AOL home page loads fine but instead of listing mail I get "It works"!

That statement really says it all!
My AOL mail does not display, I get a page which says only "It Works"!
I updated, removed,re-installed, makes no difference. I gave up & used IE (no problem). I then needed to see a genealogy item not supported by IE and Firefox was suggested so I downloaded again.
Same annoying result
My desktop runs windows 7 home premium.

  • Home page loads fine but all othes pages load in no styleeven through it is set to basic page style

started today dident load home page right had to reload it sence then the home page has been loading fine all search pages have loaded in no style. i click view, go down to page style it set to basic page style

That is exactly the procedure I went through. This will allow me to use it as a homepage as long as Firefox remains open. I can return from other pages using the home icon and it works fine.
HOWEVER, as soon as I close firefox it won't load.
I did notice that the upper case letters are somehow turned to lower case for the location arguments of the page in the current page entry and they don't get changed in the bookmark entry.

  • Pages loads fine but...

Hi my pages loads fine but it has a file looks like is in memory and it opens automatically, but looks like this file is corrupted and it make the app crash.
This file was never saved it looks is in Pages memory or something, so I can't find it to delete it and it keeps opening every time I load Pages, I try an other user in my mac and the app works perfect.
    What can I do???
    Thanks for the help.
    Pablo

It is in the user's library.
I did get a bit creative in getting this screenshot. I took it of my user folder on my iMac running Lion from my Mac mini running Snow Leopard just so I could easily hide the sidebar.

  • My home page opens fine but sub pages attempt to load from the local drive. Not a problem with IE.

Some time ago, while doing a bunch of things at once, FF asked me a question...not sure what it was as I was distracted by other things...I answered "yes" and since then my own website's subpages attempt to load from my C drive. This is not a problem with the homepage itself and it does not occur with other browsers. Driving me crazy and no one seems to know what is the problem...only with FireFox

http://www.questfundingservices.us is the home page which opens fine on any browser. But, in FF, any of my sub-pages attempts to open from the local drive. I believe this happens for other viewers of the site, but I am not 100% sure of that.
I never intentionally entered a <BASE local in the html and I don't think there is one, but you can check the source yourself.
This was never a problem until one day, while doing 50 things at once, I went to my website and FF popped up a question...Don't remember what it was and, in my haste I just said "yes", I think...and this problem has occurred ever since!!!

  • We have 2 users on our computer both using Yahoo as our home page. One user page loads fine but the other loads with awhite background and text overlayed on other text. Can you help?

    Not much else to add.

I'd still prefer to keep separate user accounts. I never had any issues like this before. The only time I started having a problem was when I was just trying to force empty the trash a few months ago. I came on here looking for a solution and someone posted a way to empty the trash using the terminal. Before then, I hadn't used the terminal for anything--it was just another app in my utilities folder.  (None of this has anything to do with having separate user accounts. Plenty of people with kids make second and third user accounts on their laptops so that multiple people can use one laptop, having more than one user on a laptop is not very difficult.) But thank you, I'll try that out and see if it works!

  • Hello; The Firefox program is taking long to load, or to open a new window; new tabs and pages load fine, but any new window can take up 1 minute to load; do you know why this could be happening? thanks for the help

It happens at any time; when starting the computer or hours later; the computer is one year old, it has not many programs installed, the starter config is rather clean, there is nothing eating the computer resources, the hard disk is defragmented and the only add-on I use is the ad-block plus

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How do I get the home button in Firefox 18.0.1 to open the home pages in existing tabs instead of new tabs? I have tried some add on with no luck.

I have tried the following Add on - Tab Utilities and Tab Mix Plus.
Basically on start up of Mozilla, I have five tabs that load. After surfing/working a bit online, I would like to reload the five original tabs back to the original home page/load settings. If I click on the home button, five more tabs load, giving me ten tabs instead of the five original that I desire.
Are there any other add on that would fix this. I tried the two above but either they do not offer it or I don't know what settings to choose.

The best way to keep your home page in the tab is to open other links in a new tab with a middle-click.<br />
Clicking the home page always open a new set, so you would have to close the current tabs first to prevent getting multiple home page sets.<br />
I don't know if there is still an extension that can open the home pages and replace the current set.

-> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar

4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> under "Keep Until" select "They Expire"
-> '''REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES'''
-> '''When using the Location Bar, suggest: select "History and Bookmarks"'''
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites

  • Facebook will go to any links after home page loads.

Firefox recently installed an update. Since then, I can get my home page on Facebook, but that is all. When I clicked the icon by the url address, it told me the page is not encrypted. It never has been. I noticed there are a number of other web pages where the same thing happens. They work fine if I use IE. I have not been happy with the last two updates of firefox. Seem to be causing more problems than helping. Seriously looking into some other browser.

  • Home page loading takes longer in a JSF

My application takes a little longer to load its home page when a user try to access the site. This delay in getting the home page loaded for the
first time happens to each user accessing the site. So we thought it would be the session scoped managed beans that we use in our application causing
the issue. But we checked the session scoped bean, which are not doing any particular job to slow down the process. Then we placed a phaselistener and
got the following printed in console. Doesent it shows that the request for home page goes twice through the JSF life cycle? Is it this that slows down
the home page access for the first time. If so why should it go through the life cycle twice?

I'm new to JSF and has to support an application developed in JSF. Any inputs on this is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • A update down is on my AOL home page is it legitament?

I have a update down load on my AOL> home page is it legitimate? Or will I get hacked???

    I doubt it.
    Yes, probably.
You can open the Menu Panel with the "3-bar" button on the right-side of the Navigation Toolbar, then hit the '''?''' button at the bottom of that Panel.
Then open '''''About Firefox''''' and use the '''Check for Updates''' button to get the new version of Firefox 36.
Basically, don't ever use any "bars" or buttons on any website for Firefox updates.

You're not the only one with this problem. There is a long discussion, with some proposed solutions, in this thread (and searching for "slow" in the Pages forum will bring up other threads as well).

  • After uploading Firefox 18 the AOL Home Page has replaced my Firefox Home Page and I want to remove AOL Home Page

AOL has muscled in and replaced my Firefox home page as above with theirs without permission.
How do I permanently remove the AOL home page to the trash can?
And, if possible, give AOL a "rasberry" for their rudeness?
    Thanks <<<< Peter Barrett

With the recent upgrade of Firefox, AOL has insisted to be the homepage. It does not matter whether you change it to be something else. After you change your homepage, somehow when you have to open another tab, aol will pop saying you have changed your homepage, but will not allow you to click anything until you say yes to returning it to aol. This IS so frustrating. I can't believe Mozilla is allowing it or does not know how to counter it.

  • Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 loaded fine, but doesn't print.

    09.25.10
I just loaded Acrobat 9 trial in WIN 7 and it loaded fine, but doesn't print.
When I go to print a PDF, after entering the file name, an Acrobat software setup box asks for the serial # or "continue to use product on a trial basis".
I select the continue option, click "next" the box disappears - then nothing happens. This repeats each time I try and print, even after a reboot.
Having selected Acrobat as the default printer did not change anything.  Help!  Dave

You may have to update Acrobat. I am not sure that AA9.0 works correctly with Win 7.
