AOL does not send email out

I receive emails but when I send mails, I got the error message that the receiver is rejected by the Server becaus the transition is prohibited.
Can someone help me?

Hi Gabriele Vidali,
I used the double-secured feature on my Gmail account and then created a unique password for the Mail app in my Firefox OS device with Flame v2.0.
I was able to send and receive emails from my double-secure Gmail account with no problems. I didn't receive any errors when sending the email, and the automatic sync worked correctly.
Where did you download version 2.1 from?
I would suggest rolling back your Flame device to at least version 2.0. The version that you are currently using is still very unstable, and it's still actively being worked on, so it's not uncommon that features and apps will break.
Version 2.1 is scheduled to be Feature Complete on October 13th, and then there will still be stabilization and optimization work done on it. Mozilla's code on version 2.1 of Firefox OS is scheduled to be Code Complete on November 21, 2014 - so there's still a lot of work to be done on that version. =)
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you are still having issues sending and syncing your emails on more stable versions of Firefox OS.
Thanks,
- Ralph

Since I upgradet to Mavericks I cannot drag and drop addresses from the address book into mail to send them out. Anybody a solution or idea? Thank you!

Sorry, new mail program deleted that function.  Start to type the person name or group name in the email and it will fill in the rest.

  • Aol receives email but does not send emails.

I was having a problem with my AOL account set up on my droid's and could not send emails out.  I went all over the web and could not find an answer.  I went to Verizon store today and I kid you not an hour later we got it to work.
Go to app menu the lower middle circle triangle
    go to settings
    go to accounts
    click on AOL email
    go to outgoing server
    smtp.aol.com
    port-465
    username
    pass
    and check both squares
use secure connection and verify cert..
I hope this helps someone too!!
    Good luck!

Thanks for that advice, and I'm glad it worked for you.  When I first got the Droid X, I had a problem with my AOL mail not getting to my phone quickly (sometimes it took a day or longer), and occasionally, the mail would not send.  I started using K9 email app from the Market, and the mail gets to me within a few minutes (most times) and I've had no problems sending mail.

  • Mail does not send email

My problem is simply that Mail does not send email.
I have just migrated from iMac G5 to iMac Intel by using Migration Assistant. Everything else works just fine and I can receive email. However, if I try to reply, forward or send a new email message, Mail just does not do anything - no error message, nothing.
The fixes I have tried so far are removing the Mail plist file, repairing disk permissions and mailboxes. Of course, I have checked the account settings, especially outgoing server settings. I also reinstalled Mail application with Pacifist. None of this has solved the problem. I have tried sending email with Thunderbird and it works with no problems.
Does anybody have any suggestions how to fix this issue?
The OS is 10.4.8, Mail Version 2.0.6 (749.2/752.3), all the suggested software updates done.
    iMac Core Duo 20" 2GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Reinstalling Mail is rarely necessary or appropriate to solve a problem. It certainly cannot fix anything that could be wrong within your home folder or at the server or with the network, and may even introduce new issues if not done properly. Moreover, in Mac OS X 10.4 you don’t need Pacifist to reinstall Mail, you could also do it as described in the following article:
Custom installs in Mac OS X 10.4
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, if the version of the system software on your install disks is earlier than what you’re using now (and only in that case), then you must also reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, to bring Mail back in sync with the rest of the system:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for PPC
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for Intel
The above won’t solve the problem. It’s just to ensure that you’ve properly reinstalled Mail, which you shouldn’t have done, and which apparently you didn’t do properly -- the version of Mail on your system should be 2.1.1, not 2.0.6.
The original problem could be caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services -- the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:
    Resetting Launch Services
If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, this other article provides links to some utilities that can be used for troubleshooting and cache cleaning:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
It seems that the most appropriate utility for solving this particular problem is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
As an example, this is how you should proceed with OnyX:
    1. Quit all applications.
    2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
    3. Click Maintenance. In the Reset section, check LaunchServices database.
    4. You may uncheck any other pre-checked options if you wish.
    5. Click the Execute button.
    6. Restart the computer.

