Aperture 2 Color Profiling....please help

I have a MBP and aperture...I did the following setup
1) Calibrated my Monitor with a spyder (used gamma2.2 and neutral)
I doubled on this website that the calibration is ok

2) on Aperture 2, I post processed my RAW file (5DmarkII) and I made sure that onscreen
proofing is checked and the proofing profile is sRGB-IEC61996-2.1
3) After I am done, I noticed that when I export the photos (using sRGB), some color are slightly different than what I see on Aperture for example a slighty satured blue turned a little purplelish
Any ideas how to have those colors in sync ?? Am i doing something wrong

you may have already explored this:
What is your export color profile? It could be different than your onscreen which could explain this issue you are having.

It seems to be the SET_SERIE_COLOR() method added to the FormsGraph revised version, but this latest version is momentarily not available for download.
I think there is an existant open thread on this. Maybe you could find it using the Forum Search box.

Cant edit profile-please help

i cant seem to be able to edit any of the profile.. when i go to profile-advanced-normal- it freeezes and i have 2 restore my fone.. and when i restard it i get a message saying
blackberry problem Uncaught exception:application net_rim_bb_profiles_app(192) is not responding,process terminated
i am able to change profiles but is stuck on silent. for example when i change from vibrate to normal its still quiet and no notifications..
please help.

Can't uninstall Aperture to upgrade - please help

Been trying to figure out how to upgrade to Aperture full licence for a week.
On load of trial it asks you to selct the 'mode' - i.e.: Continue Trial, Enter licence Key or 'Buy' a licence.
When you click on the "buy" you go to AppStore - but then you cannot buy a licence as you need to install the software and the application reports an error that the 'software is already installed'
Trying to uninstall the software I discover that in Lion you must use the LaunchPad to do this: instructions below from "help"
Uninstall apps
To uninstall apps you purchased from the Mac App Store, hold down an app’s icon in Launchpad until all the icons begin to wiggle. Click an app’s delete button (x) to uninstall the app.If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, that app can’t be uninstalled.
To uninstall other apps, drag the app to the Trash (the Trash is located at the end of the Dock), and then choose Finder > Empty Trash.If you change your mind, before emptying the Trash, select the app in the Trash, and then choose File > Put Back.WARNING: When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your computer. If you have any files that you created with the app, you may not be able to open them."
However Aperture fits into the type "Cannot be uninstalled" highlighted in red above.
I am concerned that if I use a third party uninstaller I may lose application data....... Please help!!
P.S. Can you 'back up/save/ output etc the system settings for an application so as to not lose them on a reinstall??

I see from your signature you are using Mac OS 10.7.2 Lion.
Under Lion the Applications Folder is protected, and dragging from this folder simply creates Aliases on the Desktop. To delete an Application I found it easier to select the application and to use Command-delete. Then you will be prompted for your administrator password an can remove the application.

The setting, and all your Aperture presets, are stored in your user library, in the preferences folder and the Application Support folder. These will not be affected by moving the Aperture Application to the trash. Aperture will use the same settings when you relaunch it after the upgrade to the full version.

Very strange color phenomenon - Please help!

I just got a new iMac and moved all my software and files via firewire account transfer from my Mac Book to the new Mac. Everything works well, as expected, but when I open my Domain.sites2 File (I have iWeb08) on the iMac, a strange color phenomenon occurs: Identical colors specified for page background and placed shapes on the background look differently in iWeb, but when published, they look the same.
When I open the identical file on my Mac Book, the colors look the same (and publish the same of course). I've tried deleting the color shapes and creating them new, changing background color back and forth, but still: a color applied to the background of a page and a shape ontop of that page looks dramatically different. A purple looks intensive in the background, that same purple applied to a shape looks a lot mor pastell-ish and light, almost as if the color was converted to cmyk when applied to the shape, and left in vibrant RGB in the background.
Now this means that on the iMac in iWeb I cannot edit my site any more. I don't see what I do. If I make the colors for page background and shapes look identical in iWeb (or even specify identical color values), and publish, they look differently in the browser (I checked in multiple browsers).
I checked everthing for hidden transparency or cmyc conversion options that might be accidentally selected but can't find anything. I changed my monitor color settings, but that doesn't seem to be it, either.
What is happening to the color and why do colors on shapes look different than color in the background? Help. What am I doing wrong?

Could be that monitor gamma, when calibrating the monitor, is different on old and new system.
Not that it should matter, but both browsers and iWEB handles colors in strange ways and sometimes use the Monitor color profile instead of for instance the sRGB color profile.

Aperture color profile

I went to Dallas Blooms, a seasonal display of magnificence. Tulips and flowers abound everywhere. Just amazing. Took lots of pictures with two cameras.
I am really disappointed. When I go to view them the first time in Aperture, there is this brief moment they look normal. Normal saturation primarily. Then it blinks quickly and reappears with oversaturations of colors, especially red.
Any idea what is happening? Is it applying some kind of automated color profile? The colors are so dramatic and overblown I'm having to retouch every picture by desaturating colors, especially reds.

