APE 7  Audio Fill Left, Fill Right

What is the trick to make this effect work. I have a video clip with only one channel. I need it in two channels.  I select the clip and apply Audio Fill Right and nothing happens. I also tried Fill Left. How do you apply this effect, please.
BTW Is the top channel on the time line the left or right channel.
Thanks all.
Cheers!  Phil

The Fill Right/Fill Left Effect only works when one has a 2-channel source/Track. With 1-channel, there is nothing to Fill.
If your Project has a 2-channel Master, probably the easiest way to get a dual-mono (2-channel from a 1-channel source) is to just duplicate that 1-channel source. It will then go to into the 2-channel Master. If one wants to adjust the separation a bit, that is easily done with the Audio Mixer, and the Balance for each of the two 1-channel, mono Tracks.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • How do I deal with audio, seperate left and right and make each stereo--CS5

    I have a two mono mike recording which I can seperate into two seperate audio timeline tracks one is now left track in a seperate timline and the other is right in the other timeline, how do I make each of these tracks then into psuedo stereo tracks?  Do I have to go to Soundbooth or is there a simple way in Premiere?

    Bill G, tell me what I am missing and I'll use your method.  I have what I think you are describing, and I don't understand the need to do anything special, if you use channel mapping.
    I record a lav on one channel, and a different wireless mic on the other.  When captured, I have a clip that PR would normally treat as a single stereo track.
    BEFORE putting any clips on the timeline, select all clips and set channel mapping.  Set each channel to mono.  Now PR treats these as two mono tracks.  The output for each mono is the master track, which in my project is stereo.  I can change "volume" for each track in the mixer, etc.  but each channel is provided to the left and right  master output.
    I didn't go back to sort out what you had, but if you had two stereo tracks, one each with a left and right channel only, I can see that you needed some other solution.

  • Audio Effect - Left to Right Audio?

    I love the new audio effects in iMovie but it would be great if there was a simply one that will allow you to make your audio channel either left or right. Or have one like you do with the rooms that just doubles the channels without any room changes.
    Thanks for a great product,

    So am I right I can not switch between two audio channels in iMovie 11?
    I have two audio tracks in my video files: left - english (usually), right - russian (usually).
    I need to do the following:
    1. In one file I need to leave only one track and expand this one onto two tracks to make the stereo effect.
    2. In other file I need to switch between left and right tracks from time to time (the languages are changing between channel in this file): sometime I need to leave left track, sometime - right.
    I can not do this in iMovie 11?
    May I do this in Final Cut Express?

  • How to divide audio in Left and Right Channel?

    Hi there,
    I want to divide audiofiles into the left and right channel, but I keep forgetting the shortcut.
    Can anyone give me the shortcut again?
    Thanks a lot

    If you have two audio clips of the same duration, you can select (highlight) both, then hit Option l (lowercase L) to make them a stereo pair. The pan will be set to -1 indicating that channel 1 will be routed to the left output channel and channel 2 will be routed to the right output channel.

  • How to adjust audio balance (left or right speaker) in Logic 9?

    Hi,
    I am playing a midi file with several instruments in Logic. Some of the instruments seem to output from the left speaker only, while others are from the right speaker only.
    In each instrument there is a small circular graphic with a number (its either -50 or +50 depending on the instrument). It seems that changing this value adjusts the balance:
    ie. -50 = left speaker only
         +50 = right speaker only
         0 = Both speakers equally.
    After I change the values to 0, the audio plays through both speakers (this is what I want). But the moment I rewind the midi file, all instruments go back to their previous values of -50 or + 50. How do I make sure that the settings remain the way I want, and don't go back to what they were when I rewind?
    Thanks.

    Hi
    It seems likely that the Regions created from the MIDI file have embeded Pan (CC10) and likely Volume (CC7) messages. Open each and every region in the Event list, and delete all CC10 (& CC7) events.

