Anyway to turn text into a graphic?

Is there any way to turn text into a graphic like iweb 07 could do?

The first version of iWeb was really bad at converting text to images, even the "good" text. The latest version seems to be a bit too lenient and at least for me, has let fonts that are DEFINITELY not on the "good" list stay text.
I've taken to inserting a rounded rectangle, changing it's fill and opacity to "None" and altering the "corner" control so that it looks just like a sharp edged rectangle. You type into it like it's a text box, it fills and flows like it's a text box, but it ALWAYS renders as an image without fail. This has the added benefit of being able to easily edit in iWeb (without having to create a new text object, and copying through Preview each time you make a change).
To see what text is going to render as an image before you publish, go into iWeb's preferences and turn on "Show text imaging indicator". Here's one of my pages that had stubborn "didn't want to render as an image" text that I used this on.

For some reason, the "I Love Deadlines", which rendered fine with iWeb 1, had to be coerced to become an image with iWeb 2.

If I select the text layer and click the text style button in the library it just creates a new text style for Myriad Pro 12pt - I'm not using that anywhere in my document.

Do you realize it is an object-based vector-based program? Do you know the difference between raster-based and vector-based content?
My question seems to be all over the forum but no one has been able to answer other than exporting to these file formats, which make text look awful and of no use....
And yet everyone else in the world makes proper web images every day using a plethora of programs, including these...go figure.

Hello, cocteau! What you're calling "transparency" is inherent to object-based vector artwork. But web browsers don't support object-based vector artwork, except via file formats like Flash and SVG, or by viewing as a PDF in a plug-in version of Reader. Raster imaging in general only supports "transparency" by either indexing a specific color (i.e.; "don't display this color", as in GIF) or including an alpha channel (i.e.; "blend all the pixels with existing pixels, based on values from this extra channel", as in PNG). It's all in the raster file format you use, cocteau; it has little-to-nothing to do specifically with Adobe software. Such things are among the most basic matters understood by someone doing web design.
When I export an eps from .ai file, and open the eps in photoshop,...I save as a gif for the web, it goes back to the original problem...creates jagged text. I"m giving up on this garbage...Thanks a lot adobe! Lower the price of this software if this is all that can be done.
Once it leaves Photoshop (or Illustrator, or whatever) as a non-proprietary raster image format, it's all about what the format can do re "transparency". You can do this stuff with most any graphics program. You should read about basic web design and the differences between raster and vector content, rather than rant.

In order to turn a tet into Hyperlink, you first need to select the text and then in the toolbar look for "Links" option. Click on the dropdown and either select one of the pages or type in your own link.

[ZSH] Right click key turning text into caps lock

In zsh, my right click key turns text in caps lock and I have to type Ctrl+C to get back to the command prompt.

You can check the caps lock only if the swf has focus. When embedded in an HTML doc, the swf does not receive focus by default.

Adobe Reader 9 pdf printing turns text into symbols

I am trying to print a pdf file, when it starts printing all of the text turns into random symbols, I am trying to print a rebate and this is really frustrating. I saved the online pdf to my HardDrive, then I try to print it after opening with Adobe Reader 9. I have tried printing it as an image, and still the same occurs, my printer is fine, it prints word documents and notepad perfectly, I have all the latest updates, so I do not know why this is happening.

