Aperture 2 trial expired already

My trial version of aperture 2 has expired already!
I did have a look at trial of Aperture 1.5 last year, but stuck to a much faster lightroom on my 1.67 powerbook. I now can't make a valid comparison because my v2 trial expired after my first opening!!
Not very helpful for convincing me to shift to Aperture 2.....

I haven't tried this, but you may find the following thread interesting for helping your evaluation.

  • Aperture trial expired, and I want my modified pictures back.

I downloaded the Aperture trial a month ago and used it to modify some pictures. Recently, the trial expired. Now I can't access the pictures that I modified using Aperture. I don't want the masters, as I already have them stored in iPhoto. Is there any way for me to recover the altered versions of the master images?

Yes you can get them back, but just as the basic RAW without any adjustments.
Navigate to your pictures folder or your aperture library. Mine is in the pictures folder.
Ctrl click, then click show package contents. You will then see you various projects. ctrl click and the click show package contents.
Scroll down and you will see blue folders. Open each one up, and you will see your RAW file.
    hope that helps

  • Aperture trial expired & I can't seem to "try" it again

About four months ago I had downloaded and installed the Aperture 2.xx 30 day trail version. At the time I didn't see a real need for it. Since then I've really gotten into photography and purchased a camera that shoots RAW. I've decided to take an other look at Aperture. I recently downloaded the trial version again and installed it, entered the serial number, however it Aperture tells me that my trial version already expired and only gives me an option to quit or purchase a copy. I'm almost about ready to purchase a copy but want to play around with the RAW stuff. Is there a way to try the trial version again? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

How different do you think the RAW files from supported same company and model line cameras are from mine?
Different enough that Aperture won't be able to process them. I'm not sure how Panasonic raw files vary from camera to camera, but you could try hacking the header info in the files to trick Aperture into thinking that they come from a supported model. Not sure how well that would work since the sensors are probably different.
I don’t want to purchase Aperture and not be able to use it with my camera to process RAW.
Adobe's DNG Converter doesn't support your camera, so the DNG route is unfortunately not an option for you.
Do any third-party apps support your camera's raw format?
    Cheers,
    Andreas

  • Downloaded Photoshop trial a few days ago but it has expired already.

I downloaded the photoshop extended trial a few days ago, but when I run it, it says it has expired already. The weird thing is that when I try to redownload photoshop using the adobe download assistant, it says in the top right corner that I have 30 days left.
When I originally went to downloaded the photoshop trial, I was in this page where it gave two options: Download now or join and download now. I chose join and download now.

  • Wish To Uninstall Expired Aperture 2 Trial

I tried Aperture 2 with the free trial, and decided I didn't want to buy into it just yet. I've let the trial expire, but the application keeps trying to open whenever I attach a camera or insert an SD card. I would like to do a complete uninstall of the application, but haven't found a way to do so. I don't get any relevant answers when I search "uninstall aperture" on Apple's support site.
I've read a number of people saying they uninstalled and then reinstalled Aperture 2, or the Aperture 2 Trial, while trying to solve various problems. Could someone tell me, how did you achieve the uninstall?
    Thanks,
    dgb

What have you done so far? Or are you asking in advance?

  • What will happen when my Aperture trial expires?

I downloaded the trial version of Aperture 3, this will expire in 5 days time. I have decided that I am not going to buy the full licensed version yet as I have found it to be too buggy in it's present form, and for now iPhoto meets my needs. I did not import my whole iphoto library but have just been trying it out on around 100 photos that I imported directly. I also have copies of these photos stored in iPhoto.
What will happen in 5 days when the trial expires and should I uninstall it?

I'm just guessing, but when the day arrives, when you invoke Aperture (like so many other trial software), you get a message asking for the license, if you can't provide it, Aperture will shut down.
If you think you may come back to AP, you can always invoke it when you have a license.
Of course, if one or more upgrade to AP come along, you won't have a way to test them out. I'd suggest you stay close to this forum and read about them, see how other users feel about the upgrade(s).

