Aperture 2 - Project Export shows wrong filenames.

Help!!! I have a big Problem. I have about 2000 Pictures in 3 Projects, which I like to transfer from my MacBook to my IMAC. The pictures are saved as seperates files and are not included in the project. When I imported the pictures from the camera in my MacBook, I choosed wrong filenames "NAME1 Date Counter". I changed those in Aperture on my Macbook in "NAME2 Date Counter". The Counternumber isn't the same like in the NAME1-Filenames.
After that I did like everytime:
- Copy the files to the IMAC
- Export the projects to an external disk
- Import the projects on me IMAC
Normally, after that, I can connect the workcopys to the files on my IMAC. Has worked every time before.
This time, I have the problem, that in the imported project, I have for each workcopy on my MacBook 2 workcopy's. One with NAME1 and one with NAME2, witch is the right one with all my work done. If I try to connect the NAME2-workcopy's to the files, the show'n filename in the workcopy is NAME1, which I can't connect with the NAME2-file on my disk. Sound's crazy, I know. On my MacBook all the filenames and the workcopys are OK. The problem only exists in the exported and imported projects.

Yes it's a double back-up but there are some differences.
The vault is easier as you don't have to think. Masters, versions and everything else are backed up.
However to restore from the vault you have to restore your ENTIRE library you cannot restore projects.
The vault does not back up referenced Masters. You have to do that yourself though it will back up any versions, book, web galleries etc that you make from those Masters.
Export project will back up referenced Masters IF you select the consolidate Masters option.
Personally I use the vault for back-up and the export project feature for moving from machine to machine.

Flash Player (Web Export) showing wrong colors

Sometimes when I look at my exported galeries I'm not satisfied regarding the colors. Up to today I thought that this is based on my week skills in developing photos.
But that seems to be wrong! Please helpt me with the following:
I'm exporting via Web Module using a simple viewer template (which uses the adobe flash player to display images). Now I fire up that little web page in my browser (safari or firefox in my case) and compare what I see with what I see in lightroom (library module). I can notice a very severe difference in the color presentation. Next I start a second browser window and place it beside the one showing the flash player galery exported before. Within that browser window I call the image from the image folder within the exported web page and compare both. Hence! It does not look like the same.
To illustrate that I shot the following a couple of minutes ago:

On the left you see the lightroom web galery (simple viewer) and on the right the jpeg picture itself. (You can try that by starting the web galery and then click on the photo and launch it with the command "open picture in new window"

Is that behaviour known and is there any solution to avoid this wrong color display?

Flash is not color managed (although in the latest version you can somehow turn it on I understand) so it will never show the right color ever. That said, if you have a good display but not so good it has a wide gamut, and you calibrate correctly at gamma 2.2, you should see very similar color. The problem on Macs that have not been calibrated is that the default gamma is wrong (even Apple says this) and they have to be calibrated to be right. Normally Safari color manages so the gamma of most images gets automaticaly corrected, but it cannot color manage flash.
That said, from your screenshot it appears the difference is entirely due to the difference in gamut between your display and sRGB. There is nothing you can do about it but pester Adobe to enable color management for the latest flash versions in the Lightroom flash galleries. Of course nobody that looks at your gallery will actually see the right color anyway as basically nobody calibrates their screen and most people do not even use color managed browsers.

"Popular items" webpart showing wrong filenames

I am using out of box "Popular items" webpart in my application which is built using SharePoint 2013.From the properties, i selected Filename to display in the webpart. But for some filenames with extensions such as ".mp4,py"
it is displaying as "DispForm.aspx" in the webpart.How can i diplay Filenames instead of "DispForm.aspx"

Somehow one of my Aperture's Project shows all my 52000 photos

Hi there,
At the first time I imported this Project had about 2000 photos. But somehow when I came back to it after weeks, this Project shows 52000 photos in this Project. I found out that is all the photos into my all projects.
I thought they were duplicated photos. But when I delete some photos in this troublesome Project, that photos in the right project was gone too. It seems to me that this problem Project links all the photos to it. When I import any new photos into another named album, the problem Project also got the newly imported linked to it. Very annoying indeed.
It is strange that when I go to 'Filter' and select 'Show all'. There is no photos displayed in this Project whereas the normal projects do show photos. Again when I did the right click at that Project and select 'Show Project Info' and are 2000 photos as it should be. But I do not know why it appears all my 52000 photos in the Project.
FYI - I am on iMac with OSX 10.8.4 and Aperture 3.4.5. I has been using Aperture for 3 years and it just happened lately.
I think it happened when I upgraded it to the latest version.
Could anyone please help and advise ?

Thank you very much for responding. It is strange right ? I do have back up but it's gonna take my a lot of time checking. I have two iMac and many projects are still in my old iMac.
Please my screenshots with my note below.
In my first screenshot, you are looking at all the projects at the left. Every photos on those projects are linked to the Project circled in pink.
I tried cleaning my computer cache, switching on/off and also deleted that Project (the deleting time took a while as it was removing all of my photos. However, I reput it back from Trash when I saw it dragged all of my photos to Trash too).
Not sure this is normal or not. I think it's not because the normal projects shows what I put in the filtered box.

Now when i come to the page for first time and select a row and click on Export then the filename that gets shown in save file dialog is incorrect (it shows partial adf taskflow name) , but when i select the row again by clicking on any other row and click export it shows correct filename i.e. selectedRowName.zip or .xml according to type of row selected.
Can anybody suggest what am i missing?

