can any one help
Regards
AjitHi A,
I am having issues trying to get a small application that I developed in eclipse (CR4E)that uses Crystal Reports to work with Oracle's JDeveloper OC4J embedded server. I can run the application fine and when I try to view a report I get a partial report rendering and then get the following Exception:
Also while inserting on the page Showing error on the page

Actually i am firstly Compiling CR4E in that i am using Apace Tomcat Server 5.5 .in CR4E it is Running fine But while inserting these .Jsp file in Jdeveloper and in that I am Using OC4J server for compiling that time gives these above error
Can OC4J server not supporting to .rpt files?
Thank You !
Sincerely,
Ajit -
dear friends,
i am very new to java technology. now i downloaded j2ee in windows but it is not working. some people told me to install tomcat server as webserver. so plz tell me how can i download tomcat server. plz tell me in deatail the process. becoz i find the links of tomcat server at apace.jakarta.com but when i goto to download it shows so many tar . and then i confused. so plz tell me in deatil how to install tomcat server and then how can i starrt my j2eedon't begin with J2EE if you're new to Java.
I know it's all the hype but it's not a beginner's technology.
Start with the J2SE and the tutorials about that (check the sidebar on the main page for those), and once you're comfortable with the language THEN you can try J2EE and will have less problems understanding what you need and why. -
Hi All,
i am using jdev version 11.1.1.5.0
and deployed my Adf application on Apache Tomcat 6.0.
in my use case i have created simple adf application using adf business component. create a vo based on eo and drag-drop on jspx page.
i have created JNDI data source in Apache server using edit context.xml file and add following line-
<Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
type="javax.sql.DataSource" driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:dst"
username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
maxWait="-1" accessToUnderlyingConnectionAllowed="true" />
3.using same data source in my adf applicatioin as -
right click on AM --> Configuration-->edit-->select connection type jdbc datasource -->java:/comp/env/jdbc/TestDB
4. after that i have deployed my application on apace server but when i have running application i have got following error-
org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.PoolingDataSource$PoolGuardConnectionWrapper cannot be cast to oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection
i have goggling and find following solution-
oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection delConn = (oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection) ((org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.DelegatingConnection)c_stmt.getConnection()).getDelegate();
but my problem is that i'm using Adf Business Component so where i set following type casting.
Is there any method on ADF BC which handle JNDI Data source setting or any other way to do this.
thanks in Advance
ManishHi dvohra21,
thanks for reply.
i don't understand where i go to set accessToUnderlyingConnectionAllowed =true
i have already set this property on context.xml file
<Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
type="javax.sql.DataSource" driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:dst"
username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
maxWait="-1" accessToUnderlyingConnectionAllowed="true" />
any other place where i set this propery
please elaborate this steps how to Configuree DBCP -
Jsp import package error after upgrading to jdk1.4.2_08 and tomcat 5.0
I am trying to upgrade the jdk and tomcat from 1.3/3.3 to 1.4/5.0.
My jsp imports worked fine prior to the upgrade, but now I get the following:

The package in the import statement "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.*" actually has no classes in it. The classes are contained in "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.controller.*". If I change the import statement everything works. The problem is that I have 100s of jsps. If there is a work-around outside of changing the import statements, that would be best.
Can anyone help? Thanks.do you know what url is being looked up? the message is complaining that the url is starting with the string "an]", which seems pretty bogus.

My requirement is to compile a source distribution of MOD-JK 1.2.21 (apache 2.0 server connector)and to produce binary distribution (*.so file) in solaris9 X86 box. But i got only source distribution of solaris10 X86 platform . Even with this source i tried to compile in solaris9 box its giving some error message and i can't able to make a executable file. Below i pasted the error message .

As for your compiler problem, make sure you have /usr/ccs/bin/ in the your path, if you do not have it installed you will have to add the pkg SUNWsprot. You do not have 'make' in yout path.

How the #^&*#^* do I set a enviromental variable... I like to do this when the box boots....
Anyone with experience installing tomcat on a clean solaris9 box and setting the JAVA_HOME?

