Aperture 3.2  -  MobileMe

Hallo,
can anybody please confirm, that under Aperture 3.2 (optimized for iCloud) I can still use the MobileMe-galleries!?
I dno't want to "upgrade" to iCloud, but continue to use MobileMe until it ends in June next year.

Maybe you hid the Toolbar? Try hitting shift T. Or click on the View menu and choose Customize Toolbar...

  • Aperture 3 and MobileMe are now solved?

I am still on with Aperture 2.1.4 and have just had trouble with creating a new MobileMe gallery again, as Aperture remarks after it has uploaded the previews and made the gallery - til there is all fine - it could not communicate with MobileMe. This comes further if I like to made some changes to the gallery within Aperture and try to sync them - nothing happens, only the error comes up. This bug is til I upgraded my system to SL and Aperture 2.1.4. Any idea? Does Aperture 3 still has this bug or is it solved?

Okay ... further to my original note ... has anyone seen this?
Using Aperture 3 and MobileMe ... do you need to create unique passwords for each album?
(that seemed to fix the generic password on multiple albums)
No I have not seen this kind of problem, and no you shouldn't need unique passwords for each album.
I have specific groups that I regularly share sets of albums with. When I create a new MobileMe album, I specify which group has access (or limit the access later via the Aperture-MobileMe album settings). I established the group name (and password) once. For subsequent albums I just specify that group. If I use the Tell A Friend... option to announce a new album, it will share the group/username and password.
IF I enable uploading additional photos via e-mail, that does create a unique/generic e-mail address for each album -- has to as you want any photos to upload to THAT album.
I know this answers your question, but quite likely does not provide a solution. If you can be more specific as to EXACTLY what steps you are taking I might be able to replicate your process and offer a specific solution. Hopefully the pieces I've offered may help you find a solution though?
    Best wishes!

  • Aperture 3 and mobileme gallery

I hope this makes sense to someone!
I purchased aperture 3, imported my iphoto pictures and then started to upload my newest photos into mobileme through the mobileme gallery button. It has created the albums and uploaded them (I can see them in the aperture side bar), but it has created a new gallery folder on my mobile me space rather than popping them into a folder already set up that is the one my iweb is using. So when I log into iweb I cannot see the newest albums. So, after all that, my question is: how do I get aperture to upload the new albums into my existing iweb linked gallery? Or how do I merge the two?
    Phew!!!
    many thanks

Drop them on the desktop then upload directly from the MoMe Album.

  • Aperture 3 and MobileMe Galleries created in iPhoto

I wanted to post this to hopefully help someone else should they run into the same thing.
I recently upgraded from point and shoot camera's to a higher quality camera, so I also decided that it was time to upgrade from iPhoto to something better.  I decided on Aperture as I am not quite ready to commit to the expense and time to learn something as complex as Photoshop.
Well, the first time I opened Aperture and told it to import my iPhoto library, it worked without any difficulty.  But, I noticed something was missing.  My MobileMe galleries where not displayed in the inspector window for Aperture.  I could not for the life of me, figure out how to get them to show up in there either.
I went to the Apple store and talked to some Aperture users there and no one could seem to tell me how to fix this.  It was even more frustrating because all of my photo albums from FaceBook came up in Aperture just fine.
Finally in a last ditch, hail mary pass, of an idea, I went to the web UI for my MobileMe galleries.  I figured that maybe if I edited something about those galleries, they would then show up in Aperture.
Well, I went into the properties for one of the galleries that I was not seeing in Aperture, and low and behold, there in the properties was an option to choose what application that gallery would sync to.  The only options are iPhoto or Aperture, so I changed each gallery to show Aperture as the chosen app to sync with.
Finally they now show in Aperture, of course, as you might expect, they no longer show in iPhoto.
I have no idea why the Import process does not warn you about this, and / or offer to change them for you, but it was very frustrating.
If this can help someone else new to Aperture to avoid this frustration, then I am glad.

Thanks Richard, very helpful. I wondered why I couldn't see my old mobileme galleries in Aperture.
I have swapped between iPhoto '09, Aperture 3, iPhoto '11 and now back to Aperture. Whilst I love the ease of use and relative speed of iPhoto, Aperture's adjustments and masters/versions handling has the edge for me now that my masters collection is too big for my MBP. And with a clean install of Lion my machine now seems more responsive than it has been for a while.
Changing the setting of each gallery is a bit dull, is there a global 'manage mobile me galleries with iPhoto/Aperture' setting anywhere?

  • Aperture galleries on MobileMe dont show up on iWeb?

I have created some galleries in Aperture and sync'd them with my MobileMe account. I also have a website hosted on the same account but these galleries dont show up in iWeb when I try and link them? Galleries created in iPhoto show up fine and work as they should, its just the Aperture ones. They are visible however if I go direct into my MobileMe page and into the galleries?
    Any ideas?

Im having a similar problem. I had had problems with my computer so i got a new one and downloaded the itunes store. But the thing is, even when i authorized the computer transferred my purchases and reset it by the menu and select keys, the new songs i downloaded to my ipod wont show up! Im so frustrated and i REALLy need some help. These are some of my favorite songs and the old ones are still their but i cant get the new ones!