  • How to separate left and right channel in audiotracks

    I would like to adjust audio tracks left and right channels separetly from each other. Now the volume levels are linked together. Is there a way to separate them?
    Other question is ; for some reason the pan slider in viewer does not seem to have left/right affect but kind of mono/stereo affect. It is supposed to be so, or do I have some audio preference button in wrong position?

    To answer to myself: Go to the User Manual and read the Chapter Audio Editing Basics from page 425.
    Or click the clip in timeline which you want to change, and go to Modify---> uncheck the stereo pair option in there.

  • How to Get Fill Left/Fill Right to Work?

    I'm working in Premiere Pro CS4.
    I have a video clip with a stereo audio track attached. The left channel has sound, while the right channel does not. (I can see this in the clip's waveform in the timeline.) I would like to copy the left channel sound to the right channel so both channels have sound.
    To do this, I opened the effects window, and dragged the Audio Effects--Stereo--Fill Left effect to the clip. But nothing happened. I cannot get the Fill Right to do anything either.
    What am I doing wrong? Is there a render command that is needed to make this effect work properly?
    Sort of going nuts with this...thanks for your help.

    Argh, I take it back.
    I apologize, because I'm a little new to Premiere--I assumed the waveform for the clip would change after the effect was applied, either in the timeline or in the audio waveform view in the source monitor.
    But when I apply the effect and test it out in the audio mixer, now I see both channels match. The right channel is no longer empty.
    So the audio mixer is the only place you can check that this effect is working? Is that true?

  • Message Mapping using Left justified, right blank/space filled

    Hi,
    My Interface is outbound Interface.
    Suppose source field named 'Filename' is mapped with Target field named 'Filename'.Condition is AS IS(Left justified, right blank/space filled).
    How should i do this mapping?

    Hi Sanghamitra Duttagupta,
                                                you can try this UDF below
    public static String fieldJustified(String s)
              try
                   final int fieldLength=20;
                   char filler=' ';
                   s=s.trim();
                   int l=s.length();
                   while(l<fieldLength)
                        s=s+filler;
                        l++;
              catch(Exception e)
                   return s;
              return s;
    Please reset the value of the variable "fieldLength",  in code above to the field length as per your need. The right side will be filled with extra spaces since value of "filler" variable is ' '. you can set this to any character of your choice so that total field length is equal to value of variable "fieldLength" (which is 20 here).
    so if input is  "        hi"
    output           "hi                  "

  • How to fill up my laptop screen with Firefox horizontally as it currently has a 3" margin on the left and right sides?tly has a

    I just purchased a 17.3" screened-laptop using MS Outlook and Explorer 9 Browser. I cannot use Firefox as my default Browser because I cannot get Firefox to fill up my screen.When I open up Firefox, it maintains a large 3" margin on the left and right sides which does not exist when I open up Explorer 9. Increasing the font size only increases the text size vertically but does nothing to decrease the margin size horizontally.

    You can use this extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:

  • How to fill right/map one channel for all audio

    I've got a bunch of audio clips in the timeline where I need to grab just the right channel from the stereo file. Usually I would just add the effect "Fill Right" to them all, but there's got to be a cleaner/easier way to do this...

    It's easier to do before you add the clips to the timeline, you can convert the audio to two mono tracks. For the audio you already have in the sequence there is no easy way to split it. If it is all on one track you could add fill right to that track in the track mixer, if it is spread over several tracks you could add a dialogue sub-mix group and add the fill right effect to that.

