Question says it. I've been looking all over, and the only thing I found so far that actually works is the DeckLink from BlackMagic -- $995!
Anyone have a better suggestion...?

If you want an external drive enclosure for 5 drives you basically are looking at $500 for case, $100 per drive or more, plus cost of controller which can run $250+.

Is it? I thought the contents would not entirely satisfy your customer needs. If you would have time later, I would appreciate to know how you used that information inside the AL_USERS table (and actually how that table really works).

How to capture the SSAS server response to an XMLA command issued in VB Script

I have an SSIS package that contains a VB script task that sends XMLA commands to my SSAS server. (I am using a script task and not the DDL task because there is lengthy logic required to build the XMLA command and send it to the appropriate
server.)
The problem I have is that while I have been able execute the XMLA command against the SSAS server, I am not able to capture the full response from the server. Warnings are not being captured and other data is missing. My code currently is as
follows:

Note that "fileReader" is the string containing the XMLA command.
If the xmla processes a dimension, and there are duplicate keys (for which it is set to error and stop), Management Studio give the response shown below, which includes the warning indicating there are duplicate keys:

How to do a video capture of desktop?

an app that i'm using isn't behaving correctly. the makers of the app haven't been able to recreate the problem. is there anyway to capture video of me scrolling around on my desktop so I can show them what's going on?

dang it! haha. right in front of my face. I thought there was a way to do it with quicktime but couldn't find it. I guess I didn't look hard enough. and the Help doesn't tell you this at all, although maybe I didn't use the right words for Help.

Capture Single-Click for BDC

I am doing a BDC for transaction CM21. Everything seems to be fine but I ran into a problem. In order to dispatch planned orders, you have to do a single-click on the planned orders and click on the dispatch button.
The big issue i have now is I don't know anyway to capture a single click on BDC.
I know somebody could have ran into this problem before.
Please help.

Don't forget that BDC doesn't work with enjoy transaction (in fact with controls, search OSS there are some notes on this subject) , if BDC_CURSOR to put the cursor on the field is not possible or doesn't work, you may not be able to fulfil your requirement and will have to look for a BAPI to do the job. (Sometimes adding many "Enter" to the BDC enable the transaction to work but not always)

Capturing Low Res?

Im new to Final Cut... i have used Avid for years... but i am now trying out Final Cut Studio... so far so good... but i have one problem. Is there anyway to capture low res footage? I am shooting on a Canon HV20 mini dv tape... and when i capture say 1 minute of footage its about 400mb??? at the size i cant fit anything on my computer... is there a way like with avid i can capture and edit in low res then when i'm finished with the project upres? Im using a Macbook (black one) 2gig i think. I dont want to have to haul around 20 500 gig drives!!! There must be a way right?

You didn't say what you were shooting, but my 1TB firewire drive will hold about 70 HOURS of DV footage at full resolution.
Don't know about your workflow but I sure prefer working with footage once and not having the hassle of downrez/uprez the way we used to have to do it in the dark ages.
In any event, you do not want to capture to your system drive, media should always be separated from the drive your operating system and programs are on.

Capturing video from camera to final cut

I have a camera currently (canon hg20) that captures files that are .mts. I've always used imovie to capture my files and convert them to .mov but imovie only allows you to capture two sizes, one which is too small and the other is too big. I would like to capture my video to a 1280x720 resolution and edit that in final cut. Is there anyway to capture .mts files in final cut or some other program that i can convert them to .mov at my desired resolution

You're shooting in an interlaced format. The video is not deinterlaced on ingest. (iMovie throws away one field to simplify processing.) If you're going to DVD, which I assume you're doing if you're going to Toast, then you're going to a format designed specifically for display on a television set, which is an interlaced display.
If you want your video for display on a computer, you need to deinterlace at some point. You cannot and should not do it on ingest. It should be done in the compression stage. Toast should be able to do this. Perhaps there's a Toast forum or Toast support where you can find out about this.
If you want to use Compressor you can deinterlace in that software.