  • Aperture not displaying MobileMe Galleries

I have a half-dozen MobileMe galleries that I am using to allow clients to view image proofs. They are password-protected and hidden from my Gallery page.
When I opened Aperture this morning, it does not show the MobileMe item in the project pane. None of the galleries are visible. I tried creating a new gallery with a single image, and I was able to publish it. The MobileMe item appeared in the project pane as usual. I quit Aperture, and when I re-opened it, the MobileMe item is again not displayed.
When I try to access any of the galleries directly via Safari, but with Aperture open, I get a message that says, "This page is currently being published. Please try again in a moment." I quit Aperture, and then I can access the galleries as usual.
The only change to my system recently was that I upgraded to OS X 10.5.7 on Friday, and I haven't opened Aperture since the upgrade.

Let me emphasize that I have not experienced this issue. I suspect that rebuilding the Aperture Library might be of benefit -- try rebuilding the Aperture library. Launch Aperture and hold down the Command and Option keys until the Rebuild Library dialog appears.

  • Aperture, iPhoto, and MobileMe

I use Aperture on my iMac. My wife uses iPhoto on her iMac and doesn't have Aperture. She has published a mobileme album to a gallery we share on one mobileme account. Is there a way to sync the mobileme gallery with Aperture on my computer and iphoto on her computer or do I have to sync to iPhoto on both? I was only able to find a setting in MobileMe to choose either iPhoto or Aperture. Thanks in advance for any help.

You might want to take this to the Mobile me forum (if there is one) as it seems its not really related to Aperture itself but more to how Mobile operates.
    good luck,

  • Aperture vs. MobileMe Round 2

I posted here a few days ago and got no replies so I'll try once more…
I started using Aperture w/1.5. After .mac became mobileme I published several albums to mobileme w/2.1.1. Now w/2.1.2, Aperture goes thru the drill, spins its wheels, puts a new mobileme album under the Gallery menu along w/the sync symbol-Aperture appears to believe the album is published but it never shows up on mobileme and revisiting the album settings in Aperture show it as 'unpublished'. There is absolutely no error message.
My mobileme acct is seems to be fine-I've been on mme live chat twice and they say it's an Aperture problem and they don't support 'other's products' (?!?).
I trashed 2.1.2 including pref, app support and receipt files; reinstalled 2.0 from CD; upgraded to 2.1, tried publishing-now that version does the same thing; upgraded to 2.1.1, tried publishing-same result; now back to 2.1.2, tried publishing-same result; rebuilt everything within Aperture, installed rawcamera2.3-something quirky there? Nope!
In a fit of pique I've even ordered a copy of Leopard but I don't believe that's the answer. Argg-am I the only person in the universe who can't a pic on mobileme and is it Aperture or mobileme's doing?
    Thanks again
    John

    Em-thanks for the response!
I looked from the mobileme side-if I log into mm, go to iDisk/Web/Sites/_gallery I see all the albums I've published to date ID'd by progressive 6 digit numbers. Opening a successfully published gallery album gives me a folder list, each folder contains one photo in the gallery in variously sized jpg's. The last file in the gallery album is single file called scrubSprite.jpg. Downloading and opening this file gives me a 'filmstrip' of all or most of the photos in the gallery album-I'm told by mm chat that the scrubsprite.jpg is the file that creates the quick slide show that occurs when the cursor is run across an album on our gallery home pages (this scrubsprite file contains only the first 18± photos).
Now here's the interesting part. In the _gallery folder are 20+ NEW numbered folders that have been created since I've been trying to upload this specific new album. Each folder contains ONLY the scrubsprite file or 'filmstrip' created from the project. So mm is 'accepting' the strip of photos from this Aperture project but not the individual photos-hummm?
Back to Aperture… I've just created a couple of new test projects w/other photos from the same couple of Nikon's I have and SUCCESSFULLY created new test albums on my mm gallery! I've created another test project and placed therein pics from the project I've been trying to turn into a mm album and the upload still behaves as in the paragraph above-photos NOT published but scrubsprite file uploaded!
Why will certain photos/projects publish from Aperture and others not-what am I missing here?
    Thanks
    John

  • Aperture 3.1 - Mobileme - Flickr - Facebook

Hi, I just upgraded to Aperture 3.1 and pleased to find all my galleries for Flickr and Facebook listed, and not just the one's created in Aperture. But for mobileme, there is still a mismatch: just the ones created in mobileme are listed in Aperture. Is this a bug, by design, or what? Not even sure why all the flickr/facebook galleries mysteriously showed up, as before 3.1, it was just the ones created in Aperture that were listed. Huh?
    thx,
    coocoo

Came how from work, decided to do a test.
Existing Facebook albums created in Aperture 3.0.x will re-size to 720 pix wide, you have to do slight "trick".
Click on crop in the FB album inside Aperture, just touch the handles and hit enter.
Aperture will re-size to 720 pix. Not the easiest but if you have certain picts you want larger this is one way to make it work.

