AP1131G fail to bring ethernet link up

My AP1131Gs was automomous and I was upgrade to LAPs.After few days several APs was fail due to ethernet cable(one of pins is broken).I can not bring it up
connect to WLC anymore. Then I try to recover back to automomous by press Mode switch on APs through TFTP.It is back to IOS image but I found the APs FE0 and BVI1 always down.I try to change configure FE0 to speed 100/duplex full and it is up( link up/ping OK). But I can not upgrade this APs as before.
I was told this is AP bug?Is is true?
Someone could give me further info about this?

I tried this once and it worked. If IOS is running on AP login and do:
archive download-sw /overwrite tftp:///
Example:
archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://10.4.1.20/C:\TFTP-Root/c1250-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.JA3.tar
Good luck

    Nevermind, got it working.
It seems I just forgot to type the rest of the clunky auto-generated network profile name.
Thanks for the quick help nonetheless!

  • SL500 - ethernet link light always on

Wondering if anyone else has/is having a problem with their lappy. The ethernet link light is always on whether or not there is a cable attached or not. This happens with the factory install (XP) or my own Windows 7 install. If I disable the NIC the light goes off, but anytime the NIC is enabled, and the cabled isnt plugged in, the light is on. If I attached a cable to the NIC it doesnt obtain an IP, still stays at the 169.254... The BIOS is the latest ver. and IPCONFIG will show a 169.254.blah.blah address which suggests to me its just stuffed.. anyone else seen this b4??

Turns out after a couple of years of 'not  worrying about it' and using a work around of a USB ethernet adapter.... it turns out the rest of the world has the same issue as me with the SL500 series.. Enabling/forcing 10mb/full duplex, the connection will work.. turn it to auto or anything else.. it fails.. Some have reported problems with work on battery but plugging in AC power causes it to fail..  My issue, is that if I set it to auto or 1Gb Auto, and reboot, the ethernet light will stay on not stop, even if there is no cable attached.. This is seen even when sitting at a PXE boot or BIOS screen with no cable atached... If I then reboot into the O.S... set it to 10Mb/Full, and reboot again.. all is well, At that setting even in the BIOS and I disconnect the cable the lights go off (as you would expect)..
I have seen dozens upon dozens of posts over the net about the exact same issue (it just took a long time to find what the hell I was chasing, and enough time to care to find out too).. But it seems theres issues with the capacitors on the motherboard for the particular NIC for this machine.. AND.. as reported by dozens and dozens.. is to replace 1-2 capcitors on the motherboard to resolve.. (but having worked for IBM, before it the 'THINK' range was bought out by Lenovo, the fix is to replace the motherboard entirely..)

  • Failed while creating virtual Ethernet switch. Failed to connect Ethernet switch port

    Hello Folks
I am completely stuck with the configuration of my virtual networks. I have one logical switch left to add to one of my Hyper-V 2012 R2 hosts when I started getting the error below when I try to add logical switches to either Hyper-V Host. I have been using
the document. 'Hybrid Cloud with NVGRE (Cloud OS)' to implement the virtual networking. Basically using the exact configuration that is in the document. I have added the PA Logical Network and the Network adapters and added the logical switch for it to my
hyper-v 2012 R2 host and everything was fine. I am now trying to add my ISCSI Logical Switch to the host and this is the error I get. My other Hyper-V host I get this error for any logical switch I am trying to add. Can someone help me with this error. I haven't
been able to find any information about it.
Also a some quick info on tracing an error like this so I can figure out what is causing it.
Thsi is my configuration so far
So as far as I know everything is peachy untill the error below. Dead stop now
    Error (12700)
VMM cannot complete the host operation on the 08-NY-VHOST01.accounts.ccac-ont.ca server because of the error: Failed while creating virtual Ethernet switch.

notice your GUID?  you may want to consider ensuring that is the same GUID associated in your database.  Sometimes during data corruption theres a smidge of a chance your sql database kind of either pulls old guids esp if this was reverted to snapshot
without it being powered off etc.
I would try that first.  then i would consider if you get to configure that with your current liscense associated with the host.  I would need way more info to help any further

  • Customer Equipment for Metro Ethernet Link

    Hi All
It has been some time since I utilised Cisco network kit to provide private circuit point to point connectivity and I wonder if someone could give me a little guidence.
The customer is shortly to implement a new 100Mb Metro Ethernet link to connect two of their branches. They initially intend to use the link for data only traffic but eventually will want to route VOIP traffic across the link so bandwidth management and QoS will be essential components. It is unlikely that further links will be added to this link so built in expansion of the chosen routers may not be required.
Budget will be an issue on this so I would appreciate any advice or recomendations.
    Thanks
    J.

    Hello James,
I think it would be better to get in touch with your Cisco Account Team as this question cannot be answered on a forum post.
    Thanks,

    Hi jsibeko,
Since the VMware offer the MSCS shared storage solution themselves, I suggest you first ask VMware whether that shared storage is supported with your vSphere edition, I found
some VMware KB about the VMware shared storage for MSCS, may you can get more tips.
    The VMware KB:
Microsoft Clustering on VMware vSphere: Guidelines for supported configurations (1037959)
    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1037959

I’m glad to be of help to you!

