APE4 Title and Text Animation

I am trying to animate some multi line titles. I found that the animation, Scalein, only works on a single line of text. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong. The animation worked on a singel line but not on a multi line title.

For working with multiple lines of text and animation, you can create several Titles, each with one line of text. These would be stacked above any footage on higher Video Tracks (VT's). Each single line can then be animated with the same, or different Effects.
Depending on what one needs and wants, another way would be to do the Title with a block (multiple lines) of text, and then Keyframe, say Motion>Position for that Title. An example would be to have the Title begin off-screen and then "move" into the scene from the right, with Moton>Position Keyframes, hold for a period of time, then move out of the screen left, again with Motion>Position Keyframes. You will probably have to grab the right side of the Title and drag it to get the desired Duration.

Report Title and Text Area issue when exported to pdf using Viewer

Hi there,
We are using OracleBI Discoverer Version 10.1.2.55.26
We have reports that displays Report title containing the following
- Report Title
- Runt Date and Time
- Page No
And text area which displays 'Last Page'
Following properties are set at the worksheet level using page setup
Report Title --> 'Print on every Page'
Text Area --> 'Print on last page'
The report when exported to PDF using Discoverer plus works fine and displays report title and text area as defeined.
But when we try to export the same report to pdf from Discoverer viewer, it displays
- Report title on first page only.
- text area on all pages
All our users accesses report using discoverer viewer so we cannot open discoverer plus to them.
Is there a solution which will enable us to export the report in pdf using discoverer viewer and displays the same output as discoverer plus.

Well, if typographic objects are colour managed, the colour appearance is dependent on the source ICC profile that describes the colourants in the typographic objects and the destination ICC profile that describes the colours the display is able to form and the RBC colourant combinations that will form those colours.
In general, typographic objects should have special treatment, since the expectation is not that typographic objects should be colour managed, but that typographic objects should simple be set to the maximum density of dark. On a display, that is R=0 G=0 B=0 and on a seperations device (a lithographic press) that is C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100.
If for some reason typographic objects are colour managed, and if the ICC profiles for the displays are off by half a mile or more in relation to the actual state of the display system, then the colours will not be the same. On the other hand, if those displays are calibrated and characterized, then the colourants will be converted to form the same colours on the displays.

Im changing a select-screen generated in a LDB program but when i add my select-screen cant see its titles and text elements. Need help please....

     - Se38
     - Inform report name
     - goto -> Text elements - > Selection Texts
Please, be ensure that this object is active in the system and check it there is texts or Dictionary ref flag is set.

Broadcast/SD Titles and Text: Workflow

I'm curious what, when doing Broadcast Titles and Text, is your workflow.
Do you exclusively make slates in Illustrator etc.? Do they look significantly better and function better for Broadcast product than making same in LIveType or Motion. Is there a big quality advantage in Vector based Titles/Text
Do you make any of your Titles/Text in LiveType or Motion.
Is there another workflow for high quality Titles/Text you would recommend?

I've used both LiveType and Motion for titling some very large QuickTime files (1440 x 900 @ 25fps) and the quality is perfect. As high a quality as you could ask for.
I can understand the rationale for saying that Illustrator would give better results that PhotoShop (vector vs. raster), but if you're working with the native LiveType file in FCP you're still in a vector environment (at least I think so - anyone care to comment?).
It's the same argument for using vector-based files rather than pixel based ones for DTP applications that are going to be printed by a commercial printer: The printer's RIP rasterises the file just once at the correct imaging resolution.
To my mind, a vector is a vector: I can't see how Illustrator can give you 'better' vectors than LiveType or Motion - if you're using FCP to 'RIP' either of the original files to pixels, that is. Perhaps using a 3rd party rendering engine would give you better quality, in the same way that different PostScript RIPs give better quality than others.
Maybe that's the reason why some people use Illustrator - as the non-FCP RIP can't handle native LiveType/Motion files?

How do I set a default title and text style on Quick?

On Adobe Premiere Essentials 13 video editing, if I use Quick is it possible to set a default style for titles and text? I see instructions for setting a default style in Expert, but that doesn't seem to work in Quick. Thanks.

What is this Premiere Elements Essentials 13? I know the program only as Adobe Premiere Elements 13 for Windows or Adobe Premiere Elements 13 for Mac. On what computer operating system is it running and is it a pre-installed program from the computer manufacturer?
So, if you have some modified version of Premiere Elements 13 Windows or Mac, I cannot give you a yes or no answer to
if I use Quick is it possible to set a default style for titles and text?
In Adobe Premiere Elements 13 Windows (assumed Mac also), there should be no problem in creating a text title in the Quick workspace and saving a particular text style and setting that created text style to the default. Are you OK with doing that in the Expert workspace if not the Quick workspace?

Shared Actions and Text Animations

I seem to have lost my text animation when I saved my advanced action as a shared action. I am using CP8. It seems like I read something about that, but I have read so much online, I just can't remember where I saw it.
Do text animations not transfer to shared actions? If so, is there something I can do to recreate it?

