Apache htdocs? Where do I load my testing server files?
I am trying to use my mac as a testing server.
I am using Apache, PHP, MySql.
Where do I store my testing server files?
I does not work in my local user file.
Example; http://123.10.10.10/~myname/Sites
I tried using my Sites folder but php will not work. I was told to use my Apache htdocs folder by the php folks. Spotlight shows there is no htdocs file.
So do I have to go into the Apache folder and create a new folder called htdocs? Or am I missing something?
Help!
Thanks

Login settings will not update local testing server files
When uploading to web server from local testing server, changing login settings in the control panel does not update the local testing server files. Causing login on website not to function.
It does however update the Connections file and login wizard form.
What is the best way to change login settings before uploading site to web server?

Browsers won't open some php testing server files
Running DW 8, OS 10.4.10, Apache virtual testing server with
php local site.
I've Firefox and Safari as primary and secondary browsers.
When working on a
page, if I select 'preview in primary browser', Firefox opens
the page with
my virtual url...no problem. Lately, some php files will not
open. Firefos
give a dialog to open the file in default (DW) or save to
disk. This is very
frustrating since one file it does this to is a login page.
Safari does the
same thing!
I have select the file in question in the finder (extension:
,php) and
through the Get Info and told Mac OS to open this file with
Firefox and all
.php extensions. Rebuilt prebinding so all php files in the
Finder show a
Firefox icon, but still neither Firefox nor Safari will open
them. They
don't recognize the
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
charset=ISO-8859-1" />
Metatag. The really frustrating thing is that only some files
behave this
way. Most of the others work fine and I can't see anything in
the headers
that would cause one to open and not another. Has anyone ever
run across the
behavior before and if so, what was the cause?
Thanks,

True, I'm running Apache 1.3, but I'm leery of trying to
upgrade to a newer
version for fear of messing up everything that already works.
Had a real
headache getting MySQL 5, PHP 5 and phpMyAdmin all up and
running with DW 8.
Fortunately I had David Powers book that gave pretty much
idiot proof
instructions on how to install all this stuff. I'd never been
able to do it
left to my own devices. Another caveat is that my webhost,
like most, is
behind the upgrade curve: they run MySQL 4.1 and phpMyAdmin
2,8 so if I
upgrade too much there may be compatibility issues.
Another oddity, renaming that file from .php to .html
extension causes it
to open fine in Firefox and Safari. I don't think it's kosher
to keep it
that way since it does contain DW8's login php scripts.
Again, there's no
problem with other .php files. -
WTF? DW Deleted My Testing Server Files!
Just completed a website redesign for my client. He loved it and asked me to recommend a method for moving the site live. Here is what I recommended:
Assign the site that I developed (hosted on my personal website) as a Testing Server.
1. Synchronize with the Testing Server by going Synchronize --> Entire Site -->Get Newer Files from Remote --> Delete Local Files not on Server
2. Then synchronize with the Remote Server by going Synchronize --> Entire SIte --> Put Newer Files to Remore -->Delete Remote Files not on Local Site
Well, I never even got to step 2! For some reason, a slew of files and directories on the Testing server got deleted.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? That the remote files were deleted with the local files should have been? Is method I recommended not an acceptable practice for a website redesign? What methods are more acceptable?
Most importantly, though, I really need someone to explain what the heck happened to these files? Why did Dreamweaver screw up my work so thoroughly? When I get a call in the middle of the night from another client saying that Dreamweaver is mysteriously deleting his website, what can I tell him?Because my files were not on his local site--they were on my personal website, set up as a subdomain. I was not allowed access to his host. This was the method I recommended for moving my files to his local site. We did not even get to the point where we could synchronize to his remote site because Dreamweaver deleted all my files first.

Hi all,
I am accessing the SAP-XI test server(Web Server

Adaptor to place the Source XML file?
regards,
Khaja.skHi Khaja,
If you are placing ur file in the server itself then u can mention the file path as given below:
D:/usr/sap/trans/tmp/sender
Here the D: indicates the drive where ur server is installed.
Within the given path sender is a folder created to hold the input file.

