Topic pretty much says it all.......
Clarify: Have Cinema display attached and want to run off that and not have to keep my laptop open to do this, anyway to get around the sleep mode and have the screen closed?

When you're in the Finder, choose Mac Help, under the Help menu.
Enter "external display" as the search terms.
In the results, look for this Help Topic, and choose it:
"Using your portable computer with the lid closed"
Then follow the instructions.
It says the laptop will need to be plugged in, and you'll need an external keyboard and mouse, of the USB type.

Go to System Preferences > Displays > and you should see two different windows, one for your iMac's display and one for the extra display. Click on the one for the extra display. Click on the Arrangement tab at the top. In the lower left corner, uncheck the box for "Mirror Displays" and it should go to extended desktop. You may also wish to check the box for Show displays in menu bar if you need to access the Displays pref frequently.

hello, i'm not sure what filefox is - can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

You should be able to turn it off on the iPad by using 'a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process' and 3 fingered scrolling to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn it 'off' (so to use the 'slide to unlock' tap the slider and then double-tap it, and to type your passcode tap a digit and then double-tap it etc), or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064

Not able to close the Org Period

We recently upgrated from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3, and we are not able to close the org due to error in tables WSM_LOT_MOVE_TXN_INTERFACE and WSM_LOT_SPLIT_MERGES_INTERFACE. The records are getting reflected as 'Pending WSM interface' - Resolution Required.
These records are back dated, with year as 2007/2009 and for some Jul'11, for which period has been closed except Jul'11 which is - 'Closed not Summarized'.

Hi,
Please check the charecterstic of Book Area 01 in customization. If net book value has been maintained as negative, then you have to run depreciation to make it negative.
If depreciation for all asset has not been run a particular fiscal year then you cannot close the fiscal year.
Please check wheather depreciation for all additional assets has been run or not.

When I close the screen on my MBP it goes to sleep. Does the new O.S. enable me to set it so it does nothing?
I have my sony vaio set to do nothing when I close the lid with XP Pro. If I'm running parallels with windows can I set my MBP this way?

Welcome to the Forums!
Normally, no. You can run in lid-closed mode if you are using an external display and an external keyboard/mouse. This is supported by Apple:

Lid-closed sleep can be disabled with commands in Terminal, or you can use 3rd party software like SleepLess or InsomniaX. These run under OS X, I am not aware of any solutions under Windows through Parallels (however, since in that case OS X is still running, they would work as intended).
Note that running lid-closed can potentially lead to heat issues, since air for cooling is drawn in through the keyboard.

Toggle full screen mode with the F11 key a few times to see if that brings the title bar back.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.<br />
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

If I push it back open it cuts off again. So, I just leave it part way open and turn the laptop at an angle so that I can continue to see the screen & type. It acts like there is a short. I figured it out! I don't fully understand why, but when I uninstall ESPOINAGE 2 from my laptop, sleep works fine now.. Weird!
