APE 10 - white screen in monitor while playing video - but everything fine in APPro CS6

Hello,
I have an Asus G75V, Windows 7 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10, as well as a subscription of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (with Encore). All windows updates are up to date, also the optional (save Bing, which I do not need). I have the latest version of Quick Time (QT 7). Till today everything was fine, but now... I open a project in AP Elements (as well when I create a new one) and get this message:
We have detected incompatible display driver. To get a better and faster playback performance, please update your display driver. Display driver details: NVIDIA Corporation GEForce GTX 670M/PCIe/SSE2 3.0.0
The point is I do have the latest update from Nvidia installed, from their webpage (version 306.97). Nvidia webpage after scanning my system says: GeForce GTX 670M 306.97     Your PC currently has the latest driver installed for your GPU. No driver update is necessary at this time.
In effect, when I open the AP Elements, in the monitor panel i see the image corresponding to the cursor position on the timeline, but when I press PLAY the image in the monitor turns white, I hear the sound of the movie, but there is no picture, just white color. When I STOP the image of the movie appears. The video is 1920x1080, 25 fps from a DSRL camera, the codec is Lagarith. The computer used to handle this size of video with no problems.
When I open another project in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 or in Encore CS6, everything is fine, I see the image and hear the sound.
What I did trying to fix it is the following: I reinstalled Adobe Premiere Elements; uninstalled the Nvidia driver; reinstalled the Nvidia driver, the last version and also tried to downgrade to the previous version (306.23). To no avail.
I found this: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/769303 but it is for APE 9.0, not 10.0 - I do not have the BadDriver.txt file
What could I do, please help?
Thanks for help,
Michal

Thank you JM,
my error was to look for it in the ProgramFILES folder, whereas it is - as written in
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/769303
in the ProgramDATA (which is usually hidden),
Now it works fine!
Best regards,
Michal

  • IPod Touch/iPhone 4s in a BMW - Screen size problems while playing videos since iOS5

    Hi,
I have an iPod Touch 4th generation 64GB that i use connected to my 2011 BMW M5 purchased with all multimedia and iPod/iPhone options available from factory.
The car lets me play music and video playlists from the iPod and the videos can be seen on the BMW iDrive screen, when i was in iOS4 everything worked perfectly, but then i updated to iOS5 and one problem arised and then updated to iOS6 and now to iOS6.1 but the problem still persists, basically the problem consists that sometimes video size and aspect ratio of videos displayed in the car display are wrong, and some times the same videos are displayed correctly. It is just random, sometimes is OK and sometimes it is wrong, but when it starts to display wrongly, all videos following are displayed wrongly.
After trying everything i discovered that while a video is playing with wrong size and aspect ratio, i can correct this behavior, sometimes manually unlocking the iPod and entering the "Music" app and exiting, and sometimes entering the iPod configuration and exiting, just entering and exiting, and sometimes doing both of them one after another. This is a temporary sollution because it is really disturbing to do this process while driving with the iPod inside the cradle in the armrest. I wish i could downgrade to iOS4.1 where i was before and everything worked perfectly, as there are no new features i care in iOS5 or 6.
I tried restoring the device in iTunes... 5-6 times in total since iOS5 release, tried using an iPhone 4s with iOS6 and the same problem happens, so obviously it is a bug present in latter iOS that it is not initializing correctly the screen when requested by external accessories.
you can see in this BMW forum other people with the same isue: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602131
I can provide photos or testing if needed
    Thanks and excuse my english.

You say your turning it off does that mean you are holding in the sleep button and sliding the unit off or does it mean you are just locking the unit with the screen off?
If you have the Wifi enabled and only have the IPT in standby mode then this is why it's depleting the battery so quickly. Charge the unit till it's full with the little plug showing and then eject it and turn off wifi and leave the unit in standby overnight and see if the battery depletes at all.
I've noticed that Wifi really ***** the life out of the battery very quickly so give it a try and report back to us.

  • Timeline won't play video but scrubs fine CS4

I don't know what I did, but the timeline won't play the video now in CS4, only the audio.  It scrubs ok.
I cleaned the cache. I tried the loop button, opening another saved project, and starting a new one.
Priemiere Elements works ok.  I'm not sure what I did, nor what else to try to resolve this..
Anyone familiar with this and know the solution?

  • S890 screen turns off while playing games

I bought this phone a week ago.Everything about this phone is awesom except one thing. The screen turns off while playing games automatically, which is really annoying. Is there any fix for this??

    Graphics card springs to mind;
also, in your game settings, in either options or video settings (or similar). Are the settings correct for your card. I know on a low end PC, "full hardware acceleration" can cause crashing.
I'd still think, it's more a graphics related problem. If you have a big flat screen mintor (e.g 24,27 or even 30") then that, in it's own right needs a good card. Add the game to it and you may have problems. I do take it you have compared the specs with what's required on the box (of the game) and "about this mac/"more info"). All the best.

  • My screen locks up while playing words with friends..any idea why?

My screen goes dark while playing and I don't know why or how to fix it. It comes back eventually.

Just the game or the phone as a whole? My guess is you have a hardware failure but there are a few things you can try if it's software such as resetting your phone or doing a restore. To reset press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons for about 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo reappears. To restore do a backup before proceeding:
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

  • Screen Saver starts while playing DVD in Front Row (Tiger)

Just recently, Screen Saver starts while playing a DVD in Front Row. This never used to happen and I suspect it's due to some software update. I know that Leopard users now have Settings within Front Row to disable the Screen Saver...but why is this just now happening in Tiger? Playing a DVD in Front Row used to override whatever Screen Saver settings there were.
Part of the convenience of using Front Row is now lost for me. I don't want to have to adjust my Energy Saver settings each and every time I want to use Front Row to play a DVD. And I'm not ready to upgrade to Leopard yet.
Any solutions? Any way Tiger users can adjust settings in Front Row?

