Anyway to change how the track pad behaves on Yoga 13?

Hi
I just bought a Yoga 13 and while I can change the speed the mouse moves is there anyway I can change:
1) the speed the track pad scrolls a page?
2) can I change the direction the page moves when I move my hand?
ON the pad when I swipe downward the the page moves upward ?
Is there anyway to make it to where I can swipe down and have the page move down?
The pads I use at work work that way and its far more natural to me that way
Thank you
Solved!
Go to Solution.

The're all in Control Panel>Mouse>Device Settings>Settings
Turn off Ënable Reverse Scrolling and you can adjust the scroll speed in the same place

  • How does the track pad auto correct miss spelled words?

    How does the Track Pad auto correct miss spelled words, unlike the mouse i can no longer double right click to change the spelling??

    Hey hoopsmiller,
    Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you want to turn off auto correct in OS X. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
    Since you have already tried to turn it off for all apps, you can try individually.
    OS X Yosemite: Check spelling and grammar
    For a specific app: In the app, choose Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Correct Spelling Automatically (it’s off when a checkmark isn’t shown).
    Mac OS X 10.6: Checking spelling and grammar
    If you don’t see the “Spelling and Grammar” command in the Edit menu, the application doesn’t provide the Mac OS X spell-checking feature. Check the application’s preferences or menus to see if it has its own spelling checker.
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a good one,
    Mario

  • My macbook froze up. Finger gestures work, but I cant close out of any windows. How do I close out the windows without using the track pad?

    My macbook froze up. Finger gestures work, but I can't close out of any windows by clicking on the red "X". How do I close out the windows without using the track pad?

    Command + W will close a window. Command + Q will quit a program.

  • How do you control the track pad?

    The track pad seems to have a mind of its own after Lion installation. Seems to copy everything it crosses over. Is there a way to have it behave like it did in the Snow Leopard?

  • Did Lion eliminate the finger gestures for show the previous page and show the next page?  I've checked system settings for the track pad and it looks like the got rid of one of my favorite finger gestures when browsing the internet.  How do I get it back

    I've upgraded to LION. It looks like LION eliminates the finger gestures within internet browsing that used to yield navigating to the previous page or navigating to the next page.  I think it was a 3 finger swipe to the left and a 3 finger swipe to the right.  It looks like this has been eliminated.  I've gone into the system preferences and went through all the new settings for the track pad finger gestures.  I've not found a combination that allows me to swipe on the track pad to do the page forward / page back function.
    How to I get this back?  I was my favorite one and now I can't get there!

    For going back to the previous page try a 2-finger gesture. Two fingers in the other direction will take you back.

  • Is it hard or expensive to change the track pad on a 2010 macbook pro/

    I'm thinking of buying a used macbook pro but it has an issue with the track pad.  The current owner is using an external mouse.

    Expect more issues than trackpad, both now and in the future.
    Final cost depends on what is actually wrong, and we could only guess while Genius Bar would know what is broken.
    My advice: skip it, unless it is practically free.  You will likely be paying full replacement price price you are done in repairs.

  • Gt780 brushed aluminum panel slightly "raised" near the track pad

    I bought a GT780 i5 version about a month ago, ever since I noticed that the brushed aluminum panel is slightly raised at the top edge of the track pad, seems the adhesive didn't do its job anyway, when i try to press down lightly to try and set it back, i noticed that the track pad itself may have been installed/set too low... why do I say this? Because when i try to press down on the aluminum panel at the top of the track pad it sets lower than the surrounding aluminum, which indicates that the portion on top of the track pad is lower.
    I have no idea how this unit is put together, I do not know if the plastic underneath the aluminum panel is a 1-piece design or otherwise...
    anyway, that's my only gripe... as it looks cheap and unprofessional.

    The first thing to do of course is take it back to where the repair was done and see if they are willing or able to make it right. If you get no satisfaction from them, you could then call Apple Customer Relations and explain that the repair was not properly done at their authorized repair facility and that you feel that the damage inflicted on your computer ought to be repaired. Be very nice and polite. You may need to send it off to Apple for proper repair. But if you are under Applecare, then they really should take care of this.
    If you just have a one year warranty, you might consider purchasing the 3 year warranty. Otherwise, once your one year warranty is up, you will be on your own. If you are at all close to the end of your 1 year warranty, be sure and get a case number documenting that the problem first occurred under warranty.
    Good luck!

