Anyway for LR to correct wrong Creation date on files ?

My problem is i use to re name files with A better Renamer software back when i began shooting digital. These files all read in the column "Date Created " as December 20, 1903
the Date Modified is usually OK but is there a way that LR 1.4.1 or V2 can fix this in a few thousand of my files . I no longer re name files with this software . I can rename files in the bridge now if needed. Has anyone had this issue....thank you, this forum is very helpful.

Yes, with LR 2 you can change the date created and have it written back to even proprietary files.
You can of course rename files easily in LR either on import or after.

  • Is there ANYWAY for Loyal Customers to get 4GB data plan for $30

Is there ANYWAY for Loyal Customers to get 4GB data plan for $30. I just got a new upgrade, but I really want the 4GB, because 2GB is very little (for a Smartphone and its multiple capabilities). PLEASE HELP VERIZON!!!!
    - from your LOYAL customers.

Did you upgrade to a 4G phone? The double data deal is only for 4G phones.
Additionally, this is for ALL 4G phones, even if you are not upgrading. If you currently have a 4G phone which is on the 2GB tiered plan, you can sign into My Verizon and change it to the double data deal. At least it will let me change a 4G phone I have which was purchased last May to the double data deal.

  • Java I/O: Get Creation date of file

I am using the File class to read files in multi level a directory tree. I was to retrieve the date the files were created. That is, the OS Date Created field. I am using J2SE 1.4.2 on Win2003 Server. I dont see a method in this class, File, for retrieving the date the files were created.

I dont see a method in this class, File, for retrieving
the date the files were created. There isn't one. You can get the time that the file was last modified but to get the creation time I think you will either need to use Runtime exec or JNI.

  • Correct Wrongly stored Data

    Hello,
php.ini shows wrong characterset causing wrong data to be inserted..
Is there a way to correct this data (millions of records) other than inserting them manually?
    Thanks in advance.
    Rehab

Out of interest, what exactly was the setting and what HTML/PHP caused the problem?
Regarding your current data, it would depend on the "corruption", the character sets involved, and which DB you are using.
    For Oracle DB check http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10729/ch11charsetmig.htm#NLSPG011

  • Wrong Modified Date on Files

When I tried opening a file on my macbook pro this evening, I was greeting by grayed out, inaccessible files, all with a modified date of January 24, 1984 at 2:00 am.  Anyone know what might have caused this and/or how to fix it.
    Thanks!

Try dragging the files into a new folder. If there's no change, and you have a backup of the files, restore them. Otherwise post your results.

  • Applescript for matching two files creation date

    Hello,
I reopen here a question that I posted on another forum (macrumors):
I have converted almost 1,000 video files from MPG1 to MOV in order importing them to Final Cut Pro (FCP can't import directly MPG1!).
    So I have TWO folders:
Folder 1 with the original VideoXXXX.mpg1 files
Folder 2 the converted VideoXXXX.mov files.
The file names on both folders are the same. And the number of files in the two folders are the same.
My problem is that the creation date of files in the Folder 2 is the "conversion" time (July 2012) instead the original creation time (from 2005 to 2010).
When imported to FCP, I need the creation time. The name doesn't include the time, so I don't know the file date looking only at the file name.
I need an Apple Script for changing the creation date to the files in Folder 2 files matching the creation date on the Folder 1 files.
    - For file n on Folder 1, take name and creation date
    - Look for the same file name on Folder 2
    - Set creation date of file on Folder 2 to Creation date of original file
I have seen that it can be made with the "touch" command, but I'm new to applescripting and any help would be very appreciated!!
    Thanks