  • Converting 11 digit value into 18 digit value by filling from left to right

    Hello Experts,
    I'm a newbie in ABAP-coding. I didn't found anything in the forum, so I'm sure somebody could give a little help. I would like to concatenate value into field name "mat". The input length is 11 the output length should be 18. Could you please look at the code belove:
    data: c1(7) value '10000002',
          c2(3) value '001',
          c3(1) value '0',
          mat type /BI0/OIMATERIAL.
    CONCATENATE c1 c2 c3 into mat.
    write mat.
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'
      EXPORTING
        INPUT     = mat
    IMPORTING
       OUTPUT     = mat.
    But is not giving me the correct result. I've defined a field "mat" which has the same proerty as 0MATERIAL and length = 18.
    After concatenating values into mat, the result should be 10000002001 (length = 11).
    But I would like the result to be showing from left to right in this way: 000000010000002001 (length = 18)
    Could somebody tell where the problem could be?
    Many Thanks
    Mamadou

    The probelm appears to be with
    mat type /BI0/OIMATERIAL.
    I changed it to
    MAT(18)
    and got
    000000010000000010

  • Mono into Stereo fill right doesn't work

    Hello,
    I am trying to convert a mono track into stereo. When I put the fill right effect on the whole audio track goes dead. There aren't any levels or any other remote signs of the audio. Is there a problem with it and what is the work around?

    Mono is one track of audio stream  ONLY so there is nothing to fill.
    When you use the Fill L/R Effect... it does not create a stereo effect from a mono track.
    It is designed to fill the left or right of a STEREO track with the respective audio as chosen.
    eg. Record into camera with  2  different levels of audio ( hi / low) and choose the best in the edit
    Essentially..the same audio is used on both stereo tracks.   ie result = same level, same quality, but no stereo effect.  Its just a Stereo track as 2 equal audio streams.

  • Premiere Elements 13 (not Pro), recorded a video with mono mic input (left channel only), need to create 2-channel (left and right) audio track for finished product. Help?

    The question says it all. I have been all over the tutorials as well as the menus inside Premiere 13 and cannot find how to edit the audio track beyond basic balance, volume, etc.
    I can see the Audio 1 track, shows audio in left channel only, but it will not respond to attempts to select, cut/copy, paste, etc.
    Basically I just want to turn one-channel audio into two-channel audio.

    25424...
    Sure you do not want to give the Fill Left and Fill Right another try?
    According to the Adobe document Adobe Premiere Elements Help | Effects reference
    Fill Left, Fill Right
    The Fill Left effect duplicates the left channel information of the audio clip and places it in the right channel, discarding the original clip’s right channel information. The Fill Right effect duplicates the right channel information and places it in the left channel, discarding the existing left channel information. For example, you might use this effect on footage shot with a monaural microphone plugged into only one channel of a camcorder, extending the voice of a speaker from one channel to both.
    From what you wrote, your Premiere Pro video seems to be saying the same.
    If that Premiere Elements Fill Left or Fill Right is no go, you might want to explore what you can do in this regard using the free audio editor Audacity.
    Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder
    And, then import the Audacity edited audio back into Premiere Elements project as source media.
    Is the speaker system OK?
    We will be watching for your results.
    Thanks for the follow up.

  • How can I combine Left and Right audio?

    Hi,
    When I record video, one lapel mic records to the left channel and the other records to the right channel in one audio track. I can't seem to figure out how to combine them within Premiere Pro (I've already attempted searching the forums for more info). I know in Sony Vegas you can right click the single audio track and select "Combine" and it will combine the 2 channels so that when people watch the end product you have both voices coming out of both speakers.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kelly G.

    Hello,
    Yes i have the same issue.
    I use the duplicate Audio track and fill left and right all the time.
    when i am doing Interview videos i usually have one person on channel 1 and the other on channel 2 and it comes out as L and R in Premiere.
    Today i was shooting with myself on Channel 2 and a shotgun for some ambient sound on channel 1.
    In Vegas or FCP 7 there is a simple effect to drag and drop called " Combine" that nicely combines the L and R channels each into stereo.
    I used to use it quite a bit and think it would be a great addition to Premiere Pro.
    So i am wondering several years since this was first post if Premiere does in fact now have this option...and where it might be that i over looked it?
    If not.....is there an easier way to do this than the fill left and right method?
    Thanks so Much!
    Mark