  • Windows host cannot establish Ethernet link to Arch Router

    This is a weird problem.
I have a Windows host about 20 meters away from my Arch Router, the Ethernet cable goes into the wall, with wall sockets, so it's a total of 3 cables (1 in wall, 1 @ router, 1 @ host). I've tested the Ethernet cables with a LAN tester, they are all fine. When I connect the host to a Linksys router using the same cables, an IP address is obtained and the link is up and running.
But when I connect the host to my Arch Router (an Arch computer with some network cards), no ethernet link at all is detected. No lights on the ethernet card of the host, and ethtool on the router reports the link being down. I have connected my laptop to this ethernet card of the router and it works just fine, I get an IP and I can surf the web etc.
I really have no clue why this other host cannot establish a link. Does anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

pyther is right. Check for Auto-MDIX support on your network cards.
What network cards are you using?
    Rule of thumb:
Auto-MDIX is a requirement in the Gigabit Ethernet specification, so proper Gigabit capable cards will work 99% of the time whatever cable you use.
Fast Ethernet (100mbit) and below does not have Auto-MDIX in it's specification, so those 9 out of 10 of those cards will not perform it! When connecting these directly to another network card, use a cross-cable.
Also make sure the network cards are in working order. I assume the ArchRouter PC's network runs fine when you connect that to your Linksys router?

com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Failed to lookup External Link for: portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.benefits_payment/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.benparticipation
    Any one have any ideas?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,

I did some more research. It seems like we are having the same problem on another portal server. So I don't think I caused the problem. This is coming from the standard business planning pages like planning wizard, planning modeler, etc.

  • Monitoring ethernet links

    Hello All,
Is there any other method to monitor ethernet links apart from IP sla and monitoring tunnel.
    Regards,
    Sathvik

I take it you want to verify confirmed end-end reachability of both sides of an Ethernet connection from the router itself. The usual approach is to use an external tools that looks at each end's characteristics and makes a conclusion based on that.
If you want something closer to the absolute truth then IP SLA and tunnel monitoring are good ones. Depending on the platform you may be able to use something like mediatrace as well. You can also leverage embedded event manager (EEM) to give you some insight.

  • Ethernet Link Status Detection

    Hi,
I am trying to write a program to detect the ethernet link status of an hme/eri ethernet driver.
It is possible to do so using the "ndd -get /dev/hme link_status" command. However, I need
a very efficient inplementation which can accomplish this in a couple of ms.
The ndd man page describes that it uses some ioctl calls to the driver. However, I was not able
to find any specifics of how to make the ioctl call. The /usr/inlcude/sys/hme.h page provides some
#define that may be being used but I still haven't been able to figure out how to make the ioctl
    call.
Previously, I was planning to use the kstat API which has an ifspeed parameter, but my tests
show that this is not updated if the ethernet link goes down.
Any help by providing details of the ioctl call or pointing out some alternative approach will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Pari

Mac OS X Server v10.7 does not show the ethernet link aggregated interface i created. Does Lion server support ethernet link aggregated interfaces?

    Thanks for responding Cold--
Hardware: Mac Pro  3.0 GHZ quad core xeon
I read the link but it still does not explain why the aggregated dual ethernet interface does not show up in the Network tab of the hardware section Lion Server. I was able to see it on the network and looks to be using a single static IP that I assigned. My concern was that is this supported and will it allow for failover and double performance of the single network interface.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks again!

  • Time Machine fails with "error while linking files on the backup volume"

One of my drives was nearly full. I moved some folders from that drive to one that had more space.
The next TM backup failed with "error while linking files on the backup volume". A full backup is about 620 GB, although this backup shouldn't have been a complete one. There was 570+ GB free on the drive.
A Disk Verify reported "Drive appears to be okay." Earlier TM backups appeared to be fine (at least accessible). I swapped the TM drive for another, initialized it, and TM used that drive with no complaints.
    What does the message mean?

See #A1 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
Your user account may not have permission to see the logs.
The sentence beginning "If the message area is blank ..." shows how to figure out if that's the problem, and how to fix it.

All other browsers I have tried update the followed links on the Google page dynamically without it being reloaded but Safari does not.
I do not use tabs and am not sure if those using tabs will be aware of the bug.
This is the only thing which stops me using Safari as my default browser.
I would be grateful if others can confirm that they also get this bug.

    Many thanks bdash.
I am surprised it was not included with this week's Safari 3.2.1.
I have just tried iCab and the result is consistent with it being a WebKit issue.
The original bug report that you linked to compared Safari with Firefox but, from memory, with the exception of WebKit virtually all browsers produced from at least 5 series onwards have dynamically updated followed links.
I will put a link to this thread on

and any other pages about this issue which I come across.
Thanks again for your timely helpful reply - I will mark this as 'answered'.
