AP Tax based on Items

Can anyone provide a quick explanation of how I would be able to get taxation based on item for tax exempt, tax recoverable or taxable?
Is this best practice on determining a purchased item taxability?
Thank you in advance!

Better try to update in a positive manner as to whether the suggestions resolved your issue and if so, which one has helped you.  This will help others who have similar requirement.

  • Calculation of sales tax for free item

    Dear SAP B1 Experts
I have query regarding sales tax calculation for free item .
    For EG.  I have two item for sales (A = 1000,  B = 100)   Sales tax is VAT4%
But when i am doing sales, i am selling B for free of cost with A for Rs 1000/-
    here my tax calculation is (1000 *4%)  = 1040/-
but as per the govt sales tax rule, we are liable to pay the tax for free item as well
So I this case, In SAP B1 how we will calculate the tax 4% for free item  .
    Please help me.
    Thanks

i have checked, its working okay, but
in Invoice print out unit price and line total is showing for free item.  How i make the unite price 0 .
Tax only calculation is based on the Line total and the line total is based on the unit price.
in that case when i give the invoice to the customer.
    It should show like this
    Item A       100   * 10         1000
      "    B           0   * 1              00
                                             1000
    4% tax                               44
    Doc Total             =           1044

  • Table for tax code line item after miro

Can anybody tell table for tax code line item (other than BSET) after MIRO.
    Raj

    Hi,
First let me explain you the logic in this repot.
If a document have more than one GL accounts relevant for tax and having the same tax code. So there is only one tax line for that tax code in BSET.
Now in the standard reports like S_ALR_87012357, output has the tax base amount etc, based on tax line from BSET which is a single line the above document. However this single line contains multiple tax relevant account and thus SAP can not show all the G/L account for this single line in the report S_ALR_87012357. So SAP picks up the first account in the output.
The declaration in this report is not wrong, as the total gets calculated based on the tax code and which is correct and meets the tax reporting requirement.
If you want to see the G/L account wise output, you can use the program RFUMSV10. Refer OSS note 1175418 "RFUMSV00: G/L account display" for details.
    https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1175418
In your report, you can use this program logic for reference.

  • Withholding Tax by Line Item (not by vendor)

    Hi,
Thereu2019s been more than 1 occasion where clients request for withholding tax at line items (purchase equipment and service in 1 invoice. Equipment no withholding tax but service has withholding tax).  However, as far as I know, the withholding tax is applicable by vendor and not by line item of the vendor. Is there any workaround on this?
    Regards,
    Cheah

If i understand correctly, you have prepared PO for material plus service, service attracts WHT
you could prepare two different vendors - one for material, one for service - even though the vendor is same, and maintain WHT only in service vendor.
under PO there is condition types for service, there you can enter this second vendor who is providing service.
i think this way you issue should get resolved.
Pl share how to finally got thru it.
    Thanks

  • Authorization check based on item category on sales order (VA01 or VA02)

I want to be able to restrict authorization of users based on item category. We only want certain users to be able to select a certain item category.  I know I'm going to have to check one of the userexits in MV45AFZZ. The issue I'm having is the authorization object .
The item category is field VBAP-PSTYV.
What we are going is having a item category for emergency orders. But this requires more manual steps to associate with the original order. We already have the emergency item categories defined and working (no credit check etc) so there's no reason not to have them added to the original order. The issue is its use has to be restricted so when the user selects an alternative item category it checks whether they have the authority.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi,
You can achieve this through authorization objects.
    Transaction
    SU20 - Authorization Fields
    SU21 - Authorization Objects
Create the field PSTYV in the Authorization Fields.
Then Create the authorization object and include this field along with the standard field ACTVT (which determines what activities can be performed by a certain user i.e. Create, Change or Display) & user-name
In your your-exit, you can either use the ABAP command AUTHORITY-CHECK or the function-module AUTHORITY_CHECK and pass the values for these fields. The system can perform the test based on this values & based on the sy-subrc value you can restrict the users that are not having the authorization to select item-categories for emergency orders.

  • Approval procedure based on item category

    Dear All,
I have a scenario where all my sales items will be categorized under two broad heads: Bulk & Non Bulk. So there will be a UDF where every item will be mapped to one of these values. I want to apply an approval procedure where I am able to raise an approval to different set of people for Bulk Items and different set of people in case of Non Bulk items. Kindly help me how I can do the same.
    Regards
    Kapil Kapoor

    Hi,
It's not possible to create approval procedure based on item level. So if in a single document you have different types of (bulk/non-bulk) items you can't trigger different approval procedures.
In case you select the item type in a UDF in header level of a document, then it will be possible to send approval to different users based on the UDF value selected bulk/non-bulk.

  • Shipping point determination based on item category

    Dear
we have a requirment which needs to determine shipping point based on item category. anyone could share how to achieve that? I am familiar with sap standard shipping determination rule: shipping condition in sold-to-party MMD or shipping condition within sale document type + loading group + delivery plant. However those condtions wouldnt fullfill our needs. the items within a sales order are exactly same except item category, such as item 10 is TAN , item 20 is TAB item.I want the system get different shipping point for those two different item category.
any though would be appreciated and thank you,
    best regards
    peng. tang

As already suggested, you can consider going with differentiating the Loading Group in material master, so that via standard configuration itself, you can achieve the desired result.  On the other hand, if this is not possible, then, you can try with USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_LIPS in include MV50AFZ1

  • Tax amount line item with Business area in Billing Doc generating to A/cing

    Hi,
While generating the Billing Doc, for the Tax amount line item , the Business area shd be populated. How this can be done? while  for the othter line items it is displaying but not for the tax amount line item.

