AP seems to be bricked

One of my customers gave me an old AIR-AP350 series access point.
When you power it on it gives 3 solid amber lights, then flashes 3 solid red lights, then 3 solid green lights and then all activity stops as far as the indicator lights go. I don't get any response at all through the ethernet port and I get nothing through the serial port.
Is there anything I can do with this or is it junk?

    Title pretty much says it all. Install seemed to be going fine, then upon restart it hit a gray screen with a progress bar for about 30 seconds.     Hi, I work for a software development company that does iOS apps. Once iOS7 beta came out I downloaded it. Both my iPhone and iPad are not synchronized with the developer ID but my personal ID, however, my two devices where registered with the developer ID from my company.
    Now I'm getting the activation error and have no idea what to do, as there are really no options.
    What should I do? I really am a developer and wasn't using the iOS7 beta in any wrong way.

  • Serious W7 Bug - ALL ATi Drivers for Thinkpads /w Switchable Graphics Technology bricks OS.

    Alas, i have found one serious bug for my Thinkpad.
    It comes with Switchable Graphics Card Technology, with an Intel GMA 4500MHD and ATi Mobility Radeon 3470 paired together.
    I have initially installed Pre-RTM 7260(ok, i know it's leaked), and faced the problem for the first time after installing the ATi drivers from either Windows Update OR ATi's website. However i have downgraded back to Release Candidate as there was stability issues with EXPLORER.exe
    Anyway, surprising what i've though to be a show-stopper bug was also present in RC 7100. After installing(or rather, midway through) the driver installation, the screen blinks for a moment and after that, Explorer.exe is nowhere to be found with only wallpaper. OS seems to be bricked as restart does nothing. Only a System Restore prior to installation would solve the issue.
    After diagnosing the problem, i have found the issue to be with the Switchable Graphics Card system. In BIOS, it was set to Swithable Graphics, with OS Detection set to Enabled, Thinkpad LCD Display(for output). I tried to set the graphics to either Discrete(ATi) or Integrated(Intel) but when i booted the system up it was in SVGA resolution and DXDIAG stating no graphics found. When it was in Discrete, i tried to install the ATi drivers once again, and although installation was successful, after restarting the same thing happened.
    To be fair, i have repeated the drivers installation EXACTLY the same for both Windows 7 Builds(7100 RC and 7260 Pre-RTM) and the same problem occured. I have also tried to install the ATi drivers before the Intel Chipset(and basically the rest) and it's the same nevertheless.
    I believe that this is a serious issue with Switchable Graphics Technology for Windows 7 Beta, since we have to make do with the generic Microsoft display adapter alone. I hope Lenovo engineers can put priority a solution for this as soon as possible.

    Sorry to hear you are having difficulties.
    When I installed RC1 (build 7100), it came with a built-in driver that worked just fine for the discrete graphics in my W500.
    A few weeks later, I installed the current release Vista driver for integrated graphics (this one) and it is working just fine as well.  Installing the Lenovo driver gave me the ATI control panel (not sure what use that is), otherwise, it didn't affect performance either way.
    I have switchable graphics turned off in the BIOS, OS detection turned off, and have the machine set to use the discrete graphics only.  I think it would be a bit much to expect either Microsoft or Lenovo to support the switchable graphics this early in the development of Windows 7.  Besides, the discrete graphics doesn't eat up the battery that much - I still get 3 hours of battery life, which is sufficient for my needs.
    Maybe try turning switchable graphics and switchable graphics detection off in your BIOS, that might get you running again.

  • Latest Lion Update has bricked my ATV2?

    Have just updated my IMac EFI Update 1.8.  It seems to have bricked my connection to my ATV 2.  This has been the only change to my settings since I last used my ATV.  My ATV tells me to check that iTunes is open, that I have allowed home sharing and that both the ATV and iTunes are running on the same wifi network...
    Well yes...  Checked this and re-set both iTunes and the ATV I do not know how many times.  Am now seeing if the ATV is heavy enough to be a paper weight.  All this talk about a high definition Apple TV comming to market suddenly looks ridiculous if our friends at Apple can't get this one right...
    Any advice greatfully received.

