AP3 forgets search state on quit
This is very irritating. AP2 would remember when your Library was set to "Unrated or Better" upon quit and relaunch. AP3 automatically sets the search state to "Show All" when opening. I don't want photos that I've already rejected showing up in my library every time I open the program! Does anyone know of a way to resolve this? Or is it just a new "feature?"
I can replicate it now, if I click on "Photos" in the Aperture library dropdown. Since "photos" isn't a project or album, I can see why this doesn't work here.
I'd file a feature request in the feedback to allow the selection state to be persistent for those "non album" categories.
In the meantime,Since "photos" is a New category as of aperture 3, you can use an aperture 2 technique to work around this if you find yourself using a "top level" selection a lot. Make A smart album that is for All photos unrated or better.

How to write a search statement under region source?
I want to write a search statement under region source, how to do that? I want it work exactly like this:
Select firstname || lastname as name from employee
where searchstring like '%firstname%' or searchstring like '%lastname%'
Thanks.Hello,
You can define two text items on your report region – Px_FIRSTNAME and Px_LASTNAME. You should condition the report by these items not being null. You’ll also need a submit button. In the first page load, the report will not be rendered, as the search items are null. After submit, their values will be set on session state, and your report will be able to use them.
In the report query, you are using the page items as if they are bind variables. In your example, you can use something like this:
Select firstname ||' '||lastname as name
from employee
where firstname like '%'||:Px_FIRSTNAME||'%'
or lastname like '%'||:Px_LASTNAME||'%'You can, of course, use any where clause you need to get the desired results.

Arie.

Creating search state to search for multiple types
Hi,
I am creating a search field where an user can type any word and it will search for it in three different types of assets.
As of now, I am creating three diff search states and adding corresponding constraint to them.
Is this the right way to do OR is there any work around where I can create only one search state and add three diff constrains for these diff asset types.
Any guidance will be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Nelash JindalHave you explored the integrated lucene search functionality? Basically you can allow lucene to index the asset types you want to search in and create a search form that queries the index. The internal search in the contributor UI is using the same method.
Check the developers guide page: 857 Public Site Search, this could be used for your purpose as well... On the authoring environment all asset types are already enabled to be indexed.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Have searched Forums for quite some time now. Cannot find a correct answer to: how do I prevent my old email address from appearing as the "from:" address when I use a "send this" link on a webpage/news article. The email window opens and automatically inserts my old Hotmail address instead of the Yahoo address I've used for a long time. (The drop-down won't let me change it or delete it.) Thanks.
Do you get a drop down list with suggestions if you clear that "from" field and click elsewhere on that page to move the focus off that field and then double-click again in that field or start typing the first letters of that unwanted email address?
Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop down list:
#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

When I begin typing in search bar it quits unexpectedly after first letters out tap iOS
after updating the iOS two times ago, my search function began quitting as I began typing in the search bar. After I type the first letter, the keyboard blinks away. It is so irritating. Now when I add a photot from my camera roll to an email, whether in i mail or through the gmail app, it also quits unexpectedly.
ANy ideas? I am ready to look at the nexus 9 tablet. This update mini has been plagued with issues since I first got it.
sadly enough... crowgrrlHi Crowgrrl,
If you are having issues with your iPad search quitting and difficulties adding photos to email, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPad -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

I hope you can help solve this issue as it has continued for a very long time and is very annoying. I always send the reports to APPLE but the problem persists...
Thank you,
<Email Edited By Host>You can deal with the complicated solutions offered by all those gracious individuals that graciousely take time out of their schedule in an attempt to assist you. I noticed that you have not upgraded. Apple wants you to upgrade. I had all the same issues with software and hardware. Long story short if you want to fix your problems pay for all hardware and software upgrades. This isn't Apple anymore.

Problem with Binary search statement
Hi,
I have problem with reading the internal with Binary search.
I have two internal tables BSAS and BSIS. In BSAS I have 1,200,000 line items and BSIS 500,000 line items. I need to delete the line items if BSIS-BELNR NE BSAS-AUGBL.
I am using the following code :
LOOP AT gt_bsas .
READ TABLE gt_bsis WITH KEY bukrs = gt_bsas-bukrs
belnr = gt_bsas-augbl
gjahr = gt_bsas-gjahr.
IF sy-subrc NE 0.
DELETE gt_bsas.
CLEAR gt_bsas.
ELSE.
endif.
endloop.
By this execution of the loop is taking long time. If I use the binary search it is fast but result is not correct.
Please suggest me, how to resolve this issue.
Thanks,
Sri.Try this way:
LOOP AT gt_bsas .
<b>SORT GT_BSIS BY BUKRS BELNR GJAHR.</b>
READ TABLE gt_bsis WITH KEY bukrs = gt_bsas-bukrs
belnr = gt_bsas-augbl
gjahr = gt_bsas-gjahr
<b>BINARY SEARCH.</b>
<b>IF sy-subrc eq 0.</b>
****Do Nothing.
ELSE.
<b>DELETE gt_bsas sy-tabix.</b>
CLEAR gt_bsas.
endif.
endloop.
1. Also make sure that the KEY mentioned in READ statement follows the same seqeunce of gt_bsis structure.
Thanks,
Santosh