Apple not recognizing known password.  Iforgot does not send email verification.  Help please.
Don't know any other way to put it.  I typed in the correct password.  Now the account is locked.  Iforgot does not send an email verification.  The email is not in the junk mail or anywhere else.  It is typed correctly.  This is frustrating.  I was just trying to update the Ipad Mini.  I wanted to change the ownership to my husband and noticed that my daughter attached a new Icloud account.  I was just trying to verify her account.  I have the correct password.  Now the account is locked out.

I figured it out.  It's a little confusing.  I was trying to add a new email address for iCloud and I was supposed to type in the main iCloud user ID and password.  The wording is not helpful because it displays the name of the new email address.

The alerts are configured correctly, if I look at the alert it says that an email will be send (for ex. 09.00 the day before). However when the moment comes, the email does not. Can anyone help me with this one. This is the case since the upgrade to Mavericks.

Hi Patrick, I have the same problem as does everybdy else I guess - it just wont work!
I have set My Card in address book, tested it 100 times and whatever you do it ill not send an email alert? Everything I see on forums blah blahs about setting my card in address book and hey presto but none of it helps.
Someone MUST know if it will ever work or if it is another issues that apple will never resolve, instead they will just ruin a perfectly nice looking operating system by updating it and making my phone icons and notes / bookshelf etc look like it was bought from Toys R Us instead of an Apple store!
Did you find a solution to iCal not sending email alerts? DAVID.

  • Calendar does not send email remainders

    Hi People,
I have OCS 9.0.4 running on linux ES 2.1. When a meeting is created, email remainders are not sent to attendees. I tried configuring sendmail using the Note:304804.1 from metalink but the problem still persists. I think the cause is that oracle calendar uses sendmail to send email to OCS users. Now sendmail runs on port 25 which already in use by the midtier listener and so gives the message "MTA: problem creating smtp socket: Address already in use" in the log file. Any ideas how this can be resolved? Every assistance will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Ibe

Ok the message you are getting should indicate to you that there is a connection being established with the oracle esmtp server. Since you do not see this via the sendmail command. this means your message is not beign delivered.
here are a few things to check:
    (1) doc id: 251368.1
    (2) doc id: 201209.1
    (3) doc id: 302428.1
These will more or less take you through configuring rewriting rules for oracle email and a few tweaks on the the sendmail.cf file.
You may also want to have a look at the :
    /var/log/mail.log file
This file will contain errors, which should give you an idea why the sendmail command you are running fails.
Sorry I do not have a an installation with me at the moment or I would have given you the correct location of the log file (which basically means, the location for mail.log or maillog could be incorrect).
Anyway if you find that the document id's above do not resolve your issue, and you find in the maillog file that sendmail complains about being unable to resolve your locahost - basically your fully qualified domain. The reason for that would be that sendmail uses dns to resolve addresses. However there is a tweak in the sendmail.cf which can make sendmail resolve addresses from your local hosts file.
Now heres the part i forget. You need to open up sendmail.cf, and look for a line which has the following:
    ServiceSwitchFile=/etc/service.switch
    Or
    ServiceSwitchFile=/etc/mail/service.switch
If this line is commented, you need to uncomment it and make sure it ServiceSwitchFile points to a valid file name. If the file does not exist, create it, and put in the following (on a line by itself):
    files
Now test the sendmail -v command (make sure you have the rewriting rules and the -k option for esmtp set in your sendmail.cf first - see the doc id's above). If you see a connecting being established with the oracle email server, you should now find that the ocs email address you have sent the email to has recieved a message in his/her inbox.

