AP Mobile News App Wrong Date
I've had the latest version of this app on my 3g for a while now and haven't had any issues until today. When I clicked on it all the current news stories loaded properly but all were showing December 31, 1969. Again all the news items are current - not from 1969!! - so other than the date it's working properly. My wife has the same app on the original iphone so I pulled it up there and the correct times display - 20 mins.,30 mins., etc. so everything is normal there. The same news items that I'm showing on my phone also come up. I tried deleting the app from the phone as well as iTunes, and then I down loaded it again to the phone from the app store but I got the same result. Has anyone else seen a similar issue?

I was just able to correct this. I went into Settings - General - Reset. I reset all settings. You don't lose anything but you will have to reorganize your home screens and any wifi network you've previously logged into. Also some sound and screen brightness settings. Didn't take very long. After doing this the correct dates and time showed on the news items. I had previously messed with the 24 hr. setting following someone's directions as to how to get an AM/PM indicator to show on the sleep/wake screen when you first push the top button. Apparently that messed up something with the app.
So the reset worked for me, however I only have 2 Home screens being used. For those of you who have a lot more, rearranging the order back to where you had it could be tedious.

i have a fully updated iphone 5. My calendar app is showing the date on the wrong day of the week from January 2015 onwards. In yearly view it is OK but is wrong in monthly view. Also in monthly view September 2014 is missing and I have 2 x October 2014. Can anybody help????

Can't dowload new apps wrong store -
I live in Kuwait, purchased my ipad in Kuwait, signed into the Kuwait store, am trying to download new versions of apps I already have on my ipad that were downloaded from the Kuwait store, suddenly after months of using my ipad in Kuwait downloading apps before, get the message
"You account is not valied for use in the the US store. You must switch to the Kuwaiti store before purchasing."
I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER USED THE US STORE.
I did check the setting and I AM signed into the Kuwaiti store, logged off and signed in again but continue to get the same message.

I seem to have a very similar problem. I recently updated from the 3GS to the iPhone4 and transferred all my apps to the new phone. My problem is when I try to update my apps I am told to "verify the account" I input all the appropriate info, go to the app store try again and get the same message. I am trying to interact with Apple support to see if there is a solution. I suspect that the different serial numbers of your iphone and iPad are not linked to your account. -
I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.

The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me. -
"Stocks" App posts wrong dates for news articles
I often read the news articles shown under the stocks that I own. I have noticed that with the iPod's included Stock app, the date of the news articles are not accurate. I go to read what I think is a recent news article, only to find out that it is a month old. I also notice the same old news headlines each day being refreshed with the current day's date again and again.
Just reporting this as a bug and an annoyance, making the Stocks App provided with the iPod basically useless.
Are there any known solutions other than using a different Stock app?I know i posted a similar post earlier this week. But the tutorial I got pointed at didnt work for what im trying to accomplish...

The new Photo app was installed and some photos and full folders got the wrong date. I could not find a way to edit the date as single photo or from a folder like we had before on iPhoto. Is this something the developers forgot or there is a magic key combination to make it happen?

Attached a screen shoot with a 2018 picture... the mac is now showing our future pictures...and to make things even more strange i just logged in to Photos online through icloud and have a picture that was taken last Friday 1st May but online Photos is saying that it was taken 30 December 2014

Data source issue in new app creation
Using Hyp. 9.3 I am trying to create a new application. The data source for the new app was created in sql server and it was used to create a new app. The problem is after going throught the create new app wizard, the new app was there but no db. I think I may have refreshed instead of create. Anyway I went ahead and deleted the app and tried to start fresh to create the new app. But when I went to select the data source it is no longer there. I checked the sql server connection and it seems fine. So what could have happened to the data source?
If the essbase database does not exist and you click refresh it will create the database.
Anyway can you not just create a new datasource.