  • Aperture 2 trial freezes occasionally

I'm using the Aperture 2 trial, downloaded from the apple site, and I would like to purchase it when my trial expires. The only thing is about 75% of the time when i launch the trial from my dock it gets to the splash screen and then freezes. If i force quit and then open it again immediately after the initial freeze it'll get to the splash screen then ask me if i want to continue, register, etc. like it normally does on launch.
Does anyone know why it usually freezes up at the initial splash screen?
    Thanks

I have the same problem, but more frequently. Like, ALWAYS. After working with Aperature enough to decide I wanted to buy it. I've got several thousand images imported already and all of a sudden the trial freezes at the splash screen and it's impossible to get beyond that point. Forcing Quit, even rebooting the Mac will not solve the problem. The last action I took was copying an existing Web theme folder and altering some of the HTML in the template pages of the copy but the freeze is unrelated to web gallery generation. There's something wrong at startup and now I'm faced with not being able to run the program, purchase it, and lose all the work I've already done with my photos in anticipation of buying the darned thing...

  • Canon 7D Raw Support in Aperture 2 after installing Aperture 3 trial

    Hi!
I'm having a really weird problem! A few months ago I purchased Aperture 2 and have been working with it ever since. About a week ago I installed the Aperture 3 trial to see what the general differences are. After playing with it I noticed not enough "useful" changes compared to Aperture 2 to actually purchase Aperture 3. So I removed Aperture 3 and went back to my good old Aperture 2.
Two days ago I bought the Canon EOS 7D, but when connecting to my Mac the Raw files are not supported by Aperture 2! While I was trying out Aperture 3 I used software update to update Camera Raw as well and it seems that Camera Raw Update 3.2 enabled Aperture 3 to work with my 7D's raw files but disabled Aperture 2 to support them! I searched the Apple support pages for older versions of Camera Raw and came across version 2.7 which should enable Aperture 2 to work with the EOS 7D. But as expected, I cannot install 2.7 because 3.2 is already installed!
Does anyone know wether it's possible to "downgrade" camera raw to version 2.7? Or is there any other solution to my problem? It can not believe that an innocent Aperture 3 trial forces me to actually upgrade to Aperture 3 because Aperture 2 now refuses to support my brand new 7D?! Is there anyone on this forum familiar with this problem and able to help me? Many thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Mick van Jaarsvelt

I am running with same type of problem. I have Aperture 2.0 and can not work the Raw files from my Canon 7D. I have no problems working Raw files from my old Rebel Canon camera. Did you solve your problem?

  • Uninstalling Aperture 3 Trial, iPhoto lock & Access to photos

    Greetings,
My Aperture trial expired, but I'm not ready to buy.
The trial open dialog keeps appearing whenever I plug in my iPhone, and now since Aperture expired, iTunes is saying iTunes Library is locked or I don't have permission, so I can't sync my iPhone, in fact I can't even open iTunes. Perhaps unrelated to Aperture, but this lock out happened after I say "quit" to Aperture and I can't bypass Aperture because the iPhone triggers it.
Now, I'd like to remove the trial of Aperture so I can sync my iPhone, but now I'm reading that all my photos pulled using Aperture are not accessible unless I export the originals. Really? That' seems a bit over reaching, but maybe I'm missing something here. I've shot about 3K photos during the trial and I'd be a bit miffed if Aperture truly prevented me from accessing my own content.
    Some help please.
    Thanks,
    Joan

Thanks for this info. Moving Aperture to the Trash (and restarting my computer) worked to get my iPhone sync'd.
Regarding moving master photos, I got a dialog from Aperture when I plugged in my iPhone. It said my trial had ended and if I wanted to export my photos (or similar message). Of course I said yes and moved the photos elsewhere.
I tried your method after the fact and no masters were in the folder you mentioned, but I'm pretty sure they went into the new export folder I created, which appears to have all the images processed during the test. Just mentioning it appears that process moved files out of the Aperture Library, and not copied them to the new location, but I'm sure you know that. I mention for other readers who may run into a similar problem.
I did know the trial was ending, I just didn't think (and rightly so) that my images would not be accessible after the trial expired. I am certainly happy for that.
    Thanks for you help.