    Wooow...
How many helping responses! Thanks to you all.
I am trying the first sugested solution.
I have tried adding "file" to theOriginalFile twtwtw script.
    (name of file theOriginalFile)
But the error persists (I changed -5 to -4, as the extension is only MPG)
    tell application "System Events"
get POSIX path of every file of folder "HD Mac:users:fhuet:Desktop:Vid1" whose name extension = "MPG"
      --> {"/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04860.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04882.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04905.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04906.MPG"}
get creation date of file "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG"
      --> date "viernes, 31 de diciembre de 2004 23:39:00"
get text 1 thru -4 of name of file "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG"
--> error number -1720 from text 1 thru -4 of name of file "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG"
    Resultado:
error "System Events ha detectado un error: Espectro no válido." number -1720 from text 1 thru -4 of name of file "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG"
    If I do
set strippedFileName to name of file theOriginalFile
    I got:
    tell application "System Events"
get POSIX path of every file of folder "HD Mac:users:fhuet:Desktop:Vid1" whose name extension = "MPG"
      --> {"/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04860.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04882.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04905.MPG", "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04906.MPG"}
get creation date of file "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG"
      --> date "viernes, 31 de diciembre de 2004 23:39:00"
      get name of file "/Users/fhuet/Desktop/Vid1/MOV04859.MPG"
      --> "MOV04859.MPG"
So it's OK. After that, obviously, it gives another error.
So, the problem is with the instruction
set strippedFileName to text 1 thru -4 of (name of file theOriginalFile). There must be a sintaxis error on that. It says "ESPECTRO NO VALIDO" ERROR
I keep trying and will try the other options.
But I'd like to test all of them, as it's the best way to well understand and study the lenguage.
    Thanks again.

  • How can I change the file creation date?

I recently downloaded more than 1,000 photos from my vacation. I'm preparing to burn DVDs for a friend, and I noticed that when I copy the photos to the desktop, they don't all have the same date. I have read a couple of discussions here about the difference between photo creation date and file creation date, and I understand the difference. But something seems odd to me.
For purposes of illustration, let's take two photos: "A" was taken with the camera in the landscape position (how one normally holds a point-and-shoot); "B" was taken with the camera held in the portrait position (rotated 90 degrees). The photos were taken on April 24, about three minutes apart, but not imported into iPhoto until May 19.
In iPhoto, both files show the actual creation date. Yay!
The problem is with the files after having been copied to the desktop.
When copied to the desktop, the info panel for photo "A" shows April 24 for both the "created" and "modified" dates. Photo "B," however, shows May 19 for the "created" and "modified" dates.
Apparently, when the "B-style" photos were imported into iPhoto, the app automatically rotated them so that they are viewed correctly (without having to turn your head sideways). This is a very nice feature, but the result is that the file date changes.
Is there any way to change this? I want the DVD to show the date the photo was created, not imported to iPhoto. Picky, I know … but I'm like that.

Apparently, when the "B-style" photos were imported into iPhoto, the app automatically rotated them so that they are viewed correctly (without having to turn your head sideways). This is a very nice feature, but the result is that the file date changes.
Correct.  Your camera has an Auto-Rotate feature. However, the camera does not actually rotate any pixels in the file, but instead flags it with an instruction: "Display me this way". This is a tag in the Exif metadata. When you import a file with this tag iPhoto creates a modified version. It does this because most of the apps that integrate with it -  email clients, word processors etc - simply don't understand this Exif tag. So if you used the shot in a word processing doc, uploaded it to many Web site etc, the shot would come out sideways.
iPhoto has nothing to say about File dates. There are various file utilities that will edit the dates on Files

  • Finder doesn't show correct "last modified" dates

For the longest time, the Tiger Finder has not always shown the correct "last modified" dates for files. Is there any fix or workaround for this?
Frequently, if I'm working in a folder with a bunch of files in it, and working in each individual file, and viewing the folder in list view, the modified date for each file will not update as I work on the file. Even if I close and reopen the folder, it won't update. Sometimes when I click on an individual file, the date will update. Other times not. If I use "Get Info" to look at the file, then I see its true last modified date.
I believe this used to be a problem in prior OS's too, and someone recommended a little contextual menu plug-in called "Nudge" to me. I went looking for that, found it, and installed it, but it doesn't do what I want. Now if I "nudge" a file, the Finder instantly marks it as modified right that second. That's not what I want. I need to know the last time the file was TRULY last modified, and I need it to show up immediately.
I work with a large quantity of files and part of the management scheme is figuring out, at a glance, when each file was last modified, so I can keep track of their development.

