AP Capacities

I am about start a project to upgrade my wireless access points.  We have auite a mix of 1131, 1142, 3502 and 3602 APs.  I'd like to be able to compare the capacities of these devices in terms of throughput and particularly, number of users.  I am having a difficult time finding this information.  've looked at the data sheets with no real success.  Can anyone point me to it?
Thanks,
Wes

I understand... but this is wireless and you have to do your own testing to determine how may devices you can have on a given access point.  There is no hard document for this at all!!!!!!  You have to look at your oversubscription calculations like you would do on a switch to determine what works for you.  You also are comparing old AP's to the new generation 2 access points... you need to compare apples to apples.  Performance is different, but 25 is still the number no matter what.  If your trying to fund a project with no idea experience in wireless, well that would be hard.  In schools, there are putting one ap per classroom that can have 25-30 max students.  I have clients that double up AP's if they have more than 20 seats in a room.  So again... your best bet is to use the 25 clients per AP unless you are doing video and then you can lower your estimate to around 5.
Thanks,
Scott

  • Machines with different Capacities in a production order

i am have the  Machines of Different Capacities( Ex Machine A :2pcs/hr &  Machine B:4 Pcs Hr).
i have Maintained the Work centers as Same Name.
In actaual Production i want to use both the Machines.
How to maintain in the  Routing .This is only one Operation and i want to use both the Machine.
    Ex :Prod Order Qty :100
I want to use Machine A to manufacture the 60 Qty and use the Machine B for 40 Qty.
    Please give me the Solution

    Dear laks,
I think this will help.  If you have maintained individual capacity as 2 for eg, for machine oriented capacity category then pl maintain the individual capacity details for  those 2 nos. You can give the individual capacities what ever name u like for eg Punch press 10ton, Punch Press 20 ton etc.
Note: you can access the individual capacities in the menu bar "goto - Individual capacities" of the relevant capacity category.
Once you have maintained this, you can assign these individual capacities  in your production order.  You have to enter into the production order operations, double clik on the operation number which has got this WC, then enter into Cap. req assignement tab.  There u can enter the individual capacities detail and assign the quantities for the individual capacities as well.  Also, the capacites will be split and despatched as well.
During the confirmation process, in CO11n, you have to mention the split number as well other than your confirmation / order number.  The system will validate this quantities with the production order capacities split qty.
Regarding parallel routing, i think this will only work if you have two different work centers.
If the scenarios  is always like this, i think it would be preferable to create two diff work centres and like the other members of the forum have suggested, a parallel routing would be ideal.

  • HT4847 Why is there only 5GB of Free iCloud Storage for the iOS Devices? Shouldn't the iDevices that have larger storage capacities than other iDevices, have more than 5GB of Free iCloud Storage offered?

I have a 32GB, 4th Generation iPod Touch, with only 5GB of free iCloud Storage offered. Why should I pay more for iPod Storage, when I receive the same amount of iCloud Storage as the iDevices with less iPod Storage? I understand the Marketing/Business point of view. However, it should appear that it is only logical to increase the offered capacity of free iCloud Storage to those of whom that have purchased an Apple Device with larger storage capacities.

It boils down to that is what Apple does. Just like you don't get a big computer discount if you use your computer more than I do. I don't get a better job because I'm smarter than you are. It's the way things are. You have no more entitlement to something than I do.
As for "business?" Of course it's business. Everything is business. To think this is special just to Apple is to ignore reality.
With iCloud storage we start on a level field - 5 GBs free. Thereafter, it's pay as you go.

  • Physical buttons on E440 touchpad won't work after coffee spill: capacitive layer works fine

Hi, can you help me with my stupid problem?
    I have 2 questions:
    1) Is there a way to enable trackpoint to work with the capacitive layer? I.e. to be able to use it without physically pushing the pad down. Now, as soon as I touch the trackponit, it disables light clicks (touches) of the touchpad, I guess to prevent unintended palm clicks
    2) Is there anything I can do to make the buttons work again? (See the story below.) I have cleaned it all even inside, but there were almost no stains at all anyway, none on chips or cables. And it partially worked just this morning.
I guess I could soak it in water, then ethanol, and finally dig into rice grains for a week or two as a last resort...but I hope for a more electronics-friendly solution.
    Story:
I spilled my coffee into the keyboard and touchpad, and even though almost no water got onto the motherboard (a few drops), I cut off the power supply in less than 10 seconds, and I cleaned it all thoroughly (even managed to get inside the touchpad itself and assemble it all back...what a pain), it works weird.
At first, it registered about 1/10 or 1/20 of physical button presses (depressions of the pad). So technically it somewhat worked. The capacitive (touch) layer worked fine including multitouch. Then I tried to just click on it repeatedly for about 100 times rapidly, and it started to miraculously work 100% fine...for about 30 minutes, then it returned to the 1/20 state again. But as soon as it started to work fine, the multitouch recognition died, so it wouldn't scroll etc. And after returning to the bad state again, multitouch was still dead. Then I tried to reinstall the drivers: multitouch has started to work (so scrolling and gestures are OK now). But the physical buttons appear to be absolutely dead at this moment, it won't register any click/depression at all. The capacitive layer works fine though, so I can still use it as a normal touchpad without physical keys.
But this renders trackpoint unusable as it requires physical depressions of the touchpad to register clicks.
    Thank you very much!

