Go to the iTunes store on your computer > Purchased (in the quick links section on the right) > sign in > Music
If it is already on your computer it will say "Downloaded" otherwise it will have a cloud icon with an arrow in it. Click it to download.

Handbrake is the way to go.
Quicktime Pro does not have the ability to rip and convert DVDs.

Hopefully in answer to the many posts on “how to get various video formats onto your iPod” I have put together a summary of applications I use. I have tried a few others with varying amounts of success (some of which are free) - I have finally plumped for the software produced by Xilisoft as providing good quality video relatively affordable cost for use withPC’s and numerous MS operating systems. Is my IPOD shuffle with software 1.0.1 compatible with ITunes version 11.1.3. I tunes doesn't seem to recognize the shuffle anymore. Was this just a ploy to get us to buy new IPODS?

My much older 1st gen and 2nd gen shuffles still work with the latest iTunes, so I don't think it's a "ploy."
If you are using the iTunes 11.x for the first time, the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) may be hidden. To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
The shuffle does not appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES?

Hi I have just updated my computer and I seem to have lost the disk which came with my ipod (ipod for windows software 1.0). Does anyone know where I can download this so I can transfer my music to my ipod?
