Aperture 2 Crashes when attempting to launch software.
When attempting to launch Aperture 2, I get a message saying the software quit unexpectedly, and then is asked whether I want to fix the permissions or rebuilding the library. Which of these to options should I choose?

Acrobat 9.0 crashes when attempting to launch
I just loaded Acrobat 9.0, ran the updater and believe I am at ver 9.3x. When I attempt to launch Acrobat, it crashes each and every time.
I am using Apple OS 10.6.2 on a MacPro with 8GB of ram. The user type is a managed user.
Any ideas?I have spent the better part of today rebuilding my system in a few different way to see if I could get Acrobat CS 4 to work. Unfortunately, I was NOT successful.
Attached is the error code.

Any ideas? -
Has anyone else run into this? It's driving me nuts.
Many months ago I had Aperture move my referenced photos to a larger external hard drive. I just discovered recently that there's a small handful of images that it still thinks are on the old hard drive (even though it successfully moved the original files to the new hard drive, oddly). The full sized previews and all the meta data are still there in Aperture but it regards the photos as offline.
So I select a few (<10) of the affected images, select the "Locate referenced files" option in the File menu, to get the "Referenced files in selection" window. I click on the new hard drive name in the lower panel and Aperture instantly displays the same photo on the new hard drive. I can arrow down through the ten or so images in the top panel and Aperture instantly displays all of them on the external hard drive.
So I press "Reconnect all" and Wham! Aperture crashes. Consistently.
It sometimes works with a single image, but not yet more than once before it crashes.
Aperture has also been driving my nuts with the spinning ball since Mountain Lion and the latest update. (My hardware may be getting a bit out of date for this now, although it was working fine before--it's the fastest late 2009 13" MacBook Pro with 8 GB of RAM.) I've already tried repairing the library (Aperture forces me to do this after a about three of the abovecrashes). I've rebuilt the whole library (twice now). I've deleted the Aperture preferences and relaunched. I've deleted the Aperture application and reinstalled it from the AppStore.
Any ideas on what I can try next? Thanks!

# Question
Firefox crashes and when attempting to launch after the crash it won't launch; throwing an error msg that " js.3250 can't be found" - but same file is in Mozilla directory.
I must then download new 3.6.8 and lose all tabs and history.I have a similar problem. Recently my FF8 has been crashing a lot. It regularly locks up an entire core of my PC and often just shuts down. It has just done it a moment ago and when it started back up it did the whole "this is embarrassing" thing and asked me if I wanted to reload my tabs. I deselected the one that I was trying to view as I suspected that it may have been the cause (unlikely; it was node4.co.uk) but anyway, let's skip it just in case. Click on the button to restore and up pops my homepage only. So all of my other tabs, which I was using for work incidentally, are gone.
This is not the first time this has happened on FF8. It happened a lot recently on FF6 I think it was (so hard to keep track now, Mozilla) and I switched to Chrome as a result, but it turns out that it crashes even more than FF6 did. FF7 was a vast improvement but FF8 is so unstable/unpredictable for me at the moment that I think I'd rather use IE9 than this. It's driving me mental, clearly! I wish I could kill the process manually and have it retry restoring tabs. Hey, there's an idea Mozilla; give us a menu item that allows us to restore the session to how it started to try again or at the very least get a list of the pages we were looking at. They don't show up in Recently Closed Windows and the Restore Previous Session is greyed out too. Gah! Help! -
Acrobat 9.4.4 Pro Crashes When Attempting to Open PDF Form
OS: Win XP Pro SP3
The machine worked fine until Acrobat updated itself to 9.4.4 then the problem started. Crashes when attempting to open most PDF Forms - even when freshly rebooted or repaired. I originally thought it was related to a browser or Outlook 2007, but later found that it does it under all circumstances. It is my General Manager's machine having the problem, so I need to get this resolved ASAP. Your experience and assistance is much appreciated.
My temporary fix was to uninstall 9.4.4 - Install 9.0 and turn off automatic updates - worked beautifully. It would be nice to get to the bottom of this so we can update our CS4 products.
Another user reported this problem on May 16, 2011 and no one has replied to his post.
Thanks in advance. Please repost in the Acrobat Windows forum.