Fullscreen apps forget their state
If I have an application in fullscreen (Safari, Mail, iCal etc) and close its windows without quitting the application two things happen:
1 the Menubar disappears.
2 if I then open the application again from the Application Switcher or the Dock the application is no longer in fullscreen. I wish that it would remember its previous state.
Although this happens in each of the applications it is most noticeable in Safair where one is more likely to open and close windows. In Mail and iCal it is more usual to have just one main window open all the time.Thanks for explaining how app's loss of state can happen. However, I'm sure that the behavior of the four apps I mentioned is much worse than just a few months ago. Something must have changed, and iOS 7 is the main difference. The Kindle app behaves as it used to, but the others do not. Maybe I should note the problem in reviews of the apps themselves in the App Store -- and down rate the apps.

Iphoto forgets everything new when quitting!?
Iphoto forgets any albums I make and any photos I import from camera when quitting.
I recently have upgraded to tiger btw, and this all started since upgrading to tiger which has caused a long list of problems..
I am fully up to date as far as software updates go.
I have tried trashing iphoto's preferences = no joy
Tried command alt at iphoto start-up = no joy (after watching the rebuilding for 15 minutes a message told me IIRC that it couldn't rebuild as the library or disk is locked.
I have found the new photos in the iphoto mess in the pictures folder of my user. I deleted them and their folders (the ones for each day, not the whole lib!).
I have repaired permissions, and tried command alt booting iphoto = same no joy as above.
Things I haven't tried - Re-installing iphoto, fiddling or deleting one or more of the various iphoto database type files, and shouting at my ibook/iphoto.
Backing up is impossible right now, my maxtor one touch died on me the other day and I need to talk to the apple store about a replacement or refund.Hi richard,
The iPhoto library in the finder is organized differently than with the open application.
This is a view of how the iPhoto Library looks in the Finder.
It is organized by Year folders. Inside the Year folders are Month folders. Inside the Month folders are the days of the Month. Inside the day folders are the photos you took on that day. If you imported video clips and RAW files on that day they will be in an Originals folder. If you have edited any photo imported on that day, the original will be in that folder also.
Two Apple kbs for you to read
Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto library folder
About the iPhoto Library folder
Now that that info is out of the way, it does seem iPhoto is not saving the changes because you lost permissions somewhere along the line for something within iPhoto library in the finder.
To check permissions on the iPhoto Library folder in the finder, and change them if necessary, take a look at this screenshot.
iPhoto Library Info
Make sure the permissions are Read/Write for you and make sure to check the box at the bottom of the window. -
How To render content tree flex parent asset using search state tag
i m creating asset in flex parent and and i placed this in a tree tab. i want to get the attribute value inside level2 in content tree.
For eg:
1.product
2.cctv
-480cam
-520 cam
2.standalone
-hseries
-pioneer
Now i want to get the values of (480,520)if i render cctv...same way retreive attribute value (hseries,pioneert) if i use standalone
how this possible using searchstate tag please anyone know help me.This is my code.....
<searchstate:create name="pro22" op="and"/>
<searchstate:addstandardconstraint name="pro22" attribute="AssetAttrl2" immediateonly="true" typename="HF_Attribute_A"/>
<assetset:setsearchedassets name="pro33" assettypes="HF_Product_P" constraint="pro22" fixedlist="true"/>
<assetset:getassetlist name="pro33" listvarname="imagelist11" list="listout" />
<ics:if condition='<%= ics.GetList("imagelist11") !=null && ics.GetList("imagelist11").hasData()%>'>
<ics:then>
<ics:listloop listname="imagelist11">
<ics:listget fieldname="assetid" listname="imagelist11" output="imag22"/>
<render:calltemplate tname="HF_3rdlevelProductPage" c="HF_Product_P" cid='<%=ics.GetVar("imag22") %>' ></render:calltemplate><br/>
</ics:listloop>
</ics:then>
</ics:if>WCS flex asset model supports a concept called "inheritance". This means, all the attribute values at parent level can be accessed at child level. You can use this to search all the Product_C assets using an attribute at parent level.
<listobject:create name="lo" columns="value" />
<listobject:addrow name="lo">
<listobject:argument name="value" value="cctv"/>
</listobject:addrow>
<listobject:tolist name="lo" listvarname="matchlist"/>
<searchstate:create name="pro22" op="and"/>
<searchstate:addstandardconstraint name="pro22" attribute="AssetAttrl2" list="matchlist" typename="HF_Attribute_A"/>
<assetset:setsearchedassets name="pro33" assettypes="HF_Product_C" constraint="pro22" fixedlist="true"/>
The above serach state gives you all the products matching CCTV.
Hope this helps