  • WRT110 Bricked after fw update to 1.0.07

    My wrt110 started disconnecting twice and even three times a day for the past week or so.  After getting tired of it I decided to look for a fw update.  Hold and behold there was, from 1.0.05 I was going to upgrade to 1.0.07.  Well halfway through the process using the web-console connected via ethernet & ie8 the freaking upgrade stopped at 80% and the browser page went blank.  Immediately I knew I was probably out of luck, looked at the wrt110 to see a blinking power light.  I've done all the resets in the world inluding the so called 30-30-30 to no avail.

    As the power light on the router is blinking,the router seems to be bricked.Try this link to Unbrick the router and try to upgrade the firmware again on the router.

  • "Bricked" WRT310n V1

    During a firmware upgrade I seem to have "bricked" by router.
    Have tried to TFTP new firmware to the device and all seems to go OK i.e. I boot th WRT and TFTP starts and finishes correctly after uploading the firmware but the blue power light keeps flashing and I can't access the web managment - the WRT can be pinged at its address 192.168.1.1 after I have uploaded the firmware up until I power cycle it and then it can't be pinged until I start the firmware flash process again
    Have I missed anything?

    I actually had the same issue but mine was because I installed the V2 firmware on a V1 and bricked mine.
    I had a really hard time getting the original firmware installed but here are the steps that finally worked.
    Downloaded the firmware to my laptop and put on the root of C:\
    renamed the file to upgrade.bin (just to make it easier to type)
    I connected my laptop to port 1 and put my laptop into the network with an IP of 192.168.1.100, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.1.1
    I opened 2 command prompt windows.
    On the left side of the screen I ran a continuous ping (ping -t 192.168.1.1)
    On the right side of the screen I setup a tftp (tftp -i 192.168.1.1 PUT upgrade.bin) at the root (type c:\ and enter to get to root) but don't hit enter yet.
    I then plugged in my router, press the reset and hold it. Hold it until you see the ethernet port light turn off, it will be off for like a second or two. This will take somewhere around 45 seconds to a minute. Once I see the ethernet port go out, I let go of the reset and pressed enter on the tftp.
    About 10 seconds later I saw the pings were successful and then a bit later I would see the transfer succeed.
    Then I reset the router again, but this time just for 30 seconds.
    Once that was done, my router was restored completely.

  • New A2109 power issue and what I've learned so far

    Hello all,
    The battery was low on my new A2109 last night so I turned it off and put it on the charger overnight.  However now it seems to be bricked......will not power on, cannot be see on computer either when connected.  I tried all the tips and tricks that I could find on the forums, to no avail.....no power, no boot, nothing.  Tried another charger....nothing.
    So I called the Lenovo support number and spoke with someone that I could barely understand, who went down the mandatory checklist to try all of the things that I had already tried.....still bricked.  She told me I could send it in to the factory for repair.
    Now then contrast this with the 4 Kindle Fires that my family owns (4.......I am the contrarion and found the Lenovo on sale so I decided to try it out)  Anyway, one Kindle fire had this happen.......my daughter dropped it and broke the screen.  She called Amazon and they sent her a new one, mind you.....she dropped it and told them that she dropped it.  They said no problem, we will send you a new one....just be sure to send the old one back within 30 days, which we did.
    Another Kindle Fire, just died after several months.  Called Amazon and they said, no problem we'll send you a new one.....two days later it arrived and I used the box to send the defective one back to them in.
    I should have stuck with the great service from Amazon (lesson learned) .....anyway, now I will attempt to return the A2109 to the store where I bought it next week and get my money back to buy the 8.9" Kindle Fire.  Barring that, I suppose I will have to return the Lenovo to the factory and wait the weeks for it to come back eating crow all the while.......  I've eaten my share before....just never developed a taste for it.
    It just seems that someone should know my experiences and act accordingly if this post shows up to prospective Lenovo buyers through Google searches AND I just needed to voice my frustrations a bit.

    Was frustrated when I posted this last night so I thought I might add a short review and addendum about what I did like about the A2109 for the seven days that it worked, as well as a few places it seemed to fall short:
    Loved the GPS feature, as well as the fact that I could add a memory card, also the HDMI was a great feature.  The overall size was perfect if a tad heavy but I will take that any day over light and plastic.
    Not being able to remove factory Apps was inconvenient, however I understand that I could have rooted it and performed that task later. .......... Also had a strange screen flicker that was a bit annoying.
    Brightness, battery life, ease of use....all excellent.
    Also, I'm sure there are tons of users out there who are experiencing no problems and the device is performing flawlessly for them.  In fact while my own problems are not enjoyable, they are hardly a surprise, I have had problems with devices before......that's why customer service is so important.

