If you just want to migrate the data from legacy system to SAP, you can use Legacy System Migration Workbench (T-Code LSMW) for data migration.

HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 - new - Device error and Cleaning cycle issues

HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 - this is a new printer a friend purchased at Staples. It connects WiFi okay and prints when prompted to but it then does a "Cleaning" cycle after every print job. It also displays "Device Error" at the same time. It has been powercycled as instructed and the error continues to reappear and the "Cleaning" cycle continues as well after each and every print job. My friend paid Staples to set up this printer to a new Acer Laptop and D-Link router he also purchased before he brought them home. He was told everything works fine .. they lied .. Laptop and router have no issues .. just the printer. The Laptop sees the printer okay and software is installed without issue. Any ideas why the "Device Error" and "Cleaning" cycle after every print job is happening? He is on the verge of taking the whole outfit back as Staples has not assisted him and instead directed him to download the manuals from HP. Any suggestions are appreciated

Have you tried a hard reset on it? I know you said you power cycled it, but a hard reset is sometimes different than what some people consider a power cycle.
Follow these steps to perform a hard reset on the printer.
1. Press the Power button to turn on the product.
2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
4. Wait at least 15 seconds.
5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the power button to turn it on.
Try that out and let me know if it helps.

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer

Imac wont boot, stuck loading, all i see is apple logo and spinning cycle

My 27 inch iMac wont boot, i am runnign snow leopard. I just see the apple sign and the cycle spinning meaning its still loading. I cant use disk utility because leopard install disc wont boot, also i cant run any commands in single user mode, doing /sbin/fsck -fy does nothing, i dont see a # sign or anything, whatever i type it doesnt matter whenever i hit return the cursor just goes to the line below.

Power down (assume you have already tried the SMC reset) and insert the Applications DVD that came with your new iMac. Boot up while holding the "D" key down (may be best with a wired keyboard) to run the Apple Hardware Test according to these instructions:

Hello RR,
Residence period: Most of the archiving object residence period is maintained in customizing > Application specific customizing in Archive development tool access through transaction SARA.
Note: There are some archiving object for which you can't maintain residence period however these archiving object residence period should be manually controlled in write variant.
Retention Period: This retention period is mentioned in archive server.
Total retention time = Online Residence period + Offline Retention period.
2. You can schedule archiving jobs by SARA transaction. This transaction will help in scheduling the job background. Or By using Background user id, one can schedule the archiving jobs by background.

Wait and loop cycles in Workflow

We have some order management workflows that have built in wait and loop cycles where the wait time is extremely low. 2 minutes. We have noticed that this (possibly) is causing WF BG process to run extremely long, looping through the same items multiple times in a request. We think that we need to extend those wait times and have the following questions.
-What are the downsides of using small wait times in WF.
-What are some recommendations on how small the wait times can be in "polling" logic using workflows.

Small wait times are greedy and can kill your performance. I am not sure why you need to check whether the hold on the order is released every 2 mins when the WBG itself runs for more than that amount time (as an example). In fact you run the Validate workflow program (by pressing in the Transaction Type setup in OM, it will tell you the same thing).
An hour is good enough. You can run one instance of WBG on emergency basis (in the month end or as needed).
Also you can schedule multiple WBG runs with different parameter combinations.
Say one only checks the deferred workflows and the other one checks only timedout ones and they run independent and you make the program incompatible to itself so that they will not clash.
Also a lot depends on you volume of orders that are being processed by your WBG.
Also it increases your database tables volume as the history tables keep getting populated for every check.

Planning time fence is a standard planning concept. Here is SAP's version

Also, from SAP help
Outside of the planning time fence, procurement proposals are created as usual in the planning run. When these procurement proposals move into the planning time fence, they are firmed automatically depending on the setting of the firming type.
I don't think I explain it any more clearly.
'Planning Cycle' can refer to several different concepts. Can you quote the difinition you are finding difficult to understand?

Hi Archit,
You can check in KSV6, (KSV5 -> GOTO -> Processed till date), it will tell you the cycles run in a given period range. In case the cycle was run in background, it can be found in the log under SM37.
There is no table for cycle run.

Could anyone tell me the difference between distribution and assessment cycles?

hi,
in distribution the original primary costs are sent from the sender to the receiver. thus the original costs can be seen in the receiving cost centre.
in assessment the primary costs are assigned to a secondary cost element in an Allocation structure and the secondary cost elements are seen in the receiving cost centre
assign points if useful.

Frequency and duty cycle measurement

Hi Friends,
Its been very helping from the day 1 i started psoting my questions to this forum...
Now again its time to seek ur help...
My req is something like i have a sound waveform (say a tone) saved as a .wav file.
Say suppose 1.wav.................
I need to evaluate this wave at a particular interval and should be able to calculate duty cycle, dB level, output frequency and peak to peak voltage similar to a CRO.
I already tried with the below VI but its showing for the entire .wav, so need to do some modifications which attains my req, but i am not sure where to kick off....
So anybody who have worked or developed similar VI in past ,please share your exp's

I am facing some new issue with the VI,
Frequency and Duty cycle are coming but the problem is something like the JPG attached.
Its not frequent and only coming for a particular part of the waveform
Is it waveform (.wav) dependent, if so let me know how to debug this.
Attached the VI (modified), snapshot of error and also wavefile (.wav)
P.S: error coming only when the yellow lines selected to the first quarter of the wave.

Assessment:
Assessment was created to transfer primary and secondary costs from a sender cost center to receiving controlling objects. During assessment, cost centers or business processes can be used as senders .n The receivers for an assessment can be a cost center, WBS element, internal order, cost object, or a
business process. You can restrict the number of receiver categories in customizing. n Primary and secondary postings are allocated at the end of the period by means of the user-defined
key.
n During assessment, the original cost elements are summarized into assessment cost elements
(secondary cost element category = 42). As the system writes fewer totals records, the assessment
has a better performance than periodic reposting and distribution.
n Line items are posted for the sender as well as for the receiver, enabling the allocation to be recorded
exactly. The system does not display the original cost elements in the receivers. Therefore,
assessment is useful if the cost drilldown for the receiver is not important, for example, as in the case
of the allocation for the "cafeteria" cost center.
n Similar to distribution, the partner is updated in the totals record during distribution.
n You can reverse assessments as often as required.
n You use the Cycle -Segment method to define sender-receiver relationships.
Distribution:
Differences between periodic reposting and distribution are due to information content and
performance.
n For periodic reposting, no separate credit record is written on the sender for the cost element in the
summary report. Instead, the totals record for the cost element is reduced on the debit side, which
means that the original debit amount can no longer be checked there ("unclean credit"). However,
during distribution, the system writes a totals record for the credit ("clean credit"). The information
on the receiver is the same for periodic reposting and distribution ("clean debit").
n Compared with periodic reposting, during distribution, the system also updates the partner in the
totals record for the sender. This means that the partner can be displayed in the information system
on the totals record level.
n As fewer totals records are written during periodic reposting, performance is better than during
distribution. See customizing for an example with figures that illustrates this aspect. Under utilities,
make settings for the SAPscript text display, then call up the text by choosing Periodic reposting,
Distribution, or Assessment from the menu.

I am trying to create assessment and distribution cycle in production client. But system is giving me an message that system is not modifiable. The transaction code is S_ALR_87005742 - Define Assessment and S_ALR_87005757 - Define Distribution. Is this a configuration activity?

Hi,
Be default, you cannot modify allocation cycles in produtction environment as the settings demand a change request (transport) to be open. However, this could be changed. Please, implement note 326080 for that.
