Apache and Firefox2 on Netware65 SP6

Hi
someone must know the answer to this, i have just built a very basic
site with sharepoint designer and have copied it to the
sys:apache2\htdocs folder and in IE it works fine, when i try to access
the site with firefox i just get
at the top left hand corner of the page, if i copy the contents of the
htdocs folder to an IIS server it works fine on both IE and firefox 2,
so its something to do with apache and firefox.
Anyone got any ideas ?
Cheers in advance

Well. Tell your users to use Opera :) Works perfecty there, but. If I
go to your site it asks for a lis_systems_header.htm and that page
contains garbage. See below. Before the doctype tag, you have
\357\273\277. Ie the page is not valid HTML.

  • Apache 1.3.12 and Weblogic 5.1 SP6 Performance downgrade

    Hi,
    We are developing a transaction site currently using Weblogic 5.1 SP6 as app server
    and Apache server 1.3.12 as the web server.
    When we hit directly to the weblogic server, bypassing the apache server, the
    JSP pages are displayed instantly (max 1-2 sec) but when we route our requests
    through Apache server, the response time increases several times (above 15 seconds).
    We are testing our application on
    * UltraSPARC-IIi 440 MHZ dual processor machine
    * 1G RAM
    * running Solaris 2.6 and
    our database server is
    * UltraSPARC-II 400 MHz * 4 box
    * with 2G RAM
    * running solaris 2.6
    * running Oracle 8i
    Please help us in identifying the bottleneck, specially for the response from
    the weblogic server to the user. The request almost instantaneously reaches the
    weblogic server from apache server.
    We have installed the apache-weblogic plug-in as specifed in the documentation
    at http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/admindocs/apache_bridge.html

    When you reverted back to SP6, did you also revert back the mod_wl??.so
    files in apache's /libexec directory?
    What did you specify as your WebLogicHost in apache's conf file? If you
    are using hostname or a FQDN, try changing that to an IP address or even
    127.0.0.1 since I presume what WebLogic is listening on 127.0.0.1 anyway.
    My thoughts are, if you are using a non-localhost hostname, it might be
    latency with DNS.
    Turn DEBUG on so that you can see what the plug-in is getting. Also try
    sniffing at what your server is doing in between when apache received
    the request up to that Weblogic receives it.

    Tried sp8 also but posix performance pack is not activated in sp8 and there are
    some other issues like Socket Exceptions whenever the browser window is closed
    etc. So, had to revert back to SP6.
    Can this be an issue of Apache on Solaris with WLS 5.1 (running in the same box)?

    Otherwise, you can try turning on debugging for the plug-in, as stated
    on the doc ... or try SP8.
    I am running a development / test server of WLS 5.1 SP6 on Linux, with
    Apache and the plug-in, and it seems to be just as fast as accessing
    WLS
    directly.

  • Apache and Weblogic authentication

    Apache 2.0 and WL 8.1 SP6;
    Apache redirects to a wl web app and the web app's front page is password protected using Apache's authentication services.
    Turns out, the users configured with Apache's 'htpasswd' have to be duplicated in weblogic. Curious to know why this is. There appears to be no documentation of this necessity that I could find.
    Any ideas about the configuration principles involved here?
    Thanks,
    Karoly

    Hi Scott,
    The only way it can work is when Apache adds another token to the request
    say
    MyToken : value
    U can create a Custom Identity Asserter to read that token and authenticate the user.
    U can find the steps to create custom identity asserter here
    http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/03/15/custom-identity-asserter-for-weblogic-server/

  • How to configure apache and weblogic in windows 2000

    i am novice,
    i want to configure apache and weblogic in windows 2000
    weblogic version is 6.1
    apache version is 2.0
    how to do?

    George,
    I would take the following 'first steps'
    1)Install Apache20 on your Windows machine following the Apache online documentation
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/misc/tutorials.html
    2)Make sure you can 'serve up' static HTML content from your Apache Server
    3)Install Weblogic Server per our online documentation
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/install/index.html
    4)Also, make sure you can 'serve up' both static and dynamic (e.g., JSP) content
    directly from WLS server
    5)Once you have both of the above 'sanity' checks attempt to configure a simple
    proxy by ppath or mime type via our online documentation

  • Need Urgent Help with Apache and PHP

    I have been struggling with apache and php for a week now and I finally broke down to post a message.
    I have apache 1.3 running on my mac mini g4 with 10.4.9 and I installed sql. I went to the entropy website and downloaded php5 to install without knowing I already had php4 on the machine. I installed 5 but could not get it to work. I then went back to httpd.conf and tried to install php4 by uncommenting out the loadmodule and addmodule lines. I restarted apache but php still did not work. I tested the phpinfo.php script but all I got was the script in Safari and not the actual page. At the moment, I have php4 and php5 on my machine but can't get either one to work. I am sure there is an easy fix but I don't know it. Please help.

