AP- Why exchange rate type between Post invoice and Post payment is differe

AP- Why exchange rate type between Post invoice and Post payment is different ?
Hello,
I have question
when post AP invoice , document type KR
document date = 11.12.2009
posting date = 31.12.2009
entry date = 05.01.2010
this document using exchange rate type B (standard translation at bank selling rate) on 31.12.2009 (use posting date )
but when post payment for above document, document type ZP
document date = 25.06.2010
posting date = 25.06.2010
entry date = 24.06.2010
this document using exchange rate type M (standard translation at average rate) on 23.06.2010
please answer
why do post invoice and post payment use different exchange rate type?
and why at payment donot use posting date for get exchange rate ?

Nanas,
Sorry if im not  being clear...
My point is: the difference rates customization for payments is done at FBZP.
At Paying Company Codes, you have 4 flags for exchange rates differentes.
At Control Data look:
*Do not Post any Exchange Rate Differences:
If the indicator is not set, the difference between the exchange rate at the time of posting and the exchange rate at the time of payment is determined for items which are posted in foreign currency. The payment program uses the translation rate in the currency table in the system for this purpose.
*No Exchange Rate Differences for Partial Payments:
Has the effect that the payment program for partial payments (requests for payment using transaction F-59) does not post exchange rate differences.
*Processing of Bill of Exchange Payments:
*Separate Payment for each Payment Reference

  • Exchange Rate difference between PO , GR and IR

    Hi All,
I have a question, Does anyone know how to handle the PO exchange rate difference between PO , GR and IR time.
    For example
    1.  PO creation on Jan 2009  - exchange rate = 1.2
    2.  GR creation on Feb 2009 - exchange rate = 1.5
    3.  IR  creation on March 2009 - exchange rate = 1.7
Should GR and IR use the PO exchange rate # 1 for posting or use the current exchange # 2 for GR and #3 for IR ?
    Thank you
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
The exchange rates in PO and GR and IR will be different as if you have are updating the rates per month in system so it will changed.

  • Difference between Parked invoice and posted park invoice.

    Dear All,
I am trying to create a new program to extract the invoices posted by MIRO and MIR7.  I have no problem to find invoices posted by MIRO in RBKP and RSEG.
However, as currenty one user will use MIR7 to park invoices and another user will use MIRO to post the invoices, I don't know how to sparate the parked invoice and posted park invoice. C's I have found that the parked not posted invoice and posted park invoice were all displayed in RBKP with transaction code MIR7.
    Thank you very much
    Emma

    Hi,
    *Park*
If the Invoice document is missing some information that is required for posting. In this case we will park the document. Here some preliminary checks will be performed.  Balance might not be zero. But in this case updates were performed.
    *Post*
The invoice was posted online and verified as being correct(Balance must be Zero). Updates were made.
Please use RBKP-RBSTAT field to find out the different type os status.
    I hope this helps.

  • Question the relationship between AR invoice and Outgoing payment

    Dear All,
Does anyone the know the the relationship between AR invoice and Outgoing payment? because I would like to print the report in specific date range. For example, today is 02 July 2009. I want to print "AR invoice as at 31 Mar 2009", by using SQL. It seems like date back.
    From Samson

    Hi Samson,
Even i haven't done much r n d  bout this but what i came to know is that, there might be a scenario where you may want to make a payment to your customer. In this case we can use the Outgoing payment for the same. The system doesnt stop you from doin so. I have seen this in SAP B1 2005B, PL34.

  • Exchange rate type for vendor invoice

    Hi,
How to know which exchange rate type is being considered during postings vendor invoice in foreign currency.
Company code currency is EUR and I am posting an invoice in USD.
I checked OB08 and exchange rate with type M does not match with one calculated in FB60.
I checked document type KR (OBA7) -exchange rate type 'M' is mentioned.
I checked additional currencies for company code (OB22) - all currencies use exchange rate type 'M'
So how to check which exchange rate type is being used by system.
    Thanks.

    Hi
For posting vendor invoice which doc type are you using. If other than KR check that one also in oba7. And for OB08 you have to check for Ex rate M from EUR to USD what is the curr rate.

  • Why exchange rate type "EURX" is used ?

    Dear all,
I post with FB65 a document with currency EUR.
The local currency is THB and group currency is CHF.
The document type doesn't have specific exchange rate type ==> by default the type "M" is taken.
But, when I post a document with currency EUR, the system doesn't take the type "M", but the type "EURX".
In this case, I don't want to use "EURX", but I want to use "M".
    How can I do ?
    Thanks for your help
    Best regards

Please check the configuration in OBBS.  You would have specified an alternate exch. rate type (EURX) for exch. rate type M for the currency pair in question.
Please refer to the following notes as well.
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/139553
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/123819
PS: OB22 would not tell you anything.