  • Notification Mailer R12 - Does not send emails

    Dear All,
we are trying to set up the Standard Oracle Notification Mailer in R12.
We believe we have pretty much covered all aspects of the configuration but it looks like something is either missing or not working...
Here what has been done so far:
    1. We purged the Workflow Queue to avoid unwanted emails to be sent out, updating the WF_NOTIFICATIONS setting MAIL_STATUS to SENT; the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT is empty.
    2. We created an Ad-Hoc Workflow Mailer for a single item_type (UMXUPWD, for changing OA Password):
Outbound eMail Account (SMTP) set up (just the server name not the UserName and PWD)
Inbound eMail Account (IMAP) set up (ServerName, UserName, PWD and Replay-To)
Correlation_ID has been set to UMXUPWD
on the Message Generation tab we filled up the From and Reply-To-Address fields
    3. Override Address has been set (so that all emails will be sent to a Test Account) and works fine (We did get the email and we confirmed the code).
    4. we changed at Global Level (from the Workflow Administration page) the "Do Not Send me Emails" to "Send me HTML mails"
    5. Workflow deferred agent listener has been set (default values)
    6. Workflow deferred notification agent listener has been set (default values)
    7. Workflow error agent listener has been set (default values)
    8. Workflow inbound notification agent listener has been set (default values)
We started the Workflow Notification Mailer (for UMXUPWD). We selected a User which has "Send me email" as preference, we requested a password change for this user. We see the notifications in the WF_NOTIFICATIONS table ready (mail_status = MAIL) to be sent but the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT remains empty and no mails are sent out. We also tried to change the Correlation_ID to the Message_Type (instead of the Item_Type) and to leave it blank...no results = no emails.
Note: neither the TEST Mail for the Notification Mailer worked, so far the only email which has been sent out was the one for the Overriding.
    Any ideas why?
    Thank You, Pier Paolo.

So the message got 'lost' from the deferred agent listener and the mailer: it was successfully dequeued and processesed from wf_deferred but not enqueued into wf_notification_out.
Check the log file for the deferred agent listener on the middle tier under $APPLCSF/$APPLLOG. The file name will be FNDCPGSC#####.txt (there will be about three of them, you will have to find the one with internal tag WFALSNRSVC). Reproduce the problem and see if there are any errors here.
Check if the persitance time for queue wf_notification_out is zero. If it is then you could be mislead: if it is zero then the message will be immediately removed by the AQ system, suggesting the message was never enqueued.
Also, run $FND_TOP/sql/wfmlrdbg.sql <notif ID> and get the HTML it produces... usually it is able to tell what could have happened.
    I hope this helps,
    Alejandro

  • Apple Mail 7.3 suddenly does not send emails

I've got Apple Mail 7.3 with Mavericks 10.9.5. After restarting my mac, just to refresh it (it was running without interruption for the last 36 hours), mail just will not send any emails to SMTP servers. It says it can't connect. I can still receive emails though. I have not changed any settings.
Any idea what is happening ?
I have confirmed with the provider that all the settings and ports are ok.

  • Outgoing mail does not send, times out

I have two macs, one wireless and the other connected by ethernet to the internet both through a DSL modem. There are two users, each has an account on each mac. Each user has a yahoo plus mail account. I have been using Tiger and OS X mail without trouble since last year. Mail is setup to work with the Yahoo server as a POP server. The arrangement is nice since all mail stays on the server and is accessible from any internet site anywhere. In addition, there is the tight integration with OSX from Mail.
Recently one user could not send from the wireless mac. The other user could. Reading mail was OK. Performance on the ethernet mac was OK. Creating a new user and directing that user to the POP account allowed sending.
I tried alot of things as sugggested in some of the other topics here, including the drastic move of deleting the mail folder in the affected user's library and setting up a new account.
It turned out the problem was fixed by re specifying the outgoing mail server in the mail preferences. The server was incorrectly specified as smpt.mail.yahoo.com. The correct specification is smtp....
I had presumed I had made the dyslexic typo error when re establishing the account info on the affected mac.
However, about a week later, the other user account on the other mac behaved the same way. In fact, the outgoing server specification had the same error of smpt...
Once changing back to smtp... all was well, even with reboots and the other users logged off. The fix was simply to add the correct outgoing server URL, select it as the one to use and delete the incorrect one.
Explanation? I can think of two possiblities:
1)the error was always present in these two Mail account specifications on just those macs and the service that interprets the URL allowed it, but changed recently so it would not accomodate the error.
2)something changed the URL, but I can't think of how I could possibly have done it in the second instance. Is there anyway some kind of virus would cause this trouble?
So, I offer this tale in case someone else is experiencing the same difficulty. Judging from some of the other threads in the forum this may be a help.

It could not have been caused by a virus, since there are no viruses for Mac OS X. I would guess it was a typo when you first setup the account, and when you set it up again, a user may have gone to Preferences and selected the Outgoing mail server drop down menu and inadvertently selected the typo'd server entry.
