  • WCS 6.0.181.0 - Apache not starting

    Hi Guys,
    I've got a problem over here.
    We are running WCS 6.0.181.0 and apache fails to start.
    The only error found in the wcs-0-0.log is the following:
    10/05/10 18:25:51.364 INFO[general] [10] Starting Apache server ...
    10/05/10 18:25:51.599 ERROR[general] [11] [Tue Oct 05 18:25:51 2010] [notice] Disabled use of AcceptEx() WinSock2 API

    10/05/10 18:26:06.240 ERROR[general] [10] Failed to start the Apache web server.
    Does any of you guys have an idea what it could be?
    I've deinstalled the virus scanner completely. Just to test if that is the problem but without any result.

    It seems that the port used by the apache service may be blocked by another application and that could be the reason... try opening the port or make sure this port is not used by anyother application..
    >> U can even try restarting the server by stopping all services and then try... also. make sure all the below ports are allowed..
    Database         1315
    FTP     21
    HTTP Connector  8456
    HTTP Connector Redirect         8457

  • Apache not starting after installing Lion

    After installing Lion, my Apache local service doesn't start anymore.
    in System Preferences > Sharing, the Web Sharing is not checked anymore.
    If I (try to) check it, it try for half a second, and then is unchecked again.
    No error message. I also reinstalled the last Xcode package, rebooted, nothing.
    What to do? Thank you!

    Commenting out that line simply disables mod_fastcgi (which might caus performance problems under a load).
    In case you really need the mod_fastcgi to speed up apache2 you can easily compile and install it given you have the xcode development env installed.
    (i've chosen the latest version which is a snap but still roughly 2 years old.)
    cd /tmp
    curl -O -L http://www.fastcgi.com/dist/mod_fastcgi-SNAP-0910052141.tar.gz
    tar zxf mod_fastcgi-SNAP-0910052141.tar.gz
    cd mod_fastcgi-SNAP-0910052141.tar.gz
    cp Makefile.AP2 Makefile
    make topdir=/usr/share/httpd
    sudo make install
    this will install the apache mod_fastcgi.so into apples apache2 install and you should be able to continue with a fastcgi setup.
    So far this has worked for me w/o any problem.
    cheers

  • Apache will not start if ssl is enabled

    Hello,
    I recently upgraded from LMS 3.1 to LMS 3.2.  One of our end users pointed out that I forgot to enable https in the Common Services -> Server -> Security area.
    I re-enabled https and now the 'Ciscoworks Web Server' will not start up.
    If I disable https using ConfigSSL.pl from <NMS root>/MDC/Apache/bin then Ciscoworks comes up fine again.
    The log file in <NMS root>/MDC/Apache/logs/error.log shows the message:
    Failed to configure CA certificate chain!
    I have deleted and regenerated the self-signed certificate several times and this pattern repeats.
    I am running LMS on Windows Server 2003 R2.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Joe,
    As requested, here are the files.
    I was able to force Apache to start using the Service control panel.
    However, when I spawned a browser the error message is:
    Forbidden
    You don't have permission to access /cwhp/LiaisonServlet on this server.
    Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Don't know what this means either.  Again, if I turn https off, everything comes up fine.
    Thanks.
    Bob

  • Apache will not start with fastcgi

    We use an acgi called LiveIQue for our website. This plugin requires FastCGI to render the pages. Works fine with 10.3. We've just purchased and installed a new Intel Xserve with 10.4.8, and every I install the FastCGI module, apache will not start. If I comment out the FastCGI, apache starts.
    Anyone else having this problem.?

    I just configured and tested mod_fastcgi and can say it works with apache 1.3.33
    I understand it can also built for apache 2 however I haven't done this yet and I may eventually get to it.
    As well, looking into fastcgi I decided to try and build php as a fastcgi application and install it with lighttpd (with all the bells and whistles) and this also works rather well, speedy for what it does.

  • Apache will not start

    Hi All,
    Just upgrade to 10.4 Server...
    Server Admin will not start Apache. I receive an error to check the error log. I tried starting apache in the terminal, and it looked like it was loading the sites that we host - but no error, just a message. The last two lines are:
    Processing config file: /etc/httpd/sites/virtualhostglobal.conf
    /usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started
    When I check Server Admin and look at the error log I receive this:
    [Sat Apr 8 01:18:27 2006] [error] mod_ssl: Init: Pass phrase incorrect (OpenSSL library error follows)
    [Sat Apr 8 01:18:27 2006] [error] OpenSSL: error:0D094068:asn1 encoding routines:d2iASN1SET:bad tag

    [Sat Apr 8 01:18:27 2006] [error] OpenSSL: error:0D09A00D:asn1 encoding routines:d2i_PrivateKey:ASN1 lib
    Everything worked fine before the upgrade. Anyone have any insight?
    TIA - Vijay

    Have you tried resetting the certificate(s) password(s) in Server Admin, if any require them? All your errors are SSL-related. Is it possible that in the upgrade the passphrase for your certificate got garbled?
    Also, try reading this article and see if it doesn't help:
    http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-23083.html
    If still no luck, although this might yield nothing new, what do you get when you enter "apachectl configtest" and/or "httpd -S" on the command line?

