Apache Process Runner has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I found a problem in tomcat server
Apache Process Runner has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
how can i remove this problem?
Jim,
Thanks for all your help. Sure enough, an MOV file works just fine and I may have tracked down the problem: the video, I'm sure caused from the source tape, lags towards the end-it seemed like every time I scrolled towards the end of the AVI it would crash. Still seems mighty peculiar that it would crash the system each time.
Thanks,
Tim S.

AS 10gR1 vs "Apache.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" on XP
I would really appreciate if somebody has solution for Windows error message popup box
"Apache.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".
I have installed Oracle Application Server 9.0.4 Infrastructure (from 10gR1 AS) on XP laptop (I know it is unsupported)
opmnctl.exe status show "UP" status for OID,OC4J but "Down" for HTTP_Server
When I try to run
opmnctl.exe versbose startproc ias_component=HTTP_Server
I will always get "result=failure", text="failed to start a managed process after the maximum retry limit"
and Windows message popup box
"Apache.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".
(I have also 9i and 10g installed in separate Oracle homes).I have made 3rd attempt to re-install AS due "Apache.exe has encountere..and must be closed" error.
I have succeeded after doing following:
- unistall previous AS 9.0.4 (10gR1) install
- disabled McAffee and firewall
- changing NLS_LANG=AMERICA_AMERICAN.WE8ISO8859P15 prior installation
- removed path to other OH (9i and 10gR2)
- restart XP laptop
- doing install AS 9.0.4 (10gR1)
Now opmnctl.exe status shows everything works (including HTTP_Server :) -
Generic Host Process For Win32 Services Has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close - J6480
Computer: eMachines T3025 Athlon
OS: Win XP SP3 (recent clean install)
Printer: HP J6480 on wireless network
Printer prints and scans fine wirelessly. I am using the "small footprint" HP drivers to print and scan.
After some hours with printer connected to the computer wirelessly and printing or scanning, I eventually get the
'Generic Host Process For Win32 Services Has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close' error message and cannot print or scan any longer unless I shutdown and restart Windows.
I have implemented all the fixes (download, reinstall, etc.) listed for this printer on the hp.com site - namely

Adobe Audition has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I have been using Audition 2.0 on this computer for quite some time and suddenly now when I open it, I get the cryptic error dialogue:
"Adobe Audition has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. For more information about this error, click here."
When I click for more information, it's something useless like:
AppName: audition.exe AppVer: 2.0.5306.2 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 65726168
Nothing on my computer has changed. There are no viruses. I have not added any new audio plug-ins. I am completely up to date with all critical Windows XP SP3 updates and none have been downloaded and installed recently anyway.
I searched the knowledgebase and found a document that suggesting many things to try. I tried them all, including running the Windows hard disk "check disk" tool with options to fix file system errors and recover bad sectors. I also defragmented the hard drive. Lastly, I completely uninstalled Audition, then manually deleted any remaining files, including registry entries as suggested in another knowledgebase article.
I then re-installed Audition 2.0 and it did exactly the same thing! This it maddening. Now it gets even more interesting. I discovered that if I start up the
Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit that Adobe Audition installed also, then try to launch Audition from the toolkit, IT STARTS CORRECTLY! I can then close the toolkit and use it like normal. Weird work-around.
What the heck could possibly be going on? Anyone have any ideas? I've attached the error log file that is generated by the error but I doubt it will be of much help.
Thanks!
Steve in Chicagostevefoobar2: I may have found a solution for you.
I had the same thing happen to me today. I was using Audition 2 this morning without any problems. But this afternoon, it started giving me the exact same error with no apparent reason. Nothing on my system had changed.
So I uninstalled it and installed Audition 3 in its place. Audition 3 continued to have the same problem that Audition 2 had, so we can assume that this is not something that was changed between versions.
But my attention was brought to the fact that you and I are both running Windows XP SP3 fully up-to-date. So I thought I'd try seeing it from the angle of a problem with Windows instead of Audition, and see if I didn't get a better result -
First, I logged on to Windows as Administrator. This may or may not be required, but you'll probably want to do it just in case (you'll see what I mean later). At this point, Audition still crashed the same way when I opened it, so I moved on to my next troubleshooting strategy -
Instead of opening Audition directly, I right-clicked the Audition icon and selected "Run as..." This may seem odd since I was already logged in as Administrator, but it proved to be the solution in my case.
In the "Run As" diolog, there are two main options: run as current user, or run as another user.
Since I was already logged in as Administrator, I could safely select the first option (run as current user). But here's the catch: selecting the first option allowed me to UNcheck the box underneath that says "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity" (see the attached picture)
Audition opened without any problems when I did this.
This makes me think that one of the Windows security features suddenly decided to block something that Audition was trying to do, crashing the program in the process. By turning off this security feature, the problem was solved. And I only had to do it once. Every time afterwards, Audition has opened without any problems when I simply open it from my desktop. Perhaps Windows now remembers not to block Audition in the future.
However, I have not restarted my computer yet, or logged off as Administrator. You may need to tweak this solution if you plan to do either of these things. You may end up having to "Run as" Audition every time you restart your computer or log off. You may even need to select the SECOND option, and run the program as Administrator with the appropriate password.
Anyway, this was the only post I could find on Adobe.com concerning this problem, so I thought I'd post my solution in case it helped someone else. -
Blackberry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close
When I try to open Blackberry Desktop the message I get is that Blackberry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 and as a result I cannot sync. Does this mean I need to uninstall and reinstall? If I reinstall will I lose the update that I have on my phone that has changed the interface? Will I have to reinstall that as well?
Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.I suggest this thread:

