Anyway to remove drm  from ibooks

Is there anyway to remove the drm from books purchased from itunes?

Legally, no. And illegal procedures cannot be discussed here per the ToU, so from any practical stance, the answer is still no.

• Remove DRM from Independent Labels

One way that Apple can show that it takes seriously the topics brought up in Steve Jobs's article, "Thoughts on Music", is to remove DRM from all material where the content producer did not specifically ask for it.
There are many independent labels who wish their music to be as open as possible to a broader community. DRM gets between them and their customers.
Please consider removing DRM from all content where the content producer did not request or require it.
Thank you,
Mike Shea

It wont happen. Apple has DRM accross the board is to offer a consistant product. Lets face the facts that if 90% of all music is required DRM (shot in the dark) people who dont get the DRM thng (most customers) will be totaly lost if only a few songs have DRM and others dont. Apple stripping DRM from music that doesnt require them means very little to the Recording companies anyway.

• I have hidden unwanted books from the purchased area of the iBooks store, but they're are still appearing on the front page of iOS as cloud downloads, is there a way to remove these from iBooks without using the hide iCloud books button?

I have hidden unwanted books from the purchased area of the iBooks store, but they're are still appearing on the front page of iOS as cloud downloads, is there a way to remove these from iBooks without using the hide iCloud books button?
Let me explain a little more. I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The 5 books left are ones I decided to keep as seen in the following picture.
This is how it appears in iBooks on my mac. There are 4 books downloaded and 1 book that I have decided not to download at this time. I would still like to keep this book available in the cloud incase I want to download it again in the future. You’ll notice that hide iCloud books is not selected, if I wanted to hide the book that I have chosen to keep in the cloud, but have not downloaded yet I could.
This is exactly how I think this feature should work. If you have hidden a book from your purchases it should not show up in the mac Ibooks app. (I am aware you can never actually delete a purchase, just hide them and that hidden purchases can be restored to your account from within the account management section of the iBooks store).
The iOS app is working differently for me. Here is a picture of the purchased tab on the iBooks store in iOS Ibooks. Again notice that pictures of Lilly is still yet to be downloaded. This is how I expected it to look.
If we visit the front page of iOS iBooks the view is very different from what I expected. Here we can see the 4 books I wanted to keep on my device and have downloaded. We can also see the 1 book I wanted to keep, but did not want to store locally on the device and left in iCloud (Pictures of Lilly). However we can also see all the books I had hidden from the purchased section of my iTunes account and which I believe should no-longer be visible, Dracula, frankenstein etc…
I am aware of the hide iCloud books button within the iOS app, but I did not need to use this to hide the books I had removed from the my purchased section of the iBooks store on the mac, why are they still appearing in iOS?
I’m still not sure if this is a software glitch or not. This article suggests to me that books can be hidden, but I had already completed these steps.

A browse of google also suggests people may have been able to hide past purchases from the front page of iBooks on iOS in the past.
In case there was an issue with syncing I tried logging in and out of my iTunes account via settings in iOS. Force closing the app, disabling automatic downloads and removing my device from iTunes in the cloud. Syncing with iTunes on the mac did not correct the issue either.
Interestingly I have the same issue on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3 as I do on my iPad mini suggesting that this might be an issue either with my account or with iOS iBooks software in general.
If there is a way to remove the already hidden iBooks in your account from the front page of iBooks on iOS without using the hide iCloud downloads button? Please help community!

My apologies for the lack of photos, here is my post again with photos.

My daughter made a $49.99 in-app purchase of 1400 gems for Home Design Story.  She says she does not know how she purchased it.  Is there anyway to remove that from my purchases?

Apple allows apps to list themselves as "Free" if the initial download is free, even if the app has kid-oriented inducements for costly in-app purchases.  The in-app purchases are almost always ridiculous, over-priced game accessories, of which your example of "1400 gems for $49.99" is right up there.  It is way too caveat emptor for my taste, but each consumer can form their own opinion on that.
To Apple's credit, they have a good record of granting refunds providing you explain the extenuating circumstances (purchase by a minor) and only ask once.  Contact iTunes Customer Service.
As roaminggnome notes, you need to place restrictions on the devices.  The restrictions are off by default, so you need to take action to do this.  See this document:  iOS: Understanding Restrictions

• Removing DRM from existing purchases

Hi all,
I love iTunes, but could never stand the DRM that came bundled with purchases. Now DRM's been removed from music I'm loving it again. I've made half a dozen purchases already today and I'm delighted with how easily my existing MP3 software was able to convert the M4A files to MP3.
One question though, is there a way within iTunes to either re-download past purchases, or to remove DRM from purchases made before Apple stopped including DRM with music?
Thanks.
Lex.