    hi, calleasto
sorry to hear about this mishappen. I recognize it, since it happened to me a few years ago, also my daughter pooring thee (not coffee - but the difference is marginal - ) into an external keyboard. I took it apart and cleaned and dried it very carefully, but never got it working again. This was an external keyboard.
a similar failure occurred to other people with they laptop keyboards (and to me, without "using" any liquid). I presume - without knowing really the interiors of the laptop keyboards - that (1) they are read out in a kind of matrix (sensitive bars arranged in rows and (almost) columns corresponding to keys), which needs two layers of contact strips; and that (2) the layers are separated by plastic sheets.
Your diagnostics seems to imply that
    1) there are still bad contacts (might be liquid where it shouldn't be);
    2) the contact point has shifted ;
The latter could perhaps be due to liquid shifting the pressure away from the point where it should be applied.
    What i would do:
Give the keyboard much time for drying - perhaps by removing the keys again. But there is always the chance that the temperature of the coffee, and the residues are causing troubles and might cause some keys not to function properly.
I think (i am not sure !!) you have a "unibody": i think it is "unique " in the sense that it has no screws (except at the bottom) - and no Firewire outlet. I have never opened my MB, but the only way i see for opening it is from the bottom (there are 4 screws at mine) - but i do not know whether it is advisable to open it. I would check via Phone with Apple before doing anything myself.
    Hope this helps.

  • PXI-2570 switch capacitance

I am generating a 5V peak, 400 kHz signal from an ARB (NI 5401) and inputting it into an amplfier with a gain of about 2, current draw around 400mA and an input voltage of 13V. I am taking the output of that amplifier and going straight into the PXI-2570 relay switches. From NO-1 and NO-2 I run the cable directly to DUT and get a ~2.5V peak-peak signal in which i should be getting a 10V peak-peak signal. If I take the output of the amplifier and without putting it through the relays I run it directly to the DUT i get the 10V peak-peak.
My Question is why when i generate the 5V peak, 400 kHz signal and run it through the PXI-2570 and attach to the DUT do I see the large decrease in peak to peak voltage? Is there some internal capacitance of the relays that would be causing such a drop? The spec for PXI-2570 seems to be able to handle a 400 kHz signal?

    Murphyky,
There’s one more test I’d like you to do with your setup.  Connect the signal from your amplifier, through the switch (modeled as 1 Ohm resistors), and then to a large load (not connected to your DUT).  If the signal shows up without attenuation, then we can confirm that the switch itself is working correctly.
Switches have a resistance listed in the specifications manual.    It is small, but it should still be considered in your design.  You’ve basically built a voltage divider with your circuit.
A colleague of mine simulated your DUT in our Multisim circuit design software to see if we could determine the exact source of the signal attenuation in your DUT.  What sort of load are the two transformers driving?  We found that we could get a wide range of voltages across the DUT just by altering the load attached to the transformers.  See the images I’ve attached for reference:
With the transformers driving 2 Megaohm loads:
With one load reduced to 100 Ohms:
Do you know the specifications of the amplifier that you're using?  Is it possible that it can't source the power required to drive the DUT.
Let me know how the test with the switch goes.  If it passes, there is some other limitation in the circuit that is causing the signal attenuation.
    Good luck with everything.

  • Light bleeding from capacitive buttons.

    Hello.
My brand new Lumia 900 has light bleeding onto the screen from the capacitive button's backlight. There is also light coming out on the leftside between the glass and the polycarbonate.
Is this a common problem and can I return this phone as DOA?
    Thanks.

I have it on mine and honestly its not that obvious, unless you are really looking for it or during night time..
The lumia's generally have quiet a few bugs, both in hardware and software, which I tend to ignore as overall its beautiful phone.
If it worries you too much get it changed although there is little chance the new one might have it as well

  • What can be done to make my capacitive stylus work on my iPad mini?

I have the Griffin Pencil Stylus (which is capacitive), and it will not work on my iPad mini. Sometimes by chance I can make a mark in a drawing app and if I do, I have to press really hard on the screen. It has never worked while putting in my passcode etc. It works fine with my iPhone 4S, but that is not the device I intended it for. Any ideas as to what's going on or if I can do anything to make the stylus work with the iPad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're welcome. This can be done any time things just don't seem to be working right (it's like rebooting your computer).