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Also, for XP users, please be sure you are on SP3...that is the current minimum level required with the latest Desktop Software.
Good luck!

I get the message 'itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close' when trying to open itunes 11.1.1.11. I had to uninstall itunes so that I could load this version as the update to version 11 kept failing. The PC says 11.1.1.11 is correctly loaded, but I now cannot open itunes. Any advice on how to get itunes working again?
Hello there, ytnoj.
Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes can be a tricky endeavor and must be done in a very specific way. The following Knowledge Base article provides the step-by-step of the process:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP

ITunes has encountered a problem and needs to close... all the time!
I just bought an iPod nano (5th generation). I downloaded iTunes 9.2 for Windows XP. So far, I have only about 15 songs on the iPOD, because whenever I connect it to the computer an error occurs. It goes like this:
iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the unconvenience.

the information you were working on might be lost.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall exactly how it is described in Apple's support pages, but nothing seems to work.
I'm starting to lose my sanity. Does anyone know what to do?I'm thinking your iTunes library got currupted somehow.
Try this (assuming iTunes is shut down and not showing in Task Manager > Processes tab)
Rename this file
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\iTunes Library.itl
to ....\iTunes Library.old
Try to start iTunes, will it come up now? -
Disp+work.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close ...
Hi all
I've installed NW 7.02 ABAP trial on a VM running with XP Pro english version, SP3.
Via SICF also all services have been activated.
When calling SE80 -> Web Dynpro -> (e.g.) WDR_TEST_MISC (or any other WD apllication) -> opening: Component Interface -> double click on INTERFACECONTROLLER -> selecting: CONTEXT -> and then select the 'Properties' tab ==>> the following ERROR occurs:
=> disp+work.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close ... (seems to me to be a MicroSoft popup)
After closing this popup, another one appears, telling me: 'SAP GUI for Windows 720 - NSP: Sap Systemnachricht; Work process restarted; session terminated'.
That's the end of this session :-((
This error occurs only when I try to call the properties of the Interface context!
Regards, StefanHi Stefan,
I had this problem yesterday while using SGEN after a fresh install of NW 7.02 (64 bit).
I forgot to switch of the DB Log and it ran full (I think in earlier versions of the preview installtion MaxDB Log was set to overwrite mode by default which isn't the case with this installation). Anyway, the log ran full, disp+work died and after that it was imposible to restart the system because the dispatcher died shortly after it had started.
Maybe you check your DB with the database manager.
Good Luck

Java.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I installed Oracle8i on my P4 then when I reboot I get the error "java.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." even if I click on "don't report" if keeps popping up, anything to do to resolve this?
Thanks.Hello...
i had the same problem. then when i searched oracle documentation, it suggested as follows:
1. go to your %ORACLE_HOME%\Apache\Apache\conf\httpd.conf
2. comment out 2 lines that has
include ....\jserv.conf
include ....\oracle_apache.conf
so your new line will be:
#include ....\jserv.conf
#include ....\oracle_apache.conf
Those lines are at the end of the file.
3. save the file.
4. reboot your machine.
that solution works for me.. hope it works for you too.
GOOD LUCK!