Access the iTunes plus upgrade screen from either the right hand top in the store in the upper box or by clicking on the iTunes plus advert in the middle of the store screen near the free download screen.
If you have none of these links it may mean that none of your past purchases is currently available. The entire store will not be DRM free until near April, currently only close to 8 Million tracks are available, though I think new are still be added daily.

• How to remove DRM from files

I thought iTunes Match was supposed to remove DRM from files

It doesn't actually  "remove" anything.  But it does allow you to delete the DRM versions and download non-DRM versions, if available.
Go to this document, and read the section on "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?":

• NEW ADOBE ACCOUNT REMOVING DRM FROM ALL BOOKS

I have had ADE and Sony Reader for PC for some years without any major problems. Recently I have been having some issues downloading a particular book - the acsm would not download the file from Google Play Books. In trying to fix this I seem to have created a far worse problem.
One of the fixes suggested was to ensure my computer was properly authorised - but I was unsure of my password on my Adobe account linked to an old and defunct email.  Not knowing what else to do I created a new account with my current email address, big mistake.
Adobe have now rather unhelpfully removed the DRM from all my legitmately pruchased books as they were purchased on my old account. I cannot open any book now either on my laptop or my ereader and I have no way of accessing the old Adobe account.
My computer is running Windows Vista and my ereader is Sony PRS T1, I suspect that this can only be resolved by Adobe linking or merging my accounts but if anyone can help  I would be very grateful.

• Removing drm from tra

Can anybody please help I have a zen micro dri've usb 20 gig and have recently bought a zen vision m 30 gig which I am trying to transfer my collection to it transferred all mp3 songs but not wma protected songs can anybody help me transfer these songs thank you...Andrew

Hi Andrew,
If the tracks are MP3 files, then there is no protection on them, there is no protection for MP3 files so they can be transferred to your PC or another player.
If they are WMA files with DRM protection, then it is unfortunate that you turned that option on for your own tracks (that you ripped), but we can't allow discussion on how to (hypothetically) remove DRM protection as that includes bought tracks aswell, they include this protection on purpose.

• Remove drm from purchased

Hey, iWorld!
I have 1300+ songs on iTunes.  About 450 of them were purchased through iTunes; the rest were uploaded from CDs I had.  There are about 125 of those legally purchased songs that I want to play on my Samsung Galaxy S3 but I cannot figure out how to remove the DRM protection.  Again, I PURCHASED these songs so I am not asking to do anything illegal.  I just want to be able to play the music I purchased.
Also, can I use iTunes on my Samsung Galaxy S3 as an iPod of sorts?  The stock music player is not my favorite.  Any ideas?
THANK YOU!

I have a followup question about this, since I want to do something similar with my new Nexus 7, using DoubleTwist (which uses the iTunes library, but lets you sync with more devices).
Looking in the iTunes store it looks like 104 songs of the 1,233 songs in my library were purchased from iTunes. The rest I originally added from old CDs.
It seems a waste to spend $25 to remove the DRM of just those 104 songs. But I was wondering the following things:
If I did subscribe to Match and did not renew, have I lost anything other than the ability to store my non-purchased items in the cloud?
I understand that some songs are NLA (no longer available). The entire exercise would be not worth it if some songs are NLA. Is there a way to check before making my purchase to ensure that all my purchases are still available?
Any thoughts on just burning those 104 songs on CDs and then importing them back into iTunes? That will also remove the DRM, won't it? I read that reduces quality. I'm not a real audiophile, so I wonder how much I would notice. Already almost almost my songs originated from CD and they all sound fine to me.
It sort of seems unfair for Apple to not allow a simple upgrade of those 104 songs. Particularly since the prices they are currently selling those songs at seem to be the same. But it's Apple, so what can you do.
Anyway, I was just wondering what the best way of proceeding might be and welcome opinions.
Thanks!

