Apache-siteminder-weblgogic

Hi ALL,
I am facing one issue in apache-siteminder-weblogic environment. We are using Siteminder for SSO functionality
where webagent is configured to apache and there is a redirection logic in apache
Coming to issue:
we recently upgraded weblogic from 10.0 to 10.3.4 , so after upgrade, this redirection thing is not working. So when i rolled out to previous version,
it starts working. No idea what could be the issue. We enabled weblogic Proxy-plugin parameter also for each manage server in new version. But still we are getting issue.
I am not sure, do i have to change anything in siteminder configurations. please advice.
Thanks

Please can you clarify what exactly you mean by the redirection not working.
Do you mean the weblogic-apache plugin which comes with the default installation is not working and does not load-balance and/or fail-over between weblogic servers when required?
As for the change between Weblogic 10.0 and 10.3.4, please check if your servers are in a cluster or stand alone servers.
For Cluster - Set the WebLogic Plug-in Enabled control in WebLogic Cluster level(where the cluster is defined).
For stand-alone - Set the WebLogic Plug-in Enabled control in WebLogic Server level (each individual server).

Enterprise portal server front ended with apache reverse proxy server which hosts Siteminder web agent 6.0.  Enterprise portal server and backend SAP application servers all configured to use sap logon tickets.  Enterprise portal server "ticket" login module stack configured to accept "HeaderVariableLoginModule" as optional criteria.  We verified that Siteminder web agent is indeed sending "HTTP_LDAP_UID" (LDAP userid header variable).  However, Enterprise portal is not accepting header variable as authentication and still challenged for basic UID password authentication even through reverse proxy.  I will gladly provide screenshots as needed.  Has anyone made this setup work, we need your assistance.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sasha ,
we have got this working .
    Follow the instructions in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d0/a3d940c2653126e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm EXACTLY ...particularly make sure you add them to the ticket template in the J2EE engine (not the SAPJ2EE template) .
Make absolutely sure the header variable is what you think it is ( we used a perl script running in Apache to verify this as Apache can append HTTP_... to the header or not depending on the level and OS )..Do all that and it will work !

  • SiteMinder Web Agent integration?

Has anyone integrated OC4J 10g with SiteMinder for authentication and authorization before? Any documentations I can refer to for configuration and programming?
    Thanks,
    Benjamin

    Hi,
I'm also figuring out how I can integrate Siteminder 6QMR4 to work with Oracle 10g (9.0.4.3) application server.
However, my situation is slightly different.
The 10g OAS version and OS (Suse Linux 9) is not supported by Siteminder.
So, I have to told that we can install siteminder on a proxy server running a supported Linux OS and covalent Apache server. Then get this proxy server to talk to Oracle HTTP server on my current 10g OAS.
But I have a feeling this setup will not work.
Reason being, I'm not sure how to get the OID to sync with the user directory on the siteminder policy server.
Furthermore, I found out from Metalink note 297880.1 that there is a patch which I need to apply for 10g (9.0.4.1) before siteminder can work. I also can't find a similar patch for 9.0.4.3 nor am I sure if I need to apply this patch if using a proxy server to talk to Oracle HTTP server.
    Can anyone please advise?
    Cheers

  • Siteminder authentication on j2ee Dialog Instances only but not on C.I

I am doing an Siteminder external authentication implementation on SAP
Enterprise Portal 6.40 SP16.I have a configuration that want somehow to
    validate.
The issue is that the J2EE Dialog Instances should be protected by SM
Agent (they are the load-balanced nodes with the Apache web agent) but
the Central Instance (which will run on a separate node) protected just
with the default basic authentication supported by SAP and not with the
SM Agent. The idea is to be able to access the CI without going through
the Front Web Instances for troubleshooting purposes.
Can we support them on this & in what form of configuration?
I appreciate your comments on this.
    Thanks
    Tagore