Automatically updating files on local testing Server
I'm using EasyPHP-5.3.5.0 as a testing server on my local machine (I've use EasyPHP for several years). I set up the Site Definition in DW8 using the testing server root folder (www) as the development area; however, this caused problems when I attempted to upload from within DW to the Remote (production) server. I then modified the Site Definition to use a local folder. other then the Testing Server folder, for development which solved the upload problem. Then in the Site Definition I setup the Testing Server using the "PHP MySQL" model with "Local/Network" access. The Testing Server folder was set to "C:\Program Files\EasyPHP-5.3.5.0\" and the "Refresh Testing file list automatically" box was checked. The URL prefex was set to "http://127.0.0.1:8888/" as defined in the EasyPHP instructions. My problem is that Dreamweaver is not updating the files on the testing server when I save a file in the development folder. The development folder and the Testing Server reside on the same computer. If I copy and paste a file to the testing server everything works fine. I would like the testing server files to be automatically updated when I save a file in the development folder which is what the Site Definition seems to indicate should happen. Any thoughts on what the problem is and how to fix it would be appreciated.

Oh - I see. I think this will be hard to do. You'd need to
get a local
certificate and all - not sure how to go about that....

Local Testing server and htdocs
So I have set up apache/php with virtual servers and I'm
using DW8.
I may have terminology errors below. Correct me where I'm
wrong please.
Example site directory C:/apache/htdocs/site.com/
The web directory is: C:/apache/htdocs/site.com/htdocs
however there are other important files hiden below this
rebroot in "site.com/application" for example
My work diretory is C:/somewhere else/site.com. While
developing, I just set the testing server as my webserver and
posted everything to preview, but know I want to include the
production server, and try to use my local testing setup correctly.
I use DW to ftp and edit the site files, including those
below the webroot, so is set my directories to allow access to
those files. My annoyance is that when I preview my site it tries
to pull up the homepage as www.site.dev/htdocs/index.php
(I use dev to distinguish the local testing server)
Can I resolve this problem, or can someone explain how to
effecttively manage your workdirectory, testingserver and
production server from one DW site? At the moment I'm using two DW
sites to manage for now.Thank you for your answers.

First, this is very possible depending on your theme. Some of the dyanmic effects in themes use javascript files from the JQuery library as well as other javascript libraries. Because of this it may not be possible to edit all files.
How do you think I could check this is true ? I think I need all the files if I wish to edit the theme. Would copying all the remote files locally help clearing this in any way ?

This sounds like a path issue in the code. I would check there to make sure the path is correct. Otherwise we would need to see the code.
I don't know how to check this. When inspecting the page with Live Code, I don't know which html file Dw is showing me on the left. No filename has that grey background like it's pushed... Plus, I don't understand why the path would have changed, since I didn't mess with the code (yet) ?
SnakEyez02 wrote:
I have found this to appear when you have friendly/pretty-URLs or mod-rewrite turned on. In the WordPress web admin, go to Settings->Permalinks and choose the default with the ?p=123 setting. DW is currently unable to process the rewriting of URLs and it will only recognize the un-SEO-friendly way of reading URLs.
Ok now I don't understand. When I go to http://localhost/mysite/wp-admin, it shows me the WP logo,
No Upgrade Required
Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!
And a big "continue" button, all of which on the original site (the url is http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F). Pressing the button gets me to http://www.mysite.com/.
Is that because I imported the database from the live site ? I don't know what I did to get that, I used to get to the local WP installation. Could that be a bad database setup ?
Any idea ?
Again, thank you a lot for helping me out here ! -
Is there any drag & drop website builder where you can load a template ?
Is there any drag & drop website builder where you can load a template ?
I have a themeforest template which is great in html which I like to adjust, but I need a drag & drop website builder that automatically changes the codes and scripts as I can't program....
I tested some like Bluevoda & wysiwyg webbuilders, but there you can only load their files (.bvd ,...) extensions, not a full site or index.htmlMuse is drag & drop but I'm not sure how well it would work with Themeforest templates. Muse could very well make a mess of it.
You might want to ask about this in the Muse discussion forum.

Probably a mistake in your dads.conf file.
( Also check the APEX_PUBLIC_USER in the dads.conf file )
Kind regards,

We are on 10.2.0.3, and created a separate (dedicated) ORACLE_HOME for the App Exp 3.0.1 installation.
We used the OUI to install the Companion version of Apache (HTTP server 1.3) on our IBM AIX5L machine 9119-595 (64 bit) and we set all appropriate conf files (dads.conf, httpd.conf, don't have a 'marvel' file) to port 3232. Successfully ran the command "EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(3232);" in the App Exp repository DB. We restarted Apache (HTTP server).
The Oracle Apache HTTP web page successfully displays at http://bbbbb.oooo.com:3232/ .
When trying to start the App Exp Aministrator at "http://bbbbb.oooo.com:3232/dsl/apex/apex_admin" we get "The page cannot be found" (HTTP 404 - File not found, Internet Explorer).