Lightroom 6 crashes when attempting to import from camera.
Never had a problem importing from same camera using LR 5.7. LR 6 crashes when attempting to import from camera.
Actually I have found out that it's not related to importing, but to face recognition being turned on (which I had just done shortly before I started the import).

Error 102 when attempting to run software update
I am getting an Error 102 'error occurred while downloading the updates' message when attempting to run software update.
I've already cleared the cache, rebooted the machine, etc. with no luck.
I'm apparently stuck on V10.8 and cannot update software beyond that point.
Any other ideas?

Adobe Standard 9.1.0 crashes when attempting create .pdf from scanner
Adobe Standard 9.1.0 crashes when attempting "create .pdf from scanner" from a Kyocera Mita KM-2550 using the twain driver. The error encountered is 0xc0000005 at address 0x0000000002d78e70. I have downloaded and installed the latest updates. This is happening on two new PCs with the same configuration. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?
Spent quite a while on this one.. My problem was related to twain drivers which reside in c:\windows\twain_32. I'm running windows 7 64-bit. First it's usually possible to scan in windows 7 maybe vista and from adobe without even using twain (using WIA). So try renaming the twain_32 folder to _twain_32 and see what happens... If that stops the crashing look at the contents of the twain folder. I had a Dell folder for some printer I wasn't even using. That was causing the crash. I removed the dell folder and renamed the twain folder back to twain_32. Now everything works as designed.

ITunes crashes when attempting to play purchased tracks
Hoping someone can help me here. iTunes crashes when attempting to play tracks purchased from the iTunes store. Music imported from CDs still plays fine. They have played preiously but not since downloading and installing 7.0.2.16. QuickTime is up to date and I only have 1 PC authorised. Help!
Dell Dimension 5100 Windows XP ProThere's another thread on here that suggested re-installing iTunes. That works for me (in that the videos play), but I have to re-install iTunes every time I want to watch them which is a pain. So if anyone has a more permanent fix...

Just updated to iOS 8.2. Settings app still crashes when attempting to manage music storage.
Thanks for your reply. Any suggestions for ways to fix this? If I've already updated using my phone, am I just screwed?

Crashing when screen saver launches
I'm getting random crashes when my system launches screen saver. Symptoms are the screen becomes very grainy, sometimes with scrolling horizontal lines, and the clock also freezes with the time of the crash.
This started right after going to 10.5.8. I re-ran the updater (combo) and the problem stopped for a couple of weeks but started again today.
I deleted Desktop preferences, but that didn't help.
Ideas, anyone?Has anyone found the answer to this problem? I have installed and uninstalled flash player several times but whenever it instals my sytems preferences die, which is very frustrating. I receive the same message as Lazula.