    The problem is not terribly complicated, but Apache will not start with the entropy file in the folder
    /etc/httpd/users/
    Let me experiment on you. Rename the entropy file and then try to start Apache. To do this, open Terminal and paste this command:
    <pre>sudo mv /etc/httpd/users/+entropy.conf /etc/httpd/users/+entropy<pre>
    Now check the Apache configuration:
    <pre>apachectl configtest<pre>
    If it says "Syntax OK", start Apache:
    <pre>sudo apachectl start<pre>
    Since we only disabled the entropy file, you should be able to enable PHP5 with some more advanced configuring.

  • Enterprise portal access using reverse proxy using Apache and webdispatcher

    Hi Guys,
    As requirement, we need to give solution to customer about Reverse proxy scenario. I am new to this part.
    What we have think of to use Apache and Web dispatcher.
    I tried to search documents and found some sdn links also but still i am not comfortable to go about.
    Need suggestion and document if anyone has used so far.reverse proxy.
    As basis person, we need to do all ( Apache installation, Apache configuration, Web dispatcher installation and configuration, integration with EP.)
    It will helpful to me if i can get Apache installation, Apache configuration part and integration with EP, or web dispatcher, configuration etc.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    We used Netscaler for Reverse Proxy implementation and can assure you that network team performed most of the set ups. This was on EP 7.01.
    From BASIS stand point it would be primarily Web Dispatcher Configuration.
    Also refer the links I specified in another thread. There are several scenarios discussed there -

    Servlet test works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/servlets/Hello
    Example Apache JServ Servlet
    Congratulations, ApacheJServ 1.1 is working!
    OAM works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/servlets/weboam/oam/oamLogin - Navigating to SSO page for authentication

    Connection test works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/servlets/oracle.apps.icx.common.ConnectionTest
    So, my question is why AppsLogin and AppsLocalLogin are not working - if servlets / AOL / FND / OAM links are working
    Is there issue with Jserv ?
    Can someone please explain the significance of the above tests
    And which tests need to pass for AppsLogin and AppsLocalLogin to work
    Thanks

    Since all the tests work fine as you stated above, I suggest you do the following:
    - Rerun Autoconfig on all tiers
    - rm -rf $OA_HTML/_pages
    - Bounce Apache

  • Apache and PHP not working together

    Hey all,
    Ok, I reinstalled my server yesterday and followed the LAMP wiki to set up Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Now, I got Apache and MySql working great, but when I go to directory that has a .php file to open, my brower is asking me what application I want to open with the file.
    I have set up this to handle the docuemtns:
    DirectoryIndex index.php index.phtml index.html
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
    AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
    and still no go.
    Anyone got this to work?
    Thanks!!!

    Yeah, I checked and the path is correct...
    Maybe I should just reinstall it?
    Thanks!!!

  • Problems with Apache and custom JSPs

    Hi
    We've made an application on top of IFS, using JWS in our test envirnment. Just before making some stress tests, I'd like to try it using Apache. We're currently having two problems:
    1) I switch to the apache configuration running ifsconfig and not selecting JWS. When I try to access the ifs using http://host/ifs/files, everything goes well except that the "logout" icon doesn't appear. I did a little research and found out that the link goes to /ifs/webui/images/logout.gif. This gives an error in mod_jserv.log, like this one:
    [07/06/2001 22:54:20:315] (ERROR) ajp12: Servlet Error: ClassNotFoundException: webui
    It seems it's trying to find a "webui" class, since in ifs.properties every url that begins with /ifs goes to jserv.
    I don't know if this is a know problem or what should I've check...
    2) This one is more important. We're using some custom JSPs, which we use to edit the properties of some types of documents. Basically, when the user clicks over a file one of our JSP appears. These JSPs call a bean to do some processing, passing the HttpRequest as a parameter. The problem is that when using JWS we get the "path" request variable like in path=/%3A29464
    However, when using Apache we get path=/ifs/files/%3A29464 ( and afterwards we get an exception because the ifsSession.getPublicObject method doesn't work).
    Any hints on this? One way could be to check if the path begins with /ifs/files, but that's not really nice.. and besides I could have the same problem in some other parts.
    It's kind of urgent....
    Thanks
    Ramiro

    Hi,
    The answer to your path problem is that you can make use of API to find out the current path so that it works both with Apache and with JWS. Follow the steps
    1. import the oracle.ifs.adk.http package in your custom jsps
    <%@ page import = "oracle.ifs.adk.http.*" %>
    2. Then within your jsp use the method
    getIfsPathFromJSPRedirect
    <%= oracle.ifs.adk.http.HttpUtils.getIfsPathFromJSPRedirect(request) %>
    This will give you the current path of the object on which you clicked on and which initiates the custom jsp.
    You can look at the CMS application which has made use of this API. URL is
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/ifs/sample_code_index.htm
    Choose, sample applicatin -> Content Management system.
    Hope this helps

  • Client variables not working in Apache and CF8

    I have Apache and CF8 set up with multiple virtual hosts
    locally for development(win xp pro, apache 2.2.4)
    Client variables are not working. I can log into CF
    administrator fine(not sure if authentication uses client variables
    or not). Any site that I work on that uses client variables behaves
    as if the variable is not defined after setting it then going to
    another page that checks for its existence. I have verified that
    client variables are set up in cf administrator.
    Thanks for any help

    Thanks a lot. I understood the mistake. Pls do not spend time on this.
    Thanks,

  • Why do we need the combination of Apache and Tomcatt?