• Clicking "Do not Sync Books does not remove thumbnails from iBooks?

I wanted to try another reader for epubs so that I could sort my library by author name (iBooks default bookshelf view *****, by the way) and although I clicked on "do not sync books" in iTunes", and iTunes warned me it would remove the books from my device, when I open iBooks on the iPad the cover thumbnails are still there.  Books do not open, only get the "thinking" circle.  original iPad on 5.1.1. (yeah, I know)   Newest version of iTunes for Win.  I'd like the thumbnails gone so that I can tell what's "really" there.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
As for sorting books on the iPad, the book shelf view allows you to manually e-arrange the books in what ever order you choose (tap Edit and then drag and drop). The list view (tap the button on the upper right (just to the left of Edit), allows you auto sort by Book shelf order, Title, author or group by category. (Admittedly this may not be available for iBooks on 5.1.1, but I beleive it is.) You can also move books to specific collections.

• Want to remove pics from iBook and move to external HD, and have Lightroom 1.2 map to the external h

In an effort to keep my hard drive on my iBook G4 from filling up I plan to use the external hard dive for my pictures, and store them all on the external hard drive right from step 1 (upload from camera) to final version. The issue right now is that i have about 9k pics on my hard drive that I need to move over and have Light room map to the new location. I am also contemplating changing them all to DNG.
regards
AN

Just a word of caution when moving your image files from your iBook to your external drive. I have experienced database corruption when doing this at the folder level. I have a bug filed with Adobe regarding the problem. When it occurs it is pretty dire if you don't have a current backup of your database (i.e. Catalog) file. In my experience, the corruption can not be fixed by any method other than moving the image files back to their original location and replacing the database file from a backup.
The work around that I found worked fine was to manually create the folders on the new drive (from within Lightroom) to match the hierarchy (or a new hierarchy if you so desire) on the internal drive. Then for each folder on the internal drive select all the images and drag them to the new location. This is more time consuming but better than recovering from a backup.
Regardless of how you do it I would strongly recommend making a backup of your database file before you move the image files. Once you are done (if you do the move at the folder level) go into one of the folders at the new location and let the images render (either thumbnails or using loop mode). The corruption does not show up until the previews re-render. If there is a problem you'll see garish colors that you can't fix in the Develop Module. Note this bug only shows up when you are move images between volumes (different disks). If you move within the same volume it seems to work fine.
Hope that saves you some grief.

• Is there anyway to remove REMINDERS from Mail 5.0 sidebar?

This is really bugging me.  I have removed flags and have nothing under REMINDERS, yet, it still has Flagged as a subfolder in the sidebar.  What I'd like to do is TOTALLY remove the REMINDERS.  Any ideas on this?  In Snow-Leopard, all you had to do was remove notes and restart and it was gone - no such luck here.
Thanks!

Yes, at least the following worked for me.
I had a similar situation where flagging one eMail message automatically created the "Reminders" mailbox on the sidebar with a "Flagged" section. Same thing with "Notes". I unflagged, deleted, also did the same thing with the note, and although it was empty (no note and no flagged message), the "Reminders" section along with "Flagged" and "Notes" sub-sections remained. I couldn't get rid of it. I came across the same issue on another discussion here, and someone suggested the following (I am pasting their response):
OK, I've got some good news for you. Go into your Applications folder and find the Mail.app folder. Drag it to the dock where you have your old mail dock. It will not place two mail icons in the dock, but what it will do is when you open up mail from the dock, it will mysteriously remove that annoying Reminders in your mailbox pane to the left.
You may have to open mail using the mail.app folder in your applications folder first before this actually works. All the rest of your mailboxes will be there, the only thing that is removed is the Reminders.
I tried it, and it worked for me. If it works for you, let me know, and I will include the link to the discussion, and the member who suggested it. Keep in mind that the member states the "Mail.app folder", there is no folder, it is just Mail.app.

• Is There Any Software Available To REMOVE DRM From WMA Fil

if so please let me know!
email all info to [email protected]][email protected] if you don't post here, thanks!

Yeah it's quite simple, just burn it to a CD-RW and then rip it with copyright settings off
It would probably be illegal to use a program to remove it I guess, but I don't know how to get hold of one anyway