  • Work Center: Capacities vs Scheduling tab

    Hi everyone,
I am confused on the link between Capacities tab and Scheduling tab when setting up the Work Center. When I run MRP and set it to Lead time scheduling and capacity planning, which figures (for setup, processing, teardown, etc time) are used for the calculation of start/finish basic date and start/finish production date? Is it the figures (setup, processing, teardown, etc time)from Capacities tab OR Scheduling tab in the Work Center? What is the link between Capacities and Scheduling?
Also, in Scheduling tab, there is also capacity category which you have to input. Is this also linked back to all the capacity category stated in the Capacities tab? If we have more than 1 capacity category which do we choose to set in Scheduling tab?
I would be very grateful for any input.
    Thank you very much.
    Cheers,
    Sue

    Hi,
The link between the scheduling and capacity
in Capacity tab we will give the capacities of particular machine ex work center is machine so we are declaring the capacity of the machine. saying I have capacity of eating 10 chocolates that is you're capacity.
if machine is working defiantly labor will be there so we are defining the labor capacity also but for calculating the dates we are using the machine capacity only which we are defining in the scheduling tab
in the scheduling tab we are declaring that for any MRP or Production consider the capacity of the Machine for calculating the dates like start date and finished dates.
In the routing we are declaring for manufacturing of X quantity of materials we require machine time, labor time setup time etc
    EX:
Machine Capacity in WC= 2 hour
Labor Capacity in WC= 2 Hr
so in the Scheduling Tab we will give machine to calculate the dates.
In routing for Manufacturing of 1 ea we require
    Machine time = 1 hour
    Labor time = 30 mins
    Set up = 20 mins
so if you have given demand for manufacturing of 10 EA run MRP
then it will give 5 days to manufacture 10 EA because work center capacity is only 2 hour..
simple logic for manufacturing of 1 EA it takes 1 hour of machine time so for manufacturing of 10 EA it takes 10 hours but my capacity is only 2 hours per day so 10/2=5 days.
hope this may clear you're dout
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • PP-Diffrence between "Capacities" tab & "Scheduling" tab in work center

    Dear Friends,
While creating work center in t.code CR01, i am entering the following formulae in "Capacities" tab:
    1. Setup formula
    2. Processing Formula
    3. Teardown formula.
I am entering the same details(formulae) in the "Scheduling" tab also.
What is the difference of maintaining the formulas is two diffrerens tabs?
If i do not maintain the formula in "Scheduling" tab, How it will effect?
    please explain me.
    Regards
    Senthil

    Hi,
      Thank you.
    Let me consider some example.
Assume in routing i have maintained standard time as 10 min for each quantity.
My total production order quantity is 100.  (Order number 300000)
So the formula in "Capacities" tab will calculate the total capacity  required to complete the production order as 1000 min. Is it so?
    1000 min means, 16.6 hours.
let us assume that, the particular work center has been blocked for another 83 (three and half days) hours by other production orders. So i can not start the work immeadiately. After three and half days only i can start the production order 300000.
So if i maintain the formula in "Scheduling" tab only, the system can propose the information that Planned start date as 07.09.2007 & Planned End date as 07.09.2007. (Based on the forward scheduling / backward scheduling). Is it so?

  • Waiting to take in eMac for capacitator repair?

My eMac has a bulging, possibly slightly leaky capacitator, and often needs to be booted a few times in order to not freeze. (Although when it does get running, it seems to work well.)
However, I'm a student, and in the middle of a large-ish project at present--with the 1.25 gHz replacement parts apparently on backorder, per another thread, I'm better off having a freezing computer at home than none at all. What I'm wondering is whether continuing to run my eMac for another week or so with this capactiator problem is going to cause more problems in the computer than already exist.

I think (and this is only my opinion) is to make sure you get your computer backed up, as though I am quessing a bit the capacitor is probably on the logic board and its unknown
when they will come back in stock and by the amount of posts
and those who have not posted there may be a fair amount of
folks in line/que already with case numbers (possibly)
Not sure if you have a back up drive or how big your project is but if your computer/logic board fails you could get a
non startable computer (worst case scenario) I by pure dumb luck backed mine up completely before mine acted up and Applecare gave me a case number and instructed me to take it to a Apple Resller/repair facility which I did and they called
and said they ordered a logic board and its out of stock
I do not know if you can access some else's mac or rent one
I think the Rent A centers rent PC's but I could be wrong
    Best of luck.
If you have not gotten hold of Apple, follow the instructions on the eMac logic board program or if you have applecare go that route,
