Anything similar to MobileMe Gallery?

I am researching options for my website after MobileMe is gone. I wanted my website gallery to be one nice interactive interface that included photos and videos n the same gallery without the user having to navigate thru several pages of my site. My answer was to embed my MobileMe gallery via an HTML snippet into my site. I was really happy with this and it gave me the added functionality of sending photos directly from my iPhone iOS.
I have not found anything similar, ie allowing photos and videos in the same interface.

you can have videos in iweb photos page, as long as the videos are recognized by quicktime.

or you can have photos page for video and photos page for photos, and they can be in the same albums page.

Both devices are on Verizons 4G LTE network. Both devices do have some of the same APPS installed. Can this be a case of him connecting to a rogue wifi network of a hacker that may have installed malicious code on his devices when he connected? That would explain why only his devices have the same exact issue only at BWI airport.

Something similar I've experienced. I was once having to use a AT&T hotspot and the iPad simply refused to access my mail via the mail app. But if I used safari I could get it. So the internet was working, but my supposition is that something with the hotspot's firewall messes with mail exchange.
next time your boss is at BWI, do you guys have a web interface? (for example if I wanted to access my work mail I could get them to set it up via the mail app and exchange, or I could go to a certain web address and access my mail that way via safari)
He could try using safari and the web interface if you have it.
If it's something in the hotspot's firewall I doubt it's anything that can be changed.

Try removing your sim and insert it again and make sure that its clean as well as the sim tray. insert it seucrely locked in place. See if it works, quick fix. If not try to use a different sim or try your sim to a different h/s. For you to be able to isolate if its with your sim or iPhone. Tricky Tips!

Is there anything similar to Director in the Creative Cloud?

We are considering updating our current (wildly out of date) version of Director, but there are a number of other products in which we are interested that are part of the Creative Cloud. So, I was wondering if there was anything included in the Creative Cloud that is similar to Director, so we could just purchase just that subscription...? We are currently using Director to create Interfaces and launch videos/PDFs.

Flash Pro is included with Creative Cloud so that might be one consideration.
Also, if you install Premiere Pro CS6 it includes Encore CS6 as part of the installation for authoring DVD or Blu-ray content. Depending on what you're wanting to create, i.e. interactive content for a kiosk or something

Anything similar to paint?

Is there anything on the Macbook or anything I can download (for free preferably) that is similar to Windows' Paint? Or maybe even Photoshop? Iphoto just doesn't the options available for good editing.

Why can I not access the scroll up arrow or anything in that upper region of the screen with my cursor. I dont have that problem if I use internet explorer.

i should clarify that I can see that region, I just can't get the cursor to click on anything there.

Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. If you have either or both, uninstall or disable them/it, or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

When I open Google there is a space in the middle of the screen to type in what I need to search but I cannot find anything similar to that in Firefox.

When I open firefox where do I type what I am looking for; similar to how Google has it in the middle of the screen. Where do I type in the words. So frustrating that something so simple is not easily found and your 'tour" did not show this. At this point, I do not like firefox.

Anything similar to Gradient Map in InDesign?

Hi, we're using InDesign CS3, and wondering if there is anything in the new version (or any plugins/techniques) that would more closely match the effect possible when using a gradent map on an image in Photoshop?
We have a project that uses many historic photos that are black & white. We need to colorize these with a good deal of control (so we can get predictable results, and change easily). We would usually colorize in InDesign by choosing a foreground and background color. Simple enough.
But I know in Photoshop you achieve this by using a gradient map, and have the option of including more than just 2 colors. The advantage to this is that you can include a black (or very dark version of your 'foreground' color) for the darkest shadows, and/or a white (or light 'background' color) for the lightest highlights, in addition to your 2 typical 'background' and 'foreground' colors. The result, is that these images have the same exact coloration across most of the image, but look much richer and more dynamic with the extra darkness/lightness on the extreme ends.
So, of course, we could adjust all images in Photoshop as outlined above, but there will be a LOT of images, and there will always be changes to the colors along the way. If we do all in Photoshop, that would mean any change to a color, even if slight, would mean opening/editing/saving all corresponding Photoshop images. Very time-consuming! In InDesign, it's as simple as changing the swatch color for all affected images.

Nothing really analagous to gradient map. You can use blending modes like Multiply or Screen, but that's not new.

Implement command pattern in any way or anything similar or anything at all

I have a controller class that listens to button presses from my button panel, and it also listens to mouse actions from another drawing panel.
When I press a button, it indicates some kind of drawing is going to happen in the drawing area. Only one action could be "active" at the same time. (To exemplify, put out square, put out circle, or whatever).
First I thought of using something similar to the command pattern. But when I press the button (here I wanted to create the command since then I know which one) I dont know yet which coordinates that are of interest. That would mean I would have to pass that data into the command�s execute() method, or create the command first now (right before it should execute)
Any suggestions of what could be a nice approach here are very welcome.
I know I am in that phase that I want to "patternize" a bit to much, but hey, at least you learn something and eventually you learn when not/how to use it more properly.

Maybe you could have a method that would return when the command needed to be excuted.

or could pass something else to the command that it could use determine when it needed to be executed?
I will however try to also send a bool which indicates whether it comes from a click or not. If that succeeds, I have managed to get all the commands to know by themselves when to do or not to do their stuff.
The only things that feels bad about that, is that only one command (for the moment at least) makes use of it. But I get rid of the bad smell ;-)
Add: Turned out that after all changes, most of the commands needed this variable too. Now everything feels good again ;)

I tried with $.sleep(), but that is blocking, I need a non-blocking way to do this.

I have often wondered the same thing and researched it pretty extensively but to no avail. I am still wondering if there is some hack approach using dates, loops or practically anything to make a home brewed interval timer. But it seems like no. Even using Date for checking pretty much ends up emulating $sleep() from my tests. Why Adobe omitted common timers and intervals from the internal JS is beyond me, setInterval and setTimeout would be so useful, likewise the lack of mouse events, both those would open up entire new worlds of possibilities.

I tried the "app.scheduleTask" approach and never got it working in Illustrator however. <-- I hope someone proves otherwise and says it is possible in Illustrator, please let me know if you do. Otherwise I don't think there are any solutions via JS. Maybe a timer in Applescript or VBScript however running in the background and working with Illustrator externally would be an alternative.
