Anyway to turn off screen of Vision M while USB chargi
When I plug my Zen Vision M into the USB port to charge the screen turns on and stays on. Is there any way to turn it off since I am only charging and sometimes leave it overnight?
I'm having the same problem. I just purchased the CZV 60GB. There are no programs running in the background. However, when I power down my player, then put it in the lock position, then connect it to the USB charger, the screen immediately re-lights, a window pops up on my PC asking me what I want to do ? sync with this player, etc... and then no matter what I do, I can't get the screen off. I thought that maybe when the player was fully charged, the screen would finally go off, however, the next AM, the screen was still lit. I don't want to damage or "burn in" the screen. What is the model of your device? If you're referring to the Nokia Drive application, this is a normal behavior. The screen must be active for the application to work properly. The only way you can turn it off is to close the lid - so you would need an external wired or wireless keyboard and mouse/trackpad attached.

Turn-Off screen keeps coming up - maybe broken sleep button?
hey there,
i got my 3gs on saturday (t-mobile, germany) and it worked great for exactly one day. on sunday i noticed that the phone woke up from time to time showing the turn off screen, which usually appears if you hold down the sleep button for some seconds (red slider at the top).
after that, the same screen popped up more often, it even interrupts other actions by appearing on top of applications like phone or mail.
sometimes the phone will make a screenshot of the current screen if i push the home button, so it seems like the sleep key is stuck.
the phone has no visible damages, the button looks normal and doesn't act jammed.
all this happens unpredictably so i can't reproduce it, but its happens pretty often by now and is anoying as ****
i tried restarting the phone, resetting the prefs, resetting everything, restoring in via itunes etc.
guess is have to send it back, i just wanted to ask for more ideas and leave a mark for other affected users.

janBad news. I got my 3GS Saturday (6/27) at the local Apple Store. By Sunday morning, I noticed the "random" power off slider. Sometimes, the sleep switch works, sometimes it doesn't. It's gotten progressively worse...after less than 72 hours of ownership. I have a case open with Apple and a Genius appointment in 2 days. In the meantime, I suggest you DO NOT power off your phone. Apple had me do a reset (for the 4th time) and the phone would power down DURING the boot. After 10 minutes..and pressing NOTHING, it suddenly started up and ran. The sleep switch is virtually dead. The Apple rep mentioned something about "cracked circuit boards", but did not elaborate. I suspect something in the assembly process is trashing the board the switch is attached to.

DaveUnfortunately, you cannot with a 2G iPod touch, and, if your info is correct at the bottom of your post, not with iOS 3. This was a feature for iOS 4, but again, even if you had iOS 4, 2G's weren't given that feature for whatever reason.

I've just updated to iOS 7.1 and I had thought that there might be an option to turn off only the parallax effect while keeping all the home screen animations (the zooming effects) effective?? Is there a way to do that, or are the parallax effect and the animations come together under the "Reduce Motion" option?
Now I'm enjoying the zooming effects(animations) while at the same time, extending the battery life to some extent by doing some little settings! Thanks to the valuable answer provided by Ralph (see above).
The procedure is:
Settings > Wallpapers and brightness > either choose a new wallpaper or tap one of your existing wallpapers > you can then turn on or off Perspective Zoom > tap Set
(If you turn Perspective Zoom OFF, you won't be getting the parallax effect or vice versa)
And after you complete the above steps successfully, you can say Goodbye to the useless (to me lol) and battery hungry parallax effect and enjoy the zooming (pretty amazing thing which looks good while working) at the same time!!!
But even after doing that, you can notice some parallax effect left over in the home screen, but I think that's normal (Or maybe even a bug lol). And the best part about that new option introduced in iOS 7.1 is, you can choose where you want the parallax effect to work (I mean you can either experience parallax effect in the lock screen or in the homescreen or both) It's your wish, buyt while doing the above steps, turn "OFF" the Reduce Motion in Settings>General>Accessibility>Reduce Motion>OFF

I have a serious problem with TURN OFF screen button.When I touch it I have 3 options.Restart,Stand By and Turn off.Every time I press ''Stand By'' everytime the tablet restarts!!! I have tried so many times and every time I have the same problem.I tried also with password to be stand by but again the same problem.The tablet restarts!!!I don't have any problem pressing ''Turn off'' or ''Restart''.Only with this.So,as a clue of all these what can I do for that?Thanks

The iOs 5.1 is a huge file that needs to be dowloaded when updating/restoring, your phone hasnt completed the update so its now in recovery mode. Look on the left of itunes, it should say downloads under the store section with a spinning wheel, click that and youll see the update file with a time remaining, wait for that download to finish then try the restore again and it should work

Hi, I'm trying to shut down the phone in the normal way (the Sleep / Wake button and hold down on the Close tab) turns off the display after a while yet, but the phone turns off completely opens up the phone to come out after the apple logo .. What is the reason I'd appreciate if you help how to fix it ...pleasa help me
Doing those doesn't turn off your phone?
As stated hold down the top button only until you see the red slider to power off your phone.
If that doesn't work then take it to Apple and see what they say. -
it's my understanding that when traveling overseas, all i have to do is turn off cellular data to avoid high data charges.
With Airplane Mode you will not receive phone calls. If you are just worried about Data Charges then just go to Settings>Cellular>Data 'Off' This may also turn your iMessage off such that all your iMessages even in a WiFi environment go out as Text Messages. If you still want to use iMessage from Apple device to Apple device in a WiFi network then go to Settings>Messages> and turn it back on after you have set Cellular Data to Off. Ckuan is correct though about having some per minute received or outgoing call and text charges. For one example, if you were traveling in Canada but didn't have a Canada Plan you would pay about 89 cents per minute and 50 cents per send / receive Text.