Save search state between pages
I have a webapp with two taskflows with page fragments:
Search
Edit
In the search you can search for entities and the results are displayed in a table. You can select an entity from the table and press an "Edit" button to go to the edit taskflow where the row is displayed in a form for editing.
On the edit page you can either commit or rollback (save and cancel buttons), both of which return you to the search taskflow.
Now my problem is that when i return to the search page it has been "reset", i.e. my search results are empty.
How can i make sure that my search results are saved and then restored when i return from the edit page, no matter if i made some changes or cancelled?
Do i have to save the thing the user searched for and then re-execute the query on the view object which the search page is based on?
or is there a way to save the actual search results (viewobject rows, iterator state, etc) so i dont have to re-execute the query?
I am using JDevelopers 11.1.2.
Im in a bit of a rush atm, so the above description may not be the most detailed. Please let me know if you need more info.Do i have to save the thing the user searched for and then re-execute the query on the view object which the search page is based on?Yes this is the process. However, as long as your data is not changed, the execution of the query will be done on top of the entity cache.
or is there a way to save the actual search results (viewobject rows, iterator state, etc) so i dont have to re-execute the query?Perhaps this article can provide some guidelines: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/58-optimizedadffacescomponentsearch-175858.pdf

Mac app store runs/searches continuously - force quit
I was notified there is an update through the Mac App Store. However, when I enter the store and then the updates, it continuously searches and never stops (well, for and hour I let it run). I cannot stop the search nor can I install the update I was notified existed. The app must be force-quit to exit as 'Quit' and 'red dot' do nothing. How can I get the app to complete its search and/or install the existing update?
MacBook AirThis procedure will delete certain temporary and cache files used by system processes. The files are automatically generated and don't contain any of your data. Occasionally they can become corrupt and cause problems such as yours.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/var/folders/zz
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with a subfolder named "zz" selected. Move that subfolder to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -
HT1414 My search states that I have a virus, help
My I -pad states that I have a virus in safari ,I cannot use search,, help
Your search is wrong, unless you have jailbroken your iPad - I'm not aware of any viruses for iOS devices.
Clear Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't clear the message then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

Can anybody explain me this code .
thanks in advance
suganya.dHi,
Consider your code.
REPORT abc.
DATA:
str(100) TYPE c VALUE 'Abap object '.
SEARCH str FOR 'Object'.
WRITE:/ sy-subrc, sy-fdpos, sy-tabix.
*Result : 0 5 1
String 'Object' found so sy-subrc =0.
String 'Object' found in str at 5 positon (012345) so sy-fdpos = 5.
Its a single record(not an internal table so sy-yabix = 1)
SEARCH str FOR '. .'.
WRITE:/ sy-subrc, sy-fdpos, sy-tabix.
*Result : 0 4 1
space found so sy-subrc =0.
space found in str at 4 positon (012345) so sy-fdpos = 4.
Its a single record(not an internal table so sy-yabix = 1)
SEARCH str FOR 'OBj*'.
WRITE:/ sy-subrc, sy-fdpos, sy-tabix.
*Result : 0 5 1
String starting with 'Obj*' found so sy-subrc =0.
String starting with 'Obj*' found in str at 5 positon (012345) so sy-fdpos = 5.
Its a single record(not an internal table so sy-yabix = 1)
SY-SUBRC = 0:
The search string < > was found in the field < >.
SY-FDPOS contains the offset of the found string or the found word within the field.
SY-SUBRC = 4:
The search string < > was not found in the field < >.
SY-TABIX is in case of searching in Internal tables. It contains the index where the record was found in the Internal table.
<b>SEARCH str FOR 'OBj*'.</b>
>>>Search <b>str</b> for pattern starting with <b>OBj</b>
<b>SEARCH str FOR '. .'.</b>
>>>Search <b>str</b> for any full points with space <b>'. .'</b>

Arun Sambargi.