Why can't I get my jpgs and text animation to display properly

Using the timeline, I specified the times that the 4 jpgs are to appear. I also added text animation. When I preview the individual slide, all works well. When I preview several slides in the browser, or publish as a swf, some of my jpgs fail to appear at all, or look washed out, and many of my text animations fail to appear fully. Can anyone help me with this?

Are any of the following objects on the slide?
Button
Click Box
Text Entry Box
If so, these objects automatically pause the slide until they have been dealt with. You need to check the pause point.

UITableView each cell has image, title and text

Hi, I have a UITableView and right now each cell has an image and a text. I would like to change the layout a little bit.
For each cell, on the left you have an image. On the right, the top portion has Title which is in large fonts and bottom portion has text which is in smaller fonts. Does UITableView already support it or I have to write my code to customize it?

You need to configure a custom cell, either in code or in IB using a subclass of UITableViewCell. There are excellent, well explained examples of both techniques in Chapter 8 of Mark & LaMarche (and based on many of your questions, I think a few hours with that book would save you months of looking for free sample code). However there's also a good discussion with sample code in the +Table View Programming Guide for iPhone OS+ under Customizing Cells.

Po Mail Title and texts

Can you please suggest if it is possible to change mail title for a amended PO as 'Purchase Order Amendment' whenever a change is done to PO and then the output message is reprocessed?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Blurry Titles and text on HD 6.0!!!

hello everyone, I just got my new 12' powerbook and its my first mac ever... and I LOVE IT!!! I have no idea why I have been using pc all my life, macs are so much better!
anyways, onto the PROBLEM... I have the new ilife '06 and I have installed imovie HD 6 but when I try to add a title onto black (and I havent tried on clips) it turns out very fuzzy and very unprofesional... when I preview it, it looks great, but not when I add it to my timeline... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

It's not a problem, it's an intention. You would need a quad g5 top of the line to run the video in full resolution in real time! Too much data, so they arteficially reduced the resolution in iMovie for us to be able to happily edit our movies on slower machines. Your final DVDs will look just fine, believe me, they simply will. Same with other codecs in .mov files for QT playback. If you choose any codec and the highest possible quality, you will get almost sharp titles. But not in iMovie itself. I personally have set up the lowest preview quality in iMovie, because I prefer application speed ahead of viewing quality. I rather look at fuzzy than jerky subtitles. But again, everyone has different opinion. The end product is what counts anyway, right?

Adobe Captivate 4 - Flash Movie with Text Animation

I'm working on a project which has a slide which includes a Flash Video.
I'd like to put a Text caption over the video.
I've tried Text Caption and Text Animation.
Neither of these work......
Please let me know if there is some way to do this which I haven't considered or I need to adjust my settings.

Unfortunately, that is not an option. I work for a state government and the computers are locked down for security reasons. Updates are handled by an IT group and pushed out to all state computers. We were running Flash Player 10 and everything worked fine until the Flash Player Update was pushed out as a Microsoft Update on January 8th. There have been subsequent "Security Updates" to the Flash Player pushed out via Microsoft and none have corrected the problem. Even if I could uninstall the current Flash Player and install an older version, it would just be updated to the current Flash Player tonight.

Its seem text animator has different codes for accessing different properties.
I've searched on the Adobe scripting guide and couldn't find the exact code for the property (e.g. ADBE Text Position 3D ).
It would be much appreciated If anyone could recommend a scripting book for After Effects.

PE7 - Title text animation

When creating a title, you can choose to apply one of several text animations, e.g. fade, pan and zoom, etc. You simply select the text you want to animate, then choose an animation from the edit panel and click apply. My question is, when you later come back to edit that title, how can you tell which animation is applied? The animation does not seem to highlight. Similarly, the text style does not highlight, although you can tell which font and point and other characteristics are applied to selected text by looking at the text options.
The "Fade out by line" animation seems to be similar to just clicking the "Fade out" button in the opacity properties of the title (if all there is in the title is text), but no key frames are created, or at least they are not visible anywhere that I can find. There does not seem to be any way to edit the properties of one of these "canned" animations. Is this right, or am I missing something?

There is no straightforward location in the UI from where you can find out which animated title or which Style has been applied to a title. The Remove button in the animation panel gets highlighted only once we have applied an animation, so a user can find out wether any animation has been applied or not but cannot decipher which animation has been applied to a text.
I normally apply the nimation and click preview to see the end result, and If I like it, I keep it that way.

Premiere Elements 11 Titles - Can text kearning and leading be adjusted?

Just migrated to Premiere Elements 11 (from PE 10) and love the new interface and snappy performance. However, when making simple titles (using Text menu, New Text option) I can't find a way to adjust text leading (space between lines) and kearning (space between letters). In PE 10 these were available as explicit "buttons". I'm sure that the developers didn't drop this feature. Does anyone know how to find it?

This is an older thread going back to May 2013 so I am not sure how soon Susan Verner will see your question on what she said was her workaround for this text matter.
But, when she says "...(this is also a workaround for text animation on multi-line titles....", then she must be talking about what I described in my blog post under the header of
"Applying Text Animation to 2 or more lines of text per Title (in this example 3 lines)"
With this technique and the example that I wrote about, there were 3 lines of text all within the same Title file, not 3 lines of text each with its own Title file.

They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.
