Aperture 2.0 - Many Pictures now Seeing RED in lighted areas and BLUE

Here's my problem, I just upgraded to Aperture 2.0 and many of my pictures now have bright lighted areas (like a light) showing up as RED in the viewer. I'm not sure if they will print this way, but I'm a bit concerned. I was able to go into the adjustments area and tweak "Recovery" up a notch to get rid of the red, but I have over 10,000 photos so I don't see this as a very useful solution. I also found areas of BLUE in black areas for photo, again a small adjustment to the black point removed this.
So I have a couple of questions:
1. Can someone explain to me these areas of RED and BLUE and why they would occur.
2. How do I fix this on my Library without distorting my photos.

You must have activated the "highlight hot and cold areas" function. No, you photos will not print with those highlights, and you can toggle them on and off either through the view menu (the option to turn on highlight hot and cold areas is near the bottom), or simply press option-shift-h.
This feature is great for recovering highlights and bringing out shadow detail using the recovery and black point sliders in the adjustments pane.

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I was using my iPad and then I locked it and now the screen wont light up and when I plug it into iTunes it doesn't show up under devices

I was using my iPad one morning looking at ebay, and then I locked it and came back and when I clicked the home button nothing happend. When I clicked the lock button nothing happened, when I plugged it into iTunes nothing happened and it didn't show uunder "Devices" on to side. Please help me I don't know how to fix this and it's been two days since it happened.

I would then try and do a hard reset like Fernando recomends if that doesnt work you might need to try a DFU Restore.

Red Camera Light when taking Video

Dear All,
            I know this has been discussed many times but I just want to check whether is there any way or nokia have any intention to solve this issue of having the red indicator light when taking video/picture.
             I do understand is for privacy issue and have no regards in shutting off simulated camera shutter tone when taking video and picture.
             However problems comes in when we try to take video/picture through windows and we see the red reflection light instead, and we are not able to capture our young children without them staring at the red light.
Do advice, im using a nokia 6710 navigator by the way

well, i got a 6120 classic- video camera is not the best in the world. what i have found- in during the day and just for more colorful photos it is better switch a Sunny mode. but every thing goes wrong with the video.
and during the night it is better not to shooy at all.
some people told me, that the panel of a phone and the transperent part of a camera is not of the best quality.
i even tried several programms for photo's quality development- no use.
the example of on my honda's board in the night- i guess the topic starter is talking about this effect. http://xcuber.com/photo/kiilo89/1/1 - this is an xcuber account- there are 4 photos in that album. except one all photos shooted at night with the light source.
can it be fixed somehow?

i unlocked a nokia 5230 from vodafone and now the red video light stays flashing and wont connect with my sim card and the screen keeps jumping

can't see how unlocking a phone would cause this.. are you sure it's not something else, like a running app ??

Not able to see all the subject areas with BI Author and BI Consumer roes

Hi All,
Recently we have upgraded to OBIEE 11G and we have created new users and assigned groups in the new 11G.
Generally users sholud be able to see all the dashboards and subject areas with the default BI Author and BI Consumer roles.
But in our 11G system users cannot see all the subject areas with the above groups, only if we give the BI Administrator role the they can see all the subject areas and dashboards.
We cannot give BI Administrator role to all the users....Please advise.

Aperture allows you to store your Images' Originals on any directly connected drive (must be formatted "Mac OS Extended, Journaled"), and gives you the option and the ability to move your Originals any time you want.
So get an external drive, format it correctly, select the Images whose Originals you want to move to that external drive, and move them using the command "File➞Relocate Originals".
An Image's Original must be on-line in order for you to be able to make adjustments, export, or print that Image. When the Original is off-line, you are still able to change the metadata, and view and share the Image's Preview.
If you are uncertain about the parts of Aperture, my User Tip is as good a place to start as I know .
Here is the topic as covered in the well-done Users Manual. Note that the User Manual uses the terms "Master" and "Original" synonymously, and that it confuses users by refering to referenced and managed _Images_. Image's are not, themselves, referenced or managed. The Original of each Image is a file (the one you imported); that file is the item that is either referenced or managed.

Aperture 3.5.1 undid any adjustment I brushed on many pictures

I am facing a major issue.
This morning went back to a two years old picture and I noticed it missed some adjustments, turns out all the Dodge and Burn I brushed on some elements of the picture are gone. They do still appear in the adjustments tab, they are selected and I can brush the same adjustment on the picture if I try to but the painting I did in the past is gone
I tried to restore my library from a couple of days ago and while the preview still has the adjustments (if I enlarge the picture it pops up with those dodge and burn adjustments) as soon as Aperture updates the preview, the images changes and loses the adjustments.
The problem is this does not applies on all my pictures, looks like only the older behave that way. Is there anything I can do to save those adjustments?

Ok here's what I discovered. The TIFFs in that subfolders are readable and many of them show actual brushing...some don't.
I found an all black TIFF with a very wide aspect ratio and I could instantly tell which picture it was referred to, it's one of those reporting the problem, the pixel resolution matches perfectly.
This picture had two separate "Intensify Contrast" masks applied. I tried to draw two symbols to see if one would show up in the file inside the 8 > 82 folder. It did not, instead they showed up in two other files
The blank file in 8 > 82 is not present in the backup library from 2 days ago. It almost looks like as Aperture forgot my adjustments for those pictures and then once I open up the picture in aperture he creates brand new tiffs because it can't find the references old ones...right?
I'll check this theory opening the picture in a copy of the backup library and seeing if Aperture creates the blank TIFF there too...
EDIT: There it goes, in a different folder but it did create it once I opened the pic in Aperture (it was not there before I checked)
Looks like a mess to me, I starting to think to move to a new library and copy the old pictures later once I get time...since the TIFFs with my old work are not here.

Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.

I have the same problem... but the photo library is neither on my iPhone or my Computer!! Please help.. its taking too much space.

Installed snow leopard and now all red colors look rusty orange.

All I did was install snow leopard on my mac pro and now all reds will shift to orange on one display and pink on my other. I've been using the exact same setup with just leopard and didn't have this problem so I am assuming it has definitely something to do with snow leopard. Anyone else have this problem? I've calibrated to the best of my abilities but it's still present. I can actually still see reds on say, a thumnail, but as soon as I enlarge the picture it will change color. I've looked on forums and have not found a solution.

Shooting data not transfering with many pictures

I am using iPhoto 6.0.6 on OS 10.6.6
I have noticed that shooting data is missing from many pictures. I can import pictures in to iphoto and some will have the shooting data while others do not. Some times the dates are not right as well, but for some of these I know I did not have the date function on my camera activated. With the shooting data what is really confusing is that while I do not see it in iphoto the same pictures viewed with Preview have the data. Some times I even have to pull dates and data viewable in Preview for the purpose of organizing my pictures in iPhoto. Why does preview read this information while iPhoto often does not.
My pictures I am downloading from a card reader on to my desktop and then using the iPhoto Import to Library function to get the folders and pictures I need in to my library.

if that it is the case, then you are not set to sync with outlook.
that's why you are not seeing the items you wanted to see transferred after the hotsync process.
your data is now transferred to the palm desktop software which is located in your desktop.
if you will open it, you can see your data in there.
to set it to outlook, try going to Start>Programs>Palm>PIM Conduit Sync>Sync with Outlook.
if that option is not there probably you are using the software from the CD.
load the CD again and it will show GUI window in which you have to option to select which application you want to manage your data, palm desktop or outlook.
you choose outlook, just follow the onscreen instructions then finish. once you are done, check the custom settings of the hotsync manager and check if it now has the word outlook on it. once it's there, you can perform another sync. just cross your fingers that you will not encounter OLERR errors when syncing because that's common to outlook synchchronization. there are are so many causes and it's very long if put in details.

Used my card reader to import images, now see "incompatible JPEG" on images in camera

I have a Canon Power Shot A720 and used the card reader to import photos into the organizer. Now when I go back to erase some images from the camera I see many, but not all, of my 'once' images blacked out with a grey/white box in the center & a yellow question mark. Under the box it says "incompatible JPEG". What does that mean? It's never happened to me before, but I usually import my images directly from the camera.

I'm not sure I understand your question since it's been a while since I had
trouble. When I had the trouble I was downloading from my camera and
storing them in the Organizer. My problem came when I edited those images
and RENAMED them. I guess the organizer didn't recognize the renamed
photos? Those were the images which had the yellow check mark. I now use a
card reader only, and I store them in 'Pictures' instead of the PSE
organizer. I haven't had any more problems. I think the Organizer, when
used properly, would be the best choice.....I just couldn't figure it out!
Frankly, I just didn't understand the Organizer and was used to my own
method for storage. I think that's what messed me up. I had help from a
computer technician to retrieve those images, and I haven't had any problems
since.
As for deleting images, I only delete images from my camera by using the
delete on my camera. I never, never delete from my card/camera by using the
prompt from my computer, like "do you want to delete these images from your
camera?"

Why are my photos taking up 6.2GB when I do not have that many pictures in my photos?

I'm trying to reduce my used storage. When I checked my storage it said that I had used 6.3GB in photos. I was very confused. So I clicked on it and it said that 6.2GB are being used by your photo library. Now I only have about 100 pictures and videos all together so I do not know what happen. However, I did just recently delete many, many pictures. It could be a glitch in the system. Whatever the case, I am every upset about this.

Most likely due to Time Machine snapshots made for each hour your computer is not connected to the backup drive. To prevent these in the future be sure to turn off Time Machine when you aren't connected to your backup drive.
These snapshots take up shadow space meaning if the system needs space and there isn't enough, then it will remove the number of snapshots needed to make space. So the space is not in technical use on the drive. But if you want all the space returned and turn off snapshots, then see:
Time Machine Snapshots
Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and enter or paste the appropriate command line. Press RETURN and enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed. Press RETURN again.
To turn them ON: sudo tmutil enablelocal
To turn them OFF: sudo tmutil disablelocal
Note that turning them OFF will also delete all existing snapshots.