I'm still having this problem. I've scanned in 800 older photos. I have to lower the red in almost every photo. I recently went to Fort Worth botanical gardens. Reds are again way oversaturated. There is this brief moment where I can see the colors all look natural and balanced overall. Then Aperture is overlaying some kind of color profile (maybe?) that causes all the colors to slightly oversaturate, especially reds.
I'm using TIFF files for the scanned pics, combination of RAW and jpegs for the botanical pics. I didn't have this problem until maybe the last 12 months or less. I'm thinking there was some kind of upgrade to Ap3 and I noticed it after that.
I'm still using my 17" MBP and thunderbolt display.
Has anyone else had this problem and any idea how to fix this?

It seems that the problem related to the connection object , but I'm not sure about it.
The connection was created in 2 different ways , neither of them worked.

My question is not about the latency but about AvgThroughput which shows wrong numbers each time i reconnect to thr server .
The numbers get smaller each time i reconnect ( I described it in my previuos post ).
My questions are very simple :
*1. How to add a profile via api ? ( DiagnosticProfile )*
*2.How to get DataAggregationMBean ?*
*3. How to get DataServiceFactoryMBean 'and then use it to add profile?*
PLEASE , I JUST WANT A GOOD EXAMPLE OF DOING THOSE THINGS !!!
If there is no answer to those, just tell me , because it's been to much time trying to figure it out.
Having my code , and asking why do I need this , does not contribute to my quetions ..
I'm sure you ( the oracle company team ) wants to help , but the mosy helpfull help is via GOOD examples.

New To Aperture - CROP, RESIZE, PLEASE HELP!

To be clear - I am not a pro!
Ok, I just bought Aperture. I have only used Photoshop in the past. I have been watching tutorials but I simply can not understand or figure a few things out.
First of all, in Photoshop I can go to image size and see the resolution of the photo and the image dimensions in inches. Can I do this in Aperture?
Next, lets say I want to take a large photo and crop it to 5 inches by 7 inches to make a print. I know how to do this in Photoshop. I can set the crop tool to crop to 5"x7" and I know how to get a good quality 5x7 print at the best resolution.
But how in the world do I do this in Aperture?
How do I know the dimension in inches of the master photo and how do I crop to a specific size in inches? (I only see pixels) Is there a measurement for pixels that would equate to a 5"x7" photo? & How do I know I am getting the best quality for printing.
I know I must be totally misunderstanding the way Aperture handles these things. But I am totally confused! Can someone please tell me how to do this in Aperture and how it compares to Photoshop?

Thanks Tony, that helps, and I still have some questions...
I do see now in the export window that I can set up the photo to be exported at a specific DPI and a specific size in inches.
1) When I crop, how do I know I have not used too small a portion of the original image. For example, let's say I want to crop a photo to make an 8x10 inch print. In Photoshop, when I go to the "image size" window, I can easily see if I have used the 8x10 ratio cropping tool but I have actually cropped down to a 6x8 inch image. I now know that I will lose quality in printing. But how do I know this in Aperture?
2) As I said, I see how I can set up the size of the image to be exported. But how do I set up the image for printing at best quality? Again, if I go into the printing window and set up the paper size and layout options to 8x10 inches, how do I know I am not taking a smaller image and "blowing it up" to a larger size and losing quality in printing?
I hope I have been clear in my questions and thanks to anyone who can help!

Color issues - please help

i have a photosmart c6280. i've had it since early september. i am very very disappointed with it. the picture quality is terrible. with the setting at maximum, it's even worse than when set at automatic. the printouts are very washed out, with blotches on them. i cannot find any information on how to correct this issue. i am very very unhappy.

What are you printing? What paper type are you using? What driver settings? If you are printing on photo paper but have the printer set for plain paper the results will be poor. Also, if you are using some form of glossy media such as photo media make sure it is made for inkjet use. Some photo papers are compatible with inkjet inks, others are not.

I can't stream photos from iPhone to mac after changing my iCloud profile, please help

After changing my email adress, thus icloud profile, my photos taken from my iphone won't stream to iphoto. Before the change everything was running smooth. I change my settings in both my mac and my iphone, and wifi is on just in case, please hep

Removal of set areas & color consistancy-please help!!!

I am trying to make a very simple website with similar layouts for each page -but can't get rid of the set squares etc -the colors are different in each box & I can't get rid of the white outline.....
anyone able to help me??

Render Issues in Color! Please help!

I have just graded a music video. Everything imported from FCP to Coor fine. Haaving completed the grade, i am in the process of rendering. I have encountered a problem.
A select few of the clips are rendering as the entire source file, as opposed to the individual cut that i exported from FCP into and graded in color! the strange thing is that other cuts, from the exact same source file, are rendering as they should do.
Any ideas as to why this may be....i filmed on RED and some of my clips are 5 mins long which is really slowing things down!

Depending on the version of COLOR, prior to 1.5, clips with speed changes would prompt the application to render the entire source clip. This is the cause 90% of the time. If this is the case, you may have a problem as the usual fix is to render out an independent clip and reconform it into the timeline. If you do this, you may not render the item back to Redcode and you will lose the REDtab in the COLOR Primary In Room.