  • Exchange Rate type B in invoice

    Hi Experts
I have configured for the exchange rate type to pick at the invoice for billing date. The customer master has exchange rate type as B. The sale order also has the exchange rate B from OB08. But when I create the invoice it shows as customer exchange rate as B but picks the value for exchange rate type M in header level. At item level it is copying from sale order exchange rate.
Please let me know if I have missed any configuration so that the exchange rate B is picked in invoice

Have a look at the following note:-

  • Needs Diff. Exchange rates type for sales trans and Purc Trans

    Hi Gurus,
My requirement is that for a same foreign currency i need to pick two different rates one for purchase related activites and another for sales related activites. is that possible in standard SAP.
    Example of my scenario:
My company code currency is INR.
on 10.09.2007 if i make purchase of goods in USD system picks the rate i maintain for usd from the exchange rate type "M".
On the same day if i make any sales in USD system is picking it again from the same exchange rate type "M', but i want to pick it from exchange rate type "G".
Kindly Advice me what to be done.
    Thanks and Regards
    Karthik

    Hi,
For SD related transactions, you can maintain the exchange rate in Customer Master - Sales Area Data. In Sales Tab you can maintain "Exchange Rate Type" for transactions related to that Customer.
Probably, for MM you can continue with the standard M.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Apply different exchange rate types in sales order and invoice

    Dear Experts,
How to configure different  exchagnes in sales order and invoice?
For example, use average exchange rate in sales order but current exchange rate in invoice.
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Wang Hui

    Hi all,
I also need to apply different exchange rate between sales order and Invoice.
    E.g:
condition type currency (komv-waers)          sales document currency (komk-waerk)         company currency (t001-waers)
In my example, each of above currencies can be different:
    komv-waers = EUR
    komk-waerk = USD
    t001-waers = GBP
I tried through VTFL transaction but it is not working in all situations cause VTFL allows me to manage situations where
    komk-waerk NE T001-waers
But I need to convert condition types where
    komk-waerk EQ T001-waers but
    komv-waers NE komk-waerk
Can I manage this situation through SAP standard and/or VTFL transaction?
    Is there any other solution?
I really hope you can help me
    Thanks a lot
    Regards
    Andrea

    Please advise
    Regards.

    Hi,
    You can use MR11.
If you do not want the exchange rate difference to occure, then use the "Fixed Exchange Rate" in the PO header.

  • Different Exchange Rate Type for Vendors and Customers Invoices

    Dear Friends,
We have configured different exchange rate types for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable thru T Code OB07. What are the additional Config steps required to ensure that the respective buying and selling rates will apply to Accounts Payables and Receivables. We do not want to stipulate the exchange rate types in Document Types as this special exchange rates are applicable only for one of the Company Codes.
Would appreciate your help in this regard.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Then you can use a different document type for those company codes and can default the exchange rate type there.
    OR,
The alternative wya is to use the substitution in OBBH/ GGB1 for those company codes with exit programming.

  • Exchange Rate Type 'M'

I have maintained average rate 'M' for currency translation and done direct quotation method.  However, while doing a posting, system picks up some other exchange rate type (say, EURX) and exchange rates.
I am not able to understand why exchange rate type M is not being picked up ?
    Please help me out.

    Thx for the responses.
I found EURX type is available in the system.  But I dont want to default it for my postings.  I want the system to pick up type M.  I have not defined any type at the document level.
    Please help.

  • Exchange rate type

    Hello everyone,
I would like to know the differences between the different exchange rate types, particularly EURO, EURX and M.
    From what I've read:
EURO is the fixed currency between old EMU-participating currencies and the Euro (DEM<->EUR, ...).
EURX is a variable rate between non-participating currencies and the Euro  (USD<->EUR, ...)
What about M? What's the relationship between M and EURX?
How are these exchange rates maintained?
Is there such a thing as an average monthly exchange rate in SAP?
    Best Regards,
    Luís.

    Hi:
M exchange rate type is maintained in Territory where floating rate of exchange is in voyage..ER are maintained in OB08 with type M along with rates for foreign currency,,TCURR and TCURF are the tables where ER are stored.Open item Valuation in foreign currency are done based on rates entered in OB08...Hence when ER is fluctuating we use an average ER type M as provided by SAP...This can also be made specific to document type in OBA7..

  • Change exchange rate type

    Hi,
How can I change exchange rate type for posting principle flow in case of fixed term deposit. System by default takes M type. I want to change it to S type.Define  I have already changed exchange rate type in calculation indicator and Company Code Additional Data but it doesn't work.
    Thanks

    Hi,
By default the exchange rate type M will only be picked.  The setting you make under calculation indicator is only for securities and loans area.
For you requirement, pls check the note 450171 and see the appropriate place where you have to do the modification.
    Regards,
    Ravi