ok I will try to add BasicPasswordLoginModule and check it out .after that as you said when I access url http://server:50000/irj -> it should directly go to portal  with default authentication (not siteminder).
I'm still wondering without customizing authscheme.xml how the siteminder is doing authentication  as per your scenario explained in ur previous mail.
we have customized the in httpd.conf file in   apache server like  below..
    <VirtualHost server:80>
        ServerName xxxxxx
    Alias /siteminderagent/pwcgi/ /usr/netegrity/webagent/pw/
        <Directory /usr/netegrity/webagent/pw/>
            Options Indexes MultiViews ExecCGI
            AllowOverride None
            Order allow,deny
            Allow from all
        </Directory>
    xxxxxx
    xxxxx
         ProxyPass       /irj/  http://server:50000/irj/
         ProxyPassReverse /irj/ http://server:50000/irj/
    </VirtualHost>
APACHE deafult port 80 will listen ur portal url access http://server/irj -> pass this resource request to webagent and  check if or not resource proteced in siteminder policy server and does authentication .Once its autheticatated sitmeinder provide  user id  in the form header to j2ee.
if you try to  access  the  portal by giving following url http://server:50000/irj will not work .
    could you tell me the
Note: in our scenario whe have installed both webserver (IBM HTTP APACHE 6.X)and web agent & ERP AGENT & PORTAL SERVER  installed on same box.
Can you send me  doc how you custmozed ur webserver for proxy & reverse proxy  to my e-mail id :[email protected]
anyhow may I know your e-mail id ?
    Thanks

  • Integrating SiteMinder with OHS 11.1.2.1

    Hello,
I'm trying to find out if it's possible to integrate CA SiteMinder with OHS 11.1.2.1 running on Windows 2008 64Bit? We try to do it but was unable to make it work yet.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
    1. The SiteMinder team installed the SiteMinder Web agent on the Windows 2008 64Bit server
    2. The SiteMinder team try to run the configuration wizzard but the wizzard cannot find the Oracle OHS Web server, so they try to do it manually
    3. We updated the httpd configuration files and added the line describe in the CA siteminder installation guide
    LoadModule sm_module "D:/siteminder/bin/mod_sm22.dll"
    SmInitFile "D:/siteminder/conf/WebAgent.conf"
We always get the following error:

  • Setting up Apache Proxy with BO XI R2

I was reading through a number of postings to figure out what is wrong with my setup to accomplish the above. But for the life of me, I seem to missing something.
I have an Apache 2.2.9 running on one server acting as a Proxy for a BO XI R2 running on another server. The Admin Console and Infoview are deployed on the stock Tomcat server (ver 5.x). The proxyName and proxyPort were configured in the sever.xml.
I can get my apache server to forward the user requests to the login page. Once the user supplies the userid and password with the Enterprise Authentication, I keep getting a 502 Proxy Error.
Is there a document or wiki posting that someone can point me to? I know its done time and again, so it must be something I might be missing.
Here are the pertinent entries in the httpd.conf file on the Apache server.
             ProxyPass /businessobjects/enterprise115/admin http://boserver/businessobjects/enterprise115/admin
             ProxyPass /businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch http://boserver/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch
             ProxyPass /jsfadmin http://boserver/jsfadmin
             ProxyPassReverse /businessobjects/enterprise115/admin http://boserver/businessobjects/enterprise115/admin
             ProxyPassReverse /businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch http://boserver/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch
             ProxyPassReverse /jsfadmin http://boserverjsfadmin
I am not sure if its very relevant but the Apache is configured with a Siteminder agent to proxy onto the Tomcat server only if the user authenticates against the Siteminder initially. That piece works just fine.
    Regards
    Madhu

    Thanks for the prompt response.
The typo with jsfadmin was just in the posting here since I was stripping out the server names.
The web applications on the Tomcat are the stock applications and they work fine if I were to hit them directly without involving the Apache server. I do realize that there is a specific order of deployment when it comes to deployment on BEA.
The HA-PROXY- I need to read up on that.
    Thanks

  • Siteminder question

    Hi Tim,
I had a basic question about siteminder setup:
We have a architecture of   Apache web server --> tomcat application server -- bo server on different machines.
Where does the site minder web agent gets loaded  On the web server or the  Application server .
Also if the Web server is in the DMZ  will that be supported .
    thanks
    Rakesh

siteminder does not support tomcat (at least with our only supported version 6.x in 4.x compatibility mode) so you would need to use apache, unless using trusted authentication at which point you could pick up your SM-user anywhere (portal, apache, or any other supported webagent server.

  • SiteMinder?