Hi folks,
I hope this is the right forum for this discussion -- if you, I'll be happy if people point me in the right direction.
So:
I've got a question regarding running Tomcat 4.0.6 as an NT service. During the install, I answered 'yes' when asked if I wanted to set up Tomcat as a service. Seemed to work great. After dropping in two webapps, one works fine, the other does not. It looks very much like a Classpath issue, like the Tomcat server simply doesn't know where to find the classes in the second webapp.
Is there some way to determine what the classpath of the service version of a 4.0.6 Tomcat server is? I'm not seeing the wrapper.properties files people reference when talking about earlier versions of Tomcat.
I uninstalled the service, and am now unable to add it back again. Here are a couple of things I've tried, based on what I could find on the web (I found the Jakara docs sorely lacking):
tomcat.exe -install "%SERVICENAME%" "%JAVA_HOME%\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll" -jvm_option -Djava.class.path=%JAVACLASSPATH% -jvm_option -Dcatalina.home="%CATALINA_HOME%" -start org.apache.catalina.startup.BootstrapService -jvm_option -Xms128M -jvm_option -Xmx256M -params start -stop org.apache.catalina.startup.BootstrapService -params stop -out "%CATALINA_HOME%\logs\stdout.log" -err "%CATALINA_HOME%\logs\stderr.log"
No dice. Unable to create service.
Deciding to try and go the bare-bones route, I also tried this:
D:\ApacheTomcat4.0.6\bin>tomcat -install "Tomcat" d:\jdk1.3.1_06\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll -start org.apac
he.catalina.startup.BootstrapService
This told me the service was created, but when I try to start it, wham, no luck. "Could not start the Tomcat service on Local Computer. The service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator."
Anyone have any advice for me? My apologies if I'm missing something obvious.
-HarriganDid you remove all references to TOMCAT from the registry before you reinstalled? I had similar experience and corrected by removing all references to TOMCAT from registry before reinstallation.
TOMCAT 1st looks at your classpath. -
Problem with JNI and Tomcat (and threads???)
Howdy,
Here is the issue - I would like some help on HOW to debug and fix this problem:
2 test use cases -
1)
a)User goes to Login.jsp, enters user and password
b) User submits to LoginServlet
c) login calls JNI code that connects to a powerbuilder(Yes I know this is ugly) PBNI code module (this is a .dll) that authenticates the user with the database
d) the servlet then redirects to another .jsp page
e) user then submits to LogoutServlet - also a JNI call to a powerbuilder PBNI code module
f) REPEAT STEPS a-e over a few times (inconsistent) and then the call to the JNI code hangs
2)
a) users does NOT goto Login.jsp, but rather calls LoginServlet and passes the userid and password as GET parms
b) user does NOT get redirected to a page (redirect code commented out)
c) user calls LogoutServlet
d) repeat steps a-c at will and no failure, no hanging
The only difference is that in case 1 (with JSP), there is a redirect and it afffected the JNI call by haniging inside JNI code.
In case 2 (without JSP) there is still a JNI call, but it does not hang. In addition, when it hangs and I stop Tomcat, the logs show cleanup entries that say:
Oct 19, 2004 9:17:09 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper unload
INFO: Waiting for 1 instance(s) to be deallocated
Oct 19, 2004 9:17:10 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper unload
INFO: Waiting for 1 instance(s) to be deallocated
Oct 19, 2004 9:17:11 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper unload
INFO: Waiting for 1 instance(s) to be deallocated
Is this a threading issue in Tomcat???
On would assume that the JNI code is not cleaning up after itself, but I don't believe this is the case,
and even if it was, why would I get the tomcat log cleanup entries above???
What do those cleanup entries imply about the state of Tomcat????hi ,
I met the same problem this morning, and searched the www.google.com in order to solve it, as a result, your article was shown on my screen. :)
Till now I have read some technical information and solved my problems. Maybe the solution be useful to you:
==============================
error message : (Environment : Tomcat 5, Windows 2003, Mysql5)
2006-3-29 11:53:48 org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper unload
message: Waiting for 2 instance(s) to be deallocated
==============================
cause: the number of connection to database exceeded.another word,too many connections.
==============================
solution: close the connection when it becomes useless for your program. :)

Web Service Security is not working when migrating application from Tomcat
Hi,
We have a application running successfully in tomcat6 It calls a Webservice call through TIBCO BW interface.
When we deployed the same WAR file in Weblogic 10.3.2, it gives me a error on Prefix[ds] not able to locate namespace URI not found error.
IN Tomcat, its a existing application uses AxilUtility to get the soap messages after signing document for bothe encyption and decryption.
Please anybody help me out, is there any other jars needs to be locate in Weblogic to run this application. Its fine with Tomcat and gives error in Weblogic10.3.2
Please help me out
Thanks in advanceHi Rajkumar,
Thanks for you reply. Please let me now if you have any ideas..thnks a lot....

HOWTO in the Tomcat 5 documentation bundle for more detailed
instructions):
* If your JDK version 1.3 or prior, download and install JSSE 1.0.2 or
later, and put the JAR files into "$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext".
* Execute:
%JAVA_HOME%\bin\keytool -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA (Windows)
$JAVA_HOME/bin/keytool -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA (Unix)
with a password value of "changeit" for both the certificate and
the keystore itself.
By default, DNS lookups are enabled when a web application calls
request.getRemoteHost(). This can have an adverse impact on
performance, so you can disable it by setting the
"enableLookups" attribute to "false". When DNS lookups are disabled,
request.getRemoteHost() will return the String version of the
IP address of the remote client.