  • Unable to Set-Up ePrint for Deskjet 3050A

    Hi,
    I'ved my HP Deskjet 3050A for some time, however I've recently set it up using Wi-Fi, which I find amazing! Furthermore, I wanted to set up the ePrint service, so that I'm able to print remotely from other devices I use. I followed the instructions through the HP website and couldn't seem to get past Step 1.
    Step one asks me to asks me to register an account with ePrint, which I have done. However, it then asks me for a 'Printer Claim Code'. This is where I seem to hit brick wall. It asks me to print a 'Web services information sheet'. To do this I must click the ePrint button on my printer and select 'Print Info Page'. However, when I do this I'm shown an error which reads...
    "The printer could not connect to the Internet. Check Internet connection."
    I then tried various other ways by looking through this forum, however they all seems to lead to the same problem. I can print fine through my computer using Wi-Fi.
    Can anyone offer any support on this?

    Hi Chris,
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that when you are trying to enable the web services on your Deskjet 3050A printer that you are getting a connection error message.
    Please start by setting a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer.  I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screen shots, on how to do this.  Don’t stress that the screen shots are for a Photosmart 7510 printer, the steps are the same.
    Please let me know how it goes.

  • Wireless connection to mobiles

    Hi there,
    I'm having some trouble with the new BT infinity wireless connection for the mobiles in the house.
    Using the HH3.
    Wireless connection between the 2 laptops in the house is fine and the wired connection fine.
    However keeping a connection on the mobiles is struggling.
    On my iphone 3gs i can connect to my wireless network and shortly after will be disconnected and join a neighbours bt openzone network which gets me to a splash page. Basically useless.
    The same happens on my housemates HTC desire.
    If i stare at the wireless light on the HH it will occasionally blink, this times in with the phones disconnect.
    The log seems to be useless because all it shows is the connections not the disconnections
    The HH is located in the exact same spot the router was when i was on virgin previously and had no problems whatsoever, (with the local network, the overall connection was poop). This old router seems to have bricked itself somehow and is not available to test with.
    Is this a common fault?
    Can i replace the HH with another router? for instance a D-Link 825?
    I don't hold much stock generally with generic ISP supplied kit so replacing the router isn't really a problem as it's kinda expected.

    the HH3 is supposed to change channel automatically to avoid conflict with other networks.  maybe you can try manually selecting a free channel or at least away from neighbours channel.
    try downloading inssider2 (istumbler if MAC) and then run it. This will show the broadcasting networks round about you and their channels including your own. Then enter your router and change your wireless channel to a free or less congested channel.

  • Strange Crash when opening Logic 9 after deleting control surfaces preferences file

    Hey, I have been having issues where logic crashes when I save certain projects of mine, so I tried to find a solution and one that I had read said that I should delete the control surfaces preferences file named com.apple.logic.pro.cs.  I deleted the file, but it seems to have bricked my copy of Logic.  I have included a screenshot of what happens when I now open Logic, which requires a force quit to get out of.  If anyone has any suggestions of what I should do next I would really appreciate it.

    Solved.  It was an issue with my prokit (I had also been messing with that unfortunately).  Found another thread and followed their instructions, back in action.  Feel free to lock this thread.

  • Scrolling stutters after upgrade to iOS 4.0.1

    I have noticed yesterday after I upgraded to iOS 4.0.1 that scrolling down through a long list started to stutter. It is especially noticeable in the App Store when I first begin to scroll down. If I scroll down and then scroll back up and down again it is smooth. So it just stutters when first loading the data.
    Anybody else noticed this? Or is this normal?
    Is there a way to downgrade to iOS 4? I find this stuttering really annoying and the upgrade didn't do anything for my antenna anyway. If I do a restore will that bring my phone back to the way it was before the upgrade?
    P.S. I closed all apps in the multitasking pane and did a hard reset but this did not make any difference.

    It seems to usually be an alright thing to upgrade.. but why.. this just doesn't seem like something that should've happened to me. I hope this works it self out.. I'm sort of ticked right now.