    Hi ,
Can anybody tell what is the relationship between Siteminder, ldap, ume, authentication and portal.Need to understand why one uses siteminder etc.
    Thanks,
    Ashok

    Hello,
SiteMinder is a Single-Sign-On solution for web access management in multiple web application landscapes. So if you plan to integrate multiple web applications into your portal, you login to the portal and then have access to all integrated applications without any additional login. For that, you have to install a SiteMinder policy server where all user login data are stored. In front of every application (including the portal itself), you have to install a SiteMinder Agent. The agent is usually integrated into a web server (e.g. as a module in Apache).
The whole login process is then handled by SiteMinder. However, as the portal has its own, configurable authentication process, in addition you will have to configure the portal login module stack (HeaderVariableLoginModule) so that the portal can check if the SiteMinder login was executed successfully before.
The whole login process is called authentication.
Portal user data are by default stored in its own portal DB. However, you can connect any external user data store (e.g. the SiteMinder LDAP mentioned before) to the portal.
UME processes all user related actions in the portal and provides an interface to get user data via an API for portal applications.
Hope this sheds some light on SM SSO functionality,
    Elmar

  • Problem when rendering a report in BI Publisher deployed on Apache Tomcat

    Hello for all.
First, I am going to tell you technical specifications about the software where I have deployed BI Publisher:
    1. OS: Windows XP SP3
    2. JDK and JRE: 1.6.0_24
    3. Apache Tomcat: 5.5.33 (Set JVM Max Memory in 768MB)
    4. BI Publisher EE: 10.1.3.4.1
I have deployed BI Publisher on Apache Tomcat without any problem, I uploaded Report files (both XDO and RTF), and I can see the reports in XML output format, but when I try to see the reports rendered by using the rtf file I have configured, BI Publisher shows me an Error; I checked the Apache Tomcat log and the following error is reported:

  • Problem With httpd.conf and mod_rewrite rules Apache 2.2

I have some RewriteRules that are working on my Leopard Client Apache 2.2 machine - but when I try to implement them on Leopard Server Apache 2.2, they don't work. I don't get any errors, they just won't execute.
Could somebody with Leopard Server help me out using the below info?

    =========HTTPD.CONF=============
    #### Default httpd.conf for Mac OS X Server, Apache 2.2
    #### This httpd.conf differs from the httpd.conf distributed
    #### with Apache and the httpd.conf present on Mac OS X.
    #### Feel free to edit this; the Server Admin app also edits this file but will
    #### respect your changes unless noted below. See also ReadMe.txt.
    ## ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    ## configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    ## NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
    ## mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation
    ## (available at <URL:<a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/core.html#lockfile>);
    ## you will save yourself a lot of trouble.
    ## Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path.
    ServerRoot "/usr"
    ## PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
    ## identification number when it starts.
    PidFile /var/run/httpd.pid
    ## ScoreBoardFile: File used to store internal server process information.
    ## Not all architectures require this. But if yours does (you'll know because
    ## this file will be created when you run Apache) then you must ensure that
    ## no two invocations of Apache share the same scoreboard file.
    #ScoreBoardFile "/var/run/apache2runtimestatus"
    ## Server-pool size regulation. Rather than making you guess how many
    ## server processes you need, Apache dynamically adapts to the load it
    ## sees --- that is, it tries to maintain enough server processes to
    ## handle the current load, plus a few spare servers to handle transient
    ## load spikes (e.g., multiple simultaneous requests from a single
    ## Netscape browser).
    ## It does this by periodically checking how many servers are waiting
    ## for a request. If there are fewer than MinSpareServers, it creates
    ## a new spare. If there are more than MaxSpareServers, some of the
    ## spares die off. The default values are probably OK for most sites.
    MinSpareServers 1
    MaxSpareServers 1
    ## Number of servers to start initially --- should be a reasonable ballpark
    ## figure.
    StartServers 1
    ## MaxRequestsPerChild: the number of requests each child process is
    ## allowed to process before the child dies. The child will exit so
    ## as to avoid problems after prolonged use when Apache (and maybe the
    ## libraries it uses) leak memory or other resources. On most systems, this
    ## isn't really needed, but a few (such as Solaris) do have notable leaks
    ## in the libraries. For these platforms, set to something like 10000
    ## or so; a setting of 0 means unlimited.
    ## NOTE: This value does not include keepalive requests after the initial
    ## request per connection. For example, if a child process handles
    ## an initial request and 10 subsequent "keptalive" requests, it
    ## would only count as 1 request towards this limit.
    MaxRequestsPerChild 100000
    ## Dynamic Shared Object (DSO) Support
    ## To be able to use the functionality of a module which was built as a DSO you
    ## have to place corresponding `LoadModule' lines at this location so the
    ## directives contained in it are actually available before they are used.
    ## Please read the file http://httpd.apache.org/docs/dso.html for more
    ## details about the DSO mechanism and run `httpd -l' for the list of already
    ## built-in (statically linked and thus always available) modules in your httpd
    ## binary.
    ## Note: The order in which modules are loaded is important. Don't change
    ## the order below without expert advice.
    ## Example:
    ## LoadModule foo_module libexec/mod_foo.so