  • Sun J2EE 1.4 Server domain could not start (org/apache/common/launcher/..)

    I am having problem with starting Sun J2EE Server 1.4. I had no problem with starting and stopping the server until today. I was not able to figure out what the problem is. I have tried reinstallation but did not work either. I also have reinstalled my J2SDK, but did not fix the problem. I am using J2SDK1.4.2_03 on Windows 2003 Server. Before the problem occured, I was working on a simple JMS applcation and trying to connect to J2EE server from a standalone JMS client at different machine. I am not sure what really caused the problem, but uninstalling it and reinstalling it does not change anything.
    Here is my error message when I do start-domain domain1 at asadmin mode:
    asadmin> start-domain domain1
    Starting Domain domain1, please wait.
    Log redirected to C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\server.log.
    abnormal subprocess termination: Detailed Message:Error: org/apache/commons/launcher/LaunchFilter
    CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.
    I have tried to start it by using startserv.bat at domain1 directory and also the desktop shortcut Start Default Domain. Nothing works. I'do apprecited it if you can share any ideas or suggestions regarding this issue.
    Thank you in advance.

    I made some changes to my enviroment variables and added jar files to the J2SDK <<J2SDK_HOME>>/jre/lib/ext folder in order to run the standalone JMS client.
    Here is my classpath settings:
    .;C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\j2ee.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-admin.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-rt.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-rt.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\appserv-ext.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imq.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imqadmin.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imqjmsra.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\lib\install\applications\jmsra\imqutil.jar;
    C:\Sun\AppServer\imq\lib\fscontext.jar;C:\J2EE\tutorial\j2eetutorial14\examples\ejb\simplemessage\SimpleMSGAppClient.jar
    I also have added appserv-rt.jar, appserv-rt.jar, appserv-ext.jar, imq.jar, imqadmin.jar, imqjmsra.jar, and imqutil.jar in the <<J2SDK_HOME>>/jre/lib/ext/ folder. I know they were redundant but just wanted to make sure. Can any of these be causing the problem?
    Again, thank you and let me know if you need any other info.

  • Apache Server Not Starting

    I am using XAMPP to setup a local host.  When I choose to Start the Apache module it starts for a few seconds ie says Running and Stop, then immediately goes back to saying Start.  All of the other ones start OK, ie MySQL, Mercury etc.
    In the box below all the options it says that Apache has started, but when I try to access it via 'localhost' I get an error saying that Explorer cannot display the page I am looking for.
    I am using Vista.
    Anybody got any ideas?

  • Apache web server not start

    Hi. I had to reload my server with 2008 server R2 for a maintenance. but now apache web server on my LMS 4.0 no start. I tried stop and restart daemon manager but nothing. apache is stoped.

    Hi ,
    Try the below steps and see how it works :
    On the command Prompt run this commad to check the Dependency of the Apache :
    C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\bin>pdreg -l Apache
             Process      = Apache
             Path         = C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\bin\Apache.exe
             Flags        = -d C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache -D SSL
             Startup      = y
             Dependencies = Tomcat
    Now Unregister the Apache with below commad :
    pdreg -u Apache
    To Registered the Apache:
    Note :You need to check the Apache.exe location  ,so anyone of the below  will work for you  :
    C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\bin>pdreg -r Apache -e "C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\bin\Apache.exe" -f "-d C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache -D SSL" -d Tomcat
    (used your NMSROOT Location )
    C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\bin>pdreg -r Apache -e "C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\Apache.exe" -f "-d C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache -D SSL" -d Tomcat
    Now re-check the Apache Registration :
    C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\bin>pdreg -l Apache
            Process      = Apache
            Path         = C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\bin\Apache.exe
            Flags        = -d C:\PROGRA~2\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache -D SSL
            Startup      = y
            Dependencies = Tomcat
    Once above is done try to Restart the Apache and check how it works !!
    Thanks--

  • Application server will not start up

    Hello,
    I have read quite a few topics concerning this problem, and have tried many things but without success.
    I am running on Windows XP Pro. The installation goes fine, but when I run a project, the application server cannot start, and I get a message after quite a long time saying that it can't start and to check my port numbers,etc.
    I used to have Sun Java Creator, but I uninstalled it. I tried deleting the \Windows\System32\productregistry file. I tried uninstalling completely and reinstalling in C:\Sun\Creator2, but the problem is still the same. I tried deleting the domain with "asadmin" and recreating it, but I still get the problem.
    I am posting all the relevant information from the logs, hopin someone will be able to help me out....

    Here's a bit more information : the output of the C:\Sun\Creator2ea2\SunAppServer8\domains\creator\logs\server.log file :
    [#|2006-01-14T15:42:08.188+0100|WARNING|sun-appserver-pe8.1_02|javax.enterprise.tools.launcher|_ThreadID=10;|LAUNCHER005:Spaces in your PATH have been detected. The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop.  Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]
