AOL Email not functioning now

Second major flaw in the first week. The AOL mail is not visible for either mine or my wife's phones although they were this weekend after the accounts were set up.
I tried to verify the settings, but the help in other posts did not match my menu. I have refreshed, resync'd, and restarted. I have attempted to install another account, remove the current account and reinstall but I get an error message that I have "invalid status 503 80318". Gmail works fine, but I do not use it. This is after my old phone was somehow restored in the account the day after I activated the new phone, thereby shutting down the data exchange completely. My confidence level in the phone and  Verizon is dropping fast.

I understand your discontent. I would be frustrated if my email application did not work as expected. I checked my resources and the AOL issue outlined on your post is not listed as a known issue for this device. Please ensure that you have the latest software application installed on your phones. If you received the Upgrade to Gingerbread and issue started after the update try doing a Factory Reset as this tend to resolve most issues after a major software upgrade.
Please keep in mind that performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. 
Additionally, if you want to avoid doing factory resets, an AOL Mail application may be available from the Android market that could resolve the issue without doing a factory reset. Please note that Verizon Wireless does not support third party applications and any third party application issues must be addressed with the application developer.

    I hate to hear you are still having problems with your Incredible 2 not being able to receive emails.
    That is one of the main reasons I love my Droid---to be able to send/receive emails.
    Do you appear to have any problems with browser/internet on the phone? The reason I ask is because, if you have problems with data on the phone, that will affect the email service.
    Let's first ensure your settings that you have set up are correct in the phone by following these steps.
    Other (POP3 / IMAP) Accounts
    From a home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower left).
    Select Mail.
    From the preferred account, select Menu.
    To change accounts, select Menu > Account list then select the account.
    Select More.
    Select Settings.
    Not available from All accounts.
    Select Account Settings.
    Verify the email address then select Next.
    Verify the Incoming server settings then select Next.
    Protocol
    Email address
    Username
    Password
    Server
    Security type
    Server port
    Verify the Outgoing server settings then select Next.
    Login required
    Username
    Password
    Server
    Security type
    Server port
    Verify the account name and the outgoing message name then select Finish setup. 
    You want to make sure the incoming/outgoing server settings are correct as well as the server ports for the incoming/outgoing mail. For AOL you can have either one of the below for the incoming settings
    POP:
    pop.aol.com
    Port: 110
    IMAP:
    imap.aol.com
    Port:143
    For the outgoing settings it should be:
    smtp.aol.com
    port 587
    Now, if your phone does have all of the correct settings, I would delete the email account and re-add it by following these steps:
    Remove a Personal (POP / IMAP) Account - HTC DROID Incredible 2 ADR6350
    From a home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower left).
    Select Mail.
    From the preferred account, select Menu.
     To change accounts, select Menu > Account list then select the account.
    Select More.
    Select Settings.
     Not available from All accounts.
    Select Delete account.
    Select OK.  

  • Aol email not working and phone vibrateing and ringing for notifications help me

    have jelly bean now and aol email is telling me server password is not found so i changed my password and that did not help. how can i fix it without doing a factory reset. could not delete email account at all. my other 2 email accounts are working fine. very annoying. also my phone is vibrateing and ringing for notifications and i just want it to ring. if i wanted my phone to vibrate i would put it on vibrate. would somebody be able to help me with my problems thanks. everything was working fine before jelly bean. also what happened to the notifications bubble on the lock screen i kind of thought that was handy to have.

    Never fear help is here! Congratulations on your Jelly Bean software update! Email, and ringers are very important, so let's get this fixed asap.
    You can delete the email account from the device http://bit.ly/PfAUeF , then re-add the email account back to the device. You change your ringtone settings from vibrate & ring to just ring in the sound settings menu. Hope this helps!

  • Email not functioning correctly

    I have a new by 2 months iphone 6 with 8.1 version.  My main email account is not functioning. It was not showing any emails in the "in box" and the "trash" folder is missing. I have deleted it and have not been successful in adding it back as a new account and when attempting to add it, am receiving the POP

    Did you check your WebMail at comcast.com for the 'lost' emails?
    Your "READ" messages MUST remain there on the server in case you want to view them in WebMail. I'll bet if you visit WebMail and mark the ones you want as "UNread" they will download next time you check your mail on your iPhone.

  • AOL email not syncin

    My AOL accounts haven't synced/worked since about 12/14 last emails received 12/16. I am unable to delete any of the AOL accounts (either in email or via settings.accounts and sync).  I just get no response or the swirling sign.  Gmail and work account sync and work fine.  Have noticed that my AOL passwords are not correct and I can't update them. I've tried removing the battery and putting it back in.  ALso have looked at the files inside my device on the computer.  Would like to not have to do a hard reset.  Seems others are having similar problems with other email accounts.  I would like to just delete the AOL accounts and start over or be able to update my password. Also have a message under accounts and sny that syc is currently experiencing problems it will be back shortly.  Did something update on the Samsung III blocking or causing AOL to no longer work and how can I delete the AOL accounts?