    Both Apache and Tomcatt are web servers. It is possible to get the ob done with any of them. Then, why do we go for the combination of Apache and Tomcatt in most of the Applictions? What is the significance of doing it?

    The Apache Web Server is a high-performance HTTP server, which is very good in serving static content (i.e., HTML pages, JPG files, etc.).
    Apache Tomcat is a servlet container written in Java. It includes an HTTP server, but it isn't optimized as much as the Apache Web Server and probably doesn't have as many configuration options as the Apache Web Server.
    Often people use Apache Web Server as the primary HTTP server, and run Tomcat on top of that. You can configure Apache so that it redirects requests for servlets and JSPs to Tomcat. Apache Web Server cannot run servlets and JSPs by itself.

  • Apache and weblogic server

    hi all.
    i am using oracle application server 10g R2 over windows server 2003 64bit
    but now i planned to go for apache and weblogic server for this i do not have idea that
    should i do? plz what softwares are required to use apache and weblogic server with current version
    10g R2.?

    The WebLogic Server (WLS) is a Java container similar to OC4J in Application Server 10g release 2. If you want to use WLS, you will have to upgrade your Application Server 10g installation to Fusion Middleware 11g. The upgrade path typically depends on the products which you are using in 10g, e.g. the upgrade path for SOA is different than the upgrade path for Forms/Reports or Oracle Portal. The [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/upgrade.1111/e10125/before_you_begin.htm]Upgrade Planning Guide is a good start.

  • Howto - Using apache and mod_php4

    This is a quick tutorial on how to use the apache web server with the php module.  I am by no means an expert, so if you have any questions/suggestion, please feel free.  That being said, let's get started:
    1.  Install apache and php:
    [root@limbo root]# pacman -Sy apache
    [root@limbo root]# pacman -Sy php
    2.  First, ensure that you have the apache web server running properly, and can serve up simple HTML documents:
    [root@limbo phpbb]# /etc/rc.d/httpd start
    [ Starting HTTP Daemon DONE ]
    Now, point your browser to http://localhost/ and you should see a default Arch web server page.  If not, you must get this working before continuing.
    3.  Now, if the apache web server is working, let's shut it down and work on adding PHP functionality:
    [root@limbo root]# /etc/rc.d/httpd stop
    [ Stopping HTTP Daemon DONE ]
    4.  We must now make changes to the apache config file:
    [root@limbo root]# nano /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
    5.  We must load the PHP module.  Find the LoadModule portion of httpd.conf and add:
    LoadModule php4_module lib/apache/libphp4.so
    and then find the AddModule section and add:
    AddModule mod_php4.c
    6.  To let apache know that files ending in .php are in fact PHP files, we add the following.  It doesn't matter where you put it, but you can search for AddType and pick a plac e you think fits.
    # Added by root for mod_php
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
    AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
    7.  And to ensure that .php files are looked at first by apache when looking at directory contents, find the section that looks like what you see below, but notice that I have added index.php for php index files:
    # DirectoryIndex: Name of the file or files to use as a pre-written HTML
    # directory index. Separate multiple entries with spaces.
    <IfModule mod_dir.c>
    DirectoryIndex index.php index.html
    </IfModule>
    8.  Now, change the root apache directory by finding the line containing DocumentRoot and change it to the following (we will create the directory shortly, and place an index.php in there also):
    DocumentRoot "/home/httpd/html/phptest"
    9.  For the final config step, we must tell the Arch init script to load the php module when it starts apache.  All we have to do is edit /etc/conf.d/httpd and add the APACHE_OPTS line:
    HTTPD_USE_SSL="no"
    APACHE_OPTS="-D PHP4"
    10.  Now, create the directory /home/httpd/html/phptest
    11.  Create a plain text file using your favorite text editor.  The file is  /home/httpd/html/phptest/index.php
    The contents of this file should be the following:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>PHP Test</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <? phpinfo(); ?>
    </body>
    </html>
    12.  Once running the apache web server, you will notice that Arch sets it up to run as user "nobody".  Therefore, we want "nobody" to own all the files that we are going to use:
    [root@limbo root]# chown -R nobody.nobody /home/httpd/html/*
    [root@limbo root]# chmod -R 744 /home/httpd/html/*
    13.  Finally, start the apache web server again, and point your browser to your http://localhost/   You should now see alot of info, provided dynamically by the PHP module.
    I hope this quick tutorial is useful.  It you see anything wrong with it, or have suggestions, please let me know and I will edit this post.