I do realize that not all printers are affected. However, the problem is clearly with Adobe Reader 9. The reason I say this is that the problem does NOT exist with Adobe Reader 8. The problem ONLY occurs with Adobe Reader 9. Furthermore, I am not sure what specific resolution to this printer you are referring to, but there hasn't been a solution presented thus far that is an actual fix for the problem. Originally, I identified that if I selected "Print to Image" the entire multi-page PDF would print as expected. Although, this solution causes the multi-page PDF to print very slowly (for the reasons noted by Mike). Another reader reported that if you install FoxIT PDF Reader, multi-page PDFs print just fine. I have verified that installing FoxIT Reader DOES INDEED allow me to print multi-page PDFs to our FS-C5015N. Again, if it was purely a driver issue, why would a multi-page PDF opened with FoxIT Reader print as expected while the same PDF opened with Adobe Reader 9, not print as expected? There also were a couple other posts about using the generic Kyocera KX driver. This is not an option for us. Finally, there was a post about changing the Post Script driver setings. We do not use the Post Script driver. And just as a side note, we have tried using the Post Script driver to see if this will resolve the multi-page PDF issue, and it does not. With that said, I implore Adobe to once again acknowledge this problem and provide users with a fix. This is a very frustrating problem.

Turning text into visual gibberish/squares on page insert

Hello, having an interesting problem. Every time I try to insert a page into my pdf document some text that is in the document goes from looking just fine to looking like the below:
When I copy the content in the image above and paste it into a word document the text is copied back to normal again.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Here are the details: I am creating a PDF document in Acrobat 9 Pro from InDesign CS5. All of the fonts in the PDF document are specified as embedded subsets are turning into the boxes as shown above. Even fonts that have been outlined in InDesign are turning to boxes when made into a PDF. I tried to Distill first manually, then create the PDF, but to no avail. The only quick solution I can think of is to export each page as a JPG, reinsert each page into InDesign as an image, then create the PDF. However, this is not how I would prefer to solve this problem. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to solve this issue? Thank you, in advance, for your knowledge and expertise.

Why does "prepare for web publishing" turn text into an image?

I have to prepare some supplied print PDFs for use on the web. I used to use "Reduce file size."
With the new Acrobat, I use "prepare for web publishing". But when I use "prepare for web publishing", all the vector text in my document gets turned into a low-res image.
Why would this be the case, and please tell me I can turn it off?

I'm just guessing here but could it be that the text is not a typical web-safe font? If not, I could see why it does that to preserve the appearance of the document for those that don't have the proper fonts installed.

Turning Stuff into Audiobooks...

I get some audiobooks from my library and upload them... just woundering if there is anyway to turn them into actual audiobooks, like the ones that are in the audiobooks section.

Ability to turn headings into graphics when creating PDFs

I would like the ability to convert the text headings and footers into graphical images whenever I create PDFs.
My reason for this wish is that when you search for a text string in a PDF, it is very annoying when you keep getting hits that occur in headers or footers.

It would be much easier to convert the header and footer into a graphic
yourself. That way you could determine the type of graphic that would be
appropriate for your application---high def raster image, outline text, etc.

It sounds like what you are trying to do is edit the choices in a likert field to something other than the default radio button. This is not something that you can do in Formscentral at this time.

Uploading my site to Adobe Business Catalyst and I noticed that it turns all my text into images? Why does it do that and is there a way to prevent it from happening?

I don't mind that Muse does this upon uploading my website, but once my text becomes an image on my site, it creates a light halo around my text making it fuzzy. Is there a way to prevent Muse from changing my text into images?

I believe you are using System fonts for the text in the site. I would suggest you to use either Web safe fonts or use self hosted font options.

Safari quits or freezes when I input text into a login field

Hello Everyone,
Heres the problem: Whenever I input text into some login fields (on pages I have been using for a long time w/ no previous problems), the app usually freezes, sometimes it quits. I have scoured the forums for people with the same problem, and have tried everything (reset safari, delete the ~library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist file, I have followed the advice of an Apple article for determining the problem file, I have tried fixing keychain, I have repaired disk permissions, I have deleted & reinstalled Safari, all to no avail. Safari does work when I log in as administrator.

First please remember this is a public forum. If you are going to respond to the thread via e-mail please remove your signature prior to responding.
To resolve your difficulties you will need to go to the Language & Text preference pane. Once there click on Edit List and remove all languages besides English. You will then likely need to remove and reinstall the trial as the language setting I believe is set during the installation process.

Anyway to turn text into a graphic?