HOW to load a test limit set file to lv
the test limit setting file maybe as following"
Stepname Measured value HiLimit lOWLIMIT
F1DC 2 0 5
F2Frequency 5 6 12
How can i first load in the limit file and then run the LV test using this limit? I heard that it can be realized by Access tool set of LV, Can some attach a simply example for it ? Thanks! What kind of file is the information stored in? If it's a text file with some sort of delimiter, you can use Read From Spreadsheet File. If it's in an Access database, then yes, you can use the Database Connectivity Toolkit Toolkit to run queries on the database. I don't have any examples. What I use for database queries is Jeffrey Travis' LabSQL. The toolkit and LabSQL are both based on ADO. The toolkit makes queries very easy to create. LabSQL requires some knowledge of the SQL database language.

Connecting apache as a testing server
For a long time I have been building static sites on
dreamweaver 8. Now I want to use apache as a testing server. I have
been advised to use WAMP as a single package for mysql, php5 and
apache.
However when I have re-set the site manager to include the
local server, will it mean i cannot use dreamweaver as an FTP to my
remote server? will it mean i test all the pages on the local
server and then at the end of the day- reset dreamweavers site
manager to point to the remote server (or conversely use a seperate
ftp)?
Does this make sense?
thanks for your help
boo27Dooza wrote:

I think they do. The main consideration is how invasive they
are.
Anything that alters Windows system folders or the registry
should be
treated with caution. AFAIK, XAMPP doesn't mess with either.
I don't
know about Wamp.
When I first started using PHP, there was a very popular
all-in-one
installer called Firepages. It worked very well, but it was
created by
just one guy. When he was no longer able to maintain it, a
lot of people
found it left behind things in the system folders that made
it more
difficult to install the standard versions. To be fair to the
developer,
he did provide a batch file that uninstalled things properly,
but a lot
of people were unaware of its existence.

Hiya
We have been doing Load Performance Testing using testing tool QALoad on our Forms 10g application. After about 56 virtual users(sessions) have logged-in into our application, if a new user tries to log-in into our application, the Forms crashes. As soon as we encounter the FRM-92101 error, no more new forms session are able to start.
The Load Testing software start up each process very quickly, about every 10 seconds.
The very first form that appears is the login form of our application. So before the login screen appears, we get FRM-92101 error message.
However, those users who have already logged-in into our application, they are able to carry on their tasks.
We are using Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2. I have checked the status on Application Server through Oracle Enterprise Manager Console. The OC4J Instance is up and running. Also, server's configuration is pretty good. It is running on 2 CPUs (AMD Opteron 3GHz) and has 32GB of memory. The memory used by those 56 sessions is less than 3GB.
The Applicatin Server is running on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64bit Enterprise Edition.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers
MayurHi Shekhawat
In Windows Registry go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems
In the right hand side panel, you will find String Value as Windows. Now double click on it (Windows). In the pop up window you will see a string similar to the following one:
%SystemRoot%\system32\csrss.exe ObjectDirectory=\Windows SharedSection=1024,20480,768 Windows=On SubSystemType=Windows ServerDll=basesrv,1 ServerDll=winsrv:UserServerDllInitialization,3 ServerDll=winsrv:ConServerDllInitialization,2 ProfileControl=Off MaxRequestThreads=16
Now if you read it carefully in the above string, you will find this parameter
SharedSection=1024,20480,768
Here SharedSection specifies the system and desktop heaps using the following format:
SharedSection=xxxx,yyyy,zzzz
The default values are 1024,3072,512
All the values are in Kilobytes (KB)
xxxx = System-wide Heapsize. There is no need to modify this value.
yyyy = IO Desktop Heapsize. This is the heap for memory objects in the IO Desktop.
zzzz = Non-IO Desktop Heapsize. This is the heap for memory objects in the Non-IO Desktop.
On our server the values were as follows :
1024,20480,768
We changed the size of Non-IO desktop heapsize from 768 to 5112. With 5112 KB we managed to test our application for upto 495 virtual users.