Not sure if this works on Tiger, but this may be the solution you are looking for

  • VLC and even Quicktime stutters while playing videos

VLC and even Quicktime stutters while playing videos, more so for HD content. Any tips to improve performance? I have already tried turning off automatic graphics switching, did not make things better
I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro 15 inch, and i have had this problem from forever

I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself correctly. I was referring to watching a video on the iPod. It is really annoying when the video freezes momentarily, and the audio continues to play smoothly, but by the time the video catches up, you have lost several frames of your video. You know what I mean? Really annoying...
    Papi625
    Let me ask you this:
How can you "watch" a video while you are scrolling
around in your menus? There is only one screen on my
iPod and I can only use it to watch videos OR scroll
through menus. When I press the menu button while
watching a video, the iPod goes back to the previous
menu. Then, when I go back to the video, it starts
back exactly where it was when I pressed the menu
button in the first place. Apparently, it pauses
while you are looking through the menu screens. Now
with music, I understand what you're saying but I
haven't had any stuttering or anything while browsing
the menus. The video is a bad example because it
doesn't work like you have explained....

    Lamontsplace
Thanks for asking for clarification. Appreciated. I did not see you post 8 until after I posted my post 9.
Important that we define the issue as being related to just preview or to preview and export.
    Project Preset....
When you start a new project, a project preset (project settings) need to be set by you or the project. The program
is designed to do that based on the properties of the first video file that you drag to the Timeline. Sometimes the program
does it right, sometimes not. If not, then you set the project preset manually assuring that the description of the project preset
matches your video properties for at least frame size, frame rate, etc. A major function of the project preset is to direct
the program to give you the correct space in the Edit area monitor for editing. If you select a project preset which includes
1920 x 1080 in its description, then the space in the Edit area monitor will reflect that 16:9 format.
If you or the program have set the correct project preset, then, when you drag your video to the Timeline for the first time, there
will be no colored line over its content. That means that you are getting the best possible preview in the monitor. Once you
edit that video, you will get an orange line over it. That is the program telling you that you no longer have the best possible preview
and to get it you Timeline render using the Render button above the Timeline. When that Timeline rendering is complete, the orange
line turns to green. That is the program telling you that you have the best possible preview which will be in effect until you edit the
file again. Then orange to green again.
Right now I would prefer to stay with trying to get your photos to an acceptable preview stage. No matter what the project preset,
these will need Timeline rendering after they are dragged to the Timeline. Several have reported that the use of the DSLR project preset results in sharper images pre and post export. I want to see if any of that can enhance your situation.
Please review and consider and then let me know if I am going in the right direction for the explanations. I will adjust
    my instructions/suggestions accordingly.
    More later.
Thanks again for the follow up.

While playing videos on itunes, the audio and video will stop and start several times during playback. This just started recently and it does it on all my videos. Help!!

Try to download the application VLC.
It is a media player that should be able to play any audio or video file you may have. If your videos play flawlessly using that application, then the issue is with iTunes and Quicktime, as they are both essentially similar software types when it comes to playing media.
In that case you may need to install a plug-in file called Perian, in order for the videos to play correctly within iTunes or at least Quicktime...

  • How do you set iphone4S to hear phone calls while playing videos

This is my first iphone but have used ipod touch for years.  What settings should I have to hear phone call rings while playing videos?

There is no setting for that on the phone. Some carriers provide ringback tones, which play instead of the caller hearing a ring. But I am not aware of an app that would play a message prior to you picking up the phone. The amount of time before you pick up is not a constant, and if it lasts too long, then the call would go to voicemail.

  • Elements Organizer 8 - some WMV are not displayed properly in the Play Video but are in Play Vide

    Hello:
Elements Organizer - some WMV are not displayed properly in the Play Video but are in Play Vide on Full screen. What's the problem? Wrong codec?

Because WMV's can contain a lot of flags, like DRM, they can exhibit odd behavior, indeed.
Usually, AV files will display in their native resolution, i.e. in their set Frame Size/Aspect Ratio and with their set PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio), but sometimes those flags are missed, or are altered by other programs.
Remember, WMV's are designed to be streaming delivery-only, and are not intended, or designed to be edited. Most NLE's (Non Linear Editors) will allow them to be edited, but will require extra processing to do so. As is mentioned, WMM is designed around editing that delivery-only format, but most others are not.
There are many other formats/CODEC's, that ARE designed to be edited by the vast majority of NLE's, such as DV-AVI Type II's.
The best workflow is to NOT bring WMV's into the mix, unless one is using WMM exclusively. Converting those to an easily editable format/CODEC will always be the best course of action.
    Good luck,

  • Firefox plays video, but no sound. when I type about:plugins in location bar, it shows the firefox default plugin is not enabled. When I look at my plugins, it says it is enabled. I have uninstalled 3.6 and re-installed with the same result.

firefox plays video, but no sound. when I type about:plugins in location bar, it shows the firefox default plugin is not enabled. When I look at my plugins, it says it is enabled. I have uninstalled 3.6 and re-installed with the same result. Why do I have no sound. Computer plays I-tunes and all other sounds, just no web browser sounds.

Glad you seem to have sorted things out.
The warning about the warranty is light hearted, I think at one stage it warned "here be dragons" but also intended to make us think as it warns that making changes may produce problems.
