Aperture 1.5.3 fails to install: you have to install 1.0 first

Hello!
I downloaded 1.5.3 today from apple's website and wanted to install it onto my MacBook. However, the installer complains that there is no 1.0 installed on my system. I removed all Aperture stuff from /Library/Receipts and did a clean install of 1.5.2 from the cd. I then started the installer again, but it is still complaining about no version 1.0 being installed on my system. Any idea on how I can make the Installer do what he is supposed to do?

i downloaded Aperture 1.5.3 as a "Download Only" and it would not install by double clicking on the Package (Aperture 1.5.3Update.pkg) in the system Library. for some reason it will only install via Software Update... "Install"

  • Error msg when I compact: The folder 'Inbox' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify you have enough disk space, and have write privileg

    I recently had my computer serviced. I re-downloaded Thunderbird (getting a newer version), and retrieved my saved email. Now, Thunderbird keeps asking me to compact, but when I do, I get this error message:
    The folder 'Inbox' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again.
    Obviously, since I'm getting mail all the time, I have write privileges, and disk space. The question is whether there's a setting I need to specify, or whether Thunderbird is writing to a special partition that may have gotten write-protected when my computer was in the hospital - or whether this is related to a known bug.
    All help appreciated.

    The only know bug I can see is probably your anti virus is trying to scan the file when the new inbox is created leaving Thunderbird to think the file was not created.
    As an experimental / diagnostic process. Restart the machine in safe mode with networking using Microsoft instructions for [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7] then try the compact. If it works I was most likely right. If it does not, another idea must surface.

    Connect the iPad to your computer with the supplied connecter and launch iTunes (if it does not start automatically) then follow the prompts in iTunes. Read the support article first.

  • Muse CC fails to install

    Hi guys,
    I'm reposting it as no one found a solution to my post...
    I'm getting the error trying to install Muse CC on Windows.
    Using Adobe Cleaner Tool, as in other posts people recommend, doesn't help as Muse doesn't appear on the list of applications to remove (as it fails to install in the first place).
    Reinstalling Creative Cloud desktop application didn't help either.
    Creating Admin accountdidn't work either...
    I'm on Windows 7.
    Any suggestions? I'm at my wits' end...

  • What does the message "You have exceeded your license" mean? I cannot open aperture on my computer

    I installed aperture on my lap top. I now tried to install it on my Mac Pro. I got a message saying I have exceeded my license, but it let me install anyway. Now there is a grey circle with a line thru the app icon and I cannot open. Can someone help me?

    We have the boxed version
    The licence for the boxed version allows two installations, one on a Desktop Mac and one on a portable Mac.
    But when you install the boxed retail version on a Mavericks system and update it to Aperture 3.5.1, your licence for the retail version will be converted to a licence from the App Store and tied to your Apple ID. After that, your retail version registration key is no longer valid.
    You have to download Aperture from the App Store and use the AppleID, you used when you updated Aperture to 3.5.1.
    Do you have updated Aperture to 3.5.1 on one of your Macs?  Then delete the crossed-our Aperture on your MacPro and launch the AppStore. Sign in with the same AppleID you used on your laptop. Open the "Purchased" tab and look for Aperture. Is it there and is the "Install" button available?

  • IOS 5.1 + iTunes 10.6.1 = can not sync multiple albums. Try and confirm you have the problem...

    Hi, guys!
    So, I've just found out that I can not properly put my music on both iPhone 4S and iPad (iOS 5.1).
    PLEASE, try do the following and place the result here whether you see same behavior.
    Steps:
    1. Enable Manual sync on you iOS device;
    2. Drag and Drop any album from your library to iPhone -> songs start to transfer;
    3. Now, while songs are transfering get another album and drop it to your iPhone;
    4. ISSUE IS THAT: you should notice that the transfer of the first album is interrupted and the latest album is transferring ONLY;
    So, at the end you have just several songs from first album and all songs from the second one. So, basically each new album you drag and drop interrupts previous transfer...
    I see this behavior on both my devices and on two different Macs... Weird.
    DO YOU SEE THE SAME?
    God bless you.

    You're not alone. I'm having the same problem. You might also want to check this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3813117?start=0&tstart=0
    There's no solution yet, but you're not the only experiecing this issue.

    Itunes wont open and when re-installed received this msg: Service Apple mob device failed to start.  You have insufficent privileges to start system svc.  Help?

    Download Itunes from Apple.com, not from within Itunes.
    Redo the install, following the below procedure.   However, when you re-install Itunes,  right click and run the install as administrator.   For Win 7, you have to hold down the cntrl and shift keys when you right click and then "run as administrator" will be an option.
    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Vista, Win 7 & later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
    Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • I tried to update itunes it corrupted the previous version, I'm trying to install new copy get this message "service apple mobile device (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privleges to start system services." Help!

    Not sure what to do.  I've tried a system restore on my computer after the update in hopes of undoing the problem, that didn't work.  I've tried to install, the new version of itunes for over two days now and I get to the point where it says "starting services" and it almost get's done and then it gives me that message " Service apple mobile device (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privledges to start system services."  Then it gives me three options to click on "abort", "retry" or "ignore".  I've tried to retry over and over and it does no good, I just get the same message.  I've tried ignore and the one time it did finish installing itunes, it didn't work, I got error messages telling me that it failed to download properly and I needed to delete the program and download it again.  I thought maybe it had something to do with my ipod not being pluged into the computer so I pluged that it and it's still giving me the same message.  I just don't know what to do.  I'm very frustrated and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.  I'm completely out of ideas.

    My iTunes stopped working at this time.  I thought I could delete iTunes and start over. This tactic did not work.
    Can anyone make sense of what I am saying and help me to get my iTunes back again?

    Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.
    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
    The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • HT1349 Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

    Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
    iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?