    Hi folks,
This issue has been driving me crazy, and I've been searching everywhere for a solution... today I am happy to report that I found one!
Limit Point Software has just released a great utility for dealing with this issue where folders have their "Date Modified" altered after you just opened the folder.
It is called "SyncFF" and you can download at:
    http://www.limit-point.com/Utilities.html
    Here is the product description:
SyncFF is a drop utility for setting the modification and creation date of folders to the latest modification date of their contained files. This way the modification date of the folder matches the modification date of the "oldest" file it contains. The process is recursive, which implies all subfolders are processed too. Universal Binary, Mac OS X 10.4 and above.
It works wonderfully, and it is so nice to have the proper modification dates on my folders and projects again.
I should also say that the developer is very helpful and responsive to feedback.

  • Missing Creation Date Causing Problems

Where to begin. Well, we've moved several terabytes of data to a new Xserve RAID. Somewhere in the process of setting up permissions, etc. we've lost some creation dates of files, mostly .NEF files as far as I can tell. The problem comes in with Bridge CS3. When you click on a folder with these files, you get a double popup window with "The Operation Could Not Be Completed". Once you click through the popup for every file in the folder, everything seems to be peachy. Anyway to fix this so the users don't get the error message?
All Mac users using Bridge 2.1.0.100 some PowerPC G5's, Some Intel MacPro's. Lots and Lots of RAM in each.

Afp has a lot of problems. On our network using an Xserv we were forced to use a single authentication because of this exact issue. security wise it's pretty crap but the servers isn't accesable off our physical subnet so was acceptable. Unfortunatly we are now using a mixed envrionment (PC/MAC) and the server will shortly be moved to a centeral location so a mover ot Active directory authentication will be needed.
To get around these problems we're using a Samba implimentation called DAVE (the licencing is pretty reasonable). It allows full AD authentication/Workgroups etc and fixes a lot of issues with Apples SMB. On our shared storage system for video editing (Edit Share) which also uses DAVE because Final cut Pro and Quicktime (both apple produces) cant reliably write Quicktime files across a network using Apples AFP, but is 100% reliable with DAVE.
Glad to see some of these issues being sorted

  • How to find creation date of a cron job in RHEL 5

We have instances having RHEL 5.10 in our setup. I wanted to know how to find the creation date of a cron job in RHEL 5. I was investigating a cron job, hence the query to know the creation date of a cron job.
I hope my question is clear.
Requesting a reply to my query.
    Regards

Sorry to have upset you, but I cannot understand your accusation. Could you please explain where you see aggression in my problem evaluation or where I implied "how dare you"?
I also provided an explanation why the cronfile in /var/spool/cron is not helpful. If I'm wrong, by all means, please let me and anyone else know.
If no filesystem is specified I assume the default file system, which under OL 6 is ext4 and xfs under OL 7. Furthermore I was assuming ext3 due to other questions the OP has been asking in a similar context, which you may have not seen. For example: How to find creation date of a file in RHEL 5

  • Correct incorrect clip date

Is there a way to fix (inside FCP X) a video file that was imported into FCP X with the wrong creation date?

    Hello Manoj,
I deleted the "accounted  to" and deleted ERA as well.
But when i try to correct the action date, it doesn't allow me to change the date to 01.01.1998. Hope you'd have read my thread precisely!
When i try to correct actions, the action types "incorrect entry" and "correct entries" are missing. Unless, i delete the clusters, it doesn't allow me to change the entry date.
    More inputs!