  • Acrobat Pro trial expired PLEASE HELP,

    Hello everyone
I down loaded the acrobat pro trial but did not install it, I lent my laptop to a friend who installed it and and now I wanted to give it a try but the trial has already expired. Is there any way I can get the trial again to test out?
    Thanks

You can also try it on another machine. Unfortunately, your friend may have used up your option. Why not borrow his laptop and install it there and see how you like it.

  • Please help me with this aperture 3 trial version installation guide, asap!

I have aperture 2 (licensed volume) already installed and when I tried to install this aperture 3 trial version install, I have got this message "A licensed copy of Aperture has already been installed in the Applications folder. To install the Aperture 3 Trial, rename your existing copy of Aperture, then run this installer again." And when I tried to rename Aperture under this application folder to Aperture 2, I have got this message "You do not have sufficient access privileges to rename the item "Aperture" ", even though I m the admin user by checking "System Preference" >> "Accounts". Realli appreciate if anyone can explain how to install aperture 3 trial version with Aperture 2 installed, steps by steps clearly. and how to work around with the Aperture library when Aperture 3 is installed with Aperture 2 already installed. Thanks

You have a permissions problem with your applications folder. There are multiple ways to fix this, if you read up on repairing permissions.
The easiest solution is to just Duplicate your Aperture 2 application instead of renaming it. (highlight it and press command-D). You'll get "aperture copy" and you will have permission to change its name.

  • Are RAW files able to be edited in the Aperture "Free Trial" download

I recently downloaded the free 30 day trial version of Apple's Aperture 3 after purchasing a Sony Alpha NEX-3 camera. It was my intention to use the trial as a tutorial for when I buy the actual program in a few weeks.
During a vacation, I used the NEX-3 to take several hundred photos, with the camera set to take both a JPEG image as well as a RAW image. I then downloaded the trial and set the Import settings to import both files with JPEG as the master. The RAW version of the file, however, will not display -- i get a message saying "Unsupported image format. I checked the Apple list of cameras of which Aperture supports the RAW format and NEX-3 was definitely on the list. However, when I veiw the file name for the RAW version of each photo, it is given thusly in the metadata: (file name).ARW. I am confused...
I would like to begin editing the RAW version of all of my photos before the trial expires. Did I do something wrong upon import? Can I change the file name in my camera so that the RAW photo files import as (file name).RAW instead of (file name).ARW? Is it as simple as the free trial not including the ability to edit photos in the RAW format? Or, am I just missing something simple? Please help before my trail expires at the end of the month...

You need to download the latest camera raw update from Apple.

  • Trouble launching creative cloud apps. Subscription is activated but it shows trial expired screen.

    Hi,
I am trying to launch creative cloud apps on 10.7.3 lion imac, but it keeps asking me to license the software, which I have already done. It even shows that subscription is active, but for some reason it keeps taking me back to the trial expired screen. I have already tried uninstallling everything and reinstalling, but that has not solved the issue. Creative Cloud seem to work just fine on my 10.6.8 macbook, but would not work on 10.7.3 iMac. Please help!!! I am so frustrated. I am paying for this and can't even launch an app. I am in the second month of this subscription. First month, everything appeared to be a trial and now it has expired. Now, when I try to license the software, it activates it for me, but it never launces the app. It takes me back to the trial screen. What should I do???

I hit this same problem. The problem wasn't on my machine: No amount of tweaking locally would fix it, no amount of removing the apps, cleaning, and reinstalling fresh. The problem was on Adobe's servers, where my account had been tagged as being a trial rather than a paying subscription.
The experience was tremdously frustrating, as most of the techs were worthless and wouldn't read the notes on what came before but simply threw out a random, inapplicable bugfix to try before handing it off to the next tech who would repeat the process. And there was no channel to get past them. Each time they'd tell me they were escalating the case, which became obvious as being a lie after a few weeks. No company has that many tiers of tech support. I was locked out of Illustrator for more than a month, waiting for late replies and meaningless "fixes".
Eventually my case landed at the desk of an agent who actually cared and kept looking until she found the answer. Thank you, Sarika Behal.