    I don't think anyone at verizon is realizing this is a systematic app problem, not an AOL, yahoo, gmail, etc. problem. Here's the solution we came up with in a nother forum... the email app is not working and verizon has no idea.

  • Go Daddy IMAP Email Not Functioning Properly. Do others have same issue?

    Try as I might with my IMAP accounts on GoDaddy, I have been unable to experience the functionality I have expected from having IMAP email.
    I use Apple Mail on MacBook Pro laptop and on my iPad for my IMAP email. When I delete emails in my inbox on one of The devices that action is not mirrored on the other device. The second devise shows that the email has been read.... But the email does not become deleted.
    I have read on other forums that in fact this is a glitch on GoDaddy's end.
    I have one IMAP email account with Host Gator, and it functions just as I expect it should on my two devices.
    Can anyone comment? Or send a link with a solution?   Thanks!

    I'm fully aware of how IMAP works, it helps to know a little when you administer your own server with many different domains on it. Mail v3 appears to do something to the mailboxes when it "Imports" them into the new version from the v2 mailboxes.
    To put it simply, no new messages would download via IMAP at all, until the disk cache of all messages was removed.

    That is complete nonsense, it doesn't remove ever trace of the account, hence why removing the account and adding it again had no affect what so ever.
    The mailboxes stored in the /Users/<username>/Library/Mail folder have to be trashed to get it to work, it is the only way.
    I wasn't overly keen on re-downloading nearly 5000 email messages, many with large attachments, but I was more than happy to do so to enable me to get my Mail coming in again.
    To be honest, I am not quite sure why you are arguing with me about this, it's easy enough to backup your POP accounts, and then restore them after you have finished.
    And, if the idea is that rubbish, how come it has worked for so many people on that other thread, plus the starter of this one?

    Our incoming email functionality is not working in the CRM workflow. The outgoing is working fine. When we tried to send through Business workplace, this is wht we are getting in the outlook:

    Yes the email is rejected by SAP.This used to work..it stopped from last 3 weeks...we thought might be problem in exchange and checked it..the screen shot given consists the user name which is entered in Inbound distribution in SCOT.  Yes the e-mail address is in the format userid@sapserver. I did not hear about processing class so50 but i found that there is an aesterik (*) entry in the recipient address. The way is tested is.. i went into SBWP T-CODE and sent email to the userid@sapserver and it bounced back into my outlook saying
    userid@sapserver*
                *Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified.  Please retry or contact your administrator.*
                *<aaaaa.yyyyyyy.xxx #4.4.7>*

  • AOL emails not sending on my 4S...

    My AOL makes the sound as if my email are sending, but they don't appear in my sent folder & come back undeliverable 2 days later. It doesn't always happen, but more so than not. Any idea what the problem can be & how I can fix it?
    I've already deleted the account twice & readded it.

  • Aol email not pushing

    I have an iphone. I set up two email accounts through AOL. I do not receive the emails even though I have all the settings to push.  The only way I can check new emails is to manually pull down and update. I have deleted the accounts and reinstalled them. All my settings are correct to receive emails in notifications.  Is there a fix for this or is it a software issue? I use Verizon and just upgraded to ios 6.1.

    Was having the same problem, suddenly last week.  Sounds crazy, but turn off Push and leave on Fetch...started getting notifications and new mail right away.

  • Links in email not functioning correctly

    After a recent update to my MAC/os (10.5.8), when I select a link in my email, a tab opens in my browser, but the browser does not become the active window. At this point I need to go to the dock and select the browser to make it active. In the past, selecting the link brought up the browser (made it active window) with the link displayed in a new tab.
    I checked all the options in my browser (Firefox) and in mail and can't find any options that affect this. It seems to correlate to a recent update to my OS.
    Anyone else see this???

    I do not use Firefox as my default browser, so can't test exactly, but in the Firefox Preferences/Tabs try selecting the box beside "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately".

  • Online email not functioning properly

    Sent email seems to be hung-up. I can see where there are something like 15 emails listed in a box and a listed item in a box stating item "Picnic" is too large. Every outgoing emai after that is hung-up.

    My nokia 2690 has gone crazy! It used to display an email icon on the messaging menu (a pre-installed). I have tried a *#7780# reset but the icon's never appeared! I can no longer access my pre installed ovi mailbox ,otherwise using opera mini is incovenient coz i am always told that 'invalid URL' when i log on to -www.mail.ovi.com

    Go to ovistore and download nokia email.i find it easy to use

    You are going to have to restore it. Scince itunes does not connect to ur ipod because its disabled you are gonna have to put your ipod in DFU mode. Basicaly u have to hold the power and home button atthe same time for 10 second then release power button and keep holding home button for about 15 seconds ( all this you do it while ipod is connected to the computer) if it works, itunes will detect ur ipod in recovery mode and will give you the option to restore it.