Lightroom 2.7 exporting the wrong images

Hi. I've been using Lightroom since the first beta, currently running LR2.7 on a MacBook Pro. I installed the new CS5 (Web Premium suite) a little more than a week ago, and I'm suddenly having problems exporting images to JPEG from Lightroom.
Images import and edit correctly, look great, nothing gives me an error message. But when I try to export a single image, the first instance (after I've launched the application) will export correctly. After that, there seems to be about a 70% chance that subsequent attempts will export the wrong image. The file is correctly named, but the image will be a duplicate of the last successful export.
If I try to export a batch of four or five, the first image will usually export correctly, sometimes the last image will export correctly, but anything in between will be a duplicate of either a previous export, or the first image.
I assumed it was a memory issue, shut down the Mac and restarted, then opened Lightroom as the only active application. Same thing happened. I can export correctly in other applications such as Photoshop and Flash, but Lightroom won't. Activity Monitor doesn't show anything out of line for memory usage.
When the problem started happening I was running 2.6; I upgraded to 2.7 to see if that would fix it--it doesn't.
Any ideas? I'd rather not delete and reinstall Lightroom and rebuild my libraries if I can avoid it, especially if that might not solve the problem.

Hmmmm. I've tried various naming conventions and I'm still looking for consistency in the way the error occurs--could have something to do with naming presets, but it's acting like something gets stuck in the cache. What puzzles me is that I export files daily, haven't changed cameras, cards, file locations, my workflow is the same, and I've never had this problem. The only thing that's changed (that I'm aware of) is the installation of CS5--the error seems to have started when I started using "Edit in Photoshop." (And again, that was never a problem before)
The files all have different names, the ones assigned by the cameras.
This morning I rebooted, didn't launch any of the CS5 apps. Launched Lightroom, chose 7 files at random and exported them with the "filename" preset. They exported correctly. I selected them again, and tried another export, this time giving them a custom name, and they exported correctly with a sequence number attached. Tried them with "Custom Name-Sequence," and they worked again. I exported a single file with the same preset, again it exported correctly.
Then I switched folders, selected 7 different images and exported them with a new "Custom Name-sequence," and this time Lightroom exported EIGHT files. The sixth was the previously-exported single-file, so the exporter had gotten the first 5 right, inserted the old file in the sixth position, and then correctly exported the last two.
Three more tests exported everything correctly, which is far fewer errors than yesterday. I'm kinda stumped.

Aperture 3 project does not display any images in one Project

This is a strange situation. The bullets below outline the situation:
The project does not display any images
When I place the pointer over the project it shows there are 500+ images
I have located the RAW images stored in my aperture library
I can pull up the images using a smart folder and searching for photos taken on the event day
This is happening only to one of my projects that I know of (weird!!)
I have tried to 're-add' the image by both importing and dragging and dropping into the project, neither works
I tried the following basics:
Fixed permissions
Rebuilt the database
Tried to re-import the data, but when I have the 'don't import duplicates' these are not an option
Found the images in my Aperture library
I created another project and drug all of the images into that project
Any idea how I can fix this?
My fear is that if I delete the original project, the original master images will be deleted.

The most common cause of this is some sort of stuff in the search box at the top of the browser that you don't expect to be there. Just clear it and all your images should show up.

One note - if you drug your images from one project to another it moves them vs copies them unless you hold down the option key.

Adding zeros to filenames when exporting in Lightroom "Filename-001" "Fliename-002" etc?

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to add zeros before numbers when exporting files eg: "Filename-001" "Fliename-002" etc? The default setting is "Filename-1" "Filename-2" ect. The reason I want to have zeros in the number sequence is that certain software will display files in the wrong numerical sequence eg: "Filename-1" "Filename-10" Filename-11" etc and then "Filename-2" after "Filename-19". If zeros are added the files will always be displayed in the correct sequence "Filename-001" "Filename-002"... "Filename-009" "Filename-010" "Filename-011" etc.

Just customize the filename using the template editor, and use the Sequence token set to the number of leading zeroes you want, as shown.

Aperture, date and export/save on a HD

Hi all !
I'm starting to get used to Aperture, but i can't do something i'd like to...
I want to shoot in RAW, adjust pictures on Aperture and then export them on my HD as a .jpg (cause it takes less space) to save them. The thing is that when i export them, it changed time and date of the originals (which is logic in a certain way...) but i want to keep an idea of when i took those pictures...
I don't know if i was clear enough but do you have any ideas ??

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image files.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export. However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

VM2.2 manager page shows wrong status "Shutting down" for VM Guest

VM manager page shows wrong status "Shutting down" for VM guest, I can very much connect to console and see it is up and running.
It happened when trying to shutdown VM guest manually but in parallel VM server got rebooted automatically.
Any information on How to correct the status in VM manager page?

To solve this problem, change the status manually as follows:
1.Make sure that the virtual machine in the target server has been shut down. Use xm list or virsh list to check the virtual machine name and ID.
2.If the virtual machine is running, use xm shutdown vm_id or virsh shutdown vm_id to shut it down, where vm_id refers to the virtual machine name or ID.
3.Use xm list or virsh list to check if the virtual machine has been shut down. If it is still running, use xm destroy vm_id, or virsh destroy vm_id to shut it down.
4.Log in as oracle (or root first, then su - oracle) to the computer where Oracle VM Manager is installed, and run the following commands to change the virtual machine status to Powered off in the Oracle XE database:

LR 5.3 showing wrong thumbnails

I have been running LR 5.3 smoothly for a while but a couple of minutes ago LR started to show wrong thumbnails, it shows thumbnails from a delete Snapshot. I have tried purging my cache but nothing happens. I have upgraded from LR 3 to LR 3.5 Ideas ? This is my system:

I have had this problem also ever since I updated to 5.3, I think it is a major bug!
At random the preview window on the left doesnt show the preview of the presets anymore when I hover them, and when I click back and forth to other images it suddenly starts working again, its a very annoying problem and I cannot believe that Adobe isnt aware of it yet!