In ECC 6.0 with document splitting and new GL business area would be available in the general ledger view for tax postings. For earlier versions than ECC 6.0 use balance sheet adjustment program SAPF180 to populate business area for tax items.

  • Commision based on item group & customer group

    Dear all,
Does anyone have an idea about how to get commission based on item group & customer group sales?
My customer wanted commission report based on item group or customer group & based on payment collection dated.
    Example
Term given for customer A is 30 days.
    12/3/09 Inv 1000   RM 10,000   30 days payment
    20/4/09 Inv 2000  RM    5,000   60 days payment
The term given is 30 days of the invoice month.
Salesman will get commission if get the collection at May'09 for Inv 1000, & July'09 for iinv 2000 based on the invoice date month.
The salesman get commission at any date of the month May'09. More longer collection, less commission they will get.
    Example:
    Salesman A
Customer Group             1st of the month, 2nd of the month, 3rd of the month, 4th of the month
    Normal Dealer                         1.5%         ,  0.75%,              0.00%                   ,    -0.25%
    Sub Distributor                       0.5%         ,  0.25%,               0.00%                  ,    - 0.25%
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance?
    Regards,
    Eric Tan

    Hi Eric
SAP does not calculate commissions, but merely provide a mechanism to report on it. The multi level calculation you require can be achived with a custom query linked to a report layout. Standard SAP will not provide this type of calculation. You will need to look at the open transactions such as invoices and link to the relevant payment transaction to get the payment date. Then compare this date to the invoice due date to determine if the terms were adhered to or not. If not payment date - due date in number of days will be needed to calculate the effective commission percentage.

  • EDI invoice idoc error "Enter a tax code in item 000001"

    Hello,
I am trying ot post the EDI  invoice but the idoc getting failed by giving error "Enter a tax code in item 000001".
Even i entered the tax code in my idoc, system not taking and also as i have maintained the table OBCD & OBCE but system not consider it.
If i maintained the tax code in my PO then it is posting the invoice with PO tax code sucessfully.
Please let me know, Is their any other setting needs tobe done for idoc to post the invoice without maintained TAX CODE  in PO ?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Satish

No option available .you have to maintain tax code in PO.
Try your luck with following option Still not sure as it works only if you call transaction MIRO
OLMR -- incoming invoice -- maintain default value for tax codes

  • Sales Order Taxes based on Sold-To instead of Ship-To

We are in the situation were we need to determine taxes based on the Sold To location instead of the Ship To.  We are located in Canada and using Jurisdiction codes for our taxes (CTXJ).
I have done a bunch of investigation that seems to lead to believe that this should be possible but I am little stuck as to how at this point...
What I am thinking is in Condition Type CTXJ is using Access Sequence UTX1 Access 10 condition table 40 (Country/State/Customer Classif.1/Material Classification 1) I need to somehow influence the mapping between condition REGIO and KOMK - REGIO.
So I have a couple questions...
    1) Is their another field that I missed in KOMK for the Sold-To Region?
    2) Is their a way via standard config to change the was REGIO is set in KOMK?
    3) Do I need to use USER_EXIT_KOMK to manually over ride the value ?
    4) I have missed something completely to accomplish this?
    Cheers,
    Derek

  • FRM-40209 Field must be of form . - for a non-based text item

    Hello,
When I try querying using a VARCHAR2 non-based text item in a table-based block, setting dynamically in PRE-QUERY trigger the DEFAULT_WHERE property for its block, in case I use characters > or < (for bringing values greater or smaller than the one in the field, as in a standard Oracle query) error message is raised: 'FRM-40209 Field must be of form .' The issue has nothing to do with the error itself (usually related to erronated format mask of the field), and it is known as an Oracle Forms bug: I found it as bug 851153 - which appears on execute query if you enter in a non-base-table-item and the block has a pre-query trigger. The bug has been solved later in Oracle Developer Forms Builder 6i, or so I've been reading, problem is the application I'm working to requires Forms Builder 6.0.5.
I am trying to find an workaround for this situation and these are the info I managed to discover myself on the topic:
    - if I fill the field with '>value instead of >value, query works fine, bringing only values greater than the specified value. (So far, this and inactivating the FRM-40209 error in ON-ERROR trigger seems like the best I can do)
    - if I only use > (without '), I cannot use an auxiliar variable/global in which to store the actual value written in the field, I also cannot print the value in a message, because trying to use the exact string, it is shown as null (even though when the error is raised, value is still shown on the screen in the text item).
Maybe someone could help with an idea for an workaround in order to copy the content of the text field before it actually becomes null…
    Thank you in advance.

I have already tried that... but for some reasons the field already appears as null, when I try to use it.

  • Price list based on item group

It would be great to have possibility to set up price lists with different factors based on item groups. Now it can be achieved by setting Period and Volume Discounts. But it doesn't allow to display correct price in Item Master Data or setup rounding.

    Hi,
If I understand you correctly, here is the answer:
    1. An option of create new price list based on Item Cost. YES
    2. Have the ITEM COST as price list. (for AVG and STANDARD items valuation). Not sure what you exact mean. Probably not.
    3. For items with valuation FIFO, can consider other price list only for this items, that include the information over FIFO layer.  Probably not.

  • Service Type A/R Credit Memo Based on Item Type A/R Invoice???

    Hi  Experts,
How can we Raise Service Type A/R Credit Memo  for An A/R Invoice Which is Based on Item Type A/R Invoice???
We Need this Solution for A/R Invoice Which has been Claimed for Shortage but Actually No Return of Stock to us.
    Regards,
    M.Senthilnathan

    Hi Senthil.....
On the basis of item type AR invoice its not possible to raise the service type AR credit memo.
But one thing you can do is yoou can raise the separate AR invoice and service credit memo. But later you need to
reconcile both the transactions manual. This way you can solve your purpose....