<!-- Defines a cluster for this node,
By defining this element, means that every manager will be changed.
So when running a cluster, only make sure that you have webapps in there
that need to be clustered and remove the other ones.
A cluster has the following parameters:
className = the fully qualified name of the cluster class
name = a descriptive name for your cluster, can be anything
mcastAddr = the multicast address, has to be the same for all the nodes
mcastPort = the multicast port, has to be the same for all the nodes
mcastBindAddr = bind the multicast socket to a specific address
mcastTTL = the multicast TTL if you want to limit your broadcast
mcastSoTimeout = the multicast readtimeout
mcastFrequency = the number of milliseconds in between sending a "I'm alive" heartbeat
mcastDropTime = the number a milliseconds before a node is considered "dead" if no heartbeat is received
tcpThreadCount = the number of threads to handle incoming replication requests, optimal would be the same amount of threads as nodes
tcpListenAddress = the listen address (bind address) for TCP cluster request on this host,
in case of multiple ethernet cards.
auto means that address becomes
InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostAddress()
tcpListenPort = the tcp listen port
tcpSelectorTimeout = the timeout (ms) for the Selector.select() method in case the OS
has a wakup bug in java.nio. Set to 0 for no timeout
printToScreen = true means that managers will also print to std.out
expireSessionsOnShutdown = true means that
useDirtyFlag = true means that we only replicate a session after setAttribute,removeAttribute has been called.
false means to replicate the session after each request.
false means that replication would work for the following piece of code: (only for SimpleTcpReplicationManager)
<%
HashMap map = (HashMap)session.getAttribute("map");
map.put("key","value");
%>
replicationMode = can be either 'pooled', 'synchronous' or 'asynchronous'.
* Pooled means that the replication happens using several sockets in a synchronous way. Ie, the data gets replicated, then the request return. This is the same as the 'synchronous' setting except it uses a pool of sockets, hence it is multithreaded. This is the fastest and safest configuration. To use this, also increase the nr of tcp threads that you have dealing with replication.
* Synchronous means that the thread that executes the request, is also the
thread the replicates the data to the other nodes, and will not return until all
nodes have received the information.
* Asynchronous means that there is a specific 'sender' thread for each cluster node,
so the request thread will queue the replication request into a "smart" queue,
and then return to the client.
The "smart" queue is a queue where when a session is added to the queue, and the same session
already exists in the queue from a previous request, that session will be replaced
in the queue instead of replicating two requests. This almost never happens, unless there is a
large network delay.
-->
<!--
When configuring for clustering, you also add in a valve to catch all the requests
coming in, at the end of the request, the session may or may not be replicated.
A session is replicated if and only if all the conditions are met:
1. useDirtyFlag is true or setAttribute or removeAttribute has been called AND
2. a session exists (has been created)
3. the request is not trapped by the "filter" attribute
The filter attribute is to filter out requests that could not modify the session,
hence we don't replicate the session after the end of this request.
The filter is negative, ie, anything you put in the filter, you mean to filter out,
ie, no replication will be done on requests that match one of the filters.
The filter attribute is delimited by ;, so you can't escape out ; even if you wanted to.
filter=".*\.gif;.*\.js;" means that we will not replicate the session after requests with the URI
ending with .gif and .js are intercepted.
The deployer element can be used to deploy apps cluster wide.
Currently the deployment only deploys/undeploys to working members in the cluster
so no WARs are copied upons startup of a broken node.
The deployer watches a directory (watchDir) for WAR files when watchEnabled="true"
When a new war file is added the war gets deployed to the local instance,
and then deployed to the other instances in the cluster.
When a war file is deleted from the watchDir the war is undeployed locally
and cluster wide

MauricioHi, Rick
Thanks for your help.
I deleted de application-client.xml file, added the following lines to the web.xml file:
<ejb-ref>
<ejb-ref-name>ejb/SessionEJB</ejb-ref-name>
<ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
<remote>ar.com.eds.ejb3.model.SessionEJB</remote>
</ejb-ref>
and now I´m using oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
there is no error, and it doesn´t throw any exception but the following line returns null.
SessionEJB sessionEJB = (SessionEJB)context.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/SessionEJB");
Its seems the lookup method finds the remote ejb because it doesn´t fail, but it returns null.
Any idea what is wrong?

Problem when rendering a report in BI Publisher deployed on Apache Tomcat
Hello for all.
First, I am going to tell you technical specifications about the software where I have deployed BI Publisher:
1. OS: Windows XP SP3
2. JDK and JRE: 1.6.0_24
3. Apache Tomcat: 5.5.33 (Set JVM Max Memory in 768MB)
4. BI Publisher EE: 10.1.3.4.1
I have deployed BI Publisher on Apache Tomcat without any problem, I uploaded Report files (both XDO and RTF), and I can see the reports in XML output format, but when I try to see the reports rendered by using the rtf file I have configured, BI Publisher shows me an Error; I checked the Apache Tomcat log and the following error is reported:

I checked that the url http://localhost:8080/xmlpserver/SubTemplates/sub-template-parameters.rtf would be accesible via Internet Explorer, and It is accesible.
I am glad if you can tell me what could be the cause of the error.
Thanks.Finally, I stop working in the implementation of BIP over Apache Tomcat; I installed OC4J 10.1.3.5.0 (standalone installation) and I deployed BIP on it.
It seems the error I wrote in last post has been fixed, but actually I am obtaining the following error with the deployment on OC4J:
