Aperture 2.1 not printing to Epson Color 880

After upgrading to 2.1, I am unable to print any photos to my Epson Stylus Color 880. I never had this problem with version 1. This is very frustrating. Can anyone help me?

I also have an R380 and was having the same problem. i downloaded the latest printer driver and now I can print; but the prints come out darker than the previews and I can't get them any lighter. I never had this problem with Aperture 1. This is the first Apple product that I've had this many problems with

    Thanks for the follow up.
Barbara Brundage in the Photoshop Elements Forum will probably have the answer to your Photoshop Elements Epson scanner issue. Look into that Twain driver. She will give you good input on all this.
Also, see your other thread about Adobe telephone contact information. I have posted in that other thread also.

  • Aperture 3.01 Not printing sharp

    Hi.
I have noticed that when I print from inside Aperture to my Canon MP990 (using Canon Photo Paper Pro II and the relevant Colour Profile), the pictures do not look as sharp as I would expect, based on what I see on the screen.
As I am a newly convert to Mac (and therefor not 100% sure what to expect really), I had a play with different paper/profile combinations, but was still not happy.
I then tried an "Edit With External Editor" (Photo Shop CS4, TIFF 8bit 300DPI). After the export to Photo Shop ALL I did was print (i.e. no sharpening or tweaking), using same paper/color profile as from within Aperture. I was amazed to see a perfect print. They are much sharper and look crisp, with perfect colours.
I understand there has been/still is some issues with the "print" functionality in Aperture, but I would like to know if anyone else has similar issues. At least I now know NOT to print directly from Aperture if I want crisp looking pictures
Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond.

Hello Ernie and thank you for your inputs.
    Using the Canon Printer Driver there is not as such a "Color Management OFF" function (that I am aware of). However to quote Canon Help;
    +"*For Mac OS X v.10.5.x*+
+When you want to print by using the color space (Adobe RGB or sRGB) of the image data effectively or _by specifying a printing ICC profile from your application software, select ColorSync_+."
    It goes on to say;
+" Select color correction - Select the item below that matches your purpose.+
    ColorSync
+You can print by using the color space (Adobe RGB or sRGB) of the image data effectively.+
+Depending on the application software, when a printing ICC profile is specified from that application software, Vendor Matching cannot be selected because ColorSync is selected automatically.+"
As far as I understand This is the same as "Color Management OFF", as it is managed by the application. By the way these settings are the same when printing from both applications.
Regarding Proofing Preview, I've set the profile to match the Printer Profile for the paper I use and then tried printing with and without the preview on.
    Cheers
    Henrik

  • Photoshop suddenly does not print to Epson 3880 - PROBLEM: Cannot print from Photoshop  After restart error message appears:  - "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopen

    PROBLEM: Cannot print from Photoshop
    After restart error message appears:
    — “There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.”
    • All print commands are greyed out and unavailable — even to call up the printer commands cannot be done.
The printer printed fine until about 2 weeks ago when this error message appeared.  Printing continues from Pages, I-photo, preview etc. —  only Photoshop fails.
The printer has been turned on and off, as have open documents been closed and open etc..   Preferences reset.  Repeatedly I have read through blogs and forums and attempted to contact Adobe — all without results
Epson support struggled to find reason and several solutions were tried and they assume this is an Adobe problem.
    Running Mac Powerbook X 10.10.2 / Photoshop CS6 13.0.6.x64
Attempting unsuccessfully to print to Epson 3880
What Adobe support will be of help.

  • Photosmart 8250 not printing in true colors

I replaced the Magenta ink cartridge on March 26, 2011.  Ever since I have been getting shades of magenta for my printing.  When I print an email with graphics on it the header information will print in black but the graphics will not print in the true colors.  I uninstalled the software and went to the HP web site to install the most update software.  But to no avail.  I also did a reset but that did not help.  Any suggestions on a solution will be appreciated.

  • PDF's not printing to Epson R1900

Posted problem awhile back. PDF would not print to my Epson R1900. Downloaded umpteen different drivers. I am on a G5 Intel Dual Core running OS 10.5.6 or 10.5.7 since yesterday. Adobe very little help, Epson likewise, although I talked to an Epson Tech for about 45 minutes one day.
Decided I had to fix this myself. When in the Print window Click on "Advanced", check mark "Print as Image". This enables printing the PDF.
Adobe has a note about this on their website now.

    Thank you!!!
I recently noticed that when using the Gutenberg drivers on my Epson Stylus Photo 380, it was shrinking the pages slightly.
So I decided to update the Epson drivers, and use them instead.
After updating, I could no longer print over my network. It was making my crazy. I tried everything that I could think of.
I saw your post & tried it. Perfect, worked like a charm!
    And such a simple solution.
    Thank you.

  • Photoshop not printing to Epson R2400 in Snow Leopard

    Hi there
I can print from Microsoft Word and Textpad fine. But Photoshop CS4 will not print anything to my Epson R2400. The job briefly appears in the queue, then disappears, with no error message.
When I try and Preview from inside the Epson Print dialogue, it just shows a blank page, so I'm pretty sure it's Photoshop that's at fault, as Previewing a similar job from Microsoft Word turns out fine.
Has anyone else had this error and found a way to fix it?

I've the exact same problem - though I'm using Lightroom 2.4 (64 bit) and Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac.
Printing from Textpad & Pages works fine - but every print from Lightroom and Photoshop Elements just disappears (like Monkeytennis2 described).
I've tried different drivers: the new 6.57 - and the older 6.12 (via Rosetta). The Gutenprint 5.2.3 works, but the quality is just miserable.
This is indeed a strange thing ... and I hope someone has an idea how to fix it.
EDIT: has anyone tried this http://forums.adobe.com/message/2215478 ... ?

  • Second page not printing on EPSON dot matrix

    Hi Experts,
I have created a Smart Form which has 2 pages. I am able to see the Print Preview correctly of 2 pages, (Spool also shows correctly),  but when I give the print on EPSON DOT MATRIX PRINTER, only one page is getting printed. Somewhere it seems that second page is getting overlapped on the first page. Its very strange behieveour. Dont know why its happening.
    Any ideas ??

I have done it. Well issue was:  \f command needs to be used when you create the custom page in the device type--->formats->your custom page----End of page.
In end of page simply write \f and printer will stop over writing the pages
    Thanks.

  • Photoshop elements 10 not printing to Epson Stylus 9800

I am running photoshop elements 10 on a windows 8 computer and trying to print to my Epson Stylus 9800 and everything is coming out almost black. I can print color graphics from the web perfectly but no luck with elements. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do to fix it?

    Did it ever work properly?
Do you have the latest drivers for the printer?
Try to print a test page from the printer itself to check that all colors show up.

  • Custom Print Size not printing to Epson 4900

I had Epson Support on the phone yesterday as I have been unable to print anything wider than 22 inches from Lightroom 5.7 . The custom page size is 17" by 30". The tech took over my computer, made sure all was set up correctly. The lightroom print module showed the proper dimensions and the tech hit print. The print came out resized at 22 inches. The tech then opened the same photo in Photoshop CS5, set up a custom paper size to 17 by 30 and hit print. The print preview showed the proper dimensions and he sent it to the printer. The print came out perfectly at 17x 30. He had no explanation but said it had to be a lightroom problem and not a problem with the 4900
All firmware and software updates have been downloaded to the printer. The computer is a IMac Intel running the latest OS. Does anyone have any ideas why the custom size will print properly from Photoshop, but not from Lightroom
    Thanks in advance

I asked you a question in the Beginners forum. It usually isn't a good idea to post in more than one forum.

  • Adobe Reader will not print to Epson WF-2540 in Mac OSX 10.8.3

I have previously used Adobe Reader to print in both wired and wireless capacity to my Epson WF-2540 printer on my Mac OSX. My current version is Mac OSX 10.8.3. Recently (and it may have been following an update to my OS, I don't know for sure) the printing process hangs on "Looking for Printer." No error message is given, but the printing never commences. All other programs (e.g., Preview, Firefox, Safari) print normally to the printer. Any thoughts are appreciated!

    Hi,
Have you tried installing the drivers below?
    http://onlinesupport.fujixerox.com/processDriverForm.do?ctry_code=SG&lang_code=e n&d_lang=en&corp_pid=DCC240&rts=null&model=Document+Centre+C240&type_id=2&oslist =Mac+OS+X+10.8&lang_list=en
Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not too familier with Fuji Xerox products but I assume this is the same model?

  • PS CC will not print to Epson 7900

Never had this problem, contacted Epson and was told to print out of other program like Preview. It worked! Why is PS CC suddenly causing this problem with my printer.

Epson wants you to buy a third party driver, which works fine under OSX with CS6 and CC. Epson has stopped developing their own print suit for PS in favour of that third party tool that actually uses their engine. That third-party tool is nothing more than a printer driver how it is supposed to be, Epson even bundles it with some of the printers now. I think its a rip-off: 1. Its expensive. 2. It uses Epsons own print engine. 3. Its not a real mac program its a wine emulation 4. its does not do anything really special.
If you put a single setting of the about 100 settings wrong, it won't print. Further it will not enlighten you with a useful error message, it will just not work.
So Epson leaves us with a barely usable driver (one setting of 100 wrong and it won't print) ... However the Question to Adobe has to be: Why is this dodgy Epson print driver working with CC (if you got all 100 settings right (paper width, borderless, banner....) and not with CS6 and CC 2014 (it cuts up without print).