  • Aperture 3 and MobileMe

    Hello,
I bought AP2 and upgraded towards AP3 (AP3.0.3 now - other information : french). During this time I just stored my photos. I've just created a web page with the "Publish to Mobile Me ..." button. The dialog box says that my page will be published at this web address : http://homepage.mac.com/..... . It is not a MobileMe address but a old .Mac address. I had a .Mac account and I have now a MobileMe account.
Do you know anything about this problem ?
    Thank you for you help

    I figured it out!!
If you publish a web page with images from within Aperture it will publish to http://homepage.mac.com/username/
This URL is Old. (??) Anyway, the published file/photos may be found in iDisk/Sites. I moved the folder to iDisk/web

  • Aperture 3 and MobileMe/Web = Force Quit

I'm having some difficulties with my recent upgrade to Aperture 3 (via App Store). Aperture seems to have difficulty with any sort of web gallery. I can't even get to the web settings in Aperture's preferences window without having to force quit. As soon as Aperture loads it tries to sync MobileMe. It sits there for a while and then gives me an ( ! ) icon. If I click on the icon, the words MobileMe or one of the albums Aperture freezes and I have to force quit. I also have to force quit if I try to create a Facebook album.

Well here's the issue I am currently running into also. I have loaded several galleries to MM as I was trying to sell a truck and a car so I tried using the galleries as a link for my craigslist posting. First off the initial gallery worked just fine with the original 10 photos. But then when I tried to upload another 5-7 photos into the same gallery it was like it created a whole new gallery with the same name. Well I went back in and deleted the newly "doubled" gallery and it magically re-appeared but without any other photos. I then tried deleting that gallery and it went away and came back like Jason in Friday the 13th. I just couldn't kill it!! Then after attempting to delete any gallery they all came back but then on my MM gallery page I was getting blank boxes but still stating how many photos were in the gallery. I was able to click to go into the gallery but there were once again just blank boxes with no photos but at least the titles of each of the shots. Weird!

  • Aperture slideshows to mobileme gallery

I have tried endlessly to export a good quality aperture slideshow to my mobileme gallery but it seems this can only be done as an album of pictures or as a movie through imovie.
Does anyone know another procedure whereby I can upload them as I originally create them with music, theme, transitions, etc?

I create 'high quality previews' in aperture first.
From there I create a 'high quality master file'...
    Export from aperture...
    Using a 'custom' preset
    H.264
    24fps
    at 1920x1080
I label this file my 'master' for play back on computer & smaller versions for other devises.
    From here in QT7:
    File-export-'Movie to Quick Time Movie'
    Options-     Compression: H.264
                      Quality: High
                       Frame Rate: 24fps
                       Encoding Mode:  Multipass
                      Dimensions: 640x840
                       Scale:  Letterbox
                       Sound:  AAC
Not sure whether to go from ITunes to Mobileme from here or if there is a way to go from iTunes to Mobileme via iMovie
    from here...
I've just tried so many ways that I am disappointed with the results every time.
I did create one movie in mobileme with great quality but didn't write down how I did it and now I can't repeat it...
I am also very disappointed with not being able to produce good quality movies on a DVD...
Any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated...I realize my I.T. understanding is somewhat limited but I do know what it is I want to produce in the end after having taken great images...

  • Aperture 3 and MobileMe syncing problems

  • Aperture stuck "moving MobileMe albums"

Aperture 3.3.1 running on a 27 inch iMac with OS 10.7.4
I did have a subscription to MobileMe but as we all know, that service isn't offered any more.
Now when I open Aperture, I get an automatic popup telling me that MobileMe isn't available any more and that Aperture will move my albums from MobileMe to preserve them.
Then Aperture gets stuck moving these albums...
Trouble is, I don't have any albums on MobileMe (I deleted them all before the service closed).
So my Aperture just sits there, frozen on "moving MobileMe albums".
    HELP!!!!!
I need to work and can't without my Aperture behaving itself and not just sitting there, stuck.
    Any suggestions, guys???

Quit or Force quit Aperture, if necessary. Then relaunch.
When the "MobileME" pop-up appears, press the "learn More" button, not the "o.k." button.
In the Aperture preferences open the "We" pane and in the "Accounts" tab remove "Mobile Me".
If this does not work, disconnect your internet (disable WI-fi, unplug the ethernet cable) before you relaunch Aperture.
Then log from Mobile Me in the System Preferences, like mende1 said.
    Good luck.

  • How do I stop Aperture from dislpaying MobileMe popup?

Maybe this has to do with my copy being a free trial... Everytime I launch Aperture, a window pops up and askes me if I want to sign in to MobileMe. The options are "SignIn", "No Thanks", and "Learn More". I don't see a checkbox that says "Don't show this". It sure is anoying. How do I remove this?
    Thanks

Sorry -- my bad.  Stack overflow  .
    Should read "Aperture→Preferences→Web→Accounts".
In Aperture, click "Aperture" on the menu bar.  Then click "Preferences".  Then click the tab "Web".  Look for something that might be triggering MobileMe in the Accounts listed.  Delete it.