    # Settings for hosting different languages.
    # Required modules: mod_mime, mod_negotiation
    # DefaultLanguage and AddLanguage allows you to specify the language of
    # a document. You can then use content negotiation to give a browser a
    # file in a language the user can understand.
    # Specify a default language. This means that all data
    # going out without a specific language tag (see below) will
    # be marked with this one. You probably do NOT want to set
    # this unless you are sure it is correct for all cases.
    # * It is generally better to not mark a page as
    # * being a certain language than marking it with the wrong
    # * language!
    # DefaultLanguage nl
    # Note 1: The suffix does not have to be the same as the language
    # keyword --- those with documents in Polish (whose net-standard
    # language code is pl) may wish to use "AddLanguage pl .po" to
    # avoid the ambiguity with the common suffix for perl scripts.
    # Note 2: The example entries below illustrate that in some cases
    # the two character 'Language' abbreviation is not identical to
    # the two character 'Country' code for its country,
    # E.g. 'Danmark/dk' versus 'Danish/da'.
    # Note 3: In the case of 'ltz' we violate the RFC by using a three char
    # specifier. There is 'work in progress' to fix this and get
    # the reference data for rfc1766 cleaned up.

I will post the rewrite rules again in the code brackets. Sorry for the long post. - If some one can try them out on their Leopard Server to see if they can get them to work, it would be much appreciated. Again, these work on my Leopard Client but I can't get them to work on Server.

  • Looking for Custom BIOS for Laptop *MSI GE70 Apache Pro 061* Win 8.1 64

I installed two G Skill Ripjaws 8GB 2133 Mhz Ram chips into my Apache Pro laptop. The speeds only show up as 1000 Mhz. I am trying to get a custom BIOS so I can make the necessary changes to that will allow my memory to run up to speed. Can anyone out there help me out with this? Thanks.

Thanks, Nichrome. However, the price difference between 1600 Mhz and 2133 Mhz was not much at all. I've future proofed myself if I decide to upgrade the CPU or even get a better laptop down the road. These ram sticks should at least be backwards compatible to 1600 Mhz, but still I'm not able to make it run at that speed. I'm still going to need a custom BIOS to make those changes. I appreciate the reponse, nonetheless.

  • Compiling Apache 1.3.9 & PHP 3.0.12 to use Oracle 8.1.5 on SuSe 6.2

    Hi!
I am trying to compile the above packets but am running into massive problems.
PHP3 compiles well, if i try to use the "normal" static module for Apache, but the Apache configure script says that it needs an ANSI C compiler and stops.
I am using GCC 2.7.2.3 with the bugfixes from SuSe.
Since that did not work I tried the configuration as a Dynamic Module. The Apache "Readme.config" explains two ways to do so, but the first has the same problem with GCC and the second (via APXS) compiles Apache without problems, but PHP3 wont compile since it does not find a library. The exact error is: "/usr/i486-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -lclntsh: No such file or directory"
I found a libclntsh.so.8.0 in the oracle/lib directory, but since i fumbled around with this library (i tried ln -s libclntsh.so.8.0 libclntsh.so) sqlplus says libclntsh.so.8.0: cannot find file data: no such file or directory (even now that the link is deleted again).
And PHP still wont compile. Any ideas would be welcome.
P.S.: Is it normal that Oracle has to be told NOT to create a database during install, TO create a database???
We worked for 3 days on the Oracle installation and that was the only way to install Oracle without errors.
    thx

SuSe 6.2 have a patch file for Oracle made from their developers.
Never use Oracle 8.1.5.0.1 patch file that doesn't work because

Use SuSe 6.2 Oracle patch set.
(don't remember the web page where you can download it but a

    it)