  • HT5815 Updated to 10.8.5 and now I cannot control my macbook pro with the track pad.  Any solutions?

    Like any other time, the App Store said there was a new update and asked if I wanted to update now.  I did.  Unfortunately, the update, after rebooting, has rendered the system unusable.  I can no longer control the system with the track pad.  The arrow is moving itself around the screen and the Launchpad periodically opens itself and gets locked in that mode.  I've rebooted, launched in safe mode, and zapped PRAM.  Nothing has changed.  I experienced the same thing in safe mode, no change.  Anyone else having these problems?  Not sure what to do next.

    There are several possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps until it's resolved.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable.
    2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check for unknown or forgotten input devices. Disconnect any USB input devices that you aren't using.
    3. Boot in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you reboot as usual, stop here and post your results. If you can't boot in safe mode, do the same. If you booted in safe mode and there was no change, go on to the next step.
    4. Reset the System Management Controller.
    5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    6. A swollen battery in a MacBook Pro or Air can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    7. Some people have reported that they fixed a malfunctioning trackpad by pressing down on all four corners at once. I can't confirm, but it does no harm to try.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • I have just installed OS X Mavericks and I can't seem to right click on the track pad.

    I have just installed OS X Mavericks and I can't seem to right click on the track pad.
    Also the track pad seems to be slower/ not picking up all my finger movements.

    You might want to take the computer to an Apple Store or an AASP and have them give you an estimate, at least, on how much it would cost to 'fix' the trackpad - I've no idea what the cost would be. The trackpad on MBPs is one of the most sensitive elements in the computer's design. They usually don't go bad, but yours seems to be giving you some trouble: so just make a Genius Bar appointment and just get an estimate - might be something simple.

  • NO Cursor scroll through any message thread using the track pad in the BB Classic

    It very strange to know that I didn't find the cursor while i will scroll through any message thread i.e. Text msgs  and in Whatsapp it will only selet the whole msg or multiple msgs rather then specfic text required, using the track pad in my BB Classic.
    Where in my old BB 9780 there was a cursor which would always show there and would help in selecting text required.... Rather in BB Classic first you have to activate the selection mode in text msgs by pressing the shift key an slighty brush the finger against the trakpad. then you get the selection blue sticks on the screen to selet the text required.
    Anyone who has noticed this short coming...?? Or it might be I am not very familair with the selection methods...!!!
    Will appreciate your help
    Thanks,
    Falak Zaib

    This is normal behaviour. Please go to the "Tutorial" app select
    "Editing Text"
    It will show you exactly how it works.

  • Why doesn't the track pad zoom feature on my Macbook Pro work with the newest version of Firefoz?

    The track pad zoom feature doesn't work with the latest version of Firefox. It did on the previous version. I used to use Firefox as my default browser, but no longer use it very much due to the incompatibility of this version on my Macbook Pro.

    Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
    You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    browser.gesture.pinch.in -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReduce</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out -> <b>cmd_fullZoomEnlarge</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> <b>false</b>
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

  • I have recently noticed that my MacBook Pro Retina keeps freezing.  I first noticed that the track pad would not work for short periods of time.  Is anyone else having a problem?

    My MacBook Pro Retina keeps freezing up.  It seems that it is happening more often as time goes on.
    I first noticed that the track pad would freeze then whole computer would completly freeze.
    Most annoying.
    Is anyone else having a similar problem?

    Hey B-bram,
    For issues with video resolution not being consistent, I would start with resetting the NVRAM on your MacBook Pro. That will reset the resolution to its default as well as resetting other default settings like sound volume and start up volume. Take a look at the article below for more information about that and how to perform the NVRAM reset.

  • Why does the curser move across desktop without touching the track pad?

    The curser has started to move across the screen without touching the track pad. There's no mouse connected. All networking connections are turned off. As the curser moves across the desktop, it opens new folders??? It will open as many as a dozen new folders before it stops at the left side of the screen and wouldn't you know it, the warranty expired last month! Any help to figure out a fix would be appreciated.