When I download a new app from App Store and press open when it's complete, it won't do anything, and when I look on my home screens it's nowhere to be found but if I go to settings and look under icloud and usage, I can find them but out from it says no data. I have tried deleting them and reinstalling but that's no working either... Please help me.. Thank you very much:)
Try resetting the phone. Push both the home and lock button at the same time until it goes off. Keep them pushed until the Apple logo come up...
Also, try deleting the app and downloading it again. -
I've been using Ringtone Maker to add ringtones to my iPhone. The app is now telling me my music I bought from the iTunes store is not exportable. I downloaded a new app called Ringer and it says my song "has no audio tracks". Wha am I doing wrong??

why is it that when I look through the new apps in the apps store in release date mode it returns to the first page after veiwing more information about some apps, I could be ten to twenty pages in and have it happen.
Also, I only speak and read English and although there are probably great apps for people from other nations, I don't want to wade through all the apps that I can't make use of. I expect that people of other nationalities or languages don't want to have to wade through every app that they can't make use of, is there not a way that alI users could filter by language?

If you synced it many times, you have to have a backup. It's just a question of how old that backup is now. When did you last sync?
First of all launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see any backups for you iPad in that window? If so, how new is the newest backup? That will be the backup that you will want to use. But remember that if you use that backup and it is one month old, you can only restore from that date back in time. Anything that you did on the iPad in the past month will not be in that backup.
Turn on the new iPad Minin and start activating OTA via WiFi. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will be given the choice to Set up as new, Restore from iCloud - or Restore from iTunes. You will want to select Restore from iTunes.
That is the short and sweet version. There are step by step instructions in this article. This applies to the mini as well as the iPad 4 or the iPad 3 for that matter.

I have 2 apple id's with different apps and data saved under each. It's very annoying so now I want to create a new id with my primary email address I use now. If I do that is there any way to transfer all my saved apps and app data like game saves etc so I don't lose all of that information and can easily switch to a singular apple id?
Apple does not transfer content bought with one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple will not merge two Apple IDs.
If most of your content was bought with the Yahoo! Apple ID but you now want the Gmail address for your Apple ID, the trick will be to change the address used for the Yahoo ID with the Gmail address. However, to do that you must first free the Gmail address from that other Apple ID. Use the instructions from Apple to substitute another address that is not used as an Apple ID for your Gmail address in the Apple ID with the Gmail address. Then, when the Gmail address is no longer used in an Apple ID, you can use the same instructions to substitute the Gmail address for the Yahoo address in the Apple ID with the Yahoo address.

Can I restore settings, apps and data from an external hard drive to new Macbook Pro?
I recently lost my Macbook Pro to water damage. It was about 3 years old and tuned for comfort. Unfortunately, my most recent backup is at least 3 months old. I purchased a new MacBook Pro and I'm wondering what my options are for migrating my settings, apps and data from the old hard drive to the new MacBook Pro? I have a USB drive bay that I plan to attach to the new MBP to gain access to the old hard drive. Someone suggested Migration Assistant but my research hasn't turned up any information about migrating data from an external drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.THANKS! I guess my research wasn't THAT thorough. I booted with the external drive attached and setup immediately gave me the option to setup using Migration Assistant. It was a little slow via USB (2+ hours) but it was nothing compared to the time it would have taken to do it manually. My new 15" MBP looks exactly like my old 13" MBP. AWESOME!!!

Calendar app icon is displaying the wrong date
For some reason on my iPhone's homescreen the icon for the Calendar app has today started displaying the wrong date.
It should show today's date, Monday 6th but instead it reads Sunday 5th.
What confuses me is that the phone does know the date is Monday 6th as the lock screen shows it correctly and also when I actually load the Calendar app it starts on the right date. Also, when I load the multi task bar the Calendar app icon there is correct. See the attached photo, which shows the Calendar app on the home screen (faded, middle left) displaying yesterdays date Sunday 5th, while the app icon in the multi task bar is correct, Monday 6th.
Syncing the calendar with my iMac does not correct the error. Equally, turning the phone off and on again has not sorted it.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the fault? And more importantly how to correct it?
Thanks.Thanks for the suggestion DaVBMan, sadly it didn't work. The only thing that did work was to wait until midnight and it corrected itself. In the mind of the phone it lived a whole day twice and then skipped one completely in order to get back on track. Very odd and also I have since discovered it has happened to a few of my friends too.
It's not happened again so I have no idea what so ever what caused it. Fingers crossed it never recurs.