IPodService Module has encountered a problem and needs to close
After allowing Windows XP to install Service Pack 3, I started getting the error message "iPodService Module has encountered a problem and needs to close" whenever I plugged my iPod 60 Gb into my PC. I spent months, literally, reading and asking and trying things before stumbling onto a fix that worked. I got the hint from a thread in some forum, then verified it with the software manufacturers. Apparently, Windows XP SP3 writes a bunch of garbage entries into your registry, and in the process corrupts some of the existing entries (thanks a lot, Microsoft, I mean really, thanks just too much. That service pack was soooo helpful). Included in the corrupted entries are a LOT of the ones used by Norton Antivirus 2008. This causes Norton to somehow prevent the device manager from recognizing anything (device manager window comes up blank) and apparently also causes iTunes to be unable to recognize the iPod. Here is the fix I used (a hybrid of several sets of instructions from various sources, including Symantec). I don't know if every step is crucial, I just know it worked.
1) Uninstall Norton Antivirus 2008
2) Use the registry editor (Run: regedit) to locate and delete every line beginning with the string $%&'( BE CAREFUL-don't delete or change anything else !
3) Reinstall Norton Antivirus 2008 and update it using Live Update
4) Uninstall iTunes
5) Download and install latest version of iTunes from Apple
6) Connect iPod (iTunes recognized it at this point)
7) Use iTunes to update iPod software
I read a lot of posts from a lot of frustrated people experiencing this or similar problems. I hope this helps at least some of them.Hey everyone... been watching these threads closely because, I too have this issue.
One question though... what if you don't use Norton??? I can't possibly believe that everyone with this issue uses Norton... I use AVG. When I search my registry, I get no results.
Does anyone have any input? Everything I read mentions Norton. This problem seems to have gone on forever, I can't believe it hasn't been solved eith by Apple, Microsoft or both. -
AcroTray has encountered a problem and needs to close
I get this error message "AcroTray has encountered a problem and needs to close" when booting up. Don't know what precipitated this to cause this to happen, but whatever it was it seems to be permanently lodged in my bootup process. My next step is to do a re-install of Adobe Acrobat.
Running
Acrobat Pro 8.2.2
Windows XP Pro SP2
Appreciate any words of advice. Thanks!
- DavidI would uninstall Acrobat, run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool, then re-install Acrobat. The cleanup tool will remove anything in the registry with respect to Acrobat that might be funky.

Help "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close..."
I have windows XP with service pack 2 installed and downloaded iTunes from the apple website, when i click on the iTunes icon on the desk top or from the itunes folder it will not open, I get the following error "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" then gives you the option to send error report or don't send. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled it several times and it keeps doing the same thing. Anybody know what I need to do to get it to work???
Hi -
I apologize for waiting a couple of days to post - I got sidetracked. Anyway, my "fix" involved a lot of trial and error and stumbling around in the dark, but it does seem to have worked so far. Hopefully I can put together a coherent enough sequence of events to help you out.
Preface: While you're doing these steps, disable your antiviral/spyware programs just to make sure that's eliminated as a source of problems.
1) Using the Add/Remove Programs function, uninstall ITunes, Quicktime and any IPod software.
2) Download the Windows Installer Cleaup utility from Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Install this on your computer. As I understand it, this is basically a program that goes one level deeper to remove software from your computer. Once it's installed, open it and use it to remove anything involving ITunes, Quicktime and IPod.
3) Unfortunately, you still probably haven't removed all the problem traces of Quicktime from your computer. To edit your registry, select "Run" from the Start menu and type "regedit" or "regedt32" in the box. A window should open with the registry editor. There will be a really long list of files on the left side. Scroll down about 2/3 of the way and you'll see a series of folders with "Quicktime" in the name. Right-click on each of these and select "delete." Do the same for "ITunes" and "IPod" folders in this alphabetical list.
Not done yet.
Under the "Edit" menu, select "Find." Do a search on "Quicktime" - unfortunately there is no "find all" function. So the first file with "Quicktime" will come up; right-click and delete it. Press F3 to find another file and delete - repeat until you've gotten rid of all the Quicktime files. Then search on "ITunes" and do the same process; finally do the same for "IPod." This will take some time.
**Warning: Be very careful not to accidentally delete files not marked with Quicktime, IPod or ITunes. Messing around with the registry is serious stuff that a non-computer expert such as myself should probably not be doing .
4) Finally, once you've gotten rid of everything Quicktime, ITunes or IPod-related, download the latest versions of Quicktime and ITunes (separately). Install Quicktime first, then install ITunes.
Note: You have to have adminstrator access on your computer to edit the registry.
Hope this helps...