When attempting to install "Software Update" from Apple, the process stalls at "Configuring Installation". Even allowing it to run for 24 hours does not result in any progress.
Thanks for the straightforward tip. I had restarted once already, but the second time was a charm. The install button now works. Don't know if it mattered, but I also repaired disk permissions and then restarted in safe mode this time.
The printer driver is apparently a different issue in itself. It turns out that the my printer, the HP Deskjet F380, has some fluke that makes it incompatible in 10.6. A new driver is coming out from HP according to Rickmeister in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10076690
In case anyone else has the same problem with the F380: Like the user in the aforementioned thread, I downloaded and installed the old HP drivers for 10.5, and now at least I can print in the meantime. -
Aperture 3 CRASHES when I attempt to authorize
So, I just bought a key to upgrade my Aperture 2 to Aperture 3. When I attempt to "Authorize" the newly purchased key, Aperture 3 instantly crashes: whether at the beginning of the app (by selecting "Authorize"), or within the app (when I attempt an "Authorization" menu item within the trial version). Both methods cause insta-crash.
Nice work!
So I buy software; it does not work; I cannot open a support ticket. I have no patience for this whatsoever! Posting in, or reading, a forum is not "support".
The is a professional application and I am a professional photographer. I have no time to deal with mickey mouse bull$hit software like this. I am officially DONE with Aperture. Also, in case anyone reading this thread has this problem: I restarted my computer with the Aperture 3 upgrade CD still in the CD drive. Usually this isn't a problem. However, my computer would not boot! After multiple hard shutdowns and retries, it kept getting stuck on the grey screen (before the dark grey apple appears). Finally had to hard shutdown and power back on with the Option key pressed. This allowed me to choose a system drive to boot from (and my only one appeared). I selected it and viola, system started. I went to system prefs -> startup disk. Selected my system drive again as the start up disk. Just to make doubly sure. Then I TOOK THE APERTURE 3 Upgrade CD OUT OF THE COMPUTER. Restarted. No problems restarting since.
I have no idea if the Aperture 3 CD really caused the problem or if something in the system prefs had gotten hosed, but just in case, wanted to post this.
Yes, it was a tortuous install procedure. Nevermind driving an hour in the snow to get the Upgrade, only to find out the Apple Store didn't have it (even though I'd called ahead). Thankfully another Apple store had gotten a shipment later that afternoon and I was able to get a copy. -
Compressor crash when attempting import files with 00* in name
I produce several short video files every day and name them using a sequential five digit numerical naming convention.
I'm finding that whenever I'm near, at or shortly after crossing a 100 mark Compressor crashes when I try and import single files with the following filenames (these are the most recent examples):
20993
21000
21001
21005
The only way to import these problematic files is to select the file before, or after, then Command click on the filename causing the crash. Click Open to import both into the batch, and then click on the file I first clicked on and hit Delete to remove it from the batch, leaving the file with the problematic name.
For Example. I want to import 21005 into Compressor for processing, but every time I try and import it Compressor crashes. So I re-launch Compressor, click the little Q button and click on 21004, then press Command and click on 21005. Click Open, import window goes away to reveal the Batch window. Click on 21004, press Delete button on keyboard leaving me with the file that was causing the crash.
FWIW apart from the file duration/size, there's no difference between these files. In fact I can change the names and the files that used to import fine now crash Compressor when attempt to import with any of the filenames above.
Here's the info behind two of the problem files and also that of the two adjacent files that import fine:

Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5
1.5 B DDR SDRAM
Mac OS X 10.4.8Hello,
Thanks for the replies/info.
Yes the Panther and Jaguar install disks are retail versions, not specific machine versions. And the Jaguar ones worked for the Powerbook before.
The Powerbook I have is the Firewire 500mhz one, Pismo I think it's called. The hard drive is a 60GB one. I didn't have to partition it before.
Reviewing all the above, it would appear that the problem is me not being able to use an internal, built in CD/DVD drive to install from this time? The only other thing it could be I think is the crash I recently had has had some bad effect -- but that's unlikely right? So, I need to get a new DVD drive? Or is there any other way to get the OS onto the Powerbook without getting another internal DVD/CD drive? Is there anyway to install onto the PB from another machine maybe?
Does that sound right?: not being able to use internal DVD/CD drive is the source of my current problem?
Thanks. -
App Store on Mac osx crash when attempting to update
I am using a Mac mini 2011 late.
OSX Mountain lion latest penultimate version, just prior to the release of the AFP upgrade.
Problem is:
The App Store crashes!
When I attempt to run the App Store it loads but as soon as I hit the Update icon, the app crashes.
Attempts:
Reboot - failed
Reboot the OSX not allowing any startup programs (holding SHIFT on login) - failed
Removing all the .plist files from the startup demons and the launch directory - failed
I repaired disk permissions - failed
Logged In as a different user - failed
Any suggestion???Here is part of the error dump:
