
Running Windows 7 Pro (64 Bit).
When I change the screen to Tablet Mode
(Folding tablet over keyboard and using as tablet).
    I lock my computer.
    2.  What to know how to unlock without having to Open back up and use the CTL-Alt-DEL keys.
When Locked screen shows:  Press CTRL-ALT-DEL or use the Windows Security Button to unlock this computer.
I would like to use the Windows Button on the bottom of the screen
(One Used in Windows 8 to change between Desktop and Metro) to Unlock screen And bring up on screen keyboard to put in my password.
This is probably how it should work, but it does not work.
Even bringing up the onscreen keyboard via the blue power button On the screen to Ease Of Access does not work.
The CLT-ALT-DEL on the on screen keyboard will not unlock the screen.
    P.S.
Where is that Windows Security Button when you need it?
    Thanks,
    Rog

If you are using Windows 7 (not Windows 8), you should be able to touch the Ease of Access button at the lower left of the screen, then select Type without the keyboard (On-screen keyboard). When the on-screen keyboard pops-up, press CTRL, then ALT, then DEL. You should get a password prompt; the on-screen keyboard will stay visible unless and until you close it.

  • How to disabled ctrl+alt+del on window platform

    Dear all,
I am a java developer, I'm from cambodia, I don't know how to disabled ctrl+alt+dle on windows platform. can any one helps me to solve this problem. I hope all of you can do it. thanks for your kindness.

There used to be a win32 call for it, so if you want it you'll need to go back to C/C++ and do JNI, provided it is still in the API.

  • New Wireless Keyboard does not function Ctrl+Alt+Del in Windows 7 32 Bit

As the subject, does anyone can help me ?

    HI, Michael;
Crystal Reports 2008 is the only version that is tested / certified and supported on Windows 7.
Another thing that I noticed from your post - Crystal Reports XI does not work with VS.NET 2008 - are you sure that is the version you are using? Which versions of our .NET assemblies do you have in your project?
    Best Regards,
    Jonathan

  • I need to disable Ctrl-Alt-Del from a lV 5.1.1 vi under win2k

    Thanks

Take a look at this Discussion Forum. They are talking about the same thing you are asking. The version of LabVIEW won't matter since Ctrl-Alt-Delete is a kernel level method. Disabling this will require you to work with the OS and this Discussion Forum discusses the method for doing that.

  • Bootcamp perfect - now need ctrl-alt-del key map

    Hi Guys,
Installed bootcamp, XP SP2 on MBP works perfectly, joined local Windows domain - no worries - now on boot of course it wants the infamous cntl-alt-del key combo - I've tried just about everything but no luck.
In the end plugged in external PC usb keyboard, got in and turned off the requirement to enter ctrl-alt-del in windows as a work around.
Any ideas on how to map the MBP keyboard to work? Thanks all.

Ctrl Alt Del on Windows XP:
    After installing,
    1) go to Start>Run
    2) Enter "remapkey" (witout quotes)
A nice GUI utility pops up to let you remap keys on your keyboard. You can use it to remap the delete key. I suggest using the Right Command key.
After saving, reboot and you'll be able to use Ctrl-Alt-(Right Command) to do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and logon to Windows domains and other useful things.

  • Tried installing Windows Vista, cancelled install and now it won't boot from the OEM Vista DVD, all i get is BOOTMGR is missing error... Ctrl Alt Del to restart and when i turn the computer on i get a blank screen and pressing C is not working to boot....

    Topic says it all...
My friend started a installation of Windows Vista, but pulled out after deleting all partitions...
So now i power it on, get a blank screen (seems a bit gray because of backlighting, should show the apple logo right?)...
Then after like 15-20sec it will throw out a:
    BOOTMGR is missing
    Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
I have a OEM Windows Vista DVD in the drive, and i know... Windows 7 is better... but i'm not that fond of stealing software from Microsoft and i have 10 licenses for Vista...
I have tried pressing C while booting up but it doesn't work...
Does anyone here have a magic soloution for me, and no i will not install MacOS on it !!!

Deleting Boot Camp partitions the conventional way will not work . You must use the Boot Camp Assistant to remove a Boot Camp partition. Here is a link to the guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup_10.6.pdf
The way to restart is to hold down the option/alt key during startup* and then selecting the Mac OS. If you have a valid Boot Camp install of Windows it would show up during this type of start up.
    * hold down immediately after pressing the power button and until the OS choice screen appears.
    To summarize.
1 Use the above method to boot into Mac OS.
2 Download the instructions and read them.
3 Use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the partition.
4 Pick your friends more carefully.

  • Windows Server 2012R2 - Cannot RDP, server hangs at logon from console after pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL

We have several machines that have exhibited this behavior so far. Once they get into this state, the only option is to reboot. They are HP ProLiant BL460c G7 blades.
    The behavior exhibited is:
You can no longer RDP to the machine.  It just eventually times out.
Console access via iLO shows what you'd expect, asking for CTRL+ALT+DEL, but when you press that, it just goes to the dark blue screen with "Windows Server 2012 R2" written at the bottom and doesn't go further.
There doesn't seem to be any unusual notes in the System Log that I can see.

I've also read the support article that you linked, but that seems to suggest that there is always a problem with RDP and in this case the server gets to a point where it is stuck and requires a reboot to clear.
    Hi Mitch,
For the above line of yours seems there is some misunderstanding, as nowhere in the link provided it suggest to restart\reboot the server. But instead need to check the certificate related scenario.
Can you ping the destination server when you can’t perform RDP?
Now for more troubleshooting you can choose performance monitor and can see what is effecting, for that you can go through beneath article.

  • Firefox 9.0.1 keeps hanging once I access a website with video, when I write e-mails etc. If a press ctrl+alt+del, opens a window to confirm closing, and firefox works again. When I close that confirm window, firefox immediately hangs again.

It stops working if I access websites with videos, and all sort of more complex flash. It I try to write an e-mail, it also stops. I can't do anything. PC keeps working, though. So I press ctrl+alt+del. It opens that window asking if you want to close all the tabs. I notice that firefox start to work again, behind that window. But, once I close the window, it stops again. Sometimes I can close the tab with the video before it hangs again, which can take a few ctr+alt+del's. It doesn't happen with other browsers! It started 1 week ago. Is it an extension? Or a virus (i use avast)? Thank you!

  • Disable Window keys ALT+TAB, CTRL+ALT+DEL

Hello i am developing an application in which i need to catch the ALT+TAB and CTRLALT+DEL key events and handle it in my own way.
The default action of showing the next window or the task manager should not take place.
In the event handler i have given
    eventName.consume();
also. But the default handling is also done.
How do i stop the default action from being done?

Windows will not allow any application to catch the CTRL+ALT+DEL keystroke. In Windows NT-kernel OSes, this keystroke brings up a menu which, among other things, allows the user to change his or her password. If an application could intercept CTRL+ALT+DEL, it could present itself in such a way as to look just like that dialog. Then, if a user typed his or her password into that dialog, the program could log or transmit that password plaintext, severely violating security.
All sorts of exploits like that would be possible. This is why you can't block system keystrokes.
Is there any particular reason you need to override this behavior? Perhaps we can help you find another solution to whatever problem made you decide you wanted to catch those keystrokes in the first place.

  • Windows 7 Only Cancel Button at Clt+Alt+Del After 6500 Driver is Installed

    Hi,
We have a fleet of X201 Tablet Laptops and We use the HP Officejet 6500 Printer.
As soon as version 14.00 of the driver is installed on these machines upon restart rather than a username to click onto to login at Clt+Alt+Del a cancel button is displayed.
The only work around we have found is to rebuild the laptop and then install an earlier version of the 6500 driver.
What is causing this and how do we fix it as some users are installing the latest driver themselfs and breaking the laptops.

The same thing is happening all over the hp forums.  People are updating printer drivers and then the printer doesn't work. Or some functions are taken away.  I have an hp 4280 printer and I'm still using the driver from when I first installed it. Every time hp wants to update, I say no. Mine still works perfect.  There have been 4 updated drivers since my version.
It's not Lenovo and it's not your machine. It's hp's buggy drivers.

  • OSD Exits to Ctl-Alt-Del after Reboot from Software Update, leaves Clients in provisioning mode

We are seeing a problem where the Windows 7 SP1 OSD wrongly exits to the Ctl-Alt-Del screen:  This problem is occuring with about %25 of our Newly Imaged PCs during the Software Updates step of the Task Sequence (of which there is about 9
outstanding updates), the PCs are rebooted as 4 of these updates finish with COMPLETE_SOFT_REBOOT_NEEDED.
After the Software Updates Reboot the following errors are found:

I have checked the logs based on other forum suggestions I can say the following:
    -Network adapter is getting valid address;
    -I do not have a step for "Install Roles and Features";
-I can apply registry changes for each machine to take them out of Provisioning mode, and after that I dont have any problems - this is far from the solution that I hope for.

Any update on this as I am struggling with this issue for the past few days ?
Our image was built last year so when I want to recreate it, it has to do 150 updates. We don't have WSUS updates into SCCM so I had to use a wsf script to get the updates from our WSUS server.
If I image the computer without doing the updates and do them manually by running the script here is what happens :
1st execution of the script : 137 updates installed and a reboot is required
    I manually reboot
2nd execution of the script : 13 updates installed and a reboot is required
    I manually reboot
3rd execution of the script : 4 updates installed
    I manually reboot
4th execution of the script : no updates required.
If I only do 1 execution of the script in my TS : it works fine, it installs the 137 updates but then when the PC is done imaging, it still needs the 13+4 other updates which I don't really like.
At first, I tried adding this in my TS:
    WSUS 1/3
System restart (triggered by the TS)
    WSUS 2/3
System restart (triggered by the TS)
    WSUS 3/3
System restart (triggered by the TS)
This stops at step #2, I see it do the 137 updates and then when it reboots, it goes into provisioning mode and doesn't continue. Looks like there is an issue with the reboot so...
I have tried removing the reboot as follows
    WSUS 1/3
    WSUS 2/3
    WSUS 3/3
This installs the 137 updates in step #1 and downloads the 13 updates in step 2 and 3 but log file says a reboot is required to install them. The TS then continues but once it meets a System restart triggered by the TS, it doesn't resume the TS and goes
    also in provisionning mode.
Any idea on why it goes into provisioning mode after installing the updates ? To me, it looks like there is a probably with the state that WSUS puts the computer in, like it is pending reboot but the System restart by the TS doesn't seem to work when trying
    the reboot ?
    Thanks!!!!

  • Turn off Logon Help popup window at Ctrl+Alt+Del prompt

At Ctrl+Alt+Del prompt I get the window popup telling me to press Ctrl+Alt+Del to login....how do I turn this off on the thinkpad??? Windows XP.
If you click on the little blue "Help" link at the bottom of the Ctrl+Alt+Del logon prompt screen, you will see the Logon Help. But it pops up by itsself on the thinkpad....even restored image from partition and the popup still persists. How do I turn it off

Are you on a domain? If so it is probably a requirement to be on the domain. The factory preload does not require a ctrl-alt-del to logon.