Premier Pro CS6-Capturing Footage, Serious Surprising Issue

I started editing using final cut pro 7 and i'm making the transition into the adobe video world. Premier is very simlar to final cut, but I think premier is much better as long as you can find your self around.
I chose to capture vhs tapes through a fw 400 to a 800 into my mac with premier instead of final cut. The reason for this is, i noticed that premier had a much better proc amp luma to it then fial cut did. Meaning the capture window in final cut 7 was much darker then in premier pro cs6.
The Final cut capture window is on the left and the premier capture window is on the right.
Now this is a very good thing and this is why i chose to capture in premier instead. Does premier have capture presets like final cut does? I'm captureing vhs tapes that are 2 hours long and average to about 30/35 gigs a pop cuase their .movs. Is there anyway to capture as a mpg2 and call it a day? Thank you.

As far as I know, PPro (both Win and Mac) capture digitised tapes into the DV AVI codec... on Win it is AVI and Mac it is MOV... but the internals are the same
What is your digitising device... and does it come with it's own software?
But, do be aware that the DV AVI codec, at about 13Gig per hour, is as good as it gets for editing
If you do use other software to capture to a compressed format, you lose a great deal of the original picture quality

Capturing SOAP

I Have a written a small Web service as part of a Uni' project. I would like to provide samples of the exact SOAP request and response generated by JAX-RPC if possible. Is there anyway of capturing this information ? - possibly from Tomcat or maybe via the JAX-RPC API's themselves.

You have to modify the method that you�ll call in the �interfaceName�_Stub file
You can obain the 2 SOAP message writing:
SOAPMessage requesteMessage= _request.getMessage();
SOAPMessage responseMessage = _state.getResponse().getMessage();;
Then you can write the messages in a file:
requesteMessage.writeTo(fileoutputstream);
To recompile the new code you have to add to the classpath a lot of library.
If you decide to follow this way I'll let you know the name of the jar file to include.

Read settings in NEFs from Nikon Capture during import?

Short version: during import, I would like Lightroom to detect and then approximate edits that I have made to NEFs with Nikon Capture.
Longer version: I have several thousand images that I've previously (individually) edited in Nikon Capture. Is there anyway to capture the gist of these edits *on an individual file basis* when importing into Lightroom, or am I limited to the Lightroom default and my own Lightroom presets? I don't expect Lightroom to *exactly* duplicate whatever I've done in Capture, but it would be nice if it pick up some of the information.
I've searched the forums for this, but didn't find anything relevant. My apologies if this is a duplicate post.

From what I see here, LR simply ignores [or cannot see*] edits from
Capture [NX]; all my manipulated files come in as they were shot, not

Same holds for NEFs created with Capture.
*The problem has more to do with Nikon than Adobe, as N does not

Plug in the camera, make sure it's set to shoot in 48k, select the DV converter preset. Open the log and capture window you should see the live camera in the window. Press Now and it starts capturing.

Capturing HD with Canon HV20

Anyway to capture HD with a Canon HV20 using PE4? When the settings in my HV20 are on HDV and I change the capture settings in PE4 to HDV Capture 1080i, the capture is choppy, the playback is choppy and the vid turns out funky. Now that YouTube offers HD 1280 x 720, I'm trying to actually use my HD vid cam to upload some HD vids.
Any thoughts?

How to change audio capture devices sample rate

I am going to develop a online voice chat applet. Now everything works fine. But I didn't find anyway to capture audio in a lower sample rate. The default sample rate is 441000Hz. I am using MediaLocator to capture audio and pass it into Processor.

Use GSM format and do it with setting of BitRateControl. It is better than convert the sample rate of your capturing device. I suppose that you try to reduce load of network traffic with changing sample rate, right?

Is there anyway to capture keystrokes without making user have to click on my applet. I am thinking that I need a javascript call to the applet on page load, or something like that to do it. Is this possible?
It would be really inconvenient for my website if people had to click on the applet
